RE8 Lord DLC concept
GONNA EXPAND ON THIS BECAUSE I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!
So basically this is just an idea of how i'd make a DLC about the RE8 lords cuz lets be honest THEY DESERVED ONE. So in my concept, instead of playing as the lords you'd play as one of the people in their lives (whether significant or insignificant) and experience the lords in a different perspective. Some are actual characters in the RE8 lore based off of the files, and some are just ocs i made

The Four Lords
The Four Lords who rule over the village and its residents
Lady Alcina Dimitrescu - A regal Borzoi who's much taller than your average Borzoi. She comes from a long linage of aristocrats and is very proud of it. Has three adoptive Silken Windhound daughters, Bella, Daniela, and Cassandra.
Salvador Moreau - A large sickly sickly-looking Napoleon Mastiff, has a large domain over the reservoir. Due to the mutation from the cadou parasites, he can not last long outside of the water. Has a very foul smell and a tendency to drool.
Karl Heisenberg - A Berger Picard with quite a short temper and knack for the dramatic. Rules over the Heisenberg factory, inheritance from his former relatives. Despite being Mother Miranda's personal favorite he despises the women. Often gets into scuffles with Dimitrescu, insecure about his height compared to her and his scruffy appearance. Heisenberg is a pure breed but picards have naturally wiry coats, a side effect from the cadou transplantation caused him to grow Lycan features such as a grayer coat and yellowish-gray eyes.
Donna Beneviento - A Pastore Della Lessinia Del Lagorai who enjoys keeping to herself within her family estate. She's the most shy and timid of the lords, enjoying spending more time with her dolls than her fellow lords. She has a Italian Grayhound doll Angie, who has quite the mouth on her. Heisenberg especially hates Angie but has little issues with Donna herself.

So far by playing the game, I haven't seen anyone mentioned or talked about Salvador moreu yet. Why's that? 👀
Because we were mostly focused on the ladies. Karl is the only guy in the game 😄 But Moreau does exist. He lives by the lake where he boats and fishes. Sometimes the sisters come to visit.

