Torn III
Kewis x Child!Reader
Summary: You're still sick
Tumblr media
Mommy doesn't get you dressed properly the next day.
She lets you stay in your pyjamas because you're sick. She's sick too but not as sick as you.
Mom, of course, still has her hurt knee but she's the only one not sick in the entire house.
Your head pounds and your nose remains stuffy even as you play with your dinosaur toys, making them attack each other because they're in a war and that's what things do in a war. They fight.
"Open," Mommy says and you firmly clamp your teeth together," Chook, I'm not joking. Open."
She's got a syringe full of medicine in her hands and you refuse to open your mouth.
You've never had good tasting medicine before and you refuse to believe that Mommy's gone out and bought some.
You keep your mouth shut.
"Chook," She says sternly," This will make you feel better."
You sniff, wiping your nose on your shirt and shake your head. You know if you talk, Mommy's going to dose you up so you settle on just glaring, puffing out your cheeks to show her that you're wise to her tricks.
"Chook," She says again," We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either way, you're taking your medicine."
"Chook," Mom says from the sofa," Come here."
Warily, you skirt around Mommy and run over to Mom, who lifts you up to sit next to her. Immediately, she attacks your sides with tickles and you can't keep your mouth closed anymore, opening it to let out peals of giggles.
Mommy squirts the medicine down your throat and Mom's ticklish hands disappear.
You glare, eyebrows drawing together in outrage. "That was mean!" You say," You cheated!"
Mommy laughs, ruffling your hair. "It was sneaky," She says," Not cheating. You'll feel better soon."
You huff but know she's right, shuffling off the sofa to return to your toys.
Helen joins you, curling up next to your side. Her ear flicks a few times as you continue your dino war. You have to blow your nose a few times because it gets clogged but Mommy is right because the churning of your stomach settles and your head no longer feels like it does when you bang it on a wall by accident.
"What do you want to watch?" Sam asks, channel surfing as she keeps one eye on you playing with Helen.
Kristie sighs. She doesn't look as bad as you did but it's still clear she's sick. She's got a bit of a fever and the end of her nose is all red. "Something that requires me to not think," She groans, massaging her temples to stem off the headache. She's only recently taken her own painkillers so she has a bit of wait until they kick in.
"So trash reality tv?" Sam teases and Kristie whacks her with a pillow.
You're playing nicely on the rug with Helen and your dinosaurs despite how ill you are.
Maybe eating all that dirt gave you a stronger immune system than Kristie thought.
"There's Love Island," Sam offers and you whip your head around.
"No!" You say," That's mine and Auntie Millie's show! You can't watch it! It'll spoil it!"
You sound adamant and Kristie manages to get out a laugh that could have been a cough.
"It's not a new episode, Chook," Sam assures you with her own laugh," It's last season. It's not going to spoil anything."
Your brow furrows for a moment before you're up on your feet. You've got two dinosaurs clutched in your hands as you wiggle yourself between your mothers.
They're sitting close enough that their legs are touching so you make sure to force them apart so you can be comfortable.
"Last season was okay," You tell Kristie very seriously," I will watch with you so you know what's going to happen. Mom, you need to put on Love Island."
Sam keeps laughing. "Oh? I need to, do I Chook?"
"Yes. That's what I just said. You need to, Mom."
With the other options being Deal or No Deal and Flog It, Sam's pretty sure that Love Island was truly her only option and changes the channel.
Clearly, the medicine has perked you up a bit because Kristie doesn't get a moment of respite the entire episode as you narrate what's going on during every single little moment.
Somehow, you manage to put yourself to sleep during it until you're lying draped over Sam and Kristie's laps.
"And we just let Millie watch this show with her?" Kristie asks, dumbstruck and Sam chuckles nervously.
"I didn't think she actually absorbed this much of it," Sam replies," It's like she studied it or something."
You shift a little in your sleep, death gripping your plastic dinosaurs so hard that Kristie can't pry them from your hands.
"Well," Kristie says," At least she's taking her nap without arguing."
"You mean, at least you can take your nap without her interrupting," Sam teases and Kristie rolls her eyes.
She lifts your limp body easily into her arms as she stands up. "Well, just for that. I don't think you can join us for naptime."
"Hey...Kristie! Kristie, wait! I'm sorry! Wait for me!"
Kristie doesn't wait for Sam though as she makes her way to their bedroom.
She settles you in the very middle of the bed but slipping in next to you.
You wiggle a little bit as Kristie tugs you closer, laying a protective hand over your belly just as Sam hobbles in, taking her own place in bed on your other side.
Helen joins in too, leaping up onto the bed and curling herself up around your feet.
"You have to get her to take medicine when we wake up," Kristie says, already half asleep.
"No fair! She's wise to my tricks now!"
"Not my problem, Sam."

You can be a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare II Ali Krieger x Mewis!Reader
Tumblr media
masterlist I word count: 2599
The heat of the day was gone, and it started to cool down in New Jersey. The breeze made you shiver, so did the words of Ali Krieger with whom you had a love affair for the past weeks: “Y/n, you’re 13 years younger than me and I just go through a separation from my wife.” “Ali.”, you tried to soothe her doubting face. Sadness lay in the eyes of the defender while she was looking at you: “I can’t do that.” “But you kissed me first and you said that it meant something to you.”, the hurt in your voice was undeniable.
Regret was shimmering through her words: “I shouldn’t have done that. You’re way too young for me.” “I’m not that young, Ali.”, you interjected. Eyerolling Ali countered: “You’re 26.” “Yes, which makes me an adult.”, you protested. Softly the older woman replied:” I know you’re.”
This didn’t change the fact that you were 13 years younger than her, this much you both knew.  The defender made very clear that it was time to end the thing whatever you two had going on before anyone could get too hurt. So, you decided:” I should go.”
Meanwhile Ali’s daughter Sloane was standing right behind you and interrupted your talk, with big eyes she pleaded:” Don’t go, you promised me a good night story.” “No, she’s right. She should go.”, the dark-haired woman declared. The toddler looked disappointed at her mother: ”But-“ “It’s okay, Sloane. Maybe, we’ll do that another time in the future.” , you reassuringly hugged the little girl.
Audibly Ali cleared her throat: “Goodbye, I hope I’ll see you soon.” “We play in the same team, so I guess we can’t avoid seeing each other.”, you reminded her. Nervously the older woman went through her hair with one hand: “Yes, sure.” “Bye.”, you waved at them. “Goodbye.”
Were those tears shimmering in her beautiful brown eyes? But weren’t you the one who was allowed to grieve the possibility of what you two could have become when she ended it? Confused you left the home of the woman who broke your heart.
A worried Sloane looked up to her mother:” Why do you look so sad, momma?” “I’m not. I just have a hard decision to make. But it’s bad time for you now.”, Ali tried to shrug it off. “No.”, the toddler whined. “Yes, come on.”, the defender’s lips curled up into a tired smile as she knew all too well that her daughter would be soon asleep by the time her small head hit her pillow.
“Ali! Lynn! Doesn’t my little sister look super hot in this outfit?“, Kristie Mewis yelled a week later at Gothams next NWSL game. It has become kind of a ritual that the players took pictures of their outfits before the games for social media. You stood in front of the camera, rolling your eyes at your older sister; “Kristie, stop it.“ “Just admit that I picked it out for you!“, she protested with a laugh. You objected, frowning; “I picked it out. You just lend me the clothes!“ “I picked it out!“, Kristie insisted again. You could easily forget that she was the older one. “Whoever did it, I’m sure every queer woman would be happy to unpack her.“, Lynn interrupted your discussion with a wink.
Ali who stood next to her, waiting for her turn to be photographed, said flatly; “What’s there to unpack? She’s barely wearing anything.“ You could feel your cheeks heat with anger. Before you could answer, Kristie looked at the defender; “Don’t be mean, Ali. It’s a cute fit.“ She gave you a proud smile while Ali shrugged; “It’s true, Kristie.“ Your sister deliberately ignored her negative comments and walked up to you; “Come here. Let’s take some sister photos together to send to Sammy.“ “Sammy will pout forever about the fact that she wasn’t included in this picture.“, you reminded Kristie and immediately smiled at the thought of your other sister who currently played in Kansas. Kristie grinned into the camera; “Let’s be honest, she probably would have ruined it.“ “Still, you know her.“ “Yes, I do.“, she rolled her eyes.
You had taken a quick selfie with Kristie too and texted it to Sam. Now you held up your phone in Kristies face; “Told you. She’s already pouting in her text messages. We need to send her a good snack for when she’s doing her next podcast episode to make up for it.“ “Trust me, she’ll survive.“, Kristie replied with a dismissive wave of her hand. Lynn nodded in agreement; “Yeah, she’s already busy with other things. Sammy will forget about that photo by tomorrow.“ As her podcast partner, Lynn always knew what Sam was up to. “Yeah, you two are probably right.“, you shrugged but sent your sister in Kansas a heart emoji anyway. “We are. Believe us.“, Kristie winked.
After the match Ali was standing next to your locker, arms crossed in front of her chest: “Where do you think you’re going with this outfit?” “I’m going out.”, you shrugged with your shoulders. Although her reaction fuelled your anger. She did not have a right to react jealous. Curiously she asked: “Out? With whom?” “Oh, just with Kristie and some other teammates.”, you replied nonchalantly.
Bitterly the defender answered:” Go and have fun then.” Innocently smiling Kristie intervened: “Isn’t Ashlyn looking after your kids tonight? Come on, Ali. You should join us.” “I don’t think Ali is interested in partying with us.”, you told her. Much to both of your surprise the captain of the team replied:” You know what? Why not? I got nothing else to do.” “Great, this is going to be so much fun.”, your older sister chirmed. A small smile lightened up Alis whole face: “I’m sure it will be.” “We’ll see about that.”, you whispered frustrated.
The club Kristie chose was new and trendy and settled in Manhattan. The music was good, and you and your teammates enjoyed the night out. A stranger came up to you: “Hi, can I get you a drink?” She looked pretty and you could not help but to nod along: “Sure.” “No.”, Ali interrupted the talk between the two of you. “No? I think I can decide that on my own.”, you huffed. Determined the defender shook her head: “No, you can’t.” With these words she took your hand and walked off with you.
