As one of tumblr’s resident figure skaters and Yuri on ice fans, I will be explaining the different skate boots and blades we see here. Also subsequently assigning what I think our podium family would wear based on age and everything.

Starting with our dear Vitya,

I am sorry to say, but based on his age and that this was set in 2016. That would put Victor as someone born in 1988, that means he grew up surrounded by Reidells and Jackson Ultima shoes. Based on the width of his foot I would wager that he wears Jackson’s ($800+) with a Custom John Wilson gold seal blade ($709+) since yk they don’t actually come in gold.

Yuuri would be born in 1993, our dear Millennial. He would for sure be sporting the same Jackson Ultimas ($800+) that we see on Viktor, because our boy will do ANYTHING to be like him. But until he gets enough sponsors to afford gold seal blades ($709), I think he might go for the John Wilson pattern 99’s. It’s less expensive, and you can find more second hand.

Yura born 2001, our older gen Z child (even though we’d be the same age bc I am also a 2001 baby). Oh boy don’t get me started, his boots would FOR SURE be Edea’s ($1000), he would want to have the cutting edge advantage on everything. Edea is a fairly new brand having started in 2002 Italy. And his blades would be John Wilson MK phantom revolution ($719), purely based on the name because he’d think it sounded cool.

Hello! I have a request idea, but idk if you'd want to do it since it's a bit silly. 😂 But here it is anyway; &TEAM with a s/o who can't eat with chopsticks, how would they handle the situation and how would they discover this fact. (I'm sorry it's really weird, but I'm usually struggling eating with chopsticks so I came up with this to feel better lol)

He watches you for a moment, observing how your fingers are in the wrong position and how you struggle to pick up the rice. There is an amused smile on his face until he feels like you've embarrassed yourself enough.

He puts his hand over yours and repositions your fingers the right way while he helps you pick up some rice. He won't laugh at you directly but later when he's alone, he will think about it and chuckle.

Doesn't notice right away but when he does he will snort. Tries to cover up his laugh with a cough but you know damn well he just made fun of you. He apologizes and offers to help you pick up your food.

Makes it his mission to teach you how to use them properly but he will laugh every time you mess up. Not because he makes actual fun of you but because he thinks you're adorable.

Makes fun of you right to your face. (Also because he thinks it's cute how you keep trying) Every time he reaches out to help you, you swat his hand away because you're stubborn.

When some time has passed and you're still struggling, he gets a fork for you and laughs silently so you won't hear him but you can see his chest vibrate so you know he's still laughing at you.

Even reaches for your fingers to place them in the right position. Not because you can't do it but because he wants to touch you. He would never laugh at you for such thing but he will smile like a dork every time you use chopsticks in the future.

Be prepared for a lifetime of endless teasing from this guy. Watches you struggle and doesn't even try to help you out. Little shit. Has a big smirk on his face as he watches you, but he can't hide his lovesick puppy eyes.

When you give up and get a fork, he'll tease you even more. But when you ask him to stop being a tease and help you out, he will. No hesitation. But he would still continue to bully you with it.

Sweetest little cinnamon roll ever! Almost immediately notices your discomfort and asks if you need any help. When you say 'yes' he will patiently explain it to you and show you how to use chopsticks.

If you get frustrated or annoyed because it won't work, no worries. Jo had a fork next to him because he had a feeling you would need it. Won't even mention it anymore afterwards. He's just happy you're comfortable while eating.

A mix of Yuma and Fuma. He doesn't notice right away but when he does, he laughs. Sorry, he can't help it. But he laughs out of adoration not because he wants to make fun of you necessarily.

It will become an inside joke but that's a different story. He will make it his priority to teach you how to use them and sends videos of people messing up with chopsticks to make you feel better.

If he wasn't Japanese, he would've probably struggled with them too, tbh. Has a confused look on his face when he watches you struggle. It takes a moment before he realizes you're from a different culture, one that doesn't use chopsticks.

He won't laugh. . . maybe chuckle but nothing to make fun of you. He laughs at himself for not realizing it sooner. If you ask for help, he will give it to you immediately but if you don't he'd just get you a fork.

This is someone who grew up in Germany so he is used to both forks and chopsticks. He watches you struggle for a good minute and tells you he did too when he had to learn how to use them.

Sends you some tutorials from youtube so you can learn on your own accord. He wouldn't be mad if you just eat with a fork because it's just utensils. There's bigger problems than chopsticks to worry about.

Just Family Things

One thing Derek Hale was adept at was not talking about his family. Which is why he never pushed the topic. Even entering a whole year with (Y/N). He was simply grateful they were by his side.

Though, there were times he felt like they were ashamed of him and that was the reason they had never introduced him to their family. Still, he didn’t feel it was his place to bring it up. They were happy enough together and he didn’t want to ruin it.

As the Christmas season started to make itself known, Derek noticed (Y/N) growing restless. They were hyper-fixated on cleaning their home, overstocking their food, and setting up their Christmas decorations perfectly. It was an obsessive behavior he had never seen before in them.