Then he remembered you upstairs. Ethan sighs and puts his book down. He stands up and knocks on your room door. “Sweetheart,” he calls out “are you okay?” He knew that you were still mourning the loss of your village and loved ones. When you don’t answer, he slowly opens the door and sees you nuzzled into the blankets. Sighing in relief, he lightly closes the room door to let you rest.
He crept back downstairs and began to work on dinner. Ethan couldn’t help but wonder why exactly you stumbled across his home those days ago. Of course he was relieved that you weren’t super interested in Castle Dimitrescu and it’s looming energy over the village or the salty air of the reservoir.
He knew a child such as yourself wouldn’t survive the village as it was now. He kept telling himself that keeping you here was a safe idea but deep down he knew that you would want to leave and that he can’t protect you forever. He sighed and began to wash the potatoes and carrots. He turns on the stove and puts the vegetables in a broth. Just then, the phone rings.
Ethan mutters something to himself and picks up the phone, knowing exactly who it is. “Hello, Heisenberg.” He mutters. Heiseberg doesn’t even say ‘hello’ before speaking into the phone. “Ethan Winters! I know what exactly you're hiding.” Ethan’s eyes widen in shock. “Heisenberg, you can’t tell anyone–” He’s quickly cut off. “I’m kidding, Winters! It’s not like you’re housing another child that you’ll eventually kill again…” The room gets quiet. Ethan sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. “You know I didn’t kill them.” Heisenberg laughs at Ethan’s insistence.
“Oh right. Like the Lycans always go for your little toys!” Ethan was irritated and honestly tempted to just hang up.
He knew Heisenberg enjoyed getting under his skin, but right now he needed to keep the conversation civil. He couldn’t afford having his new child upstairs to hear him go off. He took a deep breath and responded calmly, "Look, enough with the games. Just tell me what you want.” Heisenberg's laughter trailed off, replaced by a cold and calculating tone. "What I want, Ethan, is a partnership.”
Ethan’s eyes widen. “A partnership? What do you mean by—“ He had a realization. Heisenberg interrupts, "I need your help with something big, Ethan. You know how I feel about Miranda. She can’t hear this call.” Ethan leans against the wall, unamused but interested In Heisenberg’s words. "Alright," Ethan says, "I'm listening, but if this is some kind of setup...” Ethan sighs and looks off.
Heisenberg smirks and leans back into his chair. “We kill the bitch where she stands. Then, after that, we can live a free life without her control.” Ethan thinks for a while. He didn’t know how to feel about this deal. “Listen to me, papa. I can already tell you’re super protective of this child. If you don’t take my deal, I’ll have to make a report on what you have stored into your—“ Ethan cuts him off. “Fine. Just don’t hurt them.” He mutters.
He hands up the phone and sighs, leaning against the doorframe of his kitchen. As he’s in the middle of thinking, you walk in. You look up at Ethan with your pleading eyes, clearly hungry. He brushed off his feelings and chuckled. “Hm? What is it, honey? You hungry?” He kneels down to your level and ruffled your hair. “Don’t worry, I’m cooking dinner right now.” You nod and rub to the living room to explore the house more. In the kitchen, you can smell Ethan cooking some roast beef.
The smell of roasted beef and potatoes pervaded the air, filling your nostrils with the savory aroma of a hearty feast. The sweet smell of potatoes being roasted mingled with the intense scent of beef, the two creating a delicious aroma that was sure to make your mouth water. The fragrance was mouth-watering and inviting, and the thought of digging into the delicious dinner made your stomach growl with anticipation. A warm, comforting feeling washes over you as you eagerly await the meal.
Your comfort and trust in Ethan ease your worries about the recent events. He hums a small tune that invites you in the kitchen. You happily skip into the kitchen and Ethan greets you with a warm smile as he continues to prepare the meal. “Sweetheart, come here.” He grabs a small spoon and scoops up some of the broth. “Say aaah.” He puts the spoonful of soup in your mouth. “How does it taste? Too salty? Not salty enough?” You think but shake your head. The savory broth fills your senses, bringing a sense of warmth and comfort. Ethan's eyes sparkle with anticipation as he waits for your reaction, and you can't help but smile back at him, grateful for his attentive nature.
Ethan sighs and ruffled your hair. “Good. Now go play someplace. I don’t want you near the stove, okay?” In reality, he didn’t want to be stressed about Heisenberg while you were in the room. You, being a kid, run off as you’re told. You decide to investigate the house a bit. You had never really been to Ethan’s room or the living room.
Well, the living room was first you supposed. Rushing over, you feel the warmth of the fireplace and see Ethan’s favorite reading chair. There was a small table next to it with some coffee and stale cookies. Whoever was eating them hadn’t been home for a while. That, or Ethan had better things to be doing. More proof of this was the coffee being frozen cold. Being curious, you take a sip of coffee. It was bitter and black without a touch of sugar.
You swallow it, feeling worse than ever but sucking it up for your own sake. As you set down the cup, a creaking noise startles you. The noise came from the window and being the curious child you are, you look through. There’s silence. A long silence.
A Lycan beats on the window and growls. It barks and screams in an attempt to get you. You fall over after being startled so hard. You quickly get on your feet and scramble back over to Ethan. He tilts his head and looks over at the window to see the creature biting the glass. Ethan sighs and walks over to the window, telling off the Lycan and making it go away. “There’s no one here, shoo. You’re just seeing things.” The Lycan groans and whimpers in confusion. It tries to look past him but Ethan closes the window and blinds.
Your heart pounds as you watch Ethan close the window and the blinds, blocking out the unnerving sight of the Lycan. Ethan bends down to your level and cups your cheek to see if you’re hurt or bruised. “Did it touch you? I heard a thud and didn’t know if it got inside.” You shake your head reassuringly, giving Ethan a small sigh in relief. “That’s my kid.” He kisses your forehead, causing you to giggle a small bit. “Luckily, lunch should be ready soon.”
After an hour, you start to come to terms with Ethan being your new dad. You’ve just learned that you’ll have to stay behind and grow up with him. It’ll be a long time before you’re an adult and maybe Miranda will stop trying to find you. All you know was that Ethan would protect and love you as his own child no matter what.