Furiously you glanced at her: “Seriously, what the fuck Ali?” “What? It’s impolite. You’re out with us.”, she pointed out. Annoyed with her actions you scoffed: We both know that’s not why you did it.” “Maybe not. But that doesn’t matter. The others don’t have to know.”, Ali admitted.  “Don’t worry, Kristie doesn’t know with whom I spent my summer.”, you disclosed. The mentioning of your older sister made the dark-haired woman smile in amusement:” “Kristie doesn’t seem to be bothered anyway. She’s on the phone with her girlfriend.” “And where are Kelley and Lynn?”, you couldn’t help but to ask. While Ali took you on to the dance floor without asking you: “At the bar.” “Oh.”
“Come on. You should have some fun.”, she smirked. As you were starting to move to the music you wanted to know from her:” Are you enjoying your parenting free night?” “I do.”, with that said you could feel her hands placed around your hips. You tried to keep your tone light: “That’s great.” “But I do miss them.”, the older woman answered. A sigh escaped your lips:“I miss them too to be honest.” “They miss you too.” Surprised you looked at her:”Really?” “Sure. You’ve met them quite a few times.”, Ali replied while her fingers touched your naked skin which made you shiver. Secretly you hated that your body still reacted to her like this.
Apparently, she had also noticed your reaction because she quickly pulled her hand away. “Yes, that’s true.“, you replied, trying to ignore what had just happened. Ali furrowed her eyebrows, looking at you intently; “Are you okay?“ “Yes, I’m fine… I think I’ll go home now.“, you explained, turning away from her. “Already?“ “Yes. Good night, Ali.“
You took your bag and were about to leave when you suddenly felt her hand close around your wrist. “Let me bring you home. Your sister obviously isn’t going to.“, Ali decided rather than offered. You followed her gaze to Kristie, who stood off to the side with her phone pressed to her ear and giggled about something her girlfriend must have said. “We should not interrupt her when she’s talking to her girlfriend.“, you had to admit. Ali finally let go of your hand; “I’m sure the others will make sure that she gets home safe. But now let me take you home.“
Your brain was constantly screaming at you while you accepted the offer and followed Ali to her car. The car ride was unusually silent but you were half expecting the awkwardness already. When the car stopped in front of your apartment building, you realized that Ali had gotten out of the car to open the passenger door for you. You gave her a tight smile; “Thanks for bringing me home.“ “You’re welcome.“, she answered politely. While pulling the keys out of your bag, you noticed that Ali hasn’t moved.
With a sigh, you turned to her, finally asking you the question that was bothering you the whole night; “Ali… did you already find someone new?“ The defender seemed taken aback by the question; “No. I’m not looking for someone right now.“ “I see.“ “It’s all a bit much right now. I thought I’d focus on myself and my children. What about you? Are you seeing anyone?“, Ali continued. You shook your head, your lips pressed together tightly; “No. I think I’ll focus on my career right now.“ “That sounds… reasonable.“ “I know.“ You were just about to turn the keys and unlock the door when Ali spoke up again; “You know I’m sorry, right? I didn’t think when we started this. Or else I wouldn’t have put us both through this mess.“ “So you regret us?“, you asked, your voice a pitch higher than you wanted it to be. “That’s not what I said.“, Ali retorted defensively.
You heaved a long sigh; “I guess it’ll be easier when the season ends.“ “Yes. I think it will be. That gives us more space.“, the defender agreed. “Right and we’ll never have to see each other again.“ Ali rolled her eyes at your remark; “You know, you can be a bit dramatic sometimes?“ “To be fair, I learned from the best. Kristie and you.“, you laughed involuntarily. “I’m not dramatic! Your sister is!“, Ali protested with a wide grin. “Yeah, she’s a little bit more drama.“
For a second, everything felt like the break-up never happened but then Alis’ face turned serious again; “See. I’m sure you’ll be alright. You’re an amazing soccer player, smart and pretty, and you have your two sister who always got your back. You don’t need me.“
“Ali, you know that’s not true. I do need you.”, you disagreed. Her expression was unchanged as she answered: “No, you don’t.” “I still don’t care about the age gap. I thought you should know that. Good night, Ali.”, you smiled disappointed. “I do know that. Good night.”
Yet she still did not move so you asked the defender:” Ali, why are you still standing here?” “What? Oh, sorry. I was just thinking.”, Ali blushed. “Thinking about what?” “Mistakes.”, the older woman truthfully replied. Sharply you shot back: “Well, I think you made very clear that we were a mistake.” “No. But apparently think that if you keep accusing me of saying that.”, she shook her head. You could feel your cheek turn red:” Sorry.” “ I don’t think this was a mistake. What was a mistake was the fact that I didn’t think about it before starting something with you. That would have saved us the trouble.”, Ali summed it up. Slowly you nodded:”Right.”
“But now I’m wondering if it’s a mistake to let you go.”, the defender cautiously looked into your eyes. The words left your mouth before you could think more deeply about them: “Don’t let go.” This said she closed the gap between you and pressed her lips onto yours while you replied to her kiss with an equally passion, running your hands through her dark long hair. All the emotions finally making their way out as you embraced each other. Needless to say, Ali did not leave that night.
After your now girlfriends last game where was a big party being held in her honour. All her friends were there to celebrate her long soccer career. Proudly you kissed her which made Kristie gasp out loud: “Oh. My. God!”
“Why are you yelling, Kristie?”, your other sister Sam Mewis asked amused because she was well versed in the older sibling’s talent to make everything super dramatic as if you were part of a reality show. “Our little sister is making out with Ali!”, the blonde shouted into her ear. Unimpressed the taller woman looked at her:” And?” “And seriously?!”, Kristie repeated playfully shocked.
That made Sam laugh out loud: “Yes?” “Why aren’t you freaking out about this?”, the smaller midfielder wanted to know. “Should I?” “Well, they look happy, right?”, the older sister observed as she glanced at Ali and you. Giggling the middle sibling remarked: “I don’t know. They’re about to eat each other up.”
Kristie grimaced in disgust; “Ew, gross.“ “As if you and were any better with your girlfriend.“, Megan Rapinoe interrupted the sisters, giving Kristie a smirk. Sam gasped with widened eyes, happy about the mutual understanding between her and Megan; “Don’t even get me started! You can’t even have a normal conversation without them making out!“
“Let’s try it with this new couple, shall we?“, Megans wife asked, a challenging look on their face. But before she could her plan to action, Ali took her lips off of yours for a second and yelled; “We’re busy here!“ “Get a room!“, Kristie answered. You eyed your sister with scepticism; “Coming from you?“ “Don’t talk to me in this tone, young lady.“, Kristie warned, playfully raising her finger at you. You cringed; “You’re my older sister, not my mum.“
Ali got up, taking your hand in hers; “Let’s leave, love.“ “Please.“, you answered, looking at your sisters with feigned disdain. “Bye, guys.“, Ali waved while gently leading you outside. Kristie watched you with her mouth open; “You can’t just abduct my sister.“ “This is consensual.“, you clarified with a laugh. “This better be!“, Kristie yelled after you. You smiled at her and Sam, waving them goodbye; “See you tomorrow.“ “Or not.“, Kristie added. Sam snorted; “Probably not.“ “Girls!“, you called. But Ali nudged you with her shoulder, giving you a wink; “They are not wrong though.“ “Go.“, Sam rolled her eyes, gesturing for you to finally leave. Sue smiled as she watched you two; “Seems like we don’t have to worry about Ali being bored after her retirement from soccer.“ “I was never worried about that.“, Megan replied, amused.
Kristie in the meantime had taken a step away from the group and was holding her phone to her ear. “Kristie, what are you doing?“, Sam asked. “Uhm, telling mum the news?“, her sister answered, looking at her like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Sam shook her head at her; “Oh my god, Kristie. That’s exactly why I’m mums favorite.“

wet dream | sam kerr x kristie mewis
kristie can’t sleep.. sam has a wet dream.. smutty fluff ensues
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jet lag is not a choice.
As much as Kristie tries to tell her that it is, that jet lag is some kind of false mentality that people use as an excuse for travel exhaustion, when really it’s just a mixture of sleep deprivation and being in an airtight container for hours on end.
It’s her first time doing the Australia -> Dubai -> London trip and she’s never felt more awake yet dead asleep in her entire life.
Sam is the exception to jetlag, something that Kristie is still struggling to come to terms with, the 8 hour time difference is messing with her and even though it’s technically 2am in the morning, to her it feels like she should be waking up.
She’s come to terms with the fact that she isn’t sleeping any time soon, waiting for Sam to be deep in sleep until she reaches over to turn on the reading light on her side of Sam’s bed and pull out her book. Kristie’s eyes may be drooping and her body is aching but she figures if the reading doesn’t tire her out then nothing else really will.
It’s when she’s made it a few pages into the first chapter that the woman sleeping next to her starts to make little huffs and mewling noises, Kristie finds it cute. Sam and her have been dating for only a couple of months, most of it has been long distance due to covid so to have somebody she’s been desperate for, sleeping peacefully next to her, it makes her feel so much happier.
She stays focused on her book, her eyes slowly scanning over each words, paying far more attention to each syllable then she probably should. Sam’s adorable noises continue, little breathy, croaky noises leaving her lover's mouth as she moves alongside Kristie.
It goes on like that for a little bit, whilst Kristie works through pages upon pages, Sam’s noises slowly starting to get louder and her body jostling with the sheets as he dreams continue to consume her.
Kristie’s brain somewhere along the way must simply sync whatever noises Sam is generating out, her mind solely focused on the chapters that she’s working her way through, she doesn’t really notice when Sam’s little noises turn into moans, or when her tossing and turning turns into a sort of grinding motion, all she knows is that she’s gotten to the point where she’s suddenly feeling somewhat tired and if she’s going to try and go to sleep at some stage tonight now is probably the time.
She’s folded the corner of her book and put it down on her bedside table, about to flick out the light when she hears Sam beside her. Kristie does a double take, unsure if the sleep deprivation has actually gotten the best of her or if she’s just heard what she thinks she did. She freezes, waiting, and when she hears the same noise again, she flips straight over, untrusting of what her ears are picking up.
Her throat is dry, looking at Sam and watching as her hips thrust upwards, her mouth agape as little pants and occasionally a moan slips from behind her teeth.
Kristie can’t believe what she’s seeing, its truly baffling to her.
Sam and her have been together for just a couple of months, sleeping with somebody beside her after finally getting used to being alone in her bed has been an.. adjustment, to say the least. This feels like an invasion of Sam’s privacy in some way, like Kristie is seeing something she most certainly shouldn’t.
