So. what do y’all think about Eastward Octopia taking place in a parallel universe where none of the events in Eastward happened??

I think this is a really interesting thing to do, and I think it’ll work really well. While I was imagining another eastward game expanding on the main plot, I also feel like it would be hard to do that and have it be different from the original. While the ending was left very open ended, it felt right that way. I honestly couldn’t think of a more perfect way to go about making an eastward DLC, because if you want something more emotional and plot focused with more gameplay, you can play eastward, but if you want something more chill you can play eastward Octopia. It’s so perfect to me because sometimes I’m in the mood to get emotionally destroyed, and sometimes I want to see my favorite characters with a happy ending. And now, BOTH CAN BE CANNON!!!

But on the other hand, it’s really weird imagining the characters with none of the events in eastward happening to them. It’s also weird with there being two totally different eastward worlds that are both cannon, but I’ll probably get used to that. I also can see how some of those questions the original game left unanswered staying unanswered could be disappointing to some people. Thoughts??

I ultimately think this DLC is gonna be just what eastward fans need. Seeing my favorite characters get both bittersweet and happy endings is literally the best of both worlds <3