various character notes for my nanowrimo project; these names and characters will probably shift around quite a bit but I thought it would be fun to jot down some notes here and there and see how things progress as time goes on.
Belmont & Lake Agency (formerly Sabat & Sabat)
Monserrat Belmont
“Only the most daring, tenacious, clever, and gorgeous licensed investigator in all of Jilicia! And probably all Europe, for that matter.”
Our hero. After her then-girlfriend and erstwhile-soulmate burned her apartment building down (long story), Monserrat began taking security jobs for Estelle Bastien, a wealthy and well-connected widow. Despite her reservations for working with a French aristocrat, the money's keeping her afloat, and she accepts an invitation to join Estelle aboard the Kelpie. Her boldness gets her into and out of all kinds of scrapes.
Simon Lake
“He's very reliable, actually, despite being a big, clumsy Yankee. I trust him completely, even if he shaved off his mustache.”
Le Rapace
Monserrat's junior partner who she frequently foists work upon delegates legwork and assignments to. He's lived in Jilicia for years after fleeing America. His seeming laid-back attitude belies a penetrating intellect. He's not invited on the boat. Sorry, pal.
Salvador [Surname unknown.]
“She has a reputation for being a criminal, but I only ever see her sitting on her ass gambling, boozing, and flirting with the beautiful women who follow her everywhere. Maybe she used to be somebody. Anyway, I want her life.”
Allegedly an enforcer for Le Rapace, one of many crime rings active in Jilicia. Allegedly involved with the Marais family and may have had something to do with their return to financial stability. What's known for certain is that she loves drinks, cigars, and pretty girls and is never seen publicly without at least one of each, and is always ready with pearls of wisdom. She's also not on the boat, which suits her fine.
The Bastien Family & Associates
Estelle Bastien
“No, I don't like working for a wealthy French family, and I don't trust her at all, but the money spends. Say... if I suck up enough, maybe she'll leave me her fortune.”
The matriarch of the Bastien family, who lives in Jilicia after a disgraceful exit from Parisian high society. She has a forty-six year feud with Nadia Marais. Stone-faced, calculating, paranoid, and the owner of a limitless supply of extremely stylish suits.
Veronique Bastien
“She's pretty, obviously, but even FJPA goons are easier to talk to. I don't know why Phoebe puts up with her.”
Estelle's 25 year old granddaughter. She idolizes Estelle and hates most other people. She likes to invest in unusual things, such as financing Phoebe Moreau's racing career. Living in the lap of luxury, she's extremely hard to please and very communicative about her various displeasures.
Mr. Fredkin
“Whatever they're paying him, it's not enough. But I guess guys like that think of themselves as being part of the family.”
Veronique's manservant who has the Sisyphean task of meeting her mile-long list of needs. He must accompany her aboard the Kelpie because she doesn't like to go even a few days without his cooking. Then he gets murdered.
Phoebe Moreau
“Poor girl gets really flustered when I try to talk to her. Hard to believe she's a race car driver, but I'm led to understand she's a different person behind the wheel.”
A race car driver from rural Jilicia who suffers from severe social anxiety; a Jilician but given a French name to integrate with 'the winning side.' Veronique, at Estelle's insistence, financed her construction of her car, Bellepheron. Phoebe is being introduced to society by Veronique and both terrified of and deeply dependent on her.
The Marais Family & Associates
Nadia Marais
“I hope she fucking dies.”
The matriarch of the Marais family, who recently experienced a reversal of fortunes. Sometimes affable, other times venom-tongued, she has been feuding with Estelle for reasons nobody will say aloud. A firm, outspoken believer in the inherent superiority of Europe over the rest of the world and France over the rest of Europe.
Gabrielle Souchon (formerly Marais)
“She doesn't seem like she's all there – either she's hiding something or she has to be doped up to spend time with her mother.”
Nadia's daughter. Easygoing and optimistic despite her mother's best efforts. She has an ominously good attitude about everyone around her and never seems bothered by anything. She's married to Marcel Souchon, who won't be appearing in this story, but they do talk about him.
Vivian Barker
“What are the odds that a murder would happen on a yacht with two detectives aboard? Obviously she's not going to get to the bottom of it before I do because I'm smarter and hotter... not that she's not smart in her own right, anyway. Also hot.”
A close friend of Nadia Marais and a consulting detective from England who has been invited aboard the Kelpie as a reward for solving a mystery for Nadia. Meticulous with an eye for detail and a flair for the dramatic. Her ego might even be bigger than Monserrat's.
Dr. Harriet Filmore
“She said she's a famous psychologist, but I've never heard of her. Considering Nadia and Gabrielle, how good at it could she really be?”
A discredited academic who, supposedly, treats Nadia and Gabrielle after being drummed out of her field due to scandalously callous experiments on rhesus monkeys. Gabrielle invited her along to “snap her out of her moodiness.”
The Crew of the Kelpie
Captain Nicolas De la Croix
“He fought in the Great War and now he drives a boat around for spoiled rich freaks. Honestly, after I talked to him, I think he should teach at a university or something instead, but he seems happy enough here.”
An experienced captain who now pilots yachts for wealthy French residents of Jilicia. Too much of a professional to indicate how he really feels, but he has the respect and admiration of the crew. An erudite man who reads as much as he can on all manner of topics.
Engineer Sebastian Lopez
“He was more than happy to talk about the technical details of the Kelpie and all the cutting-edge technology that make it such a marvel... y'know, I think he and the Kelpie make a great couple.”
An engineer who constantly cracks little jokes even in extremely grim situations. Although he's worked on many vessels, his heart belongs to the Kelpie. Carries himself with the swagger of a man who's living his ultimate fantasy life.
Chief Steward Lily March
“She's professional enough to work around these rich assholes, but I can tell from the way she shakes a cocktail that she's a time bomb on her last couple ticks.”
The workaholic chief steward of the Kelpie who constantly serves food, refills drinks, makes beds, and everything else required to ensure that every guest aboard the vessel is having a lovely time. Harbors intense bloodlust.
Steward Isaac Brodie
“Too bad Lake's not here, they could talk about America. I wonder if they knew each other back then?”
A young man who left America while he still could, he sails the seas sometimes as a steward, other times a deckhand, and always seems to be the one everyone asks to lend a hand. Polite to the guests but never without something world-weary and cynical to say.
Steward Maxine Shepherd
“She's very charming – everyone loves her. Within five minutes of talking to me one-on-one, she offered to sell me cocaine. If I didn't have a job to do... hey, I'm kidding, God damn it!”
A young woman of unclear origin who tells different people wildly different things about herself depending on the situation. Eager to earn her fortune by any means necessary.
Bosun Carles Palou
“Big guy, Jilician too, although he was too busy to talk to me much. But I noticed he pushes Florry and Oriol around like he's some kind of petty tyrant, so fuck him. That's no way to treat your loyal juniors!”
The short-tempered bosun of the Kelpie. Aside from Captain De la Croix, who he sucks up to, he has no time or respect for anyone. His unsociable nature gets in the way of his high level of nautical expertise.
Deckhand Oriol Vilar
“I don't think he's really old enough to be a deckhand on a yacht, but maybe he's just got a baby face. However, he's not as slick as he thinks he is. I can tell he was staring at my chest the whole time I talked to him.”
An inexperienced young man from Jilicia, he does a poor job keeping up with the hard-working, hard-drinking lifestyle of the others, but he tries his best. Painfully awkward.
Deckhand Florentin LaRue
“They call him Florry. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear the end of his shipwreck story, but this is a man who's clearly seen some shit in his day.”
Deckhand and self-appointed older brother figure to Oriol. Uncanny nautical tragedies follow him wherever he goes but that hasn't stopped him from going to sea again and again.