At first, it doesn’t even cross her mind that Sam would be dreaming about her, all Kristie can think about is how bad of a situation she’s suddenly in.
Her own thighs are slowly getting sticky as she sits frozen, a spectator in whatever it is that Sam’s dreaming of.
It’s not until her name is murmured out amongst a particularly loud moan and thrust of Sam’s hips that it all clicks for her.
Sam’s having a sex dream about Kristie, in bed with Kristie. A good one by the looks of it.
They’ve been apart for months, Kristie can’t really think of a time in their relationship where they’ve been together for more than two weeks, beside the time they quarantined together. Australia had been great, but they were in a house with Sam’s parents, it was hardly a place where Kristie felt comfortable to be fucking around with Sam, as much as Sam had tried her hardest.
It made sense that there would be pent up sexual energy, had they both not been so exhausted when they’d gotten home from the airport it probably would have been the first order of business, but both were too exhausted to eat, let alone try and reunite with each other's bodies.
So they’d settled for cuddles and a movie in bed, although Sam didn’t even make it ten minutes before she was dead weight on top of Kristie. That had been around 10 o’clock, It’s nearing 4 now and Kristie is desperate to succumb to her exhaustion but also aware that with Sam feeling whatever it is she is, she’s not getting to sleep until either Sam’s dream drifts away or she wakes up.
Kristie finds her own solution, when a particularly dirty moan of her name, tainted with the chestiness from Sam’s half asleep voice makes the stickiness between her legs transition to a desire so deep in her that she’d be stupid to ignore it.
Sam is the initiator out of the two of them, it’s always been that way and Kristie’s been happy to adhere to however Sam wants her in the bedroom, right now though, she’s got all the power and there are a million things going through her head. It makes her grateful that Sam normally takes the reins, because Kristie is fairly certain that if this level of thinking was needed every single time she wanted to have sex with her girlfriend then their sex lives would be far more boring.
Kristie leans over, pressing her lips to Sam’s neck, hoping that somehow it’ll wake her up, it doesn’t.
When her lips don’t seem to suffice, Kristie brings her hand up to Sam’s waist, her fingers dragging across her hip bones and slowly migrating up to the space between her ribs and breasts.
Kristie’s fingers are feather light, trying to coax Sam out of whatever deep sleep she’s in, it only seems to spur on the state she’s in though, her body leaning into Kristie’s touch and her pants getting louder.
Kristie’s running out of ideas, her wet lips are dragging up and down the column of Sam’s neck and her fingers are pressing in slightly harder along her hips bones and the underside of her breasts, yet Sam is still completely unconscious.
Kristie’s brain short circuits, her desperation for Sam to wake up so that she can finally have a moment with her before getting some good, quality sleep.
Suddenly, her pointer and thumb are pinching down on Sam’s nipple, twisting it in her fingers until Sam's whole body jerks, her eyes snapping open.
It’s uncharacteristically sadistic for Kristie. She doesn’t normally like to inflict pain on anybody, especially her loved ones, but she can’t help but love the way that Sam’s body reacts.
Sam takes quite a few seconds to realise exactly what’s happening, Kristie buries her lips and face in Sam’s neck sucking little marks into her neck.
Sam’s body tenses for a couple of seconds, probably whilst she’s trying to figure out what’s happening, but as soon as everything begins to put itself into place, Sam’s body relaxes, her hands raising from beneath the covers to shift Kristie’s hips onto her own, helping Kristie to swing her legs over Sam’s hips and straddle her. Kristie’s lips never leave her neck, her hands however, move up and down, dragging along the skin along Sam’s torso.
“Kris.”
Kristie continues suckling at Sam’s tanned neck, specifically focusing on her pulse point.
Kristie’s determined, she knows Sam is already worked up, she’s determined to somehow work her up even more, get her as hot and bothered as possible.
“Kristie, babe.”
Sam’s hands tighten on her hips, when Kristie’s lips don’t let up, Sam reaches her hands up, gently pushing Kristie’s head out of her neck, getting a proper look at her.
“Babe, no teasing.”
Sam’s words have a clear undertone, Kristie is not in charge.
She’s temporarily been handed control due to her jumping Sam, she is not the one calling the shots though.
“Good dream, huh?”
Sam’s blushing, it’s a sight that Kristie’s seen very little of, her very confident and cocky partner all of a sudden looking subdued.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”
There is the cockiness, back in full swing.
“Kristie, oh, Kristie.”
Kristie’s mimic of Sam’s noises are pretty accurate in her own opinion, Sam seems less than impressed.
“Is it a crime for me to dream about my girl?”
The possessiveness has Kristie keening, Sam’s always made it clear that Kristie is hers, she’s not one for sharing, Kristie belongs to her and vice versa.
“Mm, so what exactly were you dreaming about me?”
Kristie’s hands haunt Sam’s skin, dancing in small circles all over her, purposely avoiding the spots that she knows will give Sam any form of pleasure.
“Kristie.”
Sam’s whining, it’s something Kristie doesn’t see very often.
“Tell me and I’ll touch you, tell me what’s got you so worked up.”
Kristie brushes her fingers over Sam’s nipples, just long enough to feel them harden underneath her tips before moving them away and back down to Sam’s stomach.
“You can’t be serious?”
Sam’s displeased, but she’s also desperate for Kristie’s hand to do something other than draw little patterns up and along her skin, she wants them touching her, touching her where she needs her the most.
“Babe, you got me so worked up with all those little noises, those little thrusts? All whilst you were asleep, now I want you to tell me what was it about that little dream of yours that made you moan louder than I’ve ever heard, or maybe I won’t touch you at all.”
Sam is a quiet lover, she expresses her feelings and thoughts on her face, she doesn’t need to vocalise. That’s why Kristie had been so shocked to hear her so unusually loud.
“Kristie, don’t forget your place.”
Kristie figures that if she’s ever going to try and one up Sam, her time is now. She’s got the advantage, she’s on top, Sam’s anchored to the bed underneath her, hips pinned underneath Kristie’s.
“I think I’m remembering my place just fine, now, what was it that you were dreaming about?”
Sam and Kristie are both stubborn by nature, neither of them like to lose, give up or give in. Sam looks so desperate though, Kristie’s convinced that she might just win this time around.
“Was dreaming about you.”
Kristie rewards the admission with a squeeze of Sam’s right breast, but that’s it, she needs more if Sam wants more from her.
“C’mon love, you can do better than that.”
Kristie brings her fingers back up to the nipple she’d previously abused, tugging at it gently, licking her lips when Sam’s back arches up from underneath her.
“Fuck Kris, seriously?”
Kristie nods her head, her lip caught between her teeth as she subtly grinds her hip against Sam’s and continues to toy with the nipple between her fingers.
“Dreamt about Paris.”
Kristie smirks, a big knowing smirk.
Her hands trail down, under the waistband of Sam’s cotton sleep shorts, cupping her, feeling the warmth and wetness that has spread itself all over Sam’s shorts and thighs.
“Mm, what about Paris baby, you can do it, tell me.”
Sam looks like she might just kill Kristie, her dream had put her on edge, but Kristie teasing her, it’s putting her on a different level of arousal.
“F-fuck Kris, the balcony, the kitchen, the beach, the bed, all of it.”
Paris was the last time her and Sam had the opportunity to properly share a bed for less than 24 hours, after the Olympics, it had possibly been the best sex Kristie had in her entire life. Four days, of just her and Sam. It had been the first true introduction they’d had to each other, the first time that they got to properly appreciate and worship every part of each other's bodies.
Kristie lets her finger dip down, connecting with Sam’s clit. Sam rolls her hips into Kristie’s fingers, vying for more pressure, more movement, more anything.
“Mm? What about it, you can tell me.”
Kristie keeps her thumb on Sam’s clit, whilst her middle finger and ring finger trail down through Sam’s wetness to her cunt.
Sam’s completely soaked, her arousal is all over Kristie’s hand, her pussy is attempting to suck Kristie’s fingers in, Kristie is too tempted, but she’s relishing in the power she holds and she’s not quite ready to give it up yet.
“You want my fingers? Tell me what you were dreaming about.”
Kristie put her two fingers right at Sam’s entrance, dipping in and out with the very tips of her fingers.
“F-fuck me, Kris.”
Kristie shakes her head.
“I’ll fuck you when you tell me what you were dreaming about.”
Sam’s so desperate, more desperate than she thinks she's ever been before.
“Fuck, Kris, all of it, night two after dinner in the shower.”
Kristie smiles, it’s a favourite memory of hers.
Something about showers, alcohol and first time anal was pretty hard to forget.
Kristie pushes her fingers slowly into Sam, there isn’t any reluctance but she wants to draw out Sam’s pleasure for as long as possible, to do that she has to be slower, hard and fast too early is probably going to result in Sam orgasming in ten seconds.
Kristie starts off with a slow pace, trying to find the spot inside Sam which she knows will make her legs shake.
It doesn’t take too long, Sam helps her, jutting her hips up into Kristie’s hand until she finally brushes up against Sam’s sweet spot.
Kristie’s desperate to draw out one of those moans that she heard whilst Sam was in her unconscious state, it’s a sound that she’ll never be able to get out of her head and she’s so desperate to hear more of it.
Kristie pushes her palm down against Sam’s clit, roughening her approach and fastening her strokes.
“Getting close babe? Making you feel good am I?”
The scrunch between Sam’s brows tells Kristie all she needs to know, but she wants to hear it from her.
“F-fuck Kris, so good.”
Kristie smirks, this is definitely not the way she would have imagined spending tonight and even if it’s panned out in a weird way, she definitely isn’t mad about it. These moments with Sam are what makes being together so perfect, there is always some surprise or something new that’s introduced with every new step they take together.
“Mm, gonna cum for me babe?”
Sam nods her head, her lip caught between her teeth, her back arched up and her bed hair spread out across the pillow as if it were a halo of brown locks.
“F-fuck Kris, gonna cum for you babe.”
Kristie smirks, leaning down to press her lips to Sam’s.
The kiss is rushed and desperate but Kristie loves it, she loves every second of it.
“Be loud for me baby, I know you can do it, c’mon, cum all over my hand.”
Sam’s hips suddenly freeze and she lets out a deep groan into Kristie’s mouth, her walls spasming around Kristie’s fingers.
She grinds out the aftershocks on Kristie’s hands, Sam’s hips nudging up against Kristie in random movements as she comes down from her high.
