i always feel bad when i see how the point of a lot of saiki's personality traits flew right over the heads of a lot of fans due to him being an unreliable narrator and a tsundere lol.. so a lot of things he says are immediately proved to be untrue and often just him putting up a front, but some people dont pick up on it..

like i see a lot of "haha saiki would never want to watch a romance movie" guys there is an entire chapter (170) dedicated to him being like "i much prefer mysteries to romance stories.." and then immediately becoming absolutely enamored with a romance story.. he was lying, guys, LMAO

less specific ones include:

"i hate children, they annoy me" *goes out of his way to help kids, comfort them, be kind to them, etc.*

"i only use my powers for self gain/my own convenience." "anyway my mama told me to never use my powers selfishly so i always use them to help people and i try my best not to use them for personal gain<3"

"those guys are so annoying, i would never hang out with them willingly." "yeah it took them about two sentences to convince me to go with them. their thoughts seemed like they really wanted me to go, so i did. i didnt want them to be upset. not that i care about them or anything."

(sorry i post about this kind of thing a lot, i just giggle a lot at how the entire manga is so easily misinterpreted and thousands of people have watched the show but didnt pick up on the main characters most defining character traits and frequent bits.. i think there needs to be a masterlist or something disproving all the extremely common misconceptions about saiki k lol)

thinking back about the time i went to this anime convention. i kept searching all over the place to take a photo with a saiki cosplayer. funnily enough, after i left the con venue and headed to the mall to grab some lunch, my sister instantly went shrieking and dragging me to this guy. yes, finally, i found him. before taking a pic together, she told him how i was in a distraught mood because there was no signs of him. funnily enough, the cosplayer responded to that and said: i used my telepathy to make sure we don’t cross paths today. too bad, god loves you. that line had me giddy all day.

Kubosai fic idea where kusuke threatens kusuo with something enough to let kusuo himself be trapped and captured in kusuke's lab but his friends find out and they try to break in. Surprisingly, kusuke has these hired gangsters to fight aren off but aren gets thru them and they all get kusuke, so when aren and kusuo meet face to face, kusuo cant help but feel really happy that his friends came to rescue him even though he could have done it himself, so he does that cliche thing where he smacks arens chest lightly, not realizing hes shedding tears, and says "what took you so long?" And then he jumps on aren and they hug and he suddenly kisses aren with everyone shocked to find out they were together, the end. :3

I love being in a relatively small fandom because it's so nice to actually see the same fic writers pop up again and again, and to be able to go "!!!! It's that person!". While I do see the appeal of larger fandoms, it feels a lot less personal when there's new fics being written every day.

It's such a nice experience to really enjoy a fic, or a bunch of fics, and then see that person mentioned on Tumblr. It's like, even though there are fewer people, creators get a lot more credit for their work, because fans actually see each other as people and appreciate the small amount of content that gets circled around.

It feels more like a community, and less like a giant pool of Stuff.
