Roadhouse is an interesting movie because its plot feels like a Chuck Norris direct to VHS I'd watch TV reruns of in Italian on my grandmother's TV (universal experience) but the actual execution is somehow more sophisticated than that in a way I just can't put my finger on.
I say this with full understanding that this is a movie where one of the goons (this is also a goon movie by the way) commutes via monster truck: Roadhouse is much more sophisticated than it has any right to be. Maybe it's Swayze moving like a dancer through all his fights, maybe its the themes of temptation and the honorable man,or maybe it's just a solid movie with a basic plot, but Roadhouse worked for me.
It's not a complicated film, basically playing out the classic western "Lawman comes in to clean up a town and defeat the corrupt leader's racket" but in the context of a local dive bar they're trying to make respectable and safe. Even still, maybe through the depiction of the barroom bouncer as being very polite and attempting deescalation when dealing with unruly customers before resulting to force, or maybe through Sam Elliot being a little harlot all throughout, this movie charmed me.
It's probably Sam Elliot being a little thottie in this that got me. When he came onscreen every female in the theater literally gasped. He's just that delicious in this.

FROGS (1972) Reviews of nature-fights-back eco-horror
‘A tidal wave of slithering, slimy horror devouring, destroying all in its path!’ Frogs is a 1972 American ecological horror film directed by George McCowan from a screenplay written by Robert Hutchison and Robert Blees. The soundtrack score was provided by Les Baxter. The film falls into the “eco-horror” category since it tells the story of an upper-class US Southern family that is attacked by…

a dwindling, mercurial high
However Grizz thought this talk was going to go, it wasn’t this. He’s surprised at himself, at the words that just keep pouring from his mouth. He should probably be a bit embarrassed about how… open he’s being. It’s pretty fucking vulnerable.
But, if he really thinks about it, he’s already lived through the worst. It’s hard to imagine his heart getting obliterated more than it already has. He could put up more walls, seal said heart behind towers that even the most daring knight would have trouble climbing. It would be safe, what’s left of it anyways.
The cracks might fill in eventually. Scar tissue covering the once-weeping wounds, permanently marring and hardening the surface of his formerly tender heart. It would hurt less as time passed and maybe that would be bearable.
But it would never get better.
If he doesn’t do this, if he doesn’t get everything out into the open, these feelings will fester. Grizz doesn’t want to be that person; the one who doesn’t know how to grow or move on. If there’s a chance for closure or, dare he wish, something more? It’s worth laying bare every inch of stored up insecurity and heartbreak.
A look at the world through the eyes of one Grizz Visser. Follow along as he falls for Sam, falls apart, and what happens when he returns. Part character study, part Grizzam indulgence, and featuring plenty of literary references.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
August 19th - Red Hulk / Thunderbolt Ross
General Thaddeus E. ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross had a storied career in the military and was assigned to oversee a secret project that sought to develop a bomb based on gamma radiation.  The experiment resulted in the creation of the Incredible Hulk.  Feeling responsible for unleashing this monster, General Ross spent the next several years chasing and attempting to capture or kill The Hulk.
Increasingly desperate, Ross went to extremes in his pursuit of the Hulk, frequently taking measures that bent or even broke the law.   This ultimately resulted in his being charged with treason and dishonorably discharged from the military.
Following further misadventures, Ross ended up striking a devil’s bargain with the villains known as The Intelligencia.  They engaged in an intricate plan in which gamma radiation was siphoned off of The Hulk and transplanted onto Ross.  This resulted in Ross becoming a Hulk himself and he transformed into a massive, red-skinned behemoth.  The villains utilized a life-model decoy of Ross to assuage any suspicion over this new Red Hulk’s true identity.
Ross would go on to have many adventures as the Red Hulk, frequently defying the orders of the villains who had empowered him.   Later, Ross put together his own Thunderbolts squad known as Code Red; the team consisted of The Punisher, Agent Venom, Elektra and The Leader.
In a final confrontation with The Hulk, The Red Hulk was defeated and his true identity exposed.  He was remanded as a prisoner at Gamma Base until he was furloughed by Captain America who needed his aide as a member of The Avengers.  Ross would ultimately loss his ability to transform into the Red Hulk, yet regained them briefly during a confrontation with the villains known as The Power Elite.
General Ross featured in the 2003 movie, Hulk, portrayed by actor Sam Elliot; he has additionally featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe where he was portrayed by actor William Hurt.  Ross first appeared in the pages of The Incredible Hulk #1 (1962); his first appearance as The Red Hulk was in Hulk Vol. 2 #1 (2008).

Ang Lee directs 'Hulk' on Hulu
Ang Lee directs ‘Hulk’ on Hulu
He’s big, he’s green, and he’s pissed off. With Hulk (2003), Ang Lee, director of the Jane Austen adaptation Sense and Sensibility and the devastating The Ice Storm, drops the atomic age Jekyll and Hyde comic book icon created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby into an Ang Lee movie. The repressed anger and memories of experimental scientist Bruce Banner (Australian actor Eric Bana), whose family…
