this is solely bc i've been doing karaoke for the past 3 hours but who of all the aot men (eren, jean, reiner) would prob be really good at singing and might serenade their s/o?
(and i feel like by this point, you can just 100% assume that porco is included when i say aot men)
hello hello! im sorry that you asked me this in august and i'm only just getting to it now 💀 i feel like i've been so absent after tbaw ended so im gonna try to get caught up on asks that i've been putting off
sorry about the wait 💗
Tumblr media
╰┈➤ karaoke - aot.
ft. eren, jean, porco, reiner. cw. gn!reader, alcohol
Tumblr media
⋙ eren jaeger.
LOVES karaoke! is usually the first to suggest it but if someone else beats him to it, he's a very loud supporter
has great stage presence and excellent theatrics but is not great at actually singing, mostly just likes being there to have fun, goof around, and have some drinks
likes fast rap songs like right round by flo rida or rap god by eminem.
also really likes popular songs that people can't help singing along to like bohemian rhapsody by queen, don't stop believing by journey, sweet caroline by neil diamond, since u been gone by kelly clarkson, party in the usa by miley cyrus.... the list could go on
really good at getting the shyer people to sing along too by taking some of the attention off of them by doing something crazy
⋙ jean kirstein.
not a huge karaoke fan but after a few drinks, he gets really into it
surprisingly has a really great singing voice but leans toward picking songs that everyone knows so they can sing along and he doesn't look like a show off
mr brightside by the killers, all-star by smashmoouth, livin' on a prayer by bon jovi. he doesn't pick as goofy songs as eren, but a similar vein
when singing he performs for you. he's looking at you and singing to you the whole time, even if it's not a romantic song. the others get on his case about it but he can't help it, he just wants to impress you
pretends like he hates doing duets when you ask him to, but gets really into it and smiley the whole time 🥺
⋙ porco galliard.
HATES karaoke. literally will not go unless you and the other drag him out, but even then he won't sing at all and will just eat and get drunk while the rest of you make fools of yourself
but after a few drinks, he always gets annoyed with someone (reiner) and takes the mic away to "show him how it's done"
picks annoying songs just to piss everyone off: mmmbop by hanson, baby by justin beiber, the national anthem
when he gets really drunk he starts showing off and it turns out porco's got some pipes on him!! he'll jokingly pick my heart will go on by celine dion and everyone will be staring at him with their jaws on the floor because he can actually carry the notes
gets irrationally angry the next day when he finds out that you've posted videos of him singing on instagram or snap and DEMANDS that you delete them
⋙ reiner braun.
he's very shy at first. he'll turn down any offers to sing and he'll just kinda hum along or sing quietly to himself as others perform but after a couple of drinks he starts to loosen up
will join in with eren and jean if they do some goofy rendition of let it go or will sing into the mic if you hold it out to him in the middle of your song
but after too many drinks he gets a little in his feels. he'll start picking someone like you by adele, can't help falling in love by elvis presley, perfect by ed sheeran
bless his heart, reiner tries his absolute best but he just doesn't have the best voice. but you appreciate the effort and make sure to smile and nod encouragingly to him while he's on stage
probably cries on stage during one of his love songs and then you and the others have to do damage control to get him off the stage before you all get kicked out

Miles x Gwen Karaoke Headcanons
Miles and Gwen strike me as a people who listen to a lot of different things and have music as a big part of their lives. This is reflected in the songs they sing at karaoke:
Miles likes to sing pop, R&B, jazz, and hip-hop songs with chill vibes, depending on his mood. He may also fit in some Spanish songs in there
Gwen likes singing rock/metal/punk songs that have memorable drum parts. If she's feeling particularly aggressive, she'll go for heavy metal songs with intense drumming portions
When Miles is the mood for a love song, he sings the lovey-dovey, fluffy songs (think Taylor Swift's "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me" and Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are", Michael Buble) because he's a ray of sunshine
When Gwen wants to sing about romance, she goes for the angsty romance/heartbreak songs (eg. Adele, angsty Taylor Swift songs, Evanescence, Sam Smith, Linkin Park) because she's an angst-lord
They duet a bunch of Disney songs, including "A Whole New World" from Aladdin with Miles as Aladdin and Gwen as Jasmine, "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" from the Lion King, "Breaking Free" from High School Musical
When they want to flex on each other, they try to one-up each other by rapping increasingly difficult hip-hop songs, including those of Eminem and Kendrick Lamar
They've listened to a whole bunch of Broadway musical songs as part of their playlists, so they may duet songs from Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Mean Girls, etc.
