Welcome to the third annual Sailor Moon Rare Pair Week! The event will take place from March 24th - March 30th, 2024, but I'm announcing the themes early to give everyone plenty of time to create their fanworks.
What counts as a rare pair for this event, you ask? Any pairing that isn't Usagi/Mamoru (or any of their incarnations), pretty much! (Don’t get too hung up on the word “rare”. Just roll with it, okay?) They usually have their own week, so this event is a chance for fans to show their love for pairings other than the Miracle Romance, canon or not. You can even include poly, platonic, and cross-over ships, if you'd like! Almost anything goes, as long as you follow some simple guidelines.
Fanworks should somehow incorporate the one of the day's themes. (You can pick just one; you don't have to use both.) How you choose the interpret the theme is up to you!
A non-UsaMamo pair must be the MAIN focus of the work (although Usagi/Mamoru can appear as a side pairing or as part of a polycule).
All ratings allowed.
No smut involving underage characters, which I'm defining as under 18 years old. Otherwise, as long as the characters are portrayed as adults in the fanwork, go wild! Just please make sure to properly tag.
Pairings of all sexual/romantic orientations welcome.
Fanfics should be a minimum of 500 words. Poetry may be shorter, though. (If you would prefer to write drabbles instead, you can write five separate 100-word drabbles about the day's themes, but a day's entry should still be at least 500 words long. You have over four months until the week begins and plenty of time afterward if you don't finish in time. That's plenty of time to write 500 words. I don't think that's too much to ask.) If you're writing fanfic, I REALLY would prefer you post your fics on AO3 or Fanfiction.net and provide a link to your story, but if you must post on Tumblr itself, please make use of the "Read More" option.
Fanart should be a completed drawing. (Any fanart portraying nudity or anything of an R/NC-17 nature should be cropped if immediately visible on your Tumblr post and/or posted with the appropriate community label. You can post the full image under a "Read More" or provide a link to the image on another site.)
Graphics, image boards, playlists, cosplay photos, crafts, meta/essays, etc. are also welcome!
Comments, kudos, and reblogs are encouraged, but don't be a jerk! If you're not a fan of a pairing, please just ignore and move on.
On Tumblr, if you tag #smrarepairweek2024, I will reblog your post. I'll tag explict art and fics reblogs as #nsfw, so feel free to block that tag if you'd rather not see those posts.
Please do not post your works anywhere until the day dedicated to your chosen theme. An AO3 collection has now been set up for this year's event. (Adding your work to the collection will not be required.) If you'd like to look back at the last event's works, the 2023 collection can be found here.

SM LGBTQ+ Week 2023!
The second annual Sailor Moon LGBTQ+ Week takes place the week of June 18-24, 2023 (during Pride Month).
You may post your works on Tumblr, AO3, Deviantart, or anywhere you choose so as long as you link them in your Tumblr posts if they are off-site. All ratings are allowed, so long as NSFW work is properly tagged. You can add your AO3 works on our designated category for the event here: smlgbtqweek2023. We also have a Twitter for the event you can tag and we will retweet your works there too!
Submissions should have an LGBTQ+ character, ship or topic at their core along with the daily theme. It doesn't have to focus on or even include a ship, given this week also celebrates asexuality and trans identities! M/F pairings are allowed as long as one of the characters is LGBTQ+ and the work references their queerness. Bi/pan people in m/f relationships are still queer and valid. This also applies to trans people in straight relationships. Basically, as long as you're writing/ drawing/creating something featuring LGBTQ+ character(s), you're golden.

