Talking a little bit about 'boycotting Eurovision' under Keep Reading, feel free to scroll down if is not what you want to see.

The most used argument on the matter of banning Israel from Eurovision is the fact that Russia got banned from Eurovision, which is the worst argument anyone could bring.

Kindly reminder that Russia didn't get banned because of the war with Ukraine. Russia got banned because many countries has threatened to withdraw from the competition. Sadly, that's a big difference.

Yes, the countries has threatened to withdraw because they support Ukraine and see Russia as the party in the wrong. That was their reason. EBU's reason for banning Russian was because those countries threatened to withdraw, not because the war was bad and Russia must be stopped.

This situation isn't the same. Why? Because many countries support Israel in their genocide. Because this time around Palestine is the party in the wrong. Because we're taught to believe that Israel isn't in the wrong here.**

Boycotting Eurovision won't work. There are people out there who don't know the truth and want to watch Eurovision. There are people out there who don't care and will watch Eurovision regardless of the situation. There are people out there who, despite having the facts, still don't see Israel as the bad guy in this situation and will watch Eurovision. Sadly, boycotting won't work unless everyone does it.

The only way Israel will get banned, in my opinion, is by going through the same thing as Russia. If other countries threatened to withdraw- and not any countries, but the ones investing the most in Eurovision, then yes. That will get Israel banned.

Otherwise? The only thing we do is hurt artists that don't deserve it. Artists who use Eurovision as a way to get more exposure and experience. Artists who deserve to be heard.

Don't vote for Israel's entry. Don't stream their song either. Heck, turn off the TV when is their turn to perform.

**This whole situation (the war, not Eurovision) isn't only black and white. Civilians die daily because of this, all of them from both sides. Innocent people who has no fault. Let's not forget that

I suppose this post marks my peaceful “return” to social media, though I was never too far away to check on friends and help with the zine. I’ll be blunt and admit ‘22 has been one of the worst and best years of my life, with many of the ups and downs a result of my ADHD and that lack of diagnosis. From finally getting on meds, to losing a group I thought were my friends through an embarrassing and truly accidental mistake as a result of those symptoms, to years of suffering a dangerously low income due to my ADHD making me unreliable and resulting with the real and terrifying possibility of homelessness, to proving that I AM reliable and turning that financial spiral around, to successfully helping draw a very large and important project to a close, to being able to breathe and function, to finding my self worth again, and through that my confidence. It was very dark for me the first half of this year, I’m glad I’m stubborn. But I’ll admit it’s exhausting lol

I won’t go into the details, but I’ve found a better balance now that I have some treatment (and some wonderful close friends that stuck with me and drug me up by the scruff of my neck). I’m ready to start more art now that I have the time and energy, and I’m excited to share it with you. I won’t be starting a new drawing challenge this October, instead I’m going to complete what I started last year with Miss Marigold and her boys. I have more projects to share, more art, more pottery, more writing. Things are finally trending positive for me in a very stable and concrete manner after a few hard years, and I’m gleefully ready to cause (fun) problems on purpose. I only ask you be patient with me, I’m still navigating trauma from the past few years and I apologize in advance if I forget or misspell your name-it’s not because I don’t care, I have a sieve for a memory. My worst symptom by far for my ADHD are the issues with my memory, and let me tell you I wish every day my worst symptom was something else. It’s an awful feeling to think you’re doing something right, but have somehow forgotten and mixed something up. I wouldn’t wish it on others, it can truly be that debilitating.

But anyhow. If you read all of this, I'm sorry lmao. I don't like to speak publicly about my private life but I felt it prudent to share some loose explanations.

I think it's good for everyone to really invest in a character that is to some degree a self-insert because there's no better way to safely analyze your own impulses, habits, and traits. Some of them are easy mode things you might know already. (e.g. Why does X avoid eye contact?) Some of them are questions which require some thinking, and if it's somewhat unpleasant work you can more easily forgive a character you've created than yourself and then over time accept and work with something that was otherwise invisible to you. (e.g. Why does X vehemently refuse to accept help without terms or payment?) Incomprehensibly mortifying, in a way, but man. Maybe I am governed by a billion little unspoken rules, and I should like. Write them down and see if any of them need to be revised. Maybe Valentine should let someone take care of her for a bit without her frantically promising undying service in return.

I’ve just had a long conversation with my friend about some quality Skulduggery angst and I know how much you like that

It started with thinking about a crossover with The Last Of Us. Valkyrie gets infected, and unluckily enough, getting bitten in the only places she doesn’t have armour means you turn in 5-15 minutes. Skulduggery gets the zombie somewhere no one can find and kill her, and goes on a bloody rampage - threatening anyone who might be able to cure her and killing them when they insist it’s not possible

Of course, this means he’d turn into a sort of dark mirror of what Joel and Ellie could become (I say, with only baseline knowledge of TLOU; my friend is a fan of it). He would find them because they’re the reason there’s no vaccine

The vaccine would have meant Ellie died, and a lot of people were killed to save her. Skulduggery would do the exact same thing for Valkyrie. He would understand that, I think. It would not stop him from trying to figure out how to make the vaccine himself

And then there’s part 2, where it morphed into any kind of zombie apocalypse with the same setup, but as part of a dimension-hopping plotline where the duo we know meet this version of themselves. It could become a rescue mission, where Skulduggery needs to get Valkyrie back from this broken version of himself who desperately wants his friend back

Maybe they talk - the zombie apocalypse Skulduggery and our Valkyrie - about their respective stories. Maybe he just listens about how much better things could have been, in a better world. She sees the zombie, of course. She knows that’s the only thing separating this Skulduggery from the one she knows

And when our Skulduggery arrives, he might find the other standing, as still as a statue, in silence. He goes over, sees a lone zombie shambling around in a container area which they overlook. The other only says “Valkyrie.” and that’s all the explanation required. They stand together a while in silence, watching what’s left of her

There are no hard feelings when our duo leaves. Only a horrible feeling of tragedy and sorrow that lingers around them all

So yeah! Skulduggery angst :)

Skug would absolutely fall apart in this situation I think. Both skugs. I think it would be a lot of quiet (and not-so-quiet) mourning- I don’t think there’d be much talking between the Skeles as you said. Like, mostly just standing or sitting together in collective, silent, grief

But I also think there would be points were alt skug just- snaps? And the other lets it happen. He knows, he’s been there. He’s not going to interfere- just make sure no-one (especially our Val) is actually hurt. He’s there to offer.. comfort, if you could call it that, when it’s all over.

Valkyrie is… confused, for the most part. She sees this version of herself that is barely her- it’s lost it’s grip on most of its humanity by the time they reach it- but she also sees that this other skug, her skug too, can still see it as Valkyrie. She starts to see it as well, after a little bit. Maybe she thinks about how that could have been her if the events of sow had gone just a bit differently. Maybe she recognises some part of herself in its eyes.

Either way, I think she’d be conflicted as fuck about it. Wouldn’t want to harm it- for both skugs’ sakes- but wouldn’t be entirely comfortable around it, either.