Sam pushes Kristie’s hand away when it becomes too much, Kristie gently removes her fingers from Sam’s pussy, bringing them up to her mouth and licking Sam’s taste off of her fingers. Once she’s done, she leans down, bringing Sam into a dirty kiss and sharing the flavour that she’s grown to love so much.
When Sam’s hand makes its way down to the band of Kristie’s sleep shorts, she shakes her head, pulling Sam’s hand from her skin and bringing it up to rest on her arm. Kristie wants some sleep, and she knows that if Sam and her get started she’s not getting some any time soon.
Sam’s brow raises in questioning, neither of them are one to turn each other down, and it’s taking every part of Kristie’s will to deny her.
“Sleep baby, sex tomorrow.”
Kristie rests her forehead against Sam’s, pressing a kiss to the bridge of her nose.
“You, my love, are magical and I’ll prove that to you in the morning.”
Kristie presses more kisses to Sam’s skin, enjoying the praise from her girlfriend.
“Was I equally as magical in your dream, huh?”
Kristie giggles as Sam’s hands begin to assault her sides, digging into her ribs and sending Kristie into a fit. She is vulnerable enough for Sam to be able to flip her over so she’s no longer the one on top, Sam is.
“You are magical all the time, in my dreams, on the pitch, in my bed, across the world, you are perfect.”
Sam’s the one now who begins to press kisses all over Kristie’s face, her lips attach themselves to every single part of her scalp, nose and cheeks.
“Alright, I get it, you love me.”
Sam hits Kristie’s chest, rolling her eyes as she tumbles off of her body to lie down next to her.
Kristie keeps waiting for the day where this all ends, where the honeymoon phase suddenly stops and all of the love sick obsession finally passes and yet it hasn’t, not a bit of the puppy love that started on their first date has faded and it honestly terrifies Kristie because she doesn’t want the day to come, she’s petrified that it will come and that her love for Sam will suddenly, rapidly diminish.
“I love you too Sam, you’re just as perfect.”
Sam smiles at Kristie, the both of them flipped on their sides and looking at each other with the same amount of admiration as each other.
“Mm, well there will be lots of loving in the morning, but you my love look exhausted and in need of some hugs.”
Sam makes grabby hands and Kristie leans into her touch with such ease that it’s practically no effort whatsoever.
Sam leans over to turn Kristie’s reading lamp off, switching it off before gathering Kristie in her arms and relaxing back into the pillows.
Sleep comes to Kristie a lot easier, the mixture of Sam’s touch and her exhaustion helps her to drift off, in possibly her favourite place on earth.

illness pt. 2
A few days later, Y/N's friends decided to take matters into their own hands. They were deeply concerned about her health and knew that waiting any longer wasn't an option. Jessie, Kristie, and Sam hatched a plan to trick Y/N into seeing a doctor, despite her reluctance.
"Hey, Y/N," Jessie said one morning, her tone casual, "how about we go grab some coffee today? There's this new café I've been wanting to check out."
Y/N, still under the impression that her friends had respected her wish to avoid the topic, readily agreed. "Sure, sounds great. I could use a good cup of coffee."
Little did Y/N know that the coffee shop was just a cover for their true intention—a doctor's appointment that Kristie had secretly scheduled. They believed that once Y/N was at the clinic, she would be more likely to follow through.
As they arrived at the medical clinic, Y/N's confusion and frustration grew. She had expected a coffee shop, not a doctor's office. Her anger flared as they entered the building.
"What's going on here, Jessie?" Y/N demanded, her voice sharp with irritation.
Jessie exchanged a glance with Kristie and Sam, their determination unwavering. "Y/N, we're just taking a little detour. Trust us, it's for your own good."
Y/N felt a surge of anger rise within her. "This is not what I agreed to! You had no right to do this."
Despite her protests and frustration, Y/N found herself sitting in the doctor's waiting room, her arms crossed and her mood decidedly foul. Her friends had tricked her, and she couldn't believe they would go to such lengths.
The minutes ticked by slowly, and Y/N's anger simmered beneath the surface as she waited for her appointment. She shot occasional glares at her friends, who remained resolute in their decision. They knew that Y/N needed to get checked out, even if she was furious with them in the process.
“Y/N?” A nurse came out before Y/N stood up to follow her.
“No, you guys can stay out here,” Y/N snapped when she saw them wanting to go in with her.
… … … … … … … … … …
Y/N continued to seethe with frustration and anger as they left the doctor's office, her frustration simmering beneath the surface. Her friends, Jessie, Kristie, and Sam, walked alongside her, trying to offer words of comfort and support, but her mood remained dark.
"I can't believe you all did this," Y/N muttered, her voice tinged with resentment. "I could have handled it on my own."
Jessie reached out, attempting to hold Y/N's hand, but Y/N pulled away, unwilling to accept their gestures of reassurance. She was furious that her friends had tricked her into the appointment.
The ride back home was tense and filled with awkward silence, with Y/N stewing in her anger. When they finally reached their destination, Y/N stormed inside her apartment, slamming the door shut behind her while Jessie, Kristie, and Sam felt the repercussions of their actions.
“Maybe we shouldn’t have done that.” Jessie sighs feeling a tremendous amount of guilt. “We know how much she values trust and honesty and that stunt we pulled wasn’t the right approach.”
“She wouldn’t have gone.” Kristie tries to reason. “It happened before. She refused to seek medical attention during one camp a few years ago despite everyone trying to convince her she needed it. Coach had to give her an ultimatum and it saved her because it turns out she was playing with a broken rib that was centimeters from puncturing her lung. One wrong hit or twist and it would have had terrible circumstances. She’ll refuse doctors until someone forces her.”
“Still feels wrong.”
… … … … … … … … … …
Y/N phone rang a few hours later and when she saw the caller ID, her heart skipped a beat. It was the doctor. She knows better than the doctor's calling after hours. With trembling hands, she answered the call.
As she listened to the doctor's words, her world seemed to spin out of control. Shock, fear, and disbelief washed over her, and she could hardly process the devastating news.
After hanging up the phone, Y/N was in a daze. She needed to clear her head, to escape the suffocating reality that had suddenly encased her. Without a word, she grabbed her shoes and jacket and headed for the door, determined to go for a walk to gather her thoughts.
As Y/N walked past Jessie, Kristie, and Sam, her friends immediately sensed that something was terribly amiss. The weight of their concern bore down on her, but she remained resolute, refusing to acknowledge their inquiries.
"Y/N, is everything okay?" Jessie asked, her voice laced with genuine worry. She exchanged a concerned glance with Kristie and Sam, who were equally perplexed by Y/N's demeanor.
Y/N's steps slowed briefly, a hint of hesitation in her gait, but she quickly pushed it aside. She couldn't bear to let them in, not when her world had just been shattered by the doctor's call. Without a word, she continued to move toward the door.
Kristie reached out, gently placing a hand on Y/N's arm, trying to get her attention. "Y/N, please, talk to us. Something's clearly bothering you."
Y/N jerked her arm away, her emotions boiling over. She couldn't keep up the façade any longer. Her voice trembled as she finally addressed them, her eyes brimming with tears of frustration and despair.
"You want to know what's wrong?" Y/N snapped, her tone bitter and broken. "The doctor called me with the results. You want the answer so bad?!” Y/N paused, “It's cancer. Are you guys happy now?"
Her revelation hung heavily in the air, a crushing weight that sent shockwaves through their hearts. Jessie, Kristie, and Sam were stunned into silence, their expressions shifting from concern to disbelief. None of them had expected such a devastating diagnosis, and they were left grappling with their own guilt and remorse for how they had handled the situation.
Jessie stepped forward, her heart aching for her girlfriend, and she instinctively moved in to offer a comforting hug. But Y/N's reaction was visceral. She pushed Jessie away with a force that surprised them all.
"Y/N…" Jessie began, her voice trembling with concern.
Tears streamed down her face as she lashed out at her friends, her voice filled with bitterness and betrayal. "No, fuck you all for ruining my trust. I need to be alone."
Her words hung heavy in the air, cutting through the tension in the room like a knife. Y/N's anger and pain were palpable, and she felt like her world had crumbled around her.
"Y/N, you shouldn't be alone after that news," Sam spoke up, her voice gentle but firm. She understood Y/N's need for space, but she also recognized the immense weight of the diagnosis and the importance of being there for their friend in her darkest hour.
“I need space. If you have any respect for me and what I need, you will not follow me. Just let me be by myself.” Y/N opens the door to leave before turning back and requesting one more thing. “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

Whumptober 2023: 28 (Sam/Kristie)
No. 28: “We might not make it to the morning; so go on and tell me now.”
Bloody Knife | Sacrifice | “You’ll have to go through me.”
Spotting Kristie and Sam, you bolt towards them. You can hear the footsteps behind you, matching your pace.
The women turn their heads at the incoming commotion, confused and horrified at what they see. They can’t think of a single reason that you- a barely old enough to drink football player- would be being chased by a man twice your height and easily double your age. To make it even creepier, he’s wearing a shirt with your face on it.
(And as much as you hate it, you’re also kinda obsessed. It must be custom, there’s no way they sell that in stores.)
The rational side of your brain tells you that you probably shouldn’t be leading a strange man closer to your friends. The other part, the part currently winning, was screaming at you to make it to them as fast as you could. They were safe. They would keep you safe.
You approach the women, Kristie yanking you into her arms. Her grip is tight, pressing you close to her body and turning so she’s between you and your new friend.
Sam takes a different approach. She steps toe-to-toe with this man, not allowing the height difference to deter her. In her Australian accent, she’s shouting at him to leave you alone.
When he tries to respond, she shuts him up quickly with a sharp glare. He’s unsure as to what to do now, this much you can tell through the two bodies between you. But slowly, you can see him start to move his feet to the side. It’s a small movement, almost unnoticeable, but Sam and Kristie pick up on it immediately.
“If you’re going to get to her,” Sam threatens in a low tone, “you’ll have to go through me.”
The man stands, clearly unsure. On one hand, Sam’s scary. On the other hand, he’s so close that he could almost touch you- his biggest dream.
His decision is made a second later when another voice is heard.
“And me.”
If he thought Sam was scary, Kristie was absolutely terrifying. Deciding that it’s not worth it, he turns around and hightails it out of there.
The two women surround you, questioning what had happened and ensuring that you were okay. If only that man knew, these fierce bodyguards were actually total softies.