Older songs they duet include things like "Fly Me to the Moon" (Michael Bublé version), "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis, and songs from ABBA (eg. "Dancing Queen", "Mama Mia"), Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, etc.
They obviously go for classics like "Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears, "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys, "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child, "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi, etc.
When they want to sing raunchy stuff, they pick stuff from the 2010's including songs from Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, etc. They probably cringe at how risque and explicit the lyrics are

Hello, it's me I'm the problem your secret santa again!! Your gift is coming along nicely! Today I wanted to ask what song(s) you associate with Tamlin/Briar or/and what are your favorite songs in general 🎅
Hello! ❤️
Before I start this list, let me just say that I'm so, so eager to see the finished piece! *excited hand clapping*
I’m not sure how to describe my taste in music, except “hodgepodge”. I’m one of the rare people in this fandom who is not a “Swiftie”. 😐 I like a handful of her songs, but that tends to be true with most of the artists I listen to, especially the conventionally popular artists. I like a song or two, and that’s about it. (So... Can we still be friends? haha)
On to the list! I went through my YouTube likes, the songs on my phone, Spotify, etc., and here are a handful of songs that feel very Brilin to me.
1. “Can’t Help Falling in Love (With You)”. It’s a simple classic love song, and the lyrics are so perfect. Cliche, maybe, cheesy, sure, but I like it anyway. 🥰 Fun fact, the lyrics were originally written for a woman’s perspective, so the verse: “Shall I stay, Would it be a sin, If I can’t help, Falling in love with him?” was changed when Elvis recorded it. A few of my favorite covers can be found on YouTube, if you want to check them out: Chase Eagleson (male cover); Alyssa Baker (female cover); as well as Boyce Avenue (male cover, also one of my absolute favorite cover artists).
2. “Monster” by Imagine Dragons [for Tamlin]
3. “Fix You” by Coldplay - cover by Alex Goot
4. “Start of Time” by Gabrielle Aplin [for Briar]
5. “Carry You” by Ruelle, Fleurie
Honorable Mention: "Dandelions" by Ruth B. [I've seen this song recommended for both Feylin and Brilin, and while I do like it, it's -obviously- not in my top 5.]
I think that’s a good start. 😊 I have mood/ambient music I listen to for writing, but I thought you might prefer music with words.
You also asked what my favorite songs in general are, so if you’ll indulge me, I will say that my overall vibe lately would probably qualify as Easy Listening. One of my all-time favorite songs that just haunts me is “Wicked Game” as covered by Ursine Vulpine and Annaca. The lyrics would probably fit Feysand better than any other ACOTAR couple, but I discovered it before I joined the fandom, so even though that’s not my favorite ship, I still love the song and replay it often.
Lewis Capaldi is one of the few artists whose work I’ve played on repeat as well, and the covers on YouTube are just as good, especially “Someone You Loved” by Jennel Garcia. Beyond that, Josh Groban, Hayley Westenra, Adele... I seem to prefer Easy Listening to Pop, but like I said, if I like the song, it goes into my collection. Some of the pop artists I still listen to include N*Sync, the Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears (from my teenage years). In case you couldn’t guess, yes, I was a 90s kid. 😁
I had a lot of fun going through my music. I even found a few oldies but goodies to add to my rotation, so thanks for that. 💞 And thanks for dropping by! As always, my inbox is open. 😊

Hello author!