Quel titre magnifique ! Élégance des Temps Endormis, de l’étonnant et mystérieux Argentin Emilio Lazcano-Tegui (1887-1966). Traduction par le Goncourt 1908 Francis de Miomandre. Ici un rare double envoi, auteur et traducteur sur l’édition française (Fourcade, 1930). Pépite.

Emilio de Lascano-Tegui, baptisé vicomte par la fantaisie d'une dame, écrivain, journaliste, conservateur de musée, consul, copinant avec Apollinaire, Salmon, Pablo..., enterré le 14 avril 1966. Alors donc, quelle élégance pour ces temps endormis ? Sous ce titre (paru chez Fourcade le 1er avril 1930) qui fleure la poussière fade se dissimule une subtile machine à détraquer le temps, piège fatal où la durée se débat comme un tigre sous un filet. Voici donc quelques masques surgis crus de la nuit, inoubliés : Raymond, l'ex-curé, ci-devant cocher, champion au jeu de fouette-mémoire ; Osvald, tardif transsexuel ; Mme Salvadores, amie de l'impératrice Eugénie ; Moreau, l'étalon des bordels coloniaux... Pailletant le tout, quelques aphorismes à la gravité farcesque : « Le Moyen Âge, c'est l'enfance d'un orphelin », « La masturbation en a fini avec les demi-dieux »

Surrealism
• began in 1924 and lasted until 1966
“Nature does not create works of art. It is we, and the faculty of interpretation peculiar to the human mind, that see art” Man Ray.

“Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see”- Magritte.
• Surrealist artists aimed to delve into the unconscious mind in order to reveal the abilities of our imagination.
• Influenced by rationalism, literary realism, and heavily influenced by psychoanalysis.
• Beloved that the rational mind did not allow us to fully embrace our imagination.
• inspired by Karl Marx and aimed for the psyche to reveal contradictions within our everyday lives as well as spark a revolution.
• having personal imagination puts surrealist artists on the same line as Romanticism.
• their interest in myth and primitivism influenced many other art movements within todays world.
• Andre Breton described surrealism as “psychic automatism in its pure state, by which one proposes to express- verbally, by means of the written word, or in any other manner- the actual functioning thought”
• surrealism and the idea of automatism allows artists to go past the conscious mind and bring our visions and thoughts to life through our art, in turn allowing us to embrace chance.
• Sigmund Freud’s theory and his The Interpretation of dreams, (1899) was heavily influential within the surrealist art movement.
• Surrealist imagery is the most recognisable of the movement.
• Each artist engaging with this movement used their own motifs and ways of working in order to convey their thoughts of their dreams and unconscious mind.

Overview:
• Anti-rationalism of the Dada art movement.
• Made effective and work that was outwith the norms of the art world and gave a new direction for artists.

Beginning of Surrealism:
• grew and developed from the Dada movement and was a rebellion against middle-class’s known judgements and ignorance against others.
This art movement was also inspired by Surrealist Giorgio de Chirico, Gustave Moreau, Arnold Bocklin, Odilon Redon as well as Henri Rousseau.
Artists from the Renaissance period were also inspiration for Surrealist artists, these included Hieronymus Bosch and Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
Breton is at times described as the 'Pope' of Surrealism as he officially founded the movement in 1924.
the term "Surrealism" was founded in 1917 by Guillaume Apollinaire.
Breton's manifesto, La Revolution surrealiste this included art and writing.
The Bureau for Surrealist Research or Centrale Surrealiste established in Paris in 1924.
Surrealism: Concepts, Styles and Trends
Artist utilised their fantasy and dream imagery to create works using a wide range of media in order to convey their inner minds in an eccentric, bold, and symbolic ways. In turn this exposed ones anxieties allowing the artist to use their art to help themselves.
Surrealist Paintings:
works like Salvador Dali, Yves Tanguy and Rene Magritte's paintings were create with hyper-realistic imagery were all objects were depicted in very sharp and crisp detail with a three-dimensional quality, in turn drawing attention to their dream-like appearance and atmosphere.
works like Joan Miro and Max Ernst used many techniques and media such as; collage, doodling, frottage, decalcomania, and grattage to create their surrealism artworks.
Rise and Decline of The Surrealism Art Movement:
global war and political issues had negative effects on the views towards the art movement as civilians were in a state of crises during the 1930s and 1940s.
During World War 2 many Surrealist artist emigrated to the Americas which resulted in their ideas and work being recognised on a larger scale.
Ideas and views towards Surrealism changed and challenged due to the rise of Existentialism.
Abstract Expressionist artists were inspired by Surrealism, however Abstract Expressionism took over and invented new techniques in order to convey the unconscious.
British Surrealism:
Female Surrealist artists; Eileen Agar, Ithell Colquhoun, Edith Rimmington and Emmy Bridgwater.
The British interpretation of the Surrealist movement was towards thoughts of humans relations to their surrounding natural environment, specifically the sea.
Paul Nash had an interest in the object trouve which involved collecting objects from the beach.
The International Surrealist Exhibition (1936) in London, a major event for many British artists, in turn allowing the Surrealist art movement to thrive in the UK.

How does this relate to my work?:
When painting my sinister characters I use my imagination or images I have seen when sleeping in order to create the faces of my sinister characters. It is as though I am entering my own pitch black world where I can see these face formulate in front of me. Once they have formulated enough in my head i automatically convey their imagery onto the canvas, not thinking too much about what they will look like. I almost allow the medium and my hand to do their own thing. My works have been more refined and soft in shape much like some of the shapes within surrealist paintings, however, I have been experimenting with a new technique that allows automatism to surface allowing my to have less control on the overall outcome of my paintings. These images in my head are other worldly, I do not see them in my everyday life unless I force it in order to create my paintings. They are not images that the people around my can see unless the engage with my art.