Forever you
Sam Mewis x fem reader
Tumblr media
Sam Mewis x fem reader
 Y/N Pov.
“Okay, He’s just not that into you or My big feet greek weeding?” Sam asks as I exit the bathroom, I laugh as I see her.
She’s in her favorite grey Nike hoodie; her blanked pulled up to her chest, cuddled in.
“Sam-“ I say but she cuts me off.
“No we’re not watching Tomb Rider again, we watched this movie like a 100 times.”
“Sam.” I repeat and she finally stops scrolling through Netflix and looks up at me.
“I can’t watch a movie with you tonight, Kelley set up a Date with me, some friend of her that lives here.” I explain and see her jaw drop.
“I’m sorry.” I add but she shakes her head.
“No, go. You shouldn’t let them wait.” She says and I nod.
“Okay, see you later.” I say, grabbing my key, wallet, phone and a jacket.
This is the last Camp this year and it’s in Santa Barbara, Sam and I are roommates. Honestly I just love it, she is one of my favorites on the team (Even I would never say that out loud).
I see Kelley standing in the hotel lobby with some guy.
“Oh, this is Y/N, Y/N my old friend Brian.” She introduces me and he smiles at me politely.
“It’s nice to meet you, Y/N.” he says and I return his smile.
“It’s nice to meet you too.” I say, even I’m not sure if I really mean it.
“Great, have a nice evening you too now go.” Kelley interrupts almost kicking us out.
“Chill.” I say and follow Brian.
He leads me to his car and we drive to a fancy restaurant somewhere near the beach.
“So what position do you play in?” he asks after the waiter brought or drinks and took or orders.
“Midfielder, what do you do for living?” I ask back and he starts a whole speech about his work as a High School teacher and what excuses his students tell him why they couldn’t make their homework.
I nod and smile, try to laugh about some things but it just gets more boring, the food is great. And when he goes to pay at the waitress table I take a look at my phone, I missed a call from my mom and there’s a message from Kelley asking how it goes. But I only have eyes for the background, it’s a picture of Sam and me from last year. We had a Camp two weeks before Christmas and they decided it would be a funny idea to go around to hotel, caroling. Sam dressed up as reindeer and I as a elf, she carried me on her back around and it was honestly just hilarious.
I want her to be her instant of that boring teacher guy, Sam would be funny and make me laugh the whole time, while we play smash or pass with the other guest and share dessert like we always do.
Fuck I miss her right now.
“So Y/N, I really loved our dinner but should we take this date somewhere else?” Brian asks as we leave the restaurant.
“Uhm…I would love to but I have practice in the morning and it’s already late.” I lie, tomorrow is my day off, I just don’t want to “Take this date somewhere else” if you know what I mean.
“That’s okay, I’ll give you a ride back.” He says and gives me a smile as we walk back to his car.
 Sam Pov.
I watch Y/N leave and wipe a tear away as she closes the door behind her, she looked so breathtaking, the dress/suit hugging all her curves perfectly.
I let out a sigh and turn the TV off, a couple of minutes later there’s a knock on the door and I practically run to open the door. Maybe it’s Y/N and she decided to stay.
“Hey, sis.” Kristie says as I open the door.
“Hi.” I say, trying to hide my disappointment.
“The team wants to make a movie night and I wanted to ask if you and Y/N are coming.” She explains and I shrug.
“Y/N isn’t here, she has a date.”
“Oh…Sam…I’m so sorry.” Kristie says and hugs me, I told her about my feelings for Y/N shortly after I realized it.
“Come on, you need to get your mind of her.” She says, taking my hand as she steps back.
“I don’t know.” I say but she cuts me off.
“I won’t take no as an answer, come.” She pulls me out of the room and down the hall, we stop at Alex and Kellys room, most of the girls are already there and I sit down next to Pino.
“Okay please anything but Love-Drama I can’t take the “Oh my god I love you but we can’t be together” movies right now.” Sonnett demands as she and Abby come in with snacks in their hands.
“Okay, any suggestions?” Alex asks, scrolling through Netflix.
“Tomb Rider.” I say, suddenly feeling the wish to watch Y/Ns favorite movie.
“Yeah but the new one.” Pino answers and somehow everyone is okay with the movie choice.
At the scene where Lara ends on the island after the boat sank, I miss Y/N usual comment about how hot Alicia Vikander looks. I pull my phone out of my pocket and the first things I see is her smile as my background picture. It’s from last Christmas, I’m dressed as a reindeer, Y/N is on my back dressed as a elf, she looks so beautiful in the green suit, laughing about something I’ve said, holding onto my shoulders. I can exactly remember the moment after, she leant down to kiss my nose and left a red lipstick mark there.
“Now you look like Rudolph.” She whispered and laughed at my face, sadly the person that took the photo already walked away so this moment only exist in our memory.
There I can still feel her lips against my skin, I can hear her laugh, I can smell her sweet sent, that’s where I can still feel her.
That’s what I’m missing in the last months, I feel like I can’t feel her anymore. We’re drifting apart and every time I try to hold her she’s slipping through my fingers, it’s like I would try to catch smoke with my bare hands.
I put my phone away and stand up.
“I’m gonna go back to my room, I’m really tired.” I excuse myself and they nod, only Kristie gives me a knowing look.
I lay down in my bed and look over at Y/Ns empty bed, there’s a stuffed animal sitting next to her pillow, another memory rushes through my mind.
“Come on, Sammy please. I can’t do it because of my hand.” Y/N begged, we we’re at the beach in Los Angeles and stooped at a sport store. Apparently if you could hold yourself on a pull-up bar for more than a minute you win something. Y/N broke her wrist a couple of weeks ago, she could still play soccer but wasn’t allowed to do anything with her hand.
After a couple of minutes I gave in and managed it to hold myself for three minutes, Y/N chooses a grey elephant. “He is a Salvador Dali elephant and his name is Samanther.” She said with a serious voice, I laughed about the fact that she named him after my nickname.
I get up and grab the elephant before laying back down, holding the animal close to my chest. “Why can’t you just want me?” I whisper to Y/N’s empty bed “Why can’t you be mine.”
  Third Person Pov.
It’s almost 1 in the morning when Y/N enters the hotel again, Brian tried to kiss her as they arrived at the hotel earlier that night but she leant back, not wanting it at all.
Instate of going inside she decided to go for a walk, clearing her mind a bit and the cold night air helped her relaxing.
Sams bedside lamp is still on but the blond midfielder is asleep when Y/N comes in, she goes into the bathroom and chances into her pjs and brushing her teeth, when she goes back to her bed she notices the grey elephant is gone.
As she looks around she sees Sam is holding something close to her chest, just a grey ear looks out under her blanket, slowly trying not to wake her up Y/N kneels down in front of her.
She watches the sleeping woman for a while, admiring her, with her thumb she touches Sams cheek, feeling the soft and warm skin under her.
Out of a sudden, Sam opens her warm blue eyes, looking back at Y/N, there’s not a single word spoken, there’s no need to.
Slowly and as gentle as possible Sam cups Y/N check with her hand, leaning forward but still her eyes are looked with Y/N’s.
They lean closer and just when there about to feel each other’s lips, Y/N closes her eyes and Sam does the same. And without a single back thought or worry but finally they meet in a soft, loving kiss, sharing feelings they both hold back for so long, in attempting to not ruin their friendship.
When air becomes a problem they pull away, but there still close enough to feel each other’s breath against their skin.
“I love you and fuck I’ve loved you for so long, to long.” Sam whispers in the space between them, breaking the silence.
“Samantha I love you with everything that I am and I feel the love that I have for you even in the last tiny corner in my heart.” Y/N answers and somehow it’s obvious now, both of them realizing the sings they ignored for too long.
The moments they caught the other one staring, the times they feel asleep watching movies just to wake up cuddled close together, the team meetings where they always sat next to each other, or the late night talks they had.
Sam wraps her arms around the other woman and pulls her into bed next to her, holding her close to her chest, like the elephant before.
And for a long time, they just lay there, holding onto each other, feeling each other’s fast heartbeat.
“Why did you go out with him?” Sam suddenly asks, remembering why Y/N weren’t there when she fell asleep.
“It was Kelley’s idea, she wanted to get my mind onto something else, but it was really boring.” Y/N answers, turning onto her stomach, looking up at Sam.
“He is nothing compared to you. You are the only one I want, I want your loud, funny, charming and sometimes foolish everything. I want you.”
“You are everything I want too, everything and more.” Sam says, letting a tear falling down. She doesn’t care what happens outside this room, there’s nothing that could make her leave, not even if the world was ending right now, the only place she would want to be is here, safely wrapped in Y/N’s arms,
 3 years later:
Y/N takes Sam’s hands in hers as she smiles at her.
“Samantha, I love you with everything that I am and I feel the love that I have for you even in the last tiny corner in my heart. You are my person, my favorite, my best friend and the love of my life. There wasn’t a single day in the last three years that I didn’t think of you. I love every little moment we shared together and I love that even when we lost both sets of our car keys that we still could laugh about it. And still after all this years of knowing each other we still have something to talk about every time we two are together, we never got bored of each other, I honestly just can’t get enough of you, you still make my heart jump when you smile at me and I still feel like my skin is on fire when you touch me. Love isn’t easy, it’s not perfect but loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done and to me you are perfect, in every way. I will be there for you, as your wife, your friend, your team mate, your soul mate. I love you and all I have left to say is that I’m gonna love you till the day I die. ” Y/N ends, watching a tear running down Sam’s face, but she isn’t the only one crying today.
“Y/N, my lover, my bestie, my everything. When we first meet, a part of me knew that you’re something special and that you will take a special place in my heart, but I never imagined that I would end up here, marrying the love of my life, the person that knows everything about me and never gets bored of my creasy ass, I never imagined that you’d be my forever. But now, I am so happy that I get to call you mine, for the rest of my life, I love you!”
It takes much for them not just to kiss now, instead they wipe there tears away.
“Y/N.” the weeding officant says making both of them look at him.
“Do you take Samantha June Mewis as your lawfully wedded wife, for better or for worse, in good times and bad, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.” Y/N answers, sliding a ring onto Sam’s left ring finger.
“Samantha, do you take Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N as your lawfully weeded wife, for better or for worse, in good times and bad, for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do.” Sam answers, sliding a ring onto Y/N’s left ring finger.
“By these acts and according to the laws of the State of Massachusetts I hereby pronounce you wife and wife.”
