(this turned out pretty sambuckyquin i'm ngl)
Joaquín's been getting a bit bold as of late.
He'd known the baby falcon had had a thing for Sam this whole time, of course, had watched him flirt and blush his way through every conversation back when Sam and himself were still firmly just frenemies.
It had been kind of fun to watch then, is still kind of fun to watch now, even though Bucky's less and less sure with each new flirty remark that Joaquín's not actually trying to shoot his shot.
Bucky trusts Sam. He knows they're solid. They've even talked about Joaquín's obvious crush on occasion, though it's pretty obvious to the both of them each time that the conversation's still ongoing.
Bucky's a little tipsy tonight though, halfway to drunk off that heavy Asgardian ale he really never should have touched, and he's teetering over the line of annoyance.
Joaquín's an affectionate drunk, as he and Sam are both learning tonight.
He's got an arm around Sam on the couch they're sitting on, and is leaning over on him, his head on his shoulder. Sam's got that amused look in his eyes he gets when Bucky is being particularly ridiculous or stubborn about something that doesn't actually matter, and something flares a little hot in his stomach at seeing it aimed at someone else.
Whatever Joaquín's saying is being mumbled into Sam's shoulder, so Bucky doesn't actually hear their conversation till he gets up closer.
"...look so amazing when you're flying, Sam," he says, voice filled with awe. "You always look so beautiful up there."
Bucky sees green. "He does, doesn't he?" he says sincerely, hoping Sam can't hear any trace of jealousy in his voice. He sits down on Sam's other side, pressing their legs as close together as he can, and tilts Sam's head towards him. "Every day I wonder how I got so lucky."
He leans in, then, capturing Sam's lips with his own. He makes a bit of a show of it, admittedly, parting his lips and pulling Sam's head in closer. He kisses him for just a little too long to be polite, but not too long it can't be explained away by the last drink he'd downed.
It's not quite long enough to really savor the taste of the whiskey Sam's been nursing on his own tongue, but he figures they've got all night for that later.
He pulls back slowly, relishing in the way it takes Sam just a moment too long to open his eyes after, and places his hand down on Sam's thigh, entirely too high up not to be deliberate.
When Sam turns back to Joaquín, just on the side of dazed, Bucky turns towards him too, smug and satisfied.
He finds the baby bird staring back at him already, his eyes wide and his lips parted as he looks between them both, breath a little heavier as his gaze catches on Sam's chest, on Bucky's arms, on the edge of a hickey poking out from under the collar of Bucky's shirt.
Bucky moves his hand up even higher on Sam's thigh.
They might just have to revisit that Joaquín conversation again, he thinks.

Summary: Joaquín Torres is living the (wet) dream when he moves next door to two famous pornstars and never imagines the day they'll invite him over.
Excerpt:
It's happening again.
It always starts with the low creaking, the soft thumping. Joaquín knows every sound so well at this point, the bed frame doesn't even need to hit the wall in the apartment next door. Joaquín can imagine it himself.
The tempo always starts easy and then it increases bit by bit and that's when the moaning start, the cursing, the hisses. Just thinking about what's to come makes Joaquín's skin burn hot all over. This happens every single night, multiple times a night.
A long moan sounds through the wall behind him. This is only the start, Joaquín braces himself as he unintentionally bites down on his lip and palms the front of his shorts.
His friends don't believe him. Honestly, the day Joaquín moved into this apartment and found out his next-door neighbors were the famous Sammy Wilson and Bucky Barnes, two of the hottest pornstars in the industry who also happen to be endearingly dating and living together in real life, he could barely digest it was real either.
He ran into them the first day he was moving in. Being young and basically broke, Joaquín was mainly moving himself. Lugging boxes after boxes of all his stuff left him a sweaty mess when he suddenly turned around to find the two well-known men standing in the hall.
Joaquín instantly recognized them and christ, they're even more attractive in person, Joaquín remembers thinking.
"Hey," Sammy Wilson breathed with a kind smile.
His partner, Bucky Barnes, was standing next to him and his eyes raked down Joaquin's embarrassing outfit of old high school track shorts, high socks, worn down sneakers and a baggy, plain t-shirt that was drenched in sweat.
Joaquín tried to will his face into anything other than an expression that screamed: I know who you are, holy fuck, I've jerked off to you guys so many times! Why are you standing in the hallway of my new apartment complex?
"Um, hi," Joaquín choked out, recalling a very not cool squeak that accompanied the lame greeting.