I'm relatively new around here and I was perusing the asks about dear Adele and saw she likes dancing! I dance a lot of partner dances myself (ballroom/swing/latin) and I was wondering if she prefers to lead or follow? Does she have a favorite style? Do you have any dance headcanons or songs you can picture Welhaven and Adele dancing to?
Oh hello, darling! Welcome to the blog. Hope you like the fluff and angst with vampire wife and the overall 50's vibe and aesthetic uwu
Adele wouldn't mind either, as long as you're both having fun. Though she's a bit more used to leading, from centuries of dancing with other women in the ballroom before. Adele does enjoy doing slow dances like the rumba, waltz, though she won't mind doing the tango or any fun dance she and Welhaven can come up with in their kitchen dance floor. Hey, if it's fun, it's fun!
For the songs, I personally would headcanon the wives dancing to Frank Sinatra (i.e. Fly Me to The Moon, The Way You Look Tonight, It Had to Be You, Strangers in The Night & Come Fly With Me) and a bit of Elvis Presley's Rock and Roll songs (i.e. I Need Your Love Tonight, Got A Lot of Livin' to Do, & I Want You, I Need You, I Love You).

Kacey Musgraves Tells Ted Cruz to Get Off His ‘High Horse’ at Austin City Limits
Tumblr media
Kacey Musgraves used her set at Austin City Limits on Sunday night to throw some musical shade at Senator Ted Cruz.
The moment went down in the middle of the country star’s performance of fan-favorite Golden Hour song “High Horse,” singing, “‘Cause everyone knows someone who kills the buzz/ Every time they open up their mouth,” before adding, “Ted Cruz… I said what I said” as the assembled crowd roared with approval.
Ahead of her night at ACL, Musgraves also shared a stunning selfie on Twitter with the caption, “Let’s go Texas.”
It’s hardly the first time the star, who hails from the small Texas town of Mineola, hasn’t held back with her opinion of her home state’s conservative junior senator. Last year, she made her feelings known about Cruz taking a vacation to Mexico in the middle of the winter storm that ripped through Texas — and left millions of residents in a state of devastating emergency — by selling “Cruzin’ for a Bruzin’” T-shirts. (All proceeds from the cheeky merch went directly to nonprofits like Feed the People Dallas, Casa Marianella, and the American Red Cross of South and Central Texas.)
Later during her show, Musgraves also criticized the Supreme Court, saying, “Eff the Supreme Court, honestly. We’re in a weird time but we’ve got each other. … There is a light, I promise.”
This summer, the “Slow Burn” singer took part in Adele’s all-female lineup for the superstar’s dual shows at London festival BST Hyde Park and also covered Elvis Presley’s classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love” for the Elvis soundtrack.
Hear Musgraves name-check Ted Cruz during “High Horse” below.

Told you guys I’d ramble in due time.
I absolutely adore Bravely Default 2. It came at a really bad time cos I can’t waste 70 hours on a jrpg, but well, it’s too late to be concerned about that now. And as is tradition with me obsessing over a new game / show / whatever, you’ll basically find a fullblown review disguised as ramblings right under the cut. Be aware that I’m gonna talk about EVERYTHING, so spoilers are a given. Some maybe even for the previous Bravely Default games.
Also, if you wanna talk about this game in any capacity, hit me up, I’m DESPERATE to talk more about it.
Just for reference on how long this is gonna be, I made a voice recording while driving to remember all the points I wanna make, and that recording is almost 2 hours long. I did cut it down but still, this is gonna be a lot.
I’ll start off with the things that actually bugged me about the game, since there are only 3 things that really bothered me. First of, I really don’t like that you can name Seth. He has too much personality to be a self insert and player integration is not that big of a part in the game that this decision can be justified. It wouldn’t bother me that much if it didn’t leave a bad mark on the ending. First of all, we were robbed of Gloria desperately shouting for Seth, which makes the impact work less, and it’s just so prevalent that the name can’t be said because you have all the normal sound design going. If they’d just let the credits still play I wouldn’t have batted an eye, but because every other sound comes in it’s so obvious they’re just silently shouting in this scene, which makes it look silly. Like I said, this decision is more a detriment than an addition, and it’s a shame it casts a shadow on an otherwise heartfelt ending.
