This is awful and it sucks I’m going to lose the only community I have, but I can stand by this behavior anymore. I’ve been supportive of Poppy, Zena, and Saige because I thought they were being harassed and abused, and I do think some of what people are saying about them is overblown, but it’s clear they have mishandled the power of their community and platform.

I just feel like they’re getting worse and I wish they’d take a step back and reflect on their actions. Also the shit about asexuality is awful. I supported Poppy when the narrative was “my ex claimed she could not have assaulted me because she’s asexual” but now she’s trying to deny her ex’s sexuality and is posting their private flirtatious messages.

There seems to be more and more bad behavior documented here and some straight-up abusive stuff regarding Zena’s treatment of Poppy’s kid. I can see why they were so adamant that no one in their community look them up on tumblr.

I appreciate you sending me this. I hope you're feeling okay amidst all of this.

Practicing some more Chibis, so this time around I pulled some of my favorite OC designs to make fan art of. These are the Wonderful Glam Rock Sophie from @zerozeroren , and I made Glam Rock versions of Emerald Entropy from @mikaila-orchard , and Saige from @lily-orchard to match. I picked these 100% based on design. I was going to add two more from Lily, but I don't know if Asana and Vanessa would go Glam Rock. (forgive me if I've misspelled any names, I can correct them)

Since we’re airing our grievances today, I’ll add mine to the pile. It was embarrassing when you argued what happened to Saige wasn’t sexual assault or abuse. We spent weeks dunking on Poppy stans when they argued what happened to Dom wasn’t technically sexual harassment. You made us all look like hypocrites. I don’t care if it’s technically in the definition or not, flashing your breasts/penis isn’t okay.

I handled that whole thing poorly. I was intending to focus on the escalation of language and changing terminology to point out Saige was pulling from the same playbook as Poppy: people weren't reacting strongly enough to her expose for her liking, so she escalated. Just as Poppy insisted at first that what Noeh did wasn't rape but now just openly calls her a rapist, Saige was first calling it sexual harassment and abuse, even saying that she HADN'T called it sexual assault, and then changing her language to elicit a stronger reaction.

I let Saige bait me into arguing over definitions, I got lost in the weeds, and that was clearly a mistake on my end. I should have just kept focusing on how Saige has been willing to misrepresent and outright lie about everything else in order to curry favor with Poppy and thus for that reason her accusations of sexual assault should be treated exactly the same way we should treat all her her other allegations: point out that she is a demonstrable liar.

Why are people like Poppy, Saige, Naomi suddenly saying the online left is dead and they no longer will engage?

First of all, they don't mean this. None of their online behavior will change, they will still dunk on terfs, react to Ben Shapiro videos, and be hyper involved in microinfluncer drama over some dumb shit.

Second, Poppy has this reaction because people pushed back against her slandering NF with some of the most heinous claims you can possibly say. So you know what? If that circle or community is centered around false rape allegations, maybe it does need to die.

They're leftist only in name. Poppy has a history of giving different treatment to BIPOC creators vs. white creators. She advocated for colonialism upon the Middle East because they aren't "queer friendly" enough. PZ and Co. constantly bring up wokescolds and "oversensitive queers" when their bad takes flop or when Poppy is caught sexually harassing someone on Twitter.
