Photo & Review: Glass Animals put on an incredible night in St. Louis for the first time since 2014

Back in St. Louis for the first time since 2014, British indie pop band Glass Animals took the stage at the Factory.  With support from Sad Night Dynamite, by the time the opening notes of “Dreamland / Life Itself” interlude rang out through the crowd, Glass Animals took the stage to the deafening noise of the cheering of the crowd. With a 16-song setlist packed with fan favourites from albums Dreamland, How to Be a Human Being, and ZABA, Glass Animals had everyone dancing from start to finish. From their Dreamland-themed pool party-esque set design to the infamous appearance of the pineapple, it was clear to long-time fans and newcomers alike why everyone speaks so highly of the magic of their live sets. 

From “Tangerine” to “The Other Side of Paradise” to “Pork Soda,” the night felt well worth the wait for Glass Animals' first show back in St. Louis in eight years. Led by singer, songwriter and producer Dave Bayley, it’s no surprise that the infectious tracks that comprise the discography of Glass Animals have only garnered them more and more support over the years since their formation in 2010, with their third album Dreamland charting at number 2 in the UK and number 7 on the US Billboard 200. By the time the last song of the evening “Heat Waves” began, everyone had completely forgotten about the cold and rainy weather that awaited them outside, fully swept up in the figurative heat waves of an unforgettable evening.
