 You're allowed to feel how you feel, and I am too, but if that feeling isn't a good feeling then I obviously ain't trying to get it stuck there.  Just like all of you, I feel a whole range of emotions all the time. Not all at once, mind you, but I still do. Human too, remember?

I feel sadness and worry for loved ones more often than not. I also feel irritation, and mild frustrations at work sometimes. I feel happiness on the regular. But mostly. . . most of the time I just feel . . .peace. At peace really, like a place I’ve arrived, like a destination. Lol no lol

I pride myself in having much more control over my emotions than at any other point in the history of my life. It really just means I have better ways of handling them or coping with them when I feel them. But not always. Not even close to always. Sometimes I get trapped in them. Still considered fleeting to me if they don’t last, but feeling unwanted feelings is part of the human experience I believe.

I've been dealing with the ins and outs of weight gain and eating right again lately. It’s a war that I feel I lose more of my battles with than I win. I'll do good for a while then, bamm, fall right off. A lot like my active drug use used to be. Feeling how I feel about losing battles can play hard on my emotional state if I ain't careful.

Things like that are why I write, why I express gratitude over the positive parts of my life, for which there are more than I deserve. I tend to get carried away easily, so it needs to be one or the other. Either carried away expressing love and gratitude or I can let myself fall into old patterns and get carried away with feelings of doubt, sadness, and feeling sorry for myself.

I know I'll have battles for the rest of my life. I imagine the weight control thing is going to be with me for quite some time with the fact that I'm an ex drug addict and, my age, I am getting older making it harder to not gain weight, but it's the . . .how I feel about the battle that's most important.

Literally just clicked as I was typing. I love how that happens.

How I feel, and get through the battles, determines whether or not I win the war, and it's definitely more important than whether or not I win them.

It's how I feel that decides what the rest of my quality of life is going to look like.

Finding new leases from time to time in here is always a win.

I imagine it’s how fighters feel when they still shake hands after they’ve just fought, whether they won or not.

Life is short. And yes, I've come a long way, but I still have such a ways left to travel. Being a learner is probably more important than being a teacher sometimes, and all I had to change about myself to get here . . .was just about everything.

Bert Mcoy said something like, “Don’t be so loyal to your mind; the mind is not always loyal to you.” Felt that didn’t ya? I know I did. I guess that’s all I needed this week. Writing, just until it hits. I didn't know where this one was going to land, but I'm glad it did, where it did.  Almost like it was supposed to huh? Lol no lol

Now if I’m not careful.

Remember to try and always be kind. Be kind, but don’t be stupid. Life is such a short trip and most of us won’t realize just how short until its just about over. Irony, like youth, is wasted on the young. Lol no lol

P.S. The MCU is back in theaters. Back on track to be living again. Black widow was awesome. Just sayin’. Maybe I shoulda started with that. lol