There family’s and close friends cheer behind them as the couple leans in, kissing each other softly, letting each other feel there love.
“I love you.” Y/N whispers as they pull away.
“I love you too, Mrs Mewis.”
It was a small weeding, only close friends and family, many people would think it wasn’t a perfect day to get married, it was a cold rainy December day in Boston, but for Sam and Y/N it was perfect. Not just because it was exactly two years, two months and two days after their first kiss, it was perfect because they had each other and that was enough.
They love each other and that’s enough for them.
That’s everything they ever need.
And everything they could care about in the moment they shared their first kiss as a married couple.

Kewis x Child!Reader
Summary: No one tells you anything
Tumblr media
Something bad happens to Mom when she's away with Chelsea.
She comes back with crutches and a bandage around her leg. It's pretty bad, you gather, but no one tells you what exactly is wrong with her.
"Careful, chook," Mom says as you round the corner chasing after Helen," Don't run so fast. I'm delicate."
You give her an unimpressed look at interrupting you but don't say anything because she's hurt. You have to do that a lot now. Mom is very busy trying to recover, Mommy tells you often, and that you shouldn't interrupt her while she's doing that.
Mommy is trying to clean up around the two of you while muttering to Auntie Sam on the phone. You think that's a little funny sometimes, that you have an Auntie Sam and the Mom's adult name is Sam too.
It's kind of funny but you don't dwell on it for long because Helen pops her head up over the coffee table that Mom's using to stretch her boo-boo leg. Helen gives you a look that says 'keep-playing-with-me' so you hurry to follow her, grabbing the jingly bells on a stick to wave at her.
It's her favourite toy and you shake it for her to paw at.
"Hey," Mommy moves past and takes it off you," Mom's trying to relax. How about we play quietly?"
You huff but don't argue. Helen mews rudely at Mommy as you go to sit in your play corner.
Mommy's packed away all your loud, interesting toys so you're forced to play with the boring princess toys Grandpa got you for Christmas. You make one of your dinosaurs eat her.
Usually, when you play with dinosaurs, Mom comes over to play with you but she and Mommy are cuddling on the sofa and talking in hushed voices.
You know that means they're having an adult conversation about Mom's injury that they don't want you to hear about.
You know the very bare minimum about Mom's knee. You knew she hurt it when she went on holiday with Chelsea and recently came back home from the hospital surgery she had.
She walks around on crutches now and isn't allowed to pick you up or run around with you anymore.
It's very annoying and it makes her sad sometimes. You try to cheer her up but Mommy always directs you to play by yourself because she's scared that you'll hurt Mom.
"What are you doing there, chook?" Mom asks when she watches you take the clothes off of one of your princesses.
"Dinos can't eat clothes, Mom," You reply," Got to be naked to eat."
You brutally smack your Spinosaurus against the princess and make crude eating sounds with your mouth.
Mommy wrinkles her nose in disgust like every time you do something like this. You think Mommy's a bit like a princess sometimes because she likes dressing up all pretty and is less willing to play rough with you like Mom does.
"What happened to playing nice?" Mommy asks," We have to treat everyone with respect."
You roll your eyes. "Toys aren't real people, Mommy. They're just pretend."
Mom laughs. "She's got you there, Kristie."
Kristie is Mommy's grown up name and you think that's kind of cool. Her name is even like a princess name and sometimes Auntie Sam jokes that she's the princess of eyebrows.
Mommy is very proud of her eyebrows but she's not been taking care of them like she usually does because she's very focused on helping Mom with her knee.
At the thought of Mom's injury, you huff and bumshuffle your way with your Spinosaurus and Allosaurus over to Helen sitting in her cat tree.
Sam watches you go. You've been different since she came home injured. Not different enough that she's overly concerned but enough that she's begun to notice it.
"She's doing it again," She whispers to Kristie as they both watch your little shoulders slouch into yourself when you turn around, as if to check that they're both still there.
Your eyes stay focused on where Sam's leg is propped up on the table.
"I think the injury is throwing her off a little," Kristie replies with a sigh," I imagine this is a lot."
"Are we paying enough attention to her? I mean..."
They watch you as you wander back to your play corner and try to drag your big tub of dinosaurs over to Helen's cat tree. You're practically obsessed with dinosaurs ever since you caught a rerun of Dinosaur King on the tv.
It had launched an obsession that Sam likened to her own for football and your absolute favourite thing was handing her and Kristie dinosaurs so they could play with you.
"Heya, Chook," Sam calls out," Do you need some help there?"
"Can't help," You grunt as you helplessly tug at the box," You're hurt."
"Well, I can help," Kristie says, already moving to get up.
You freeze her with a look of contempt. "Can't help either. You have to look after Mom." You move around the box to push it rather than pull and it suddenly gets a lot easier.
It's a stupid thing to be proud of, Sam thinks, but she's proud nonetheless. You're a good little problem solver and you're clearly picking up on hers and Kristie's behaviours without it being fully explained to you.
You sit in front of Helen and put out a dinosaur in front of her. Sam's not sure what kind it is but that's fine because you clearly do, as you choose your own dinosaur from the box and make it fight Helen's.
Kristie moves to sit crosslegged next to you. You spare her a glance but go back to playing.
She reaches into your box.
"Can't touch unless you're playing," You say firmly," And you can't play.
"Why can't I play?"
"Because you have to look after Mom."
"And that means I can't play?"
"No." You make Helen's dinosaur lay on its side and die because that's what happens with dinosaurs. "Because Mom's more important than playing and I'm littler so I can be forgotten."
Your words don't really make sense and yet somehow makes perfect sense to Kristie. She sighs.
"Are you feeling sad? Because I haven't been playing with you since Mom hurt her leg?"
"I'm not sad," You say as you pick out another dinosaur for Helen," I'm littler than Mom and she's bigger and has a boo-boo so she needs to be looked after."
"Mommy can still play with you," Mom says from her spot on the sofa. She hasn't said much since Mommy came over but she has been watching. "If you bring the box over here then I can play too."
You glance over your shoulder with a look that makes it clear you think she's lying. "You can't play, Mom," You say," Because you've hurt your knee and you're delicate. You said so."
"I did, didn't I?" Mom laughs a bit awkwardly. "As long as you don't run around or anything, we can still play. Here." She awkwardly moves to sit on the floor, throwing a sofa cushion down to rest her leg on as she sits by the coffee table.
You're still a little sceptical and you glance at Mommy to check. She's in charge of what you do with Mom because you're littler than her and she's got working knees.
She gives you nod. "If we all stay sitting, we can play at the table."
Kristie tries not to feel the guilt in her chest when you light up like a Christmas tree and shove your box across the floor. You never used to look so happy when she and Sam offered to play with you.
"You can be the Microceratus, Mommy, because it's pretty like you." You hand her the toy. "And you can be my Ornithomimus because it's fast." You hand Sam the toy.
Sam smiles. "Thanks, chook. What are you going to be?"
"I'm going to be Spinosaurus," You say," Because they're my favourite."
You dip into your box to grab your little trees and bushes to dot around the table to make a scene. You go to grab your Spinosaurus before stopping. You glance between Sam and Kristie.
"Can...Can we play later too? Please? If Mom's knee is less hurt?"
Sam smiles at you. "Of course we can play later, chook."

A kiss from my enemy II Erin Cuthbert x Reader
Tumblr media
masterlist I word count: 2811
A/N: Would you like us to write more about Chelsea's Fab 4?
A day before the CL game Chelsea against Real Madrid Erin Cuthbert found herself among her friends, drinking coffee in Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis new home. It was a quite cozy afternoon despite the Blues knowing there was a big match ahead of them at Stamford Bridge.
Expectantly the American midfielder sipped from her cup of coffee before looking at the Scottish woman: So, it’s true what they say, Erin? That you forget she’s your girlfriend when you two play against each other?”
“Doesn’t everyone do that?”, Erin laughed it off. Next to her sat Guro Reiten who nodded grinning: “Yeah Magda definitely said that too.” “That’s not true for Sam and me.”, Kristie announced.
Amused Millie Bright replied:” Of course not.”  “I still see her as my fiancée.”, the Westham player added beaming proudly. Smiling Erin realized: “And I’ll see her as my girlfriend before and after the game. Shit, I think she heard that we are talking about her, she’s trying to face time me right now.”
“Take the call!”, Sam advised the younger woman. Enthusiastic Millie agreed:” Yeah, let’s all say hi.” “Oh yes, hello chica!”, Guro greeted her first.
Blushing you put a loose string of your hair behind your hair:” Hola! Erin, you didn’t text me you were still with your friends otherwise I’d have tried to call you later.” “Sorry, drinking coffee with them always takes a bit longer.”, your girlfriend apologized with a sheepishly smile.
Quickly you reassured her:” That’s okay.” You paused for a moment before you turned your attention to her recently injured teammate:” How are you, Sammy?”
“I’m good. I got my girls.”, Sam waved it off, placing a hand on her fiancée’s thigh. The latter one asked curiously:” Tell me where did you get that lipstick? It’s so pretty!” “Kristie.”, Erin rolled her eyes, visibly annoyed. Innocently Kristie told her:”What?”
“I’ll send you a screenshot with it, Kristie. But back to you captain Cuthbert.”, you cleared your throat and turned the attention to your girlfriend. She furrowed her eyebrows in response:” Captain Cuthbert?” “I read you’ll captain Chelsea tomorrow.”, you snorted.
A teasing smile played on the Scottish international lips: “Oh, you read that?” “This is going to be spice, the girlfriend’s being the captain of each of their respectable teams, I can’t wait for it.”, Sam exclaimed.
Immediately Erin tried to cool off the striker’s excitement for the roles you were about to play tomorrow: “It’s not that big of a deal, Sam.”  “Honestly.”, you underlined her message with your word. Not convinced by your reaction Sam said:” Uh huh sure.”
“The press and the fans will make a big deal out of it.“, Kristie agreed with her fiancée. Sam shrugged; “It is a big thing.“ “We’ll see but I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow.“, you subtly tried to change the topic. “Oh, we can wait.“, Sam grinned back at you. Erin shook her head; “No, I can’t. Because some of us don’t have their girlfriends living in the same city.“
She gave Sam and Kristie a jokingly accusing look. “You’re the only one she’ll get to see tomorrow anyway. And Guro. The rest of us is injured.“, Sam commented, pointing down to her knee brace. Millies who was also out with an injury announced; “But we’ll be there at the Bridge and say hi.“ “Maybe.“, the Australian added with a smirk.
Millie rolled her eyes at her teammate; “Ignore Sammy.“ “Okay, enjoy your coffee, guys. See you tomorrow.“, you waved into the camera. “See you.“, Erin answered before ending the call. Excitedly, Kristie looked at Erin; “I’ll be there tomorrow for the gay drama.“
“If West Ham doesn’t train at the same time.“, Sam reminded her. “Right.“ “But we’ll be there.“, Millie interjected. “Anyone any more coffee?“, the injured striker asked. Erin shared a smile with her friends and answered; “Absolutely.“
Champions League nights always felt even more special than normal league games. The stadium was starting to fill while both teams finished their warm-up routines. Guro was the first Chelsea player to pull you into a quick hug; “Hi.“ “Hi. Ready for the game?“, the Norwegian asked. You nodded; “Yes, I’m ready. What about you?“
She rubbed her hands with excitement; “Ready to smash Madrid.“ Unimpressed, you replied; “Oh, we will give you a good fight.“ “Like you guys did against Barcelona?“, Erins teasing voice appeared out of nowhere, immediately wiping the smile off your face. You could hear the annoyance in your own voice as you answered; “Oh shut up. You’d lose against Barcelona too.“
“But at least we managed to draw against them. Something your team hasn’t managed.“, Erin countered. “But Chelsea lost the CL final in 2021. Barca won 4:0.“, you reminded her cooly.
Your girlfriend tilted her head; “And how far did Madrid make it?“ You knew she was trying to play some mind games and that you shouldn’t react to it but you couldn’t stop yourself from snapping; “What’s your fucking problem, Cuthbert?“
She reacted with a casual shrug; “I’m just saying it as it is. You’re already out of the CL. Again.“ “Whatever you’re trying to do, this won’t work.“, you warned her before your team mate caught your attention; “Hayley?“ “Yes, we need to get in line. The game is about to start.“, Hayley Raso reminded you while adjusting the bow in her hair.
Turning into your captain mode you put your armband on:“I’m coming.”  While the CL hymn was playing the Australian forward noticed:” Did you lost your hairband?” Quickly Hayley gave you the extra hairband she had around her wrist. You mouthed a sincere thank you.
This didn’t got unnoticed by Erin who softly elbowed her Norwegian friend:” Have you seen that, Guro?” “What?”, Guro asked confused, she clearly missed the moment her teammate was referring to. Biting her lip the Scottish midfielder answered:” Doesn’t matter, let’s win this game.” “Alright.”, Guro sighed before they went to their starting positions.
The first half begun, and you were eager to prove that you’d give the team of your girlfriend a good fight. Your confidence grew as you fairly tackled Erin to get the ball. Enraged the Scottish player stood up, cursing quietly so only you could hear her words tripping with fury:” What the fuck was that?”   “Next time you got to be faster.”, you replied with a smug smile on your face.
Under her breath she told you:” Learn to play football next time. That was a foul.” “It wasn’t.”, you shook your head.  Immediately Erin disagreed: “Of course it was.” The tension between you was almost touchable. Later your girlfriend knocked you off your feet. “Hey!”, you protested loudly.
Quickly Athenea del Castillo was at your side, shouting:” That was a foul.” “If that earlier wasn’t a foul, this isn’t either.”, the Scottish midfielder snapped. Slowly you got up, promising her:” You’ll get that back.” And you held your promise only a couple of minutes later you assisted Athenea in scoring the equalizer for Madrid.
But you couldn’t enjoy the celebration with your team as Erin whispered into your ear:” You think you’re so good, huh? You’re still losing.” She was right only a minute after Madrid scored, they did again but this time it was only an own goal, resulting in a 2:1 for the Blues.
“Yes!”, Niamh Charles cheered. Triumphantly Erin turned her head to you:” Told you, you’d lose.” “Get over yourself, Cuthbert.”, you rolled your eyes at her. Her following comment made your heart race even faster: “Don’t be such a sore loser.”  “We still have twenty plus minutes left.”, you reminded her. Confidently she remarked:” That’s not enough time for you.”
Her words proofed to be right. From a reasonable point of view, you knew that a win wouldn’t have changed the fact that you couldn’t qualify for the next round, the loss still stung. Numbly you could hear Guro happily scream:” We’re qualified, girls!”  “Don’t you want to go over to your girlfriend?”, cautiously Hayley padded your shoulder. Stubbornly you mumbled: “No.”
Confused the Australian player furrowed her eyebrows:” Why not?” “I’m too mad at her right now.”, you replied honestly. The eyes of your teammate turned soft:” We were out anyway.” “I know.”, you sighed deeply.
Smiling Hayley tried to cheer you up:” And we did give them a tough time.” “That’s true. Sorry, I’m not being a good captain, I should comfort you and not the other way around.”, you apologized. Warmly the forward reminded you:” Sometimes even the captain needs to be comforted.”
At the same time Erin said to her teammates:” I’m back in a second.” “Don’t go away for too long!”, Niamh shouted after her grinning. The Chelsea captain of the night shook her head:” I won’t.” “Good!”, Ashley exclaimed cheerfully.
Laughing the Scottish midfielder told them:” You can start celebrating without me.”  With these words she turned to you, her kiss caught you off card, as you mumbled:” Good game, Erin.” “Sorry for what I said during the game. You know I don’t mean it.”, your girlfriend whispered into your embrace, her cheeks flushed.
Startled you looked at her:” You don’t?” “Of course I don’t.”, she answered. Confidently you glanced at her:” But I was right, we didn’t make it easy for you.” “Yeah, you were.”, the Chelsea player admitted.
A cheeky smile appeared on your lips:” If you kiss me again, I might forgive you.” “Okay, but then I got to leave.”, Erin nodded giving you a more passionate kiss than before. “Alright.”
For a second she rested her forehead against yours: ”Come over to our dressing room when you took care of your teammates.” “I’ll be there.”, you promised her before you went to look after your teammates being back into your captain mode.
“Linda, how are you feeling?”, you asked her compassionate. The Columbian forward responded with a weak smile:” I’m okay.” “Good.”, relief ran through your veins because of the answer of the younger footballer.
Comforting hands padded your shoulder who belonged to Ivana: “Not an easy game.” “Right.”, you had to admit. Reassuringly the older woman continued:” But we’ll continue to grow.” “We’ll.”, you agreed. The defender offered:”You can go over if you want to.” “You girls will be, okay?”, you wanted to know from her. With a motherly smile Ivana waved you off:”Promise.”
You met your girlfriend in her locker room, freshly showered, her blonde hair still wet. “Hi Erin.”, you greeted her. Blushing the Scottish player put a hair string behind her ear:“Hi.” “Was that me?”, guiltily you pointed to a black eye on her body. She gave you a challenging look:” Told you, it was unfair play.” “You weren’t playing nice either!”, you reminded her. Pouting  Erin observed:” You don’t look as bad.”
“Well, I got thicker skin.“, you shrugged with a smirk. Your girlfriend quickly bridged the gap between you two and pulled you towards her. Her fingertips on your skin made you giggle; “Hey, no tickles!“
“You’re lucky it’s only tickles.“, Erin countered. Guro interrupted the two of you by throwing her shirt at you; “Behave, we have children in this room!“ You were suddenly painfully aware of the stares of Erins teammates.
Erin grimaced at Guro; “Do you mean Hannah?“ The young goalkeeper looked up in surprise; “Rude!“ “Sorry.“, Erin grinned back, obviously not even a little bit sorry. “I’m not a child!“, Hannah protested. Your girlfriend casually shrugged and pointed into the direction of her other teammates: “Maybe Guro meant Sjoeke or Aggie.“
These two protested loudly while Hannah raised her eyebrow at Erin; “I hope so!“ Ignoring the rest of her team, Erin turned back towards you; “Want to leave?“ “Please.“, you smiled back.
She quickly grabbed her bag and took your hand; “Let’s go.“ “Bye chicas!“, Guro yelled after you. Millie appeared in the door, Sam on crutches next to her; “You’re leaving already?“ “Not without a hug from you of course!“, you said and let yourself fall into the arms of the tall defender.
“Sorry, took a while to get Sam down the stairs.“, Millie apologized. The Australian striker rolled her eyes. You quickly hugged her too, careful with her knee and crutches; “And hello, Sam.“
“You two were not subtle at all after the game ended.“, she commented smugly. Erin and you shared a knowing smile while she explained; “I had to make up for something.“ “Yeah, for the things you said to each other during the match.“, Millie grinned. “Oh shut up, Millie.“
But the defenders smile only got wider; “Never.“ “How would you even know that?“, Erin asked, a slight hint of exasperation in her voice. Millie touched her fingertips to her mouth; “Lip reading.“
Your girlfriend rolled her eyes in response; “Oh, sure.“ “Now go, you two don’t have much time.“, Millie ordered, making space so you two could pass her and Sam. “You kept us here.“, Erin protested.
She took your hand in hers again; “Let’s leave.“ “Coming.“ As you moved past your friend group, your girlfriend yelled “Bye, girls!“ over her shoulder. “Bye, have fun.“, Sam replied with a smirk while Kristie appeared behind her, wrapping her arms around the strikers waist as they watched you leave; “And off they go.“
“About time. After game sex is the hottest.“, the striker laughed, turning to kiss her girlfriend. Kristie nodded; “Agreed. They wouldn’t let each other get away with anything.“ “That’s too much information!“, Millie complained, pretending that she needs to throw up.
“Sorry, not sorry.“, Kristie shrugged. “I hate that you moved here.“, the defender laughed. With big innocent eyes, Kristie suggested; “Maybe she’ll move to London to next season.“ Seeing the feigned disgust on Millies face, she added; “A girl can dream.“ “Of bringing all your girlfriends here?“
“Yes.”, the American midfielder beamed. The England defender wiggled with her eyebrows: “I see.”  “She’s unstoppable.”, Sam winked at her fiancée. Big eyed Millie looked at her close friend: “Will I have to leave?”
“No, you’re the honorary straight best friend in our squad. Let’s get Same home for no.”, Kristie told her in a friendly tone. Happy with that answer the English player clapped into her hands:” Alright. Come on, Sammy.” “On my way!”, the Australian forward announced while one of her best friends and her fiancée helped her to come home safely.
Meanwhile you had stepped out of Erins shower, wearing some comfy clothes, begging your girlfriend:” Erin, repeat that.” “What?”, she echoed. Serious you added:” What you just said.”
