succession s4 e5 recap: swedish elon and his logan roy tribute band

time is a flat circle and we are back to ken hyping himself listening to rap, driving to the office.

anyone feeling nostalgic yet?

he is immediately caught off guard by the fact that roman and shiv are already there.

also he seems like the worst boss ever.

i really don't like ken when he is not hitting rock bottom.

(there is a movie about a sleeping robot in a cave that takes up too much time in this episode. let's not get into all that)

the old guard checks up on the CE-bros before their trip to norway.

turns out mattson wants them all there (why wouldn't he?) so THE GANG IS GOING TO NORWAY! lets bleed the swede!*

speaking of rational: how are we feeling about the shiv/mattson potential here? i honestly have zero objections.

he calls the sibs a tribute band which is harsh. even for a scandi, it's fucking harsh.

we get the strangest fight in tv history:

lol @ us for thinking this was an important moment for the two of them and then it's a fight about white sneakers and fat earlobes.

i sure hope shiv fucked lukas.

roman receives a photo of his dead dad and it doesn't really put him in the right place to negotiate with mattson:

i have a feeling it will be all good vibes until he learns about her pregnancy. there's always something rotten in the state of denmark (or norway, or sweden, but it's all the same).

the waystar-team receives the kill list after the offer and it's very stressful for a few people who made themselves suffer through a session in the sauna:

So, No Henry in S4 of the Witcher, they cancelled MoS2 and supposedly cut him out of the Flash movie. UGH. At least, there's still hopes for Enola 3, the Argyle movie and that Guy Richie project! Oh, and hopefully him in a kilt for the Highlander remake.

Hey, I just wanted to ask (out of curiosity) if you make all the meshes for your cc yourself. If so, amazing work, your progress is astounding. If not, still amazing work for all the textures and actually having to search for meshes that would fit.

You're doing the work of the gods and I absolutely love that someone else around here is interested in the same time period! 💖😜

Heck no! I wish I had that kind of raw talent... for now, it eludes me!

Most of my CC are frankenmeshes of EA clothes and objects. I literally go shopping around in S4S for forms I like :D For instance, the Mycenaean bronze cuirass an edit of the Get Together knight armor. The sarcophagus kilt was me stitching together the back to the front of the high-low Realm of Magic skirt. Sometimes, however, I will source from CC with an open TOU, such as in the case of the Queen Puabi hair which borrows from the lovely @buzzardly28.

Textures are a mixed bag. Sometimes I will borrow from EA, other times I will paint them myself. I find texturing from scratch a lot easier than meshing from scratch!

I have a wide open TOU btw. So if anyone ever wants to mutilate my mutilations, go right ahead! Just tag me so I can download them too ;)

first thing that came into mind was aggressive!John from TLD... omg i can't even think about it without my heart aching (i'm not kidding). john is such a sweetheart and so loyal in the beginning i think they did him really bad in s4. (and wtf was he thinking when he married mArY??? seriously dude!)

there is also the internalized homo/biphobia and queerbaiting but my hopes that moftiss will overcome this and fix it in s5 will never cease

🐇 Do you write for yourself, for others or both?

i would say both :) writing definitely helps me deal with my *eyeroll* fEeLinGs... but i also wanna impact people or better- wanna give them a good read? (which i hope i can even give 'em lol)

ANYGAYS i think writing and reading fanfics is this beautiful cycle of giving and receiving. from comments to kudos to reblogs to likes... it is an everlasting cycle and it is amazing. definitely motivates me to keep going... also makes me happy to support other writers ♡

oh my! too many to mention here! i'm currently obsessing over @totallysilvergirl's "Drawn to Stars" universe. i (basically binge-) read the main story but also two sequels and can't wait to read the last sequel (that is co-written with @7-percent i think? i really hope i am not tagging the wrong person here) soon! and the kilt!John story ;)

As always start out with my favorite shows and have broken them down into my 10 favorite dramas, 5 favorite comedies, and my favorite miniseries. A lot of great stuff out this year, even with the strikes, though sadly a lot of my shows either had final seasons or got cancelled. Will miss them but also looking forward to my shows in the new year. 📺

Kurt Fashion Retrospective s4

Also hoped to combine seasons but nope. I talk too much. Hopefully 5-6 I can do together. Link to masterpost

Season 4: First off, as well as the lack of skirts/kilts, also sad we never see the harnesses again after s2. What’s the deal? Maybe now they stay in the bedroom ;)

Anyway. So, season 4 is a bit of a darker season? Kurt’s all heartbroken etc, and we see it with how much black/grey Kurt wears. It’s only in the last few eps and leading into s5 (enter the Crack era) that the brighter colours show up. But honestly here it’s not too weird bc s3 Kurt wasn’t one for bright colours anyway.

Esp in NY, we have Kurt develop his style more. Also, he’s not always all dolled up (I think partly bc we see him more just around his home, whereas earlier seasons he’s dressed up for school). So we get cozy Kurt, in those hoodies I love.

But we do see how Kurt has settled, he’s feeling comfortable and confident in NY so he’s toned down the outfits a lot more, doesn’t let them speak for him. Part of me his sad bc some of his looks can be a bit plain/boring/unKurt, but also Chris is beautiful so he can wear anything and look great. Omg in Sadie Hawkins when Kurt legit just in a henley and jeans. Like, who are you.

And again, lots of black. Maybe he’s mourning his relationship lol. Really, not until around Lights Out do we see Kurt sneaking in some colour. I’ll discuss it more in s5 but really tho, Kurt never really did the ‘bunch of bright colours’ thing? His go to colour was red, but that goes with his black/white ensembles. Even s2, there’s Never Been Kissed with the yellow sweater, there’s some pale greens/blues scattered? Again, I’ll discuss more s5...

But anyway, this is Kurt settling into who he is, a lot less statement pieces. And, looking over, not as many ascots as I remember? SOme New Rachel and Glease, but those were the bigger, tucked into collar kind. And then most are in the last few eps, and those are smaller style that still show collarbone. Maybe setting up s5 style?

Honestly, I think s4 is my fav for Kurt style. First off, more of his fluffy hair rather than the ski slope lol. But also, with his comfy at-home clothes, or his workout clothes for school... Idk, just a different Kurt and I like it. He ofc still rocks a suit, but not as fun as before. A lot of... just a suits, not as many ‘Kurt’ twists. But I guess he’s working, he’s trying to build a career, so has to be more muted. Still, I miss the skirts and capes. And the harnesses.

So, least fav of the season....

I just.... I mean, first off, stands out so much bc rest of season he’s worn Nothing like this. And he never wears this again. I know the theme of ep, everyone wore red/white/pink, but omg Kurt has red clothes that are better. Idk what happened here, sorry Kurt but no.

Now for my favs.... there are so many Help.... Just assume any hoodie he wears I love lol

I dk why, just love it. Love him int he white jeans, love the shirt with peak at collarbone, love how it’s simple, but still stylish... just love

omg why did we never see this again. Love the tie-thing omg, v punk vibes. And the haiirrrrrrr 10/10

Kurt should show his shoulders more omg. We get some later in Tested but just. Let him wear tank tops. And off the shoulder tops. this is so comfy and pretty and I’m so here for it

Had to include this bc it’s so s1 Kurt (baggy pants????) and I like to think he kept those old looks. Great painting outfit, he’s so cute here omg

the only real thing I am remembering loving from s1, is lovesick Jamie, Claire’s boobs, Claire’s curls, and CLAIRE’S BOOBS.
