why i don't care for anyone who dares to say the saint seiya netflix series is ""good"" or ""progressive""
gender. swapping. shun.
you know who would have made a good choice for genderswapping? ikki. that would have been a statement. that would have been real feminism, with ikki being shun's protector and we would have had lesbian pining for esmeralda and ikki not wearing a mask would have been pinned on his outlier attitude and would have made sense within canon. plus imagine girl! ikki. just imagine it.
also shame on the writers and producers who thought that turning shun--a canonically kind, caring, selfless and pacifist MALE character, challenging gender norms by crying and showing you can be a boy and love your friends and hug your brother and whatnot--into a woman WITHOUT A MASK thus sending the marin plotline to shit and the shaina one too
Edit: While characters like Kristoff (Frozen), Barbie (the Island Princess), Koko (Pokemon), Atalanta (Greek Mythology) and Egg (Boxtrolls) fits the Trope, but aren't raised by literal wolves, so I didn't put them here
Edit 2: should I make a 'best wolf parent' next? With Lupa, Andrius, Moro, Ging, Raksha and Rama? 🐺
I still kinda new in the Saint Seiya Fandom, does Fenrir has a specific wolf parent? Question Answered by @ el-cadejos

SAINT SEIYA: Knights of the Zodiac - Battle for Sanctuary Part 2 is coming!!!
Struck by a gold arrow, the goddess Athena lies dying. Seiya and the Bronze Knights have mere hours to make the perilous climb up Sanctuary and through the Twelve Houses of the Zodiac if they’re to save her life. But blocking their path are the Gold Knights, whose mastery of the Cosmo is legendary. Outclassed and out of time, the Bronze Knights will need a miracle to save Athena and the world!
I’m trying to get through the Knights of the Zodiac movie on Netflix which is apparently #4 in the top 10. Guess people wanted more Macenryu stuff after One Piece, although this is nowhere near as good.
And in addition to being a complete mess from numerous angles, why is it that every adaptation of the manga and anime skips the idea of a massive MMA tournament run by the Kido family when such a thing would honestly make more sense than the random underground fight rings that the remakes keep insisting on?
To be fair that’s the least of the film’s problems, but you’d think that given the ubiquity of MMA, that such an event that in-universe would probably be seen as a throwback to the old Pride FC Grand Prix would make more sense than the underground tournaments the writers keep putting in to remind us of other 80s direct to video films?