Speaking about lost potential, the other thing that really bothers me is the lost potential in certain plot points and character conclusions. I mainly mean Adam and Edna here. Both of them have been built up to be these formidable foes but they just, die. If it was just Adam I’d be fine with it, since you expect Edna to backstab him and be the actual big bad of the story, but I cannot fathom why they dropped Edna this HARD. If not Edna herself, I don’t understand why we don’t get more of a reaction from the Fairies and especially Adelle. I mean, Edna was her sole reason she left for her journey in the first place, then Edna dies and that’s it? No part where she grieves for a second? No concern from the others about Adelle? Mind you, I haven’t finished all the Sidequests, so maybe there actually is one in which this is addressed, but I think even just a Party Chat after Bad End 1 would have been sufficient to show how Adelle suddenly feels about the loss of Edna. It would have made Bad End 2 / The Secret Ending even more impactful, because, yeah, of course, you kinda know Adelle isn’t going to turn her back on fairy kind, but one of the reasons she doesn’t leave is because if Enda didn’t get a happy ending, then she shouldn’t either. It would have been amazing foreshadowing if she showed this sentiment before this scene happened. Other than that, it’s a shame that we know so little about Edna, or rather, how she became “bad”. I get she’s supposed to be corrupted by the Night’s Nexus, but how did it even come to this? It can’t have been a gradual thing, after all, Adelle says Edna was always good natured and then just disappeared one day. Really would have loved seeing more of that plot point.
Ok, last gripe I have, some choices in the soundtrack and sound design. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the OST, and I will get to that, but damn, whatever Revo used for the lead instrument in Wiswald hurts my ears. It’s a really good track, but I always have to turn down my volume because these high pitched sounds physically hurt. And for sound design. Dude, the Night’s Nexus is the least threatening, nightmare fueled abomination that ever existed. I get that its growl is kinda supposed to be layered with Edna’s or sth, but it, it just sounds silly. If they went the route of just swinging between different voices or began distorting it from phase to phase, it would have been fine. But the choice they made really made an otherwise creepy design just absolutely silly.
Ok, enough jammering, on to the good stuff. Like I said, there’s going to be a lot, so I’ll try to be brief in each aspect.
Gameplay
I honestly like the new battle mechanics more than the old ones. This individual, turn based system feels way more dynamic and it’s easier to strategies in battles. Because nothing made me more angry than setting up for a heal and the enemy suddenly being faster than me and killing my healer. Now it’s easier to plan ahead a bit.
I also found myself experimenting more with the jobs. Not sure what it really is, but none of the party members leaning more towards certain types of jobs and the job leveling being way faster probably helped.
And I know some people get up in arms because the boss sometimes can be a real pain in the ass (looking at you pope dude), I still found it very interesting getting around counters or even using these counters as a benefit. As an example, I made Adelle my main physical fighter and gave her lots of counter abilities to help her profit from being countered by enemies themselves. Now, she can attack enemies, get countered, automatically evade that counter and earn a BP at the same time. Made a lot of boss fights way easier and fun to exploit.
Music
Ok, I will try my best to be really, really brief, because in my recording this part takes up almost 40 minutes. Anyways, Revo might have just become one of my absolute favorite composers ever. I don’t know what kind of magic he used, but I initially wasn’t that impressed with the OST, but every time I listened to it, I just fell in love harder and harder. Before getting into specifics, I wanna highlight the two things that made me love this OST overall. First of all, this soundtrack almost seems like a refinement of BD’s. While losing some of that fairytale vibe, it sounds even more fantasy now. And in contrast to the original, this almost sounds more balanced? Like, BD’s OST felt high energy throughout, BD2’s on the other hand manages to find a good balance between high and low energy pieces. Like, the character themes or battle themes are absolute hype, but the overworld themes are a lot calmer and easier to listen to while exploring. Second big point that makes this soundtrack amazing is that Revo is an absolute god at using emotional progression/storytelling and leitmotifs in his songs. And heck, do I love myself my leitmotifs. You’ve got some obvious ones, like the final battle theme in which all the character themes and other leitmotifs are integrated. Then you got some maybe more subtle once, just like how the overworld themes are just the main theme, just a lot calmer and using the lead instruments of the towns of the areas.