UsaMamo Week 2023 will be the week of July 23 - July 29! We’re posting these prompts early to help you prepare, and also realize by the time of the challenge that the Cosmos parts I and II will be streaming. We reserve the right to modify any prompts that may be “too soon” with Cosmos knowing the trauma about to befall our OTP.
See below for the daily prompts. Every day has two to pick from–you are not required to use both. You can utilize as many or as few of the daily prompts as you are inspired to do. Thank you for the request. This was so fun to write !
You were woken up by a beam of bright sunlight entering a window. Still half asleep, you let your gaze travel up to the face of the woman asleep next to you with her limbs tangled in your own, her arms pulling your face against her soft boobs. Sleeping like that, Seyia looked peaceful, even angelic. She looked completely different to the woman who'd made you cum until your legs were shaking last night and you'd completely lost count of the orgasms. This was the woman who, after the concert, had driven you back to the apartment in her limousine, pushed you onto the bed and completely ripped off your clothes like it was just an everyday occurrence for her.
Which, to be honest, it probably was.
You sat up, remembering that your shift at Rei's shrine was about to start. Being late would not be a good look, especially after you'd relied on her completely for a place to crash. As soon as you shifted, however, you felt a muscular arm pull you back.
"And just where do you think you're going ?" Seyia was smirking and looking at you through half lidded eyes.
"I have work soon, so..." even after last night, something about this woman's presence made you feel flustered in a way you couldn't explain. All your thoughts seemed to melt away into nothing when she looked at you.
"I can drive you, relax," Seyia replied lazily. "Besides," she continued, her smirk growing as she let her gaze drift to the ripped underwear and blouse lying in a heap next to the bed. "It's not like you have anything to wear yet,"
You felt the heat rush to your face.
"And whose fault is that, exactly ?" Who says prodding the sleeping dragon always has to be a bad thing ?
"Drop the attitude, baby. Or do you want me to fuck it out of you that bad ?"
A surge of heat immediately rushed to your legs as you averted your gaze and tried to hide your face with your hands.
The thought was more tempting than you cared to admit, especially considering it had just been a one night stand, a way to prove that, even if Haruka left you, you were still desirable. Still attractive.
You were still stood there, unmoving as Seyia made her way to her walk in closet and picked out a simple white blouse and some loose black trousers for you. You muttered a quick thanks and took the clothes from her.
"Need any help getting dressed ?" she asked as she wrapped herself in a semi-transparent black robe. Before you had the chance to reply, she walked over to you again and started to slip the blouse on your frame, her long fingers teasing your skin with slow, deliberate movements. When she finally reached your chest, you had to suppress a grunt.
"Why are you looking at me like that, Y/N ? I'm just helping you dress," Seyia said as she inched her her face closer to your own and started to leave a trail of kisses and gentle bites on your ear. Just as you were starting to grind your pelvis against her, she pulled away and flashed you a teasing grin. You whimpered, feeling empty without the warmth of her touch.
"Look at yourself, Y/N," Seyia said with something like satisfaction in her voice
For the first time since las night, you looked at yourself properly in Seyia's mirror.
Your body was completely covered in large purplish hickeys, some in places that would be quite difficult to cover.
"How will I cover these up ? I don't have any scarves or makeup or-"
"Don't. Let the whole world know who makes you feel this good now. You're my little slut," Seyia replied, still admiring the marks all over your skin.
You nodded, your mind reverting back to the trancelike state it had been in last night, until Seyia spoke again.
"Well, we should probably get going if you wanna be on time to that shift," she thrust a pair of chunky boots in your direction. "As adorable as you look in my oversized clothing, it probably won't be comfortable to constantly step on the trouser hems,"
You nodded, burying your nose in the material of the blouse as you bent down to put the boots on. It smelled like musky, pine wood perfume and laundry detergent. As soon as you started to walk towards the door, however, you realised how difficult moving your legs properly was. They felt shaky and unstable, kind of like they were made of jelly.
"Looks like I was a little too rough, sorry about that" Seyia said, with a grin that made it clear that this was exactly what she had intended. Before you could come up with a comeback, she'd swept you off your feet and was carrying you, bridal-style, towards her car.

