49 years ago ...

... my Mum and I left Saigon/Vietnam. We had to wait for my Dad, who was evacuated with the rest of the German Embassy personnel 13 days later. We had to leave a country whose people we always experienced and were impressed by as friendly and hospitable, despite the heavy burden of war they had to endure. We had to leave a country whose nature and landscape fascinated us. Even after almost 50 years, the people and the country are still vivid in our memories.