Even when hunting and fighting supernatural creatures, (Y/N) was always level headed, astute, and they never let their guard down. But as they ran from side to side, fixing things no one else would have thought were wrong, he couldn’t help but wonder what was going on behind their actions.

They were stress cleaning the bathroom with a toothbrush one morning, kneeling on the floor, sweat forming on their forehead.

“(Y/N), what are you doing?” Derek asked leaning against the doorframe. “You’ve been stressed out these past few weeks and I know it’s not because of the pack coming over on Christmas.”

“It’s nothing, babe. I just need to clean up. Make sure everything is perfect. “

“Why though?” he chuckled. “It’s not like they would honestly care.”

“Ugh!” (Y/N) yelled out. “Okay, look. My family is coming over for Christmas.”

“R-really?”

“Yeah. They were gonna come on the first week of December, but I knew they were gonna flake, so I didn’t tell you.” They finally confessed. It felt like a weight had lifted from their shoulders. And now that they had started, they continued. “And they did cancel, so I just let it be. But they called me and told me they were going to be here for Christmas week. Now I gotta make sure this place is rid of anything they can criticize because they honestly will judge even the tiniest speck of dust.”

Derek was shocked. It was the first time (Y/N) had spoken about their family freely. Normally, they would avoid the topic, focusing on anything but that.

“So, I’m finally gonna meet the family,” he grinned. “Never thought I’d see the day.”

“Honestly, neither did I. They don't even know we live together.”

“Did you, um… did you not want them to meet me?” he finally said, his true feeling sprouting out.

“Oh, god no,” (Y/N) was quick to respond. “I didn’t want you to meet them.”

“Why not?”

“Look, I love my family. I do,” they continued. “And though I know they mean well, they are a very – how do I put this – a quite rowdy bunch that can offend just about anyone. They can get on your nerves very quickly, and I didn’t want you to look at me differently because of them.”

With a smile on his face, he extended his arm and propped them onto their feet. He wrapped his arms around them, engulfing them tightly. He placed a kiss atop their head and chucked slightly.

“I could never judge you for who your family is. I’ve had my fair share of embarrassing family members,” he spoke against their hair. “If I had any say, you would have never met Peter. But our families don’t define us, babe. And I’ll do the best I can to help you through this week.”

“Why couldn’t they have come on thanksgiving?” (Y/N) whined against his chest, letting out a deep sigh. They were frustrated, tired, and nervous. Feelings that always arose when speaking to and about their family. “Maybe we should just say we have no space here. You think they’ll cancel again?”

“I promise I won’t let them bother you,” Derek told them before giving them a comforting kiss. “We’ll get through this Christmas together, babe. I’ll help you with your family, and you’ll help me get through a whole night with the pack here.”

“Thank you, Der. I love you.”

“I love you more.”

Maybe, just maybe that would be their best Christmas yet.

How to Come Up with Time Lord Names

Sooooo...I did a letter-by-letter analysis of 230 names from the wiki's list of Time Lords, making sure I only chose characters that both 1) had names that sounded like part of the same language and 2) had their jobs listed so I could correlate name-segments with talents.

If you want to see my whole headcanon about how Time Lord names work and what each syllable means, I've put it on AO3. If you just want to know what sounds and syllables to include when you're coming up with names, the analysis I did of all those existing names is below the cut.

Most syllables consist of a consonant followed by a vowel.

A syllable can only contain one vowel (with the exception of IA, which acts like a single vowel).

Every syllable contains at least one consonant (with the exception of O, which can stand alone without a consonant attached).

About 46% of analyzed syllables add a second consonant after the vowel. About 18% of analyzed syllables follow a vowel-consonant pattern. Only nine consonants are used after vowels. (C/K/Ch, D, F/Ph/P, L/LL, M/N, R, S/Sh, T/Th, X)

Writing Reflection

This year was a crazy writing year, if I'm being completely honest, and in many different ways. The biggest change for me this year in terms of writing was discovering the JBBingo, along with AUgust, they really both inspired and pushed me to create more writing content and I loved taking a part in both of them.

The goal of this year is to pretty much finish write and share more than I have done this year, so hopefully 250000~ or more words this time around.

【History Note】

Yang Yuhuan (Chinese: 楊玉環;26 June 719 – 15 July 756), often known as Yang Guifei (楊貴妃, with Guifei being the highest rank for imperial consorts during her time), and known briefly by the Taoist nun name Taizhen (太真) was the beloved consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang（唐玄宗） during his later years. She is known as one of the Four Beauties of ancient China.

During the An Lushan Rebellion, as Emperor Xuanzong and his cortege were fleeing from the capital Chang'an to Chengdu, the emperor's guards demanded that he put Yang to death because they blamed the rebellion on her cousin Yang Guozhong and the rest of her family. The emperor capitulated and reluctantly ordered his attendant Gao Lishi to supervise her forced suicide.

Many people think that she has always been a very fat woman. In fact, this is not the case. When she was a girl, princesses（As Emperor Xuanzong of Tang son wife）, Taoist priests, and imperial concubines all had great physical differences. Its makeup and hairstyle are also constantly changing because of new fashion trends.