But my absolute favourites gotta be the character themes and the main theme. I love how fitting the themes for the characters are and in general, each of them is such a bop. At first I prefered Elvis’, because I sure am a sucker for jazzy vibes, but over time Adelle’s became my fav. It’s just something about the trumpets, and how the theme almost sounds a bit melancholic and bittersweet, that drew me in. And considering her story, mostly her bad end, that the bittersweet tone really fits.
Then there’s the main theme. Just like BD’s it shouts “triumphant anthem” and it definitely gives you a very familiar vibe, but I’d argue it has even better emotional progression. Heck, the first time I heard the music start up in the reveal trailer, I didn’t have to look at the screen to know this is gonna be a BD game. Also, the credit song version had me weeping at the true end. I’m someone who’s very easily affected by music (if me shouting about soundtracks on this blog wasn’t proof enough) and just hearing that ending song, getting the after credits scene, just for the second credits to start as a freaking duet. Dude, at that point I just started sobbing, I’m not gonna lie. Just this little part showed how much Revo knows how to put emotion in a song and also write it in such a way that he can elicit strong, emotional reactions from you too.
Story
People have been complaining how the story is too boring and kinda disappointing in comparison to the last one, but I just think the games tried to accomplish different things here. Since the BD series is a celebration of old, classic jrpgs, “cliche” storytelling is a given. Though, BD did throw a lot of meta stuff in there too. BD2 in contrast just feels like a direct execution of that initial idea. It feels familiar, it feels comfy and it feels safe. Except for the little things with the endings and then overwriting the Nexus’ “save file”, BD2 doesn’t really get that meta, which is totally fine. It doesn’t try to reinvent or innovate anything, it just wants to be a fantasy story, that might be cliche, but still fun and enjoyable in its own right.
I’d also argue that the pacing is a lot better than the old game, because with BD I sometimes found myself skipping through scenes to get on with the story. Not that this game didn’t have me rushing through stuff as well, but I found it kept my intrigue way better than the original.
Characters
Next to the music, this is the part that I absolutely love the most. While, yes, they did lose a lot of potential with some characters, mostly with the villains, the main cast is just so much fun. I love these 4 dorks so, so much.
I honestly can’t stand how much people compare them to the original cast. Yes, ofc, I’ve been doing my fair share of comparisons too, but calling these four a more boring version of BD’s party physically hurts me. Because except for some initial impressions, the Heroes of Light are completely different from our beloved Warriors of Light.
While yes, Seth and Gloria give off strong Tiz and Agnes vibes at first, they both grow into such different characters that they’re not really comparable. I think this shows with Adelle and Elvis even more. I do understand how people could compare Adelle and Edea, since they’re both the feisty girl type, but I can’t understand how people can see Ringabel and Elvis as the same character type. While those two are the “suave” party members, they act so differently from another. And that’s honestly apparent the first time you meet them.
Anyways, I love these 4 so much.
We technically don’t know a lot about Seth at all, but they manage to pull so much out of just the fact that he’s a sailor, that it makes him really endearing, really fast.
I was kinda disinterested with Gloria at first, because again, the initial impression was Agnés2.0, but she grew on me a lot. Gloria is way more hard headed and honestly sassy in comparison to Agnés and I absolutely adore it.
