Hey! You mentioned a while back that if the other dimension Dipper/Mabel/Ford might call the penthouse for advice in dealing with their Bill, and Familiar!Dipper might pick up the "call". I've been rereading the Bill v Bill series and can't get the scene out of my head. Any chance you'd be interested in writing it?

I'm certainly interested in writing it! I think there's a lot of opportunity for Shenanigans, and that's totally my jam.

The problem is: Actually Getting Around to writing it. But perhaps one day!

It is so hard to write about this.

I was so young when I first heard a song by Gazette. I remember how those 4:40 minutes changed my life. It grabbed me immediately. I felt it in my bones. I had never heard anything like that before, but I knew I never wanted to stop listening to it. I was so young, it was 2007.

It was 2016 when I was able to see them for the first time. I remember how excited I was. It was my dream for 9 long years. I never thought I'd be able to fulfill that dream. I still remember someone telling me that it would be a disappointment and not worth it to see them from so far away. He was so wrong. Hearing their music live was the best experience ever. Their songs and their friendly attitude were everything. Thanks to them, I've made friends, I've traveled and experienced a world I thought I never can.

All the members are unique. Reita was "the funny guy". A little goofball. But he was much more than that. He loved Japanese literature and always cared about his health and the health of others. He was a best friend to his bandmates.

I still remember 2019 when I was lucky enough to meet them. I was so nervous. But he held my hand firmly yet gently. I can't remember what we talked about, maybe a little hi and tonight was awesome - the stress immediately made me forget. But I do remember his warm charisma. He wasn't just a clown, he was a warm and nice person. A really talented and hardworking one.I thought a lot about what it would be like when a member died. But I always told myself that it wouldn't happen for so long, they are still young. But it has happened. It is unreal. I can not believe it.

These guys have been a part of my life since I was just a kid. They gave me hope, a warm hug when I was lost, and enough strength to not throw my life away when I was in way too deep. The 5 of them are like an invisible family to me. They are always by my side when I need them. I can't belive one of them has left this world.

All I want to say..

Thank you Reita for spending your life making others smile. You have brought so much joy to everyone. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You may not have known all of us, but we know you. And we love you, forever.

2nd i do not feel qualified to answer this question at all oml (im so sorry). i straight up rawdog everything out here i flail and flounder. but tbh i think reading a ton just helps with your writing/helps you develop a voice. you can see what other authors have done/how they experiment/ how they approach storytelling and find out what works/doesn't work for you. really reading is the most instrumental i think

additionally, some people on this lovely site make writing tip posts and things that you might find useful when writing your own story!!

also also music !! listening to music helps me writing better/get into a character's emotions better/etc.

Some ramblings and thoughts on Octavinelle ch1.

I think Jade finds the MC very attractive in a non-conventional way. He finds Yuuta unique and interesting, even though Yuuta would most likely be considered an ordinary, even uninteresting, person in his own world.

Size had never really mattered to Jade. Even when he met Azul, he thinks Azul 'looks different', but different not in the sense that 'he looks funny' but more like 'he's different from me, different from everyone else, I've never really seen someone like him'.

Part of the reason why is that Jade essentially came from the depths of the ocean. In the ocean, at a depth of 300 meters, life starts to become more scant. Fishes in deeper parts of the ocean are mostly inactive and passive except when they had to hunt. Jade definitely came from a place deeper than a mere 300 meters and as a carnivore who's adapted to life in a place where food is scarce (which he also mentioned in canon), they eat at a very small frequency of one to three times a week. The rest of the time is spent curling up in coves or generally just wandering around aimlessly until his hunger instincts strike again. This means that for most of Jade's life in the depths, he sees and interacts with literally no one except for Floyd and his parents. It doesn't help that Jade's favourite attacks tend to be an ambush attack, to strike only at the most crucial time, resulting in, more often than not, instant death of his prey. This leaves very little opportunity for him to even interact with his prey, though there are times when Jade might toy around with them before delivering the final kill. It's not enough for him to learn about them. Leading an isolated life in the ocean allowed him very little exposure to not only surfacers, but also among his own peers.

It's pretty obvious that when Jade came to the surface, he was still just plainly non-human in more ways than one. He's literally just a wild animal wearing human skin, he's unfamiliar with the most basic living necessities on the surface and unable to blend into human society.

One other reason that makes him interested in Yuuta is that Jade has the opposite problem of Azul. He doesn't get gain weight or get bigger even though he eats plenty and rarely exercises. He's been stuck in a slim and slender form for most of his life, and since the Coral Sea's general population seems to perceive being fat as a negative trait, that makes him curious about Yuuta who is happy with his body as he is. It's the same curiosity as a cat who saw something strange showing up in a place they're familiar with. Though Jade might actually reach out and touch him whenever.

@ticklinglady : Are you sure you want Tachihara to stay in the mafia? Like, yeah, I'm asking this not because I personally care about the fact that these guys are organised criminals or anything like that ahdjgjgk. I'm asking this because of the fact that Mori made Tachihara's brother go through literal torture during the war to the point of the poor guy becoming so broken that he preferred suicide over the chance to eventually return to his beloved family. That guy was the only person out of Tachihara's shitty background to genuinely care and love him, so I personally don't think it's going to be fair for Tachihara to end up working for the man, who murdered him

(Hi there!) Sorry this took me a while to answer but, once again, life.

As for wanting Tachi to stay in the mafia...I don't thiiiiink I specified actively wanting him to stay in that organisation, but I might have really just forgotten my tag rambles or not.

But to answer your question, I don't really mind either.

I see it this way, for starters.

BSD seems to have an ongoing theme of....stagnation. There is character development and progression, of course there is, but at the same time, it sometimes seems like the characters aren't moving forward. I think Kyouka and Lucy (and Dazai and Odasaku and Yosano, to an extent) are the only ones who have "moved on," so to speak. That is to say, pulled themselves out of their emotional turmoil, resolved it, and physically acted upon their restitution. But for a lot of the characters, they still seem emotionally and/or physically "stuck" in the same place they were in the past (Atsushi still believing his only worth is in to save people, most of the mafia people (though you could claim Chuuya had more of a corruption arc than restoration arc), Dazai still suicidal and a bit untethered, Kunikida and his ideals, so forth). But again, they do develop (Atsushi finding his family, the mafia characters being revealed as more human, Dazai leaving the PM was pretty significant, Kunikida HAS softened, I believe).

Tachihara had a somewhat significant arc in learning to see past his, well, past and accepting his place in the mafia that led him to believe in the ADA. He took a step forward, and learning how involved Mori was in his brother's suffering could either reel him way back in to his indecision (because he HAD made a family with the Black Lizards) or push him into more character development as he contemplates his own morality against his "orders are absolute" mentality.

It could be that he, in the end, decides that the human aspect is worth giving up his conflicted feelings over Mori given how long ago it happened (he sort of did that with Yosano). Or it could be that he simply just leaves the mafia because he can't bear the thought of it. Like, yeah, I'd feel terrible if Tachi decides to stay right where he was introduced into, but it sure would make my mind rotate him like a rotisserie chicken so much more. And if he decided to leave, taking revenge or not, I am very very curious to see what road Asagiri will take for our boy