AS you were enjoying your lunch break in the peace of the shrine, your phone started ringing. You picked it up, almost dropping when you saw the contact name.
Haruka bae is calling
You stood completely still for a few seconds, completely in shock. Then, before you had even processed what you were doing, your thumb pressed the green "accept" button.
"Y/N ? What took you so long to pick up ?"
Still too stunned to speak, you tried to pull yourself together and answer, but Haruka beat you to it.
"Never mind. Listen, have you seen tody's issues of all the tabloids and celebrity gossip magazines ?"
"No," you managed to reply. Why on earth was your ex fiancée asking you about fucking celebrity gossip magazines ? She had never been interested in such things. Under different circumstances, you would have bust a gut laughing.
"Well, they're all plastered with pictures of you in that idol's car... Seyia I think her name was. Don't you think before you act ? How do you think it makes me look, that my ex is fooling around with flashy idols not a month after our breakup ? The press will have a field day. God, what are you even doing, letting yourself be picked up by random women like that. Don't you have any self respect or are you just that desperate ?!"
Unprecedented rage was coursing through your veins and conquering your mind. Suddenly, all the shock was completely gone.
"You really have the fucking audacity to ask me how I think it makes YOU look, Haruka ? YOU were literally the one who cheated on me and dumped me, not the other way round. And you know what ? I don't give a flying fuck about your stupid reputation. I'm free to lead life how I want now, and you don't get a say in anything that I do. So if I want to go around and sleep with every woman from here to America, it's none of your fucking business and you sure as hell can't stop me,"
You hung up before she had a chance to reply, still fuming. However, as you sat there and avoided the judgemental glances of the shrine visitors, you felt a bubble of something rise up in your chest that you hadn't felt in so long, you'd almost forgotten what it was. The more you sat there and thought about that phone call, the more this magical sensation spread through your body and made you feel light, invincible.
For the first time in months, you were in control of your own life.

Sailor Moon Fanfic Search!
Dear Tumblr, I need your help finding a fanfic!
It’s my birthday on June 13th (tomorrow/today, depending on when you see this post), so I’m going to be blazing this in the very silly hopes that perhaps the internet will bring me a present!
What I remember of the fic:
Set in the distant, distant post-canon future where space travel is common and the main cast has been dead for centuries.
The Main Character was capable of being the next Sailor Moon and was being hunted for that and had to go on the run from her rural home planet. While she could be the next Sailor Moon and the first one in a long, long time, she wasn't able to transform until very late in the story.
The MC had some sort of vaguely Chocobo-like companion who could not speak.
Hotaru/Sailor Saturn was cryogenically frozen on display in a museum, the 1st senshi found, and the only member of the original senshi to appear.
There was a planetary wide search for the other senshi that did include Neptune and Uranus in addition to the Inners.
There was definitely a heist on Venus! (For the original Venus' Henshin Rod or something similar)
At least 1 of the new Senshi was in some sort of Space Navy.
At some point, Saturn uses Death Ribbon Reborn Revolution on an enemy space craft and completely obliterates it. An extremely effective and striking scene.
Essentially all original characters, except Hotaru/Saturn.
What I remember included 3 arcs -
1. Intro/The Stakes are High And Failure Means Death/Saturn is OP
2. Space Adventure Hijinks in a variety of genres to find the other senshi.
3. Serious Space Opera End of the World Set Up and Final Battle
I feel like the main villain turned out to be someone relevant from the past/original canon, but I know I read the beginning multiple times while it was initially being written (pre-2008ish) and the ending was written sometime post-2008ish and I only read it the once.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Usagi decides to take a 300-level Emotion and Motivation Psychology class, solely because Mamoru mentioned he would be in it, making her term project on "goals" - getting Mamoru to fall in love with her (and writing a paper about it).

Usagi slipped into a college party for the food, claiming to know the host's roommate TO the host's roommate, launching a sequence of exchanges that will drive Mamoru to seriously consider what he wants.
Better Than Dreaming - @wishwars
Returning a textbook Mamoru left behind at her library table should be quite simple. Except Usagi may have gotten more than she bargained for by going inside after hearing sounds emanating from his dorm room.

At a college party, Usagi gets pushed into playing Twister by Rei and Minako against the one person who has been poking fun at her (no matter how cute he looks when he actually smiles!).
And we are lucky to get a peek at the day after too! Where Usagi and Mamoru try to figure what happened and what's next.
Summer's Day - Please, more like Moonlight- @midnightdrops
Starting with a disclaimer: this story is amazing BUT it is not complete - Dr @midnightdrops has an outline for the remaining chapters already completed but is currently drowning in work.
In this non-senshi College AU, Mamoru tries to figure out how he is feeling about his polar-opposite girlfriend, while external forces work on ripping them apart.

Mamoru x Usagi: These two will always be my OTP. They taught me love at a time when I was not seeing it in the world around me.

Usagi x Seiya: I have the inability to separate this ship from the canon and this pairing only leaves poor Mamoru alone when he doesn’t deserve such an outcome.

I never got to actually give seiusa week closure. I picked the date because my midterm exams were supposed to be over by then but then we got behind lmao so it turned out to be the most hectic week ever.