Elvis. Elvis, my man. I love this fantasy scottosh wizard so, so much. He’s such a ridiculous character but so endearing at the same time. You got all this dorkiness, with him setting himself on fire as a student, him doing god knows what for a good drink or just laughing danger and prejudice in the face. But then you got his super empathetic and caring side. Mind you, most of his wise moments come from quoting Lady Emma, but still, as much as he’s hopeless with certain social situations, he’s actually still really good at reading the room and playing things smart. He’s a smart and powerful idiot, which makes him a danger to everyone and himself, and I love him for it. (I also can’t believe they called him Lesley I MEAN COME ON)
And then there’s Adelle. I liked her from the start, but I didn’t think she would stick out to me. I think now she’s my favourite character. Not even talking about all the stuff that happens in chapter 3 and onward, because these story threads are awesome in their own right, but there’s just something about her personality that’s interesting and appealing to me. Like I said, I’m not surprised people compare her to Edea, I did too at first, but while Edea walks very close to the line of a Tsundere, I was really surprised that Adelle is, well, not a Tsundere at all. Yeah, of course she’s putting Elvis down a lot, but that stems more from her preventing his ego from going to his head than her being all embarrassed. No, Adelle is actually really well adjusted when it comes to communication. While it’s hilarious that she and Elvis met with her chucking her shoes at him, the two just got along well right from the start. Adelle in general has this really open and helpful personality, but also doesn’t shy away from putting her foot down, even if that sometimes comes out as an embarrassed sputter. She’s also the mother hen of the group. She looks out for the other three and gets concerned about them real fast.
I dunno, Adelle just really grew on me over the course of this game, and then her kinda being paired with Elvis too, as partners and as partners, makes me like her even more. Because as much as I like their personalities individually, I like their character dynamic even more. I honestly love the relationships between all four of them a lot. You really feel them grow closer as friends and all the little character sidequests just always made me really happy.
Conclusion
You might not believe me, but I really held back there. This could probably have been 3 times its length. As much as I love this game, it’s of course not perfect. It struggles and flails in some parts a lot and it certainly has some aspects that might turn people off. But for me, it was just a very familiar and comfy game that didn’t necessarily deliver anything new, but that told its story in such a way that it still got me excited to keep going. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing and the conclusion of the story actually got me to cry. While not groundbreaking, this game is highly enjoyable and leaves you absolutely satisfied at the end.
Also, I would like to iterate that I am desperate to get more content about this game, so if you wanna chat about it, hit me up.
Anyways, anyone else felt like having a fever dream when everybody in chapter 2 started talking fantasy scottish? Cos I sure did.

Taylor Swift Surpasses Whitney Houston for Most Weeks at #1 Among Women in Billboard 200’s History
By: Keith Caulfield for Billboard Date: September 27th 2020
Tumblr media
Taylor Swift’s Folklore album returns to #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, collecting a seventh nonconsecutive week atop the tally. In doing so, Swift surpasses Whitney Houston’s longstanding record, among women, for the most cumulative weeks at #1, across all of her chart-topping albums. Swift’s total weeks at #1 now stands at 47, one more than Houston’s tally of 46. Folklore earned 87,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 24 (up 97 percent), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Of Folklore’s 87,000 units earned in the tracking week ending Sept. 24, album sales comprise 56,000 (up 339 percent), SEA units comprise 30,000 (down 4 percent) equaling 39.8 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs) and TEA units total 1,000 (up 38 percent).
Folklore’s fortunes perked up in the newest tracking week, as Swift sold more signed CD copies of the album through her official webstore and via independent record stores (as she’s done in previous weeks) and also issued more merchandise/album bundles in her webstore. She additionally profits from the release of a new live version of the album’s single “Betty,” as performed on the Academy of Country Music Awards (held on Sept. 16). The live rendition was released to YouTube shortly after the awards, while it reached digital retail and other streaming services on Sept. 18. For tracking purposes, the new version of “Betty” is combined with its original version.
Swift also promoted Folklore on streaming services with another release (on Sept. 21) of a thematic “chapter” of songs from the album (as she’s done in previous weeks). Such collections of songs get prominent placement on streaming services, appearing as the latest release from Swift.
