growing up in foster care for the first five years of her life, maeve got used to certain things: primarily, how anything and everything that was 'hers' could instantly be lost or taken back the moment the family she was with sent her back. I've mentioned before that maeve wasn't the sort of child who had a great attachment to a toy, a blanket, anything of the sort. but that was very much less by choice and more just because if she loved any item, it would surely end up lost to her.

she accepted that families would only want her until something better came along ( or until they could no longer pretend they could 'fix' her ) and she accepted that loving items would only hurt too.

as an adult, her mentality has shifted, but she's still that lost little girl at her core. she doesn't own much: she travels light, she's very skilled at sewing and fixing things when they break. of course her reasoning has changed - she was fourteen when she went to live with a family friend for university, and you're meant to travel light for that. eighteen when she got her own apartment ( and even then, she just got the necessities, she's used to empty spaces ).

in her main verse her chinchilla has a very large cage with ledges and a metal wheel and lots of hideaways. any pet of hers will have its own things. any child of hers ( biological, adopted, step- it doesn't matter ) will have their space specially done to suit them and help them feel comfortable. but nobody ever did that for her.

when she moved in with bobby, he told her not to take up too much space. when she was on the run from her stalker, she needed to be able to move fast and not leave any sign she'd been there or about where she was going next. during her coma, what little she owned was got rid of minus a few truly treasured things.

so when she moves in with someone? or she finally chooses to make a home permanently hers? it's a big deal. it should be encouraged, supported. she needs guidance because maeve has never known how to make herself permanent.

Have a mini fic about Steve annotating books and Eddie finding it really hot🖤

So obviously, Eddie's a bookworm. Before he had any friends, he spent the better parts of his childhood at Hawkins Library after school and Hawkins Middle's library during any recesses and lunches. He constantly read books, this was before Wayne got him a guitar and before he got into dnd, and being a bookworm tremendously helped him fuel both of those hobbies later on. But before then? The library was like a second home to him. 

And so, recently founding out that Steve reads, like a lot, is something of a revalation. It's not that Eddie thinks the guy is stupid, but he figured the guy spent time doing other productive hobbies at home. But the guy reads, and as previously mentioned, Eddie considers himself a literature connoisseur of sorts. Writing book reports and essays were one of the few things he actually excelled at in high school. 

So anyway, he found out that Steve is a book nerd by finding one of Steve's books open on his bed. Not really the strangest thing that Eddie's come across in Steve's room if he's being honest, and not the biggest indicator of nerdiness, until he focuses his attention and acknowledges the bright colors sprawled across the pages. 

A burst of rainbow colors underlining what Eddie guesses are his favorite parts of the story or important stuff he wanted to remember. And obviously, Eddie has to ask him about it. and Steve explains to him that he has a whole color key and it's made up of romantic lines that make him feel warm, sad stuff that makes him tear up, stuff that is word for word undoubtedly Steve Harrington sprawled on a page. Steve won't tell him which color is which, too embarrassed by it, but he lets Eddie read through them, and then he stares at Steve in unyeilding fondness. 

The look reflected on Steve's is not the same, mostly anxiety and insecurity, which Eddie immediately wants to soothe. It's so so sweet he thinks but Eddie's mouth translates the words into, "That's so fucking hot." Which, shit man, it is but he hadn't meant to say it out loud. 

"Shut up, dude, don't make fun of me right now." 

And listen, books are everything to him, this is no joking matter. They inspire his own stories, whether through a dnd campaign or writing song lyrics. It's honestly probably the most attractive thing a person could do in Eddie's opinion, he didn't know how hot until right about now, but he'll die on this hill. Annotating your books is hot. 

"Listen to me when I say this Steve, while that is the nerdiest thing I've ever heard and I'm, ya know, me. It's also about the most attractive thing that's come out of that pretty mouth of yours, like ever."

And Steve folds his arms across his fucking beautifully sculpted chest and narrows his eyes just slightly, raising a judgemental eyebrow at him. 

"You're being serious."

Oh he's never been more serious about anything in his life. 

"Uh...yeah? Yes. Oh my god."

Yeah, real eloquent Edward. 

