im almost positive that bucky doesnt bother updating anyone at avengers hq that his address and phone changed, so when they they cant contact him they probably panic

rhodey gets sent to speak to sam about bucky going AWOL, to ask if hes heard anything and that theyre gonna need sams help to find him

just for him to get to sams place in delacroix and have bucky open the door, half dressed from just waking up and drinking coffee from a handmade "worlds best uncles" mug