You guys! SamBucky AU where Sam is the original Captain America. So instead of Steve proving himself by jumping on a grenade you have Sam: kind, intelligent, strong, driven. Easy choice. Sam and Bucky meet in the army they annoy each other at first but begin to get along. Maybe they bond over having a younger sister. Sam is chosen for the program but instead of getting super strength he gets wings. And maybe some other bird themed super powers like good eyesight or something idk what birds do. It takes him a while to get good with his wings maybe they are weak at first or it takes time for all the feathers to grow in and Sam and Bucky practice together in the evenings. One day Sam takes a dive and gets hurt. Que protective Bucky, hurt/comfort, homoerotic bandaging of injuries, all the good stuff. Eventually Sam gets good at flying and does shows like Steve did. Theres some angst cause Sam feels like hes being treated as a freak show. Sam and Bucky make out a few times or start sleeping together or whatever. Then Bucky gets caught like in canon and Sam looses his mind he absolutely needs to find Bucky cause hes kind of falling in love with him and Bucky doesn't even know. So Sam finds Bucky and the crash into each other and its sweet and angsty and everything! Then theres the fight on the train and things go a little differently because Sam can fly. So i imagine Sam fighting and seeing Bucky fall and hes about to fly after hiym but he gets knocked out before he can so the last thing he sees is the love of his life falling to his death. Sam makes it out of the fight somehow. when he wakes up the first thing he does is try to find Bucky even though he probably has a concussion. So he flies back to where he thinks Bucky fell and he looks for ages and he doesn't find him. Sam is heartbroken and he blames himself. Bucky becomes the winter soldier same as in canon. The serum they give Bucky is the same stuff he gets in canon maybe it was inspired by Sam's super serum instead of a direct copy idk.
So Sam gets frozen and he wakes up in the 21st century and he keeps working for the military or whatever Steve did idk i dont really remember that movie. In this AU Steve lives in the 2020s instead of the 1940s. He and Sam meet where Sam did his counseling they are both there for help with PTSD. Steve wouldnt have had the serum but maybe modern medicine worked well enough for him to enlist idk. Anyway they become besties instead of Steve asking Sam about Riley he asks him about Bucky. Sam wears a lot of loose fitting clothes to cover his wings when he's not on super hero duty.
Ok so now for the fight with the winter soldier! Sam is so relieved to see Bucky: his best friend, the love of his life, the last familiar face in the world. Bucky obviously remembers none of this their fight is super intense and angsty. Instead of ripping Sam's wing off he breaks it so Sam can't fly until it heals. Sam is super confused and sad and hopeful that he can save Bucky. Sam failed Bucky once he wouldnt do it again. Sam tracks Bucky all around the world like in canon. He doesn't give a shit that hes supposed to be Captain America he has a duty to his best friend. He doesn't spend to much time trying to jog Bucky's memory. He does his best to meet Bucky where he is and get to know the person he's become. Sam does his best to answer Bucky's questions as his memories come back. He decides not to tell him they were in love quite yet. Maybe Bucky and Sam fall in love all over again maybe Bucky remembers that they were in love already. If you really want slow burn Bucky remembers but the both decide not to pursue any kind of relationship until Bucky feels more comfortable/has his mind back fully. Then everything with Thanos happens Sam and Bucky fade away together and reappear 5 years later they are both really sick of losing time. Sam never gives up the shield so they go into all the flag smasher stuff as a solid team. Joaquin Torres sees Sam's wings and decides to make wings of his own using his sick engineering skills. Joaquin becomes the first Falcon. Sam and Bucky live in a little house in Louisiana. Sam's family isn't there anymore but it still feels like home. Steve is good with computers so he gets to by the guy in the chair Joaquin, Sam, and Bucky are the Captain America team. They kick ass. Personally im a fan of Sambuckytorres so yeah Sam and Bucky get married and Joaquin is their boyfriend and they all live together in a cute little house with Alpine the cat.