Following Swift and Houston, Adele has the third-most weeks at #1 among women, with 34 weeks from her two #1s: 21 (24 in 2011-12) and 25 (10 in 2015-16). The all-time leaders with the most weeks at #1 are The Beatles, with 132 weeks at #1 across their record 19 chart-topping albums. The male act (and solo artist) with the most weeks atop the list is Elvis Presley, with 67.
Here’s a roundup of every act with at least 30 weeks at No. 1, since the Billboard 200 chart began publishing on a regular weekly basis on March 24, 1956: The Beatles (132 weeks), Elvis Presley (67), Garth Brooks (52), Michael Jackson (51), Taylor Swift (47), Whitney Houston (46), The Kingston Trio (46), Elton John (39), Fleetwood Mac (38), The Rolling Stones (38), Harry Belafonte (37), The Monkees (37), Prince (35), Adele (34), Eminem (34), Eagles (30) and Mariah Carey (30).
Folklore additionally continues to have the most weeks at #1 for any album since Drake’s Views ruled for 13 nonconsecutive weeks in 2016. Folklore also continues to have the most weeks at #1 among all non-R&B/hip-hop titles, and albums by women, since Adele’s 25 landed 10 nonconsecutive weeks at #1 in 2015-16.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Oct. 3-dated chart (where Folklore returns to No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's website on Sept. 29. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram.

In doing so, Swift’s total weeks at No. 1 -- across all seven of her chart-topping albums -- now stands at 47, a new record among female artists. She surpasses Whitney Houston’s sum of 46 weeks at No. 1. (Houston held the record for the most weeks at No. 1 among women since 1987.)
Houston notched four No. 1 albums: her self-titled debut (14 weeks at No. 1 in 1986), her sophomore release Whitney (11 in 1987), The Bodyguard soundtrack (20 in 1992-93) and I Look to You (one week in 2009).
Following Swift and Houston, Adele has the third-most weeks at No. 1 among women, with 34 weeks from her two No. 1s: 21 (24 in 2011-12) and 25 (10 in 2015-16).

So, my thoughts on bd2 so far (still not done) are both spoilery and...a little salty, so under a cut they go.  I’ll get the good out of the way first.
BDII is pretty nice as a return to the brave/default battle system and asterisk system.  The controls are pretty fluid (once I realized I could press zr to unbrave in the middle of commands lol).  Music and visuals are both nice.  THE CHARACTER THEMES ARE DISTINCTIVE AGAIN (I still like BD1′s set the most, but in BD2 I can tell you which theme is which character’s and uh.  I wouldn’t be able to do that with b2nd’s).  “A Hectic Moment” is very fun.
And then like.  Both the story and parts of the game design are baffling to me.  I was not surprised by the prologue feeling dry because.  BD game.  Partially because it was a BD game I half-expected Sloan to defy his death flag parade and simply be forced to retire due to a wound or something similar but ok, he died.  And first chapter made me hopeful!  I don’t care at all for Orpheus (even as “love to hate” he just ends up kind of “meh”) and Anihal and Bernard felt a bit one note at first, but the twist with Castor where it seemed like his flaw was prejudice and then it was oh no backstabber was good.
The maniacal laughter kind of ruined it a bit, but still, good.  (On this note, Castor and ...pretty much every ch. 2 asterisk holder had me thinking for a while that the asterisks handed out by the woman might have been tampered with and were driving people nuts, but at this point, seems firmly not to be a case, Castor was ax-crazy on his own.  Okay.)  And a later flashback about Anihal and Bernard made me regret a bit that the latter had died.
But like also at this point I’m kind of concerned that there hasn’t been any inner party conflict.  Or like.........internal doubts.  Or anything.
Ch. 2 was initially a bit funny for everyone having The Accent but eventually I got properly into it and, yes, all three people grieving a lost child was pretty touching.
Screw those woods though and why is the institute set up like that??? I know this is an RPG but guys.  Guys.  they’re supposed to be brilliant at that institute, at least one person would have set up the bare minimum of a rope ladder so they didn’t have to deal with the nonsense in between floors.
And then there was Folie.  Folie’s dungeon is AMAZING.  Her job is good.