Whatever, his heart is pounding profuesely against his rib cage because holy shit Steve is a book nerd and Eddie wants to kiss him fucking yesterday. So he gets on all fours on Steve's bed to lean forward and basically attacks his mouth before he can even think about it. 

And when he pulls back, Steve's pupils are blown wide and his breath has picked up pace, and Steve keeps bouncing between looking at Eddie's eyes and his lips. 

"You just kissed me."

It comes out disbelieving. 

"Yeah and with your permission I'd like to continue, like stat, immediately, now."

"You're insane."

And hands weave through curls and pull. 

Eddie tumbles foward, ending fully sprawled on top of Steve, and, jesus christ, body pressed impossibly close to his. 

And after they're romantic, read: nerdy horniness, little makeout session, he forces Steve to read the annotations himself, going through all the books that are important to Steve. He has to stop himself from moaning to really emphasize how hot he finds it, and to make Steve slightly embarrassed, but refrains. Just lets him continue. 

Eddie has never been so in love in his life.

It's Friday and of course it is Pit Babe the series random thoughts for ep 11!

▪️So we finally learnt what was the big plan of Charlie and how it happened. Basically Charlie thought he was Juliet (from Romeo and Juliet. Same plot, different ending) and pretended to be dead but also he had a shot of a drug that is supposed to temporarily remove or suppress his ability. He is staying with "Uncle Reval", a man, Jeff met when he escaped Tony's house for the first time. This guy is helping Jeff and Charlie and is also the one who got them the "potion". I didn't have to watch the next trailer to know it was Babe's dad because the story is really giving you a lot of hits. Of course, Charlie is really worried about Babe and how he deals with his supposed death but he still has to hide. No one will make me change my mind about the fact it's not a brilliant plan. I appreciate Charlie a lot but he is the worst at making any plans.

▪️Finally Alan and Jeff shippers can be happy because our two boys admitted their feelings, got together (even if Jeff was scared because of his powers) and even had a sexy time. We were very patient. I'm glad they are finally together and hope they won't face anymore problems. I wish them a blissful relationship full of love. I have been rooting for them since the beginning.

▪️Way is still drinking most of the time during the episode and he is really pitiful. However, it seems his redemption arc is coming. Let's see how they deal with that. I have to admit Nut is also a pretty crier, just like Pavel. They really choose the right actor for this role.

▪️It also seems like viewers were right when they say there was a tension between Kenta and Pete. Kenta had feelings for Pete. In some ways, Kenta is just like Way. They both think Tony is right and they both want to be recognized by the sole fatherly figure they have in their life. Unfortunately, Tony isn't a good father and his actions are terrible. To be loved and appreciated can be quite hard. If you've been deprived of it for a long time, you may be ready to do anything to get it. Way and Kenta are doing very questionable actions to just be loved. It is very sad. Kenta believes he has to follow Tony's orders and it drew Pete and him apart. I wanted Kim and Kenta to be together but now that I know Pete and Kenta's past, I feel sad they will never be able to be together as a romantic couple.

▪️We got a few scenes with Babe who is still trying to avenge Charlie's death. We will probably see him more in the next episode.

▪️North and Sonic still provided terrible advice to Alan when he was trying to win Jeff's heart but at least they are bubbly and cute while also providing some comedic relief.

▪️I saw Kim once! 🥹 It is not enough but a small win is still a win.

Let's see what will happen next Friday. Pit Babe is still being really fun to watch.

Au where the game resets and MC is the only one who actually remembers what happened due to a glitch and gets more protective of sayori than he ever has.

Due to the way you worded it I can imagine 2 drastically different outcomes

AU 1 - Basically Yandere MC (CW for basically all the existencial stuff in ddlc and toxic relationships). After realizing what terrible things plague Sayori every day and the horrific thing they could cause MC because super possessive and protective of Sayori, basically vowing to never let her suffer again. He’d constantly hug, cherish and encourage her, while being extremely clingy and constantly worried about her, to the point that the other girls find it kinda creepy. He would especially get aggressive with Monika, telling her “Get away from my Sayori you murderer!” With Monika being extremely confused, scared and worried.

