I've been heavy flirting a Pitt!AU for Geek. Poor guy goes from subsisting on Slop to a lifelong Pink Paste addiction. His experiences in the Hole will inevitably inform his ideas for how a proper caged arena maze should be run.

Creating cards for friends part 2

Hey all. Next batch of cards for @suppuration​ This is the side we talked about being Mardu. I have two cards created. Who knew that Mardu was hard to make x.x Here’s the Planeswalker. 

Kether, a name my friend gave to use. That name is just awesome! What’s also awesome is the art done by them @sacredflamingart​ . A while ago we were talking about music. We have a lot in common, including a love for the band Ghost. A favorite song of theirs is Rats. Hence the first ability.  The rats give protection, and a twist on Plague Rats. Instead of ETB, it’s upon death. We’re going with a Pied-piper theme. Not heavy on the Rats, but more flavor.  The second ability is Grave-themed. Rats and eating all things, and being in crypts are so flavorful (Also Crypt Rats is a card!). I didn’t want it to tie to creatures/ Rats, but rather to hand is a touch I wanted. It’s rare that Mardu decks have a full grip, but it happens. The life gain is related to the rats eating. This is great against aggro and mid range decks. The last ability. You always pay the Pied Piper, cause if you don’t. Well, you’ll get your due. In 1v1 you get maybe 3 cards. In Multi-player, well maybe more. The Land grab is in terms of “Well I don’t want anything. Your house though, is nice. The white part of the is the Emblem “You have Hex proof”. You cannot pay the tithe, you cannot touch me. Costing 10 to do so, and up to seven turns. It feels balanced. 

The second card is a sorcery. Not Legendary this time, as a modular spell just doesn’t fit that bill, to me. The art shown for the Walker had an awesome tag line. I needed to put that on a card. The art is also done by @sacredflamingart​  Five mana, and all revolve around the grave..or putting things there.  Mardu needs a wrath. From there a low costed mass revival is great in any format. Lastly, an ability similar to the walker. Being able to mass remove, and gain life is always nice. I hope you like these two cards. To me, my friend, you represent all the colors. Your kindness, creativity, badassness. Those shine always. You’re one of my close friends here, and I wish to give you hugs and cheer you up on bad days.  Remember, you’re a good person. Thank you for talking with me. It was an honor to make them. I’ll be making some more walkers of my two other friends @wolvenmonarch​ and @highqueenselundar​ . If they would allow it.

it should bear mentioning that on all of my blogs, i uniformly tag any of my art “sacredflamingart” if you’re interested to see it. i post a lot of my random wip nonsense on my main @debaiser, and i try to post all my su on @reo-trashcan. uptake stuff is divided between junkgoblin and crown-eater, which aren’t getting atted because i’m content-paranoid right now and don’t want to get flagged and there’s a lot of way less than safe stuff over there; uptake-related sin does get posted there. most of my sin gets posted to dimercaprol.

so i just this morning learned what “gradient map” was... i picked my most recent b/w painting to try it, vs the multiply-layer coloring i did on it. gradient map is potent enough as just an image adjustment setting. apparently some version(s) of photoshop offer it as a layer style that works in real time
