hmm opinion no one asked for. i think people should stop thinking clock 0ut = stanley parable

now this is not directed at the editing community in ANY way, sad-ist's animations are fucking incredibe for editing, and given that there isnt really much Action to work with in the actual tsp game (also the clock 0ut characters happen to be--loosely--sad-ist's designs for the narrator and stanley), it's a treat to see tsp edits that include bits from clock 0ut

however . and this is a very big however!! clock 0ut is MUCH closer to an original work than it ever was to the stanley parable. yeah it's pretty heavily inspired, but it's Really not the same. i think it takes away from true appreciation for sad-ist's hard work on her concept by conflating it with the stanley parable, and i am also of the opinion that the influx of tsp fans that come from the clock 0ut animations come in with a certain expectation for the game that just. isn't ever really fulfilled lmao

tldr: clock 0ut and tsp are two fundamentally different creative works and should be treated with that respect

When the news dropped I think it took me a few hours to actually process what had happened and even after watching his last video there was a part of me that just… couldn’t believe it? I cried of course none the less. Am still crying if I’m being honest. There was such certainty that this was something he could brush off, and yet. Maybe he was needed elsewhere more. My thoughts go out to his friends and family, and I wish them the best during all of this.

I wasn’t, and still aren’t really part of the MCYT or DSMP fandom, I actually found Techno’s channel from SAD-IST’s work, their animation about Dream and Techno’s duel had been showing up on my recommended and I just thought “Why not - it looks cool.” And from there I was hooked on their stuff, and because I wanted context I started looking into the YouTubers. I found Techno through Dream and immediately subscribed. His content was hilarious and I loved his dark sense of humor. This was during the pandemic and a time where I was figuring out my future - so his videos were a welcome reprieve. ((The Potato War still has me in stitches even after multiple viewings.))

It was thanks to him and the community that he had, that I started making fanart again. For the longest time because I wanted art to be my career I focused solely on making portfolio worthy stuff and along the way kind of forgot the fun of creating things just for me. But his community was so vibrant - so much art dedicated to his character with so many variations I just had to partake. And I started drawing again, things from the DSMP RP, fanart for fan fiction, just little things that made me happy. And I got better at art along the way - not just from the practice but also because I enjoyed doing it again.

Part of me wishes that I had been a little more active online and was able to properly thank him for all that he’s done for me, but I know that even if he didn’t know me he still understood the impact he had on others and how loved and appreciated he was.

I think somewhere deep in my heart I will always secretly be waiting for Techno’s next update. And that’s alright. Who knows - maybe we’ll get word on how his conquest of God’s domain is going, that would be a very Technoblade thing to do. But I digress.

Technoblade, good luck and godspeed wherever you are. Whether that be the long awaited retirement arc, or as you make your way through the Kingdom of Heaven to PVP God. Thank you for everything you’ve done, I promise to live my best life in your honor.

Well-deserved solitude

There are moments in my life when I weirdly find peace in my solitude. I have no one, and that's okay. I lost all my friends, and that's okay too. I should never forget the reasons behind my solitude. If I allow someone into my life, the relationship will inevitably turn toxic, causing suffering for both parties. It's truly better to keep everyone at a distance. I wish I could consistently maintain this perspective and not overlook past toxic friendships. However, the ache of loneliness surfaces, and I yearn for someone to share my life with, someone who appreciates me and whom I reciprocate the feelings for. Yet, I must remember it's not worth it because the good times are fleeting. I wish I could always find peace in my solitude, but I know sadness will return. Nevertheless, I must resist the urge to give in. I have to acknowledge my toxicity and the harm I could inflict on others. I am the monster, and my solitude is a deserved penalty. Remember and never forget this realization.

Ich wünschte, ich könnte immer Frieden in meiner Einsamkeit finden, aber ich weiß, dass die Traurigkeit zurückkehren wird. Dennoch muss ich der Versuchung widerstehen, nachzugeben. Ich muss meine Toxizität anerkennen und die Schäden, die ich anderen zufügen könnte. Ich bin das Monster, und meine Einsamkeit ist eine verdiente Strafe. Erinnere dich daran und vergiss diese Erkenntnis niemals.

I don't think what you are asking for is invalid and in fact very worthy of discussion by not just many creators but by the people consuming the content as well. Many people just assume that other creators are just crying about not getting attention but that's not the point at all and it's sad that instead of thinking and putting themselves in the creator's shoes, people just get offended and critic you guys instead of just doing the bare minimum on their part and see that it's an issue easily resolved.

I myself have been a writer on Tumblr (separate fandom) and understand the frustration of only seen nothing but hearts but no genuine... discussion. No communication, feedback or even just a bit of appreciation. It makes you feel looked over, ignored. Half the time ist isn't about feeling gratification from posting something it's wanting the community part of being in a fandom that is missing.

How can a community really be one if there is no communication or discourse over fandom content. It's giving neighbors who lived next to one another for years and only ever talk to complain that they don't like that the other neighbor is leaving their bins out or that they didn't clean the leaves in their yard. It's not community, it's not even friendly or welcoming. Which is something I think many people are missing the point of, its just very lonely and disheartening.

So I want you and every other creator who writes for not just the HOTD fandom but for every other fandom, you are very valid in feeling like you wish for more genuine interaction on your content.

Otherwise, it will forever feel like we are back to being 8 years old trying to show our parents or guardians something we like only for them to look over it briefly and go "hm".