Joaquín's feeling good about himself.
He's a pretty established superhero now, flying with the wings honestly easier than walking most days. Kids come up to him and ask him for autographs, and he's got magazines calling him for photoshoots and interviews on the regular.
Perhaps most importantly, though, he's been officially away from the USAF for long enough that his hair's grown back out.
He'd been keeping it cut short despite the lack of regulation for a while, just letting it grow out in increments, instructing his hair stylist to "go just a bit longer" each time he gets a fresh cut. It’s never enough to really be noticeable, other than when Sam occasionally affectionately ruffles Joaquín's hair after training sessions or missions.
That all changes after a particularly rough mission, though, when Joaquín takes a pretty hard fall and ends up on superhero-doctor-ordered bed rest for four months following an admittedly pretty nasty leg injury. After he's well enough to get on a plane, he decides to head home, figuring he owes his mom a visit in Arizona after his crazy and sudden change in lifestyle.
His mom fusses all about him as soon as he gets home in the way that moms always tend to do, but she especially fixates on how much she misses the beautiful curls he'd had before he'd joined up. It’s enough to convince him to really let his hair grow, to stop cutting it for a while until it's a length more akin to what he'd worn as a teen.
Sam sees him through all the stages of his hair journey despite the distance, the two of them facetiming back and forth at least every other day while Joaquín's away. He comments often on how he can't wait to run his fingers through Joaquín's pretty curls, heatedly confesses to wanting to tug his hair hard when he's calling specifically to rile him up on the days his mom is out of the house.
Joaquín's never cutting his hair again, he decides.

This was an obvious one, I think anyone who knows me saw this coming. It's just brought me so much... reprieve. relief. cathartic release. It's a combination of two of my loves - fandom and hockey. I never imagined the overlap between those two fandoms would be very big, but it has brought me SO many incredible friends. People that I talk to regularly, people who make me smile with a single comment, people who have supported and encouraged me to keep going when I was afraid to. I just don't have enough words to describe how much those relationships mean to me, seriously. @alavenderleaf @hannahshattuck @rohruh @fsbc-librarian I love you with all my heart.
i'm the furthest thing from heaven, but the closest to home
This was a fic I recently wrote, which started as a 2-3K one shot for @circaclementine, and then suddenly it took over. I wrote this for an All Caps Bingo challenge and was really determined to do it (all Clem's fault), which drove this to nearly 20K (which is really long for ME, okay!). It combined a lot of (A) what I love (wingfic, angels), (B) what I wanted to explore more of (Steve waking up without Buck and (C) challenging myself to find canon-adjacent moments that I could re-write and bring into my story. I took a lot of lines and moments straight from the MCU, which I hoped that made the fic even more "real" for some people and I have to thank Clem for this delightful challenge and all the subsequent support that I needed, lol. Still, I loved every moment.
it's not love
I really loved writing this one because it was one of the first parts of my "Seb Stan Series" ideas. It's a rare pair (1940s Bucky/Lee Bodecker) but in writing this, I felt a bit of a challenge in writing someone that wasn't just Bucky. I explored a lot more about my writing, and honestly I was actually really proud of this one after Maya helped me fall in love with it all over again. It's sweet, sad, and that basically sums me up as a writer.

How could this not be on my list! It was a fic that I basically wrote with my best pals @cable-knit-sweater @mxaether. It was an honour to write with Maya, and I am continuously blown away by what we accomplished. 36K words?! Are you freaking kidding me! And of course, not only was Kam's art fucking mindblowing but the endless support for all of our collective shouting was very much needed. I just can't even tell you how much love is in this fic and how much love came out of it. I'm so proud of us, truly. Love you both so much.

It started with SamBuckyTorres (spread your wings) but I wanted to delve more into Bucky/Torres. I thought "oh! It'd be so fun to do an age difference fic" with Daddy Bucky (I'd never written daddy kink before this fic) and I think I just enjoyed unleashing Bucky on Torres. It made writing Dom Bucky easier for me in my later fics, which is really obvious to me looking back now! Thank you Baby Bird/Slut. Sorry Hannah for dragging you down with me. 😘

This is the fic that got me started in the Bucky/Reader fandom. I was just writing a simple one-shot and the comments/feedback I got were so amazing that I just kept going?! And going, and going, and going. It turned into a 23 chapter monster purely based on the feedback I got and the conversations I was having. What r ur fav Sam ships? mine are sambucky, samsteve, samstucky (tho i really dislike stucky) samsharon, sambuckynatsharon, sambuckytorres, samquin, samthor, t’cham, samnatasha, and samthor. I like t’samdey. My fav ones which I DONT ship romantically (canon or fanon friendships) are samrhodey, sammonica, samcarol, samsarah, sam and his entire community, samnakia (unless it’s a sam/t’challa/Rhodey/nakia quartet), sampeter, and samdaisy. The last ones are very non-shippy (some I’m fine w)
