He is not controversial, he's not just a compelling antagonist. He is monstrous. Despicable. But he is suddenly glamorised because he wasn't an absolute monster to his wife, another Dead Lady, lol. He is the OG "I'm a piece of shit with everyone around me but a sweet puppy to my one true love uwu a beautiful strong woman can tame a man uwu". It makes me nauseous tbh. Thoughts on Winx Club - Enchantix

I just had this thought as I woke up this morning. Us who grew up in the 2000s and witnessed the rise of Winx Club all look at Enchantix with nostalgia filled glasses and so we put it on a pedestal. But there are reasons for that. We got to see our girls grow up into strong, confident, capable and beautiful women who all got the attention they deserved for a moment. Each of their storylines were simple and each got a shining moment to culminate the growth they experienced throughout the years. If you look closely at the details of their lives, backgrounds, progression through the years at Alfea, you can see that they each grew into themselves in the background of Bloom’s light in a subtle manner. And those storylines culminated into their final transformation into Enchantix and we couldn’t be more proud of them. This is gonna get long so I’ll put this up here so y’all understand the gist of the post without reading my analysis under cut. Too long, don’t wanna read: Bloom’s Enchantix dress hugs her because she worked too hard to be a fairy, her friends have two piece dresses to showcase their growth over the years and Flora needs the one piece to be a nature goddess.

Aisha had always been an independent and self-sufficient fairy always running off on adventures. She came to the group a season later and struggled to find her place in Winx. We also saw that she is afraid of being left alone in the dark which is interesting for what came later for her. Then we see her rendered blind, more reliant on her friends than ever before, and still making a sacrifice for someone else is a testament to her courage and her compassion. A simple but heartfelt tribute to the newest member of the team of she was rewarded beautiful. So happy she got to see her final form later on. Her outfit is a testament to that courage and shows her primary colors (green and pink) well. It also works with blue pink and yellow she had on first which literally showed her as more colorful and nunanced. Aisha still braved other challenges later I the season and she handled them like she always would; with the strength of her friends behind her and she eventually had the courage the accept and love Nabu which is quite touching. Best ship on this block of show.

Stella always seemed to be the beautiful, happy go lucky and aloof most of the time. What wasn’t so obvious was the pain, the sadness and the depth of her character which she showed throughout the show. She is a fiercely protective friend with such a generous heart. Her biggest wish was to see her parents get along again and while we didn’t get to see that, we at least saw her interactions with her dad. Radius literally betrayed her publicly and said Monster Stela wasn’t his daughter. It’s a heartbreaking thing to go through and we got to see Stella fight through it with grace, humility and the love of her friends. That was the most humble I’d ever seen her. And then we get a testament of her heart and her ability to love and forgive when she jumped in front of a dragon to save Radius. She’d do it for anyone she loved, honestly but in that moment she chose to save her dad for whom she still carried some hurt for. And miz gurl physical became right there into what she showed on the inside. Her inner beauty matched her out beauty even further and I think a lot of us loved this. Like Aisha, she became so colorful. But really though, Stella’s big heart is what we love the most about her.

Musa… I have a soft spot for her. Girl started out a tomboy, tough all around. She’d be the kind of girl I’d want to avoid because she scared me. Season 1, we saw a glimpse of the soft girl deep down. Season 2, we finally understood more of her; she grew up with a difficult father who was hurt from the death of his wife. Musa grew up without a mother and was probably missing a feminine presence growing up hence the hard exterior. But we also saw her becoming more of herself over the years especially with the concert she put on at Red Fountain where she realized her dream of singing. Since then, she became more comfortable in herself and in her femininity, something l also attribute to her friends’ presence. Season 3, she grows her hair and is seen in more feminine and colorful looks. This is also seen in her Enchantix where she still holds the red as a special staple to her look but with some added gold, pinks and purples which are amazing additions to the look. And don’t forget the sacrifice for someone she barely knows. An altruistic act she took in the moment which I speaks volumes about who she is. She already wants to play music for everyone, why wouldn’t she sacrifice herself for someone she just met and began forming a friendship with? Musa is just like music; beautiful, heartbreaking and for everyone to enjoy. And she shows it in her appearance too.

Flora has always been so sweet, kind and soft. She’s been the voice of reason of the group, making sure no one who didn’t deserve it, didn’t get hurt. She’s always been an advocate for animals and plants she knows are just trying to live and people wanna harm them. This speaks volume to her kindness which she is well known for. She is also known for her insecurities which we all relate to. But with love on her side, Flora grew into someone stronger, like when Helia inspired her to save that flower in the Pixie Village. Honestly I would have loved to know the story of her first transformation because I just know it happened when someone was in danger and only she was able to do something, something would often happen around her to grow her confidence. I think Flora is proof that you don’t have to be hardened to be strong. There is strength in softness and Flora is the perfect member of the team for that. Hell, this is why she got her Enchantix. Her sister was in danger and Flora loved her enough to nearly drown in poisoned waters. Her kindness is what helped Flora to transform in that moment and can I just say my girl looks like a goddess. The dress, the elongated hair and the butterfly wings? I would even say she has the biggest wings out of the six. Speaks to her big heart 💗

Tecna had the biggest transformation out of them all and I think we recognize that. She started out as highly logical and proud of it, rarely showing emotion to which she admitted. Tecna was always ready to jump to the most logical solution without regard for any emotion that may be impacted. She’s actually the best example of growing subtly under the light of Bloom. She’s the one Winx with the least amount if time under the spotlight. I can of two or three moments where we see her grow in 3 seasons. Those moments may be brief but they show how she changes and these moments all involve Timmy or her friends. The first was when she admitted to Timmy that she’s not the best as expressing feelings as she openly cried about it. I never saw her cry before then which is a bug step for her. Her second moment was when she gave up her life for a planet that isn’t even hers. There’s a reblog on my blog saying her Enchantix is the most traumatic moment in her life where she had lost all control because she thought she could work the situation by herself. But I think she wasn’t thinking logically. All she knew at that point was that going inside the portal was the only other way to close it and there’s a risk of getting sucked into Omega. I think she was filled with adrenaline and the need to save her friend’s planet overtook her so she didn’t even think of what she’d do next once she was in the portal. The face she made was one of determination, and I doubt she had a plan. It was lucky that was when she unlocked Enchantix otherwise 🤷 Gurl went one step further than Musa. Third, and this one touched me the most; she nearly choose emotion over logic in the Water Stars challenge without a shadow of doubt when Arcadia showed her the doors. It’s something she never would have done in the past and this is such a wonderful moment for her. Since coming to Alfea, Tecna has become more in touch with her emotional side and has then learned the value of expressing them to those she cares about thanks to the Winx and Timmy. Tecna grew up in the background and I wish we got to see more of that and saw the progression of that change. Girl has so much potential to be a major role mode and it was squandered. Thankfully we got to see some major development and we got to see the final result; a beautiful young fairy open to the joys and lows of life and her new outfit and hair shows it.

Bloom had a unique look to her Enchantix. While I thought the others grew into themselves, a better version of themselves, Bloom became what she always wished to become; a true fairy. She’s had an upbringing without magic and so she had to work harder than the others to reach the same level. Bloom realized who she was in the first year. In second year she learned to get better touch with her powers and third year was her trial by fire. I know people are mad that she willed herself into final fairy form but they’re oversimplifying her physical and emotional which is not fair to her. Bloom worked extra hard for her fairy achievements which is why she rightfully earned the life she built for herself; her kingdom restored with her friends and boyfriend to witness it. She built a whole for herself and it’s hugging her, holding her tightly so it never leaves her because she’s been without this magic for 15-16 years. This is obvious in her Enchantix form which looks like it’s hugging her as if saying “Bloom, you did it. You made it. You’re a real fairy now. You can be proud 🥲 ” It’s the dress and the wings which sprouted I assume in the middle of her back where I assume her dress hugs Bloom. It pains me people choose to ignore Bloom’s growth when it is a journey that we should be proud of. Bloom was tested in the flames and she emerged victorious, especially considering what she was out through in years one and three. She worked the hardest and built for herself a strong sense of justice and an unbreakable will that I hope inspired many. The girl became a fairy and she never let that go.

This post was originally meant to be about their individual looks and then compare it to Bloom because she had a dress that’s hugging her as opposed to the rest who wear two piece dresses (besides Flora who needs the one piece to complete the nature goddess look). And yet I came in with an essay about each of their developments and making as to why Enchantix is unforgettable to us original Winxers who grew up with these girls. If anyone ever remade the Winx, my wish is that they respect the source material and do the girls justice, in character, personal storylines and look. And of course do Enchantix justice. This is long. TLDR: Bloom’s Enchantix dress hugs her because she worked too hard to be a fairy, her friends have two piece dresses to showcase their growth over the years and Flora needs the one piece to be a nature goddess.
