When we wrote this Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5g Sm-G998u 128gb World Smartphone - Fully Unlocked review, it was the company's new ‘everything phone’ with more cameras, beefier specs, and even S Pen compatibility to eclipse the very likable Note 20 Ultra. If you're dismayed about rumors of the end of Note series, just try the S21 Ultra. Having been replaced by the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in 2022, it's no longer the company's benchmark for a true premium smartphone, but it's still a worthy purchase.

This is Samsung’s vision of smartphone excess for 2021: five cameras led by a 108MP sensor, two telephoto cameras, 100x zoom and 40MP selfies, plus 5G, all-day battery life and up to 16GB of RAM – all packed into an Android phone with a 6.8-inch 120Hz Quad HD display and an upgraded in-screen fingerprint sensor that has a 1.7x larger surface area than the one on last year’s phone.

It was one of the first new smartphones we tested in 2021, along with the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, and it set the bar high – much higher than last year’s problematic ‘Ultra’ phone. Samsung has retooled its main camera with lasers – yes, lasers – to remedy the autofocus issues on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, and also upgraded the specs to keep up with the demands of processing those large 108MP photos, 40MP selfies, and 8K video without as much as a hiccup.

Photos look sharp, dynamic range is impressive and Samsung's ‘tripod lock’ software feature steadies the 30x and 100x zoom levels on subjects to prevent the viewfinder image from jumping around. It’s much easier to pull off the 100x 'Space Zoom' now, although punching in 100x is limited to being a neat party trick due to grainy images, while 30x is passable in the right light.

It’s the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5g Sm-G998u 128gb World Smartphone - Fully Unlocked 10x and 3x optical zoom levels that nailed the photos we wanted every time – more than any other smartphone telephoto camera. Our side-by-side comparisons with the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which tops out at a 2.5x optical zoom, bore that out. Apple’s main camera captures cleaner photos in some low-light situations, but Samsung’s night mode has improved enough to almost close that gap after sunset or when you’re snapping away indoors – and its default camera app is more feature-packed and easier to use than Apple’s.

Attention Twitter Users! Please Report This Scammer!

I need your help on taking this guy down...My dumb brain and gullible ass thought it was a good idea to attempt to buy a PS5 from this guy, and I’ve lost thousands of dollars from him. I’m not the only victim, either, ‘cause I’ve heard of other people losing their money from him.

Take this person for example who also lost their money to him on Cash App (Yes, the scammer was following me on Twitter but I blocked him some time after taking all of these screenshots):

This is how it started:

This scammer has multiple Gmail accounts on his Paypal (Hopefully these screenshots I’ve taken can be clicked on and read all right):

He sends phishing links or texts that seem like something legit (1 of 3 things that got most of my money taken from him. Unfortunately I don’t have an image of the text ‘cause I accidentally deleted it upon impulse while cleaning my texts out of my phone, so I can’t retrieve it. The text was from Paypal about someone being logged in to my account at a specific time and time zone. My time zone is EST {Eastern Standard Time} and if I remember correctly, the text I got said PST {Pacific Standard Time}). But it was not long after I blocked him that I received a Facebook email about someone logging into my account on a SamSungS21 phone (Mine’s a SamSung A8).

I fell for that, too, by hitting the “report user” button, which then caused my antivirus to go off and show this (then I began receiving spam emails for a couple of nights which eventually stopped after reporting a whole bunch as phishing, and sending them into my junk/spam mail):

He’ll lie and make excuses about your payments towards him being declined and refunded, why he needs more money, and he’ll keep extending the delivery date with one of the excuses of putting it “on hold” for not receiving his payments on time (2nd thing that got my money taken from him. And in the one image where it says “look back at conversation #9, ignore that. There is a conversation I shared in one of these screenshots about using a Global Transaction method from my bank to pay him).

And he’ll also ask for your ID (which was the last huge mistake I made that enabled him to hack into my bank account because I thought that all US vendors would ask for ID for identification purposes to sell stuff...).

What I have done to secure myself for now:

1. I’ve learned my lesson. 2. I’ve changed my bank cards, drivers license back number, and passwords (also added the 2-step verification features to log in). 3. I’ve added a VPN and other security add-ons/extensions into my internet browser. 4. I’ve made multiple fraud claims to my bank and trying to keep in touch with them as soon as possible whenever they call me. And yes, they’re looking into this matter. 5. I contacted the police and managed to email and explain to an officer about what happened while also providing these screenshots I’ve taken (including my bank info of how much money was taken). 6. I’m spreading awareness about him now to the public, starting here (don’t think I wanna share on Twitter just yet). 7. I contacted his bank only to not get response (found out which one it was from the receipt left behind when he stole my money):

8. A Twitter friend made a group chat of us involving a former FBI agent, only they left the conversation and was never able to receive a response. 9. I’ve reported him on Twitter after blocking him, only to receive this:
