i go to medieval times and the servant (waiter) starts telling me about how actually, the knights do usually kill each other at these kinds of things, but their knights are so perfectly matched that they always come to a stalemate and have to retire to their bedchambers after hours of sparring. then one day they will know they’ve gotten too old for this life when finally one strikes the other down… and then he will drop his sword and wander this cold countryside until he himself perishes, having lost his one true equal in this life. it’s actually pretty intimate and beautiful, these two men who meet on the battlefield to kill each other, knowing that no one else in life truly understands them the way the other knight does, and knowing that they must die together lest the victor spends the rest of his days in bone aching loneliness. and then the servant (waiter) drops a cold chicken leg in my lap and says i guess what i’m trying to say is that all of this is about gay sex.