Her boss fight is utter bs when you’re punished for using two different mage jobs and the character in general is just.............idk.  I kind of preferred Mona’s death being accidental because it seems rather odd for someone like Folie who does not seem particularly attuned to others’ emotions to be like “ah yes, let me kill zis little girl and zen all of these people will be emotionally vulnerable for me to give zem my paintings” --yes, I also hated the accent.
I am of the opinion that there is no bad VA in this game (thus far) but goodness, the direction some of them were given.
Ch. 3 was interesting intrigue wise and the reveal with Adelle was GREAT but it also hinged very heavily on this being a BD game, since they made it obvious from the start of the chapter that, hmm, there’s something funny about her.  (Honestly my guess had been shapeshifting dragon, so I wasn’t quite surprised by her saving Martha, though I WAS a little surprised by Martha not SAVING HERSELF BY JUMPING AWAY BECAUSE SHE WAS A FREAKING DRAGOON.)  The party’s surprise at this is dealt with very quickly.  Elvis’ reaction is kind of cute but it also just...........seems to cement that there’s never going to be any inner-party conflict, and there doesn’t seem to be any internal character conflict either, so it’s kind of just.  Guys.  Pls.  Something interesting.
Coming back to world design: this religion feels so dumb and poorly-designed (Martha is in DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE LORD OF DRAGONS BUT ISN’T TRUSTED TO KNOW HIS WISHES???  THE FAIRY TRIALS ARE A ‘TRADITION’ BUT ALL THE DRAGONS ARE COOL WITH ADELLE???) and why is their holy hall full of crumbling walls and is, in fact, the only place I’ve found so far to “smash rock”?  Yes, it has been bugging me.
the highlight of ch. 4 was Lonsdale, because he might not be the most original character concept, but it was interesting to have an antagonist with morals who has a friendly drink with Seth and warning for him at the tavern.  (Also Seth’s piss-poor job at pretending to be just recovered from a cough for all of one sentence.  And, in my game, while wearing heavy armor.)  The low point was finding out how absolutely pointless Adam is.
It’s just....been very mixed and somewhat mediocre with the story, and lbr bd and b2nd both had issues with story too, but bd had an endearing cast that b2nd heavily borrowed from.  The BD2 warriors of light seem very obviously inspired by bd crew but Seth never grieves his lost crew or misses his hometown or shows any uncertainty about the question of him living again.  Gloria welcomes Elvis and Adelle easily even though they’re both clear about working in self-interest and there are never any trust issues even when Adelle’s concealed identity is revealed.
I’m not saying they should have had the exact same issues (esp since Gloria didn’t have any set up for mistrusting fairies) but they don’t have ANY issues.
I may now be at a point where Gloria does have an issue but it’s just kind of...1) there should have been at least a couple tell-tale hints about this sooner, it could have been as subtle as the king of Halcyonia gently suggesting she consider the marriages which would have painted him first as possibly evil, then as possibly just sexist or out-of-touch, and then finally you realize oh he knew and was hoping they could find other solution and trying to get her to consider a future that wasn’t dying (I think he knows.  or at least I hope because if they gotta do this every 200 years then Gloria????? who knows to pass this down????  were you gonna teach your traumatized companions the secrets of being a vestal-lite as you were dying? because you didn’t.) 2) it’s just kinda.  too late.  A part of me is checked out.  I know there is more and that the bd-style tweeest is finally starting, but this was the end of ch. 5 and both the main crew and story just haven’t been that interesting.  If this wasn’t a bd game and I hadn’t gotten impatient enough about wanting to know about one detail that I spoiled myself for it being a fake ending, there is a high chance that I would have watched the credits, gone “well, okay.  that was the game” and just set it aside.
And then maybe a few days later gone “wait they never explained the book was it buried in some request” because there is SO MUCH buried in requests and reloaded the game, but yeah.  I still wanna fill in the gaps of what I’m missing, but I’m probably going to be slowing my pace and I really doubt I’m going to be active in the fandom because none of the characters have really grabbed my interest that hard.