Meanwhile Sayori is kinda freaked out by his sudden change in demeanor, but hey, he’s her best friend, even more so he’s the best friend who she has had the biggest and fattest crush on since forever, so why should she complain about him giving her more attention and hugs and comfort, it doesn’t feel bad. Even when the other girls have an intervention with her she just kinda hand-waves it, maybe thinks that there’s something deeper to the intervention, alternative motives maybe?

It'd probably end in tragedy because I'm a believer in the "The game Doki Doki Literature Club in the lore of DDLC cannot have a happy ending, because they either all die without knowledge of what's beyond their realm or the characters slowly destroy their own world because of the insanity and sadness that plague them thanks to the revalation that they're not real".

But that's probably not what you were asking for considering what my blog is actually about, so here's

AU 2 - Clingy, worried wet puppy BF MC. MC comes back,but instead of being overprotective and controlling of Sayori, he instead just tries to be a better and more understanding person for Sayori, being there for her and constatly saying stuff like "I'm here for you" "You tell me anything you want" "I'm here for you" "I like spending time with you" "I don't know what I'd do without you" etc. He tries to get a better grapple on what mental illnesses entail and how to help someone deal with them. Sayori is surprised by this, maybe she made it too obvious that she was sad? She'd initially try to isolate herself from MC to "not be a burden to him", but thanks to his dedication, honesty and gentleness, he's able to get her to trust him with her problems.

Over time Sayori starts becoming happier and starts to find ways to start healing. MC eventually discovers he has feelings for Sayori and confesses to her, she obviously accepts.

Meanwhile the rest of the club is just kinda there, I don't think they'd play an important role in this AU, apart from being part of Sayori's support system and becoming better friends with MC.

sooo i hear you finished malevolent

indeed i did!! holy shit!!! it was amazing! and now i can finally unblock the “Malevolent spoilers” tag!

various thoughts (i have many but here’s a handful):

listening to the first episode, after John asked Arthur to look in the mirror and said he had the demeanor of someone not to be fucked with, i thought “…i’m sorry but no. this man is a sad wet cat. get him a warm blanket”

speaking of part 1, i was listening to it in the backseat of a car with headphones in so that was a game of turning up the volume to hear dialogue over the road sounds and turning it down to not demolish my eardrums when John shouted

by the time i was wrapping up part 4, i started to wonder if “John Doe” was a name the fandom made up for him, but when he explained to Arthur that he really liked the name and wanted to be called that…my heart absolutely melted. can you tell John’s my favorite? he’s my favorite :)

the one bit where Arthur is asked questions directly tied to everything that had happened since being bound with John? fucking impeccable. i would’ve said “ohh shit” aloud if i weren’t in public at the time

at some point i saw a post about someone taking an empty wrapping paper tube and mimicking John’s “Arthur!”

i tried it

it very much worked

i was promptly ecstatic due to this revalation. the tube wasn’t empty but it still worked great lol

speaking of John’s “Arthur!,” the way his tone shifted from part 1 vs part 28 still makes me emotional. holy shit

Kayne! what a guy. motherfucker. i had glimpsed some fanart of him eating popcorn or something before reaching part 28 so when i heard crunching in the background of That Part i was just like “ah. that’s why. Goddammit.” he’s a lot of fun and i like him a lot

ough hearing Yellow alongside Larson. Fear. excitement for what that means for the story, but also Fear.

during my binge i was working on a lego set i got for Christmas, of the house from Home Alone, and i legitimately nearly cried while hunched over that lego set when Arthur played Faroe’s Song right before John came back

and speaking of John coming back! Kayne said he had some sort of ulterior motive! what the heck! i haven’t seen much in the way of theories yet but John’s slip-up about being gone for a long time, i definitely don’t think he’s telling the truth. that said, i don’t think he wants to hurt Arthur in any way. especially considering he was trying his damndest to save him during that entire conversation

the piano strings guy. holy shit. what was he called? the butcher? absolutely terrifying, and now he’s coming after John and Arthur. fun!

the dynamic between Arthur and John is incredible. not romantic not platonic but a secret third thing (*vague gesture in their direction that does not explain what the third thing is*). they’re just Them. not to mention i nearly cried over the fact that before John named himself, when he and Arthur still didn’t like each other, Arthur still took to calling him “friend.” i’m shaking them like a pair of glowsticks.

absolutely cannot wait for part 29. i’m so excited to see where this story goes.