“Pretty sure you heard me the first time. ”, the Scottish woman answered. You bit your lip in response:  “Still.” “Well, we can just ignore it if it upsets you so much.”, the midfielder shrugged her shoulders.
Swiftly you shook your head:” No, please, say it again.” “I want you to move in with me.”, Erin repeated. Carefully you said:” English clubs are interested in me you know that, right?” “I do.”, your girlfriend affirmed.
Slowly you revealed what you were holding black from her for quite a while now, waiting for the perfect moment to say it:” I might have an agreement with a club in the summer.” “You do?”, the Scottish player looked surprised up.  “Yes.” “So that’s a, yes?”, a hopeful shimmer appeared on her face.
Teasingly you played with her hair: “It’s a yes. I’d love to move in with you. But I won’t join your club.” “That’s okay. I love playing against you.”, Erin grinned at you. A warm laugh escaped your lips:” I knew you’d say that.” “It’s true.”, she confessed.
The smile on your face grew bigger:” Sorry but I like red more than blue.” “Arsenal!”, playfully shocked your girlfriend hit your upper arm. “Yes, bebé.” Dramatically the midfielder groaned:” Oh that’s just horrible.” “So, you take the moving offer back?”, you threw your eyebrows up.
Much softer she told you:“No, I can live with it if I get to see you more often.” “You definitely would.”, you reassured her. Beaming Erin replied: “Then you should take that offer.”  “I’ll.”
“Can’t wait to win the London derby against you.”, the excitement was written all over her face.  Confidently you countered:” Oh no Arsenal win their fair amounts of derbys do I have to remind you they just won the latest?”
“Doesn’t count. You weren’t on the team yet.“, Erin protested. You shrugged nonchalantly; “Just saying.“ “Next time we’ll win again.“, your girlfriend said, half challenge and half promise.
Smirking, you added; “Or you’ll lose.“ Stubbornly, Erin shook her head; “There’s no way.“ “But for now…“, you changed the topic, pulling your girlfriend close to you. “For now?“, she repeated so that you would continue.
“Enough talking.“ “What should we do then?“, she asked, all pretended innocence. You winked at her while you let your hands glide under her shirt; “Something equally as fun.“

Hi :) your blog is so good , I love these deep dives you’re doing, thanks for answering and sharing all your deep lore knowledge.
I’m so curious about the culture around queerness at Barça and in European women’s soccer in general. It seems like only a few players are loudly out (Mapi’s coming out being a whole thing like 5 years ago), but that a ton of other players have come out in more discreet (and maybe plausibly deniable) ways.
I’d imagine many don’t speak about it publicly bc they don’t want to attract even more hate or “distract”from the cause of women’s football. But to me it feels like the elephant in the room on some level, bc I’m sure at least some of the cultural pushback they face is because so many of them are gay, but no one really talks about it out loud. (That i've seen.)
In my understanding Spain is legally quite supportive of lgbt rights but that culturally, the catholic influence and machismo remnants remain strong. And football culture in general seems super homophobic—like the comments on the fcbarcelona post a couple months ago for a lgbtq+ day of support were vile.
I am so curious about the super-specific subset of player relationships that develop in that weird combination of repression(?) and normalization. It seems like riding the line of discreetness and being obviously super queer could cause tension between players or partners, but they all seem to handle it at least well enough to keep playing together. Like, how do they do that? Are there like, rules of conduct? Do they all just agree to not talk about their partners and how those relationships impact the team? do exes just have to get over it really fast and in silence? like.. I know it’s so classically lesbian to be friends w your ex but also sounds hard to not acknowledge breakups/heartache being part of how a team functions. (Especially when everyone thinks you’re moving on with another teammate @ Lucy & Ona 👀)
Idk, maybe I’m just a water sign lol and maybe these conversations are happening behind the scenes. But it makes me wonder if Barça has like, hired relationship counselors bc this seems like a lot to handle alone.
Just interested if you have any thoughts, I know it’s not really an answerable question. Thanks again in advance!! <3
oh wow, thank you and thank you for your long message. you raise so many interesting points to unpack.
queerness at barça/european football - honestly, i think your questions/comments are not specific to spain/barça but are questions to be raised across the entire world of futfem/woso. because barça is comprised of staff from all over spain, not just barcelona, and has players from all over the world, who are bringing their own cultures, biases, backgrounds into this environment.
i just don't think there are that many players *anywhere* who are the out and proud types like megan rapinoe or even magda/pernille with their hangOUT show. it's more so people living their lives and not making a big deal of it, kinda like sam kerr/kristie mewis, mapi/ingrid engen, and alba redondo and her gf. and it may also be a generational thing too. where younger players like cata coll just casually and nonchalantly mentions she has a gf when asked to show her phone lock screen or jill roord and jana fernandez post vacation tiktoks with each other and family members.
Tumblr media
and at the same time, barça and the spanish national team have a very high percentage of gay players, especially compared to uswnt, canada, etc. so i don't think it's spanish culture that's necessarily dictating things one way or another.
locker room dynamics - again, i don't think this is specific to barça because there are teams with even more intra-squad relationships (cough*arsenal*cough 😂).
at the end of the day, these are professionals and you have to act in a professional manner and set boundaries if players from the same team are dating. and you have to learn to compartmentalize and not let your personal life affect your performance on the pitch. and if it does, then it's important to speak up and take time off or remove yourself from that situation (as we have seen players do from time to time as well). so i highly doubt barça has hired relationship counselors because these players are (mostly) adults and can handles themselves as adults.
if nothing else, barça is made up of some of the most hypercompetitive people ever 😂, and they are not going to let squabbles or exes interfere with the main goal - winning that quadruple!

illness pt. 1
"Y/N, there is obviously something wrong," Jessie insisted, her voice laced with concern.
"Jessie, I told you to leave it alone. I am fine. I am just a bit more tired than usual," Y/N replied, her voice strained with frustration.
"No, Y/N, it's been a few weeks now of this fatigue, and you look like you are losing weight," Jessie continued, worry etched across her face.
Y/N huffed as they walked together toward Sam Kerr's apartment, the brisk evening air doing little to alleviate her discomfort. She decided to remain silent, not wanting to discuss the persistent issues that had been plaguing her.
"Bubba, don't be like that," Jessie said gently, grabbing Y/N's hand and halting her in her tracks. She leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Y/N's forehead.
Y/N closed her eyes briefly, savoring the affection but still reluctant to admit what she had been going through. "Jess, I promise it's nothing serious. Just some stress, maybe."
Jessie's brow furrowed with worry as she studied Y/N's face. "Y/N, you know you can talk to me about anything. I'm here for you."
Y/N gave a weak smile, appreciating Jessie's support but not ready to share the full extent of her concerns. "I know, and I love you for that. But really, it's nothing I can't handle."
When they got to their Chelsea's teammate's apartment they were greeted by Kristie, y/n’s USWNT teammate, who hugged both Jessie and Y/N.
Y/N couldn't help but tease Kristie as they all gathered around the living room. "Couldn't be away from Kerr for longer than a month, huh?" she quipped with a playful grin.
Kristie laughed heartily at Y/N's remark, her playful banter easing the tension in the room. "Very funny, Y/N. But you know how it is. We can't stay away from each other for too long."
Sam, who had been busy in the kitchen, emerged with a tray of steaming mugs of coffee, her signature grin lighting up her face. "Coffee, anyone?" she offered, setting the tray down on the coffee table.
They each accepted a mug, the warmth of the cups a comforting contrast to the cool weather outside. They settled into the cozy surroundings, the sound of friendly chatter filling the room.
For a while, the conversation revolved around lighter topics—football anecdotes, upcoming matches, and their favorite training moments. It was clear that the bonds between these friends ran deep, and they cherished these moments together.
But as the hours wore on, the earlier concern about Y/N's health lingered in the background, an unspoken presence in the room. Finally, it was Kristie who gently broached the topic, her voice filled with genuine concern.
"Y/N," she began, "I've been watching you, and it's not just fatigue. You've been off for a while now. Are you sure you're okay?"
She shifted uncomfortably on the couch, her mug of coffee suddenly feeling heavy in her hands. Y/N's gaze flicked to her friends—Kristie, Jessie, and Sam—all of them wearing expressions of genuine worry. She wanted to reassure them, to put their concerns to rest, but they weren’t wrong because she does feel off.
"I appreciate your concern," Y/N began, her voice wavering slightly, "but really, it's probably just a phase. I've been pushing myself hard, and maybe I'm just a bit burnt out."
Jessie's brow furrowed with worry as she reached out and gently placed her hand on Y/N's arm. "Y/N, we're not trying to make a big deal out of this, but we care about you. You don't have to hide what's going on."
The room fell into a contemplative silence as Y/N's friends, Jessie, Kristie, and Sam, continued to express their concerns about her health. Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of unease and vulnerability, but she was determined to hold onto her denial a little longer.
"I promise I'll take it easy," Y/N reiterated, her voice tinged with desperation. "Maybe I just need some rest, and everything will go back to normal."
Kristie exchanged a knowing glance with the others, her expression one of gentle concern. She knew that Y/N had always been reluctant to seek medical help, and it was time to address that issue.
"Y/N," Kristie began softly, "we understand that you might be hesitant to see a doctor. But we've also noticed that you tend to avoid them at all costs. Is there a reason for that?"
Y/N's shoulders tensed slightly, her gaze flickering away. She knew the truth—they knew her well enough to see through her bravado.
"It's just... nothing good ever seems to come from seeing a doctor," Y/N admitted hesitantly. "I've had bad experiences in the past, and I guess I've been trying to avoid going through that again."
"I understand your past experiences have ingrained in your mind, but sometimes doctors are the only way to get to the root cause to help whatever your body is going through," Sam gently tried to talk some sense into Y/N.
Y/N sighed, her resistance slowly eroding in the face of her friends' genuine concern. "I know, Sam, but I've always felt that nothing good ever comes from doctors. I just... I don't want to go through all that again."
Kristie, her voice filled with empathy, added, "Y/N, we're not pushing you to do anything you're not comfortable with. We just want to make sure you're okay."
Y/N nodded, still reluctant to confront the possibility of a health issue. "I promise I'll think about it, okay? But let's not talk about it anymore tonight."
Her friends exchanged glances, understanding that Y/N needed time to come to terms with the idea of seeking medical help.