(Meanwhile on a star of death somewhere in space. The following part is really simplified because I don’t care about it (FOR THE SAKE OF THIS STORY) and neither should you. JK I don’t care if you care about Alderan or not)

Tarkin: Bla bla bla tell us where the base is

Leia: No

Tarkin: Then I’ll blow up your family

Leia: You wouldn’t

(Revales they’re in front of her home world Alderan)

Tarkin: Hm think again

Leia: Fine, Dantoonie

(Tarkin blows up the hole planet)

Tarkin: You were lying. Go lock her up and plan execution.

(Back in the falcon Obi-wan sits down suddenly looking very sad)

Luc: What happened did someone’s Loth Cat Die?

Han: (Laughs) You know you might be annoying as Hell but you got  good humor kid.

Luc: I know I’m just cool like that!

Obi-wan: I just felt a disturbance in the force like millions of helpless people were crying out in pain, and then death.

Luc: Man I’m not sure I want this force thing.

Han: If you ask me It’s just nonsense.

Luc: Well I wasn’t asking you!

(3PO, R2, and Chewie are playing Dagerik (Basically space chess) R2 takes one of Cewies pieces and Chewie angrily growls)

C3PO: He made a fair move, there's no use screaming about it.

Han: Let him have it. It’s unwise to upset a wookie

C3PO: But sir nobody worries about upsetting a droid. (Yes he actually says this)

Luc: Wow 3PO, need to talk about something?

Obi-wan: When will we reach Alderan?

Han: Oh about two-hundred hours.

Obi-wan: Ah good, (Turns to Luc) that should give us sometime to begin your training!

Luc: Training? That sounds like work.

Obi-wan: It takes hard work to become a jedi.

Luc: But what’s in it for me?

Obi-wan: Well you shouldn’t become a jedi for personal gain but there are always perks, such as reading people's minds, and moving things without touching them.

Luc: Hmm… fine I’ll play your game but if it’s boring I quit.

Han: Reading minds? You seriously believe this is possible?!

Luc: I don’t know but if it’s a possibility might as well try right?

Han: Okay whatever kid.

Obi-wan: Do you have a remote

Han: Actually yes

Luc: Why would you need a remote

Han: I don’t know why I have it. (Points to helmet) I mean like why do I need this I don’t own a one man fighter.

Luc: So your a hoarder?

Han: No it’s just writing convenience

Luc: Sounds about right, (Turns to obi-wan) so what do i need to do with this remote?

Obi-wan: (Hand luc their saber) Block the blasts!

(Suddenly the remote starts blasting a Luc hitting them in the face)

Luc: (Ignites saber) Hey a warning would be nice!

Han: (Laughs) This is gonna be fun!

Luc: (glares at him and then gets shot again in the back) Okay I’ve had it with you! (Swings their lightsaber to cut the remote in half but Obi-wan uses the force to pull it away)

Obi-wan: No luc! Don’t give into your frustration!

Luc: Don’t tell me what to do!

Obi-wan: Put on the helmet. (Hands them the helmet Han had mentioned earlier.)

Luc: I said don’t tell me what to do (Does it anyway) Now what?

Obi-wan: Pull down the blast shield

Luc: (does that) Great advice now I can’t see

Obi-wan: Feel the air around you reach out with your mind and see the remote. Feel it.

(The room disappears and now all Luc can see is the remote the block every shot then the reach out their hand controlling the little robot with the force and making it shoot Han in the face)

Han: HEY!  What the hell!

Luc: That’s for laughing at me! (shuts down the lightsaber and throwing the helmet to the floor.)

(Chewie laughs)

Han: (To chewie) Yeah think that's funny? Maybe I should shoot you in the face.

Obi-wan: (To Luc) Jedi don't value revenge. You must learn to forgive and hold no grudges)

Han: I’m done with this Jedi nonsense. (Stands up and turns to leave) Trust me kid, hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match when you have a blaster by your side. (Pats his holstered gun and walks toward the cockpit) Hey chewie get up here looks like we're coming up on Alderan.

(Everyone piles into the cockpit)

Han: I said Chewie not everyone!
