A Special Birthday Surprise

A birthday fic that I made due to the fact that it's my birthday! I hope you all enjoy this!

"Eis, set those chairs right over here, please," Lance said, looking at the firefighter while holding a recipe book. He pointed to a vacant table. "They are on the heavy side, so make sure to handle them with ease."

"On it, Lance," Eis replied as he and Jose started to lift the chairs up, one by one, and bring them to the table that Lance pointed at.

"What do you think of these decorations, Balan?" NiGHTS asked. They were helping Fiona and Haoyu hang up balloons and other pretty birthday decorations the colors of royal blue, light yellow, white, and apple red. "Think Aria would love them?"

"Why, my dear cousin, I'm sure as sure can get," Balan replied with a grin. "Aria would no doubt be thrilled to see the final results, if you want my bet."

"I agree with Balan," Iben added with a nod. "After all, they are all in Aria's signature colors." She continued to place the decorations on each table.

Everyone in the Balan Theatre had been extremely busy for almost a week. The reason for this made so much sense; Aria's birthday was coming up. Of course, they had to keep what they were doing under wraps whenever their friend was around.

"Say, has Lance decided on what kind of cake that he'll make Aria?" NiGHTS asked.

"He wishes for it to be a surprise," Balan stated. "But trust me when I say that you will love it when you see the cake with your own eyes."

The doors barged open to reveal Kaylo holding a LARGE pile of presents. "I hope I wasn't too late," Kaylo said.

"Where were you, Kaylo?" Rebecca asked, looking up from the refreshment table that she was busy decorating.

"My family and I went gift shopping for Aria," Kaylo explained. "Then, I spent all morning helping them wraps the presents up. So sorry for the long wait. Where can I set them?"

"I finished setting up the gift table," Bruce responded. "You can set them over there." He pointed to the gift table that was currently vacant aside from the decorations.

"Thanks, Bruce." Kaylo made her way to the table and carefully placed the presents down.

"Wow, that's a lot of presents," Yuri said. "I still have mine at home. I was told that Aria's favorite insect is the Monarch Butterfly."

"One of them is from me," Kaylo said. "I got her a pretty spring outfit. The rest are from my family."

(Meanwhile, in the Night Dimension)

Reala sat on the throne of his domain, humming in deep thought. Since the beginning of the week, that was what he had been doing aside from his duties as a Nightmaren General. This was because he was well aware that Aria's birthday was coming up…

…But there was one problem…

…He was the only one who had no idea as to what to give Aria for her birthday.

Reala needed to think fast as to what to give her. Fortunately, in the time that he dated her, he got to know her a lot better just like she got to know him. So it was easy for him to remember her personal likes and dislikes.

Aria obviously loved cats. Royal Blue was her favorite color. She also liked wearing jewelry as evident on the day that he first met her. She had been wearing her wedding ring that was placed onto her left ring finger by the man that she was once married to.

To know that he was able to fill the gap in her heart that Aria's late husband left brought Reala genuine happiness. To the point where there had been times that he would wonder how things would if he married her.

While he and Aria had talked about marriage at one point, Reala was well aware that she was still a bit iffy about remarrying. This was due to her fear that the same thing that happened to her late husband would also happen to Reala. That he would leave her only for disaster to strike, making him unable to return to her.

That was when it hit Reala…

…He knew exactly as to what to give Aria for her birthday…

…He was going to pop the question to Aria. After all, the two had been dating each other for quite some time.

He had an idea as to what Aria's present from him would look like. It would no doubt represent the love that they had for each other.

With a determined smile, Reala flew into a deeper part of his domain and got to work on Aria's special present from him.

(Three Days Later…)

"SURPRISE!!" Everyone yelled in joy when Aria turned on the lights to the room that the party would take place.

Aria gasped in awe and delight as she looked around. "Oh my goodness!" She exclaimed. "I can't believe you did all of this of me!"

"Well, of course, darling!" Lucy replied with the same amount of joy that Aria had. "You've been such an amazing friend to us! When your birthday came, we just had to celebrate it!" Her eyes landed on a silver charm bracelet that was on Aria's right wrist. "Your bracelet is adorable! Where did you get it?"

Aria smiled as she looked down at the charm bracelet. It had seven charms on it; one was Aria's initial, one was Scotland's flag, one was a princess crown, one was a butterfly, one was a star, one was a heart, and one was a dove. "My mother gave me the bracelet this morning," She replied.

"Well, it looks really lovely on you," Cal commented. "Now, let's go celebrate your birthday." He motioned for Aria to join in on the fun.

"Shall we watch Aria open presents or should we all sing to her a Happy Birthday?" Trisha Jane asked. Before Aria could answer, Leo and Emma came rushing by, fear on their faces.

"Guys!" Emma cried out. "Reala is here in the theatre! He's looking for Aria!"

"What could he possibly want with Aria this time?" Sana asked, suddenly getting protective along with Eis.

"Hard to say, but I only know that he likes her a lot," NiGHTS said, becoming protective. "Either way, if he tries anything funny to Aria, I'll be sure to step in!"

As if on cue, Reala suddenly appeared inside the room where the party was at. Kaylo, Mei, Marina, Rebecca, and Trisha Jane all backed away. Leo quickly shielded Emma while Jose and Attilio shielded Yuri and Cass.

"Reala, why are you here?" NiGHTS demanded, getting into a fighting stance.

Reala smirked at NiGHTS's annoyance. "Isn't it obvious, my dear sibling?" He replied in an amused tone. "I came here to see my girlfriend, Aria. I also happen to have a present for her."

"Reala, this better not be a trick or a sick joke," Lance said, glaring at his cousin. "Because if it's either, you will be one sorry bloke."

"I can assure that it's neither," Reala said, frowning at Lance.

Aria looked at NiGHTS and the two maestros. "Don't worry, you three," She assured. "Reala would never hurt me." She approached her Nightmaren lover.

"Ah, Aria," Reala spoke, a light smile on his face. "I have made you a very special present. I do sincerely hope you love it." He then cleared his throat. "Now, we have been together for a quite a while, haven't we?"

"We have." Aria nodded in response with a smile.

"Since the day we met, I found myself thinking about you a lot," Reala explained. "I'd never felt this way toward anyone before. Not even toward a Visitor. You're the only Visitor that I know would never betray my trust. What I am trying to say is that you are MY brightest star in my universe. And I never realized how cold my life really was until I met you. Which is why I wish to ask you something that I should have asked you on the day that I confessed my love for you…"

He then revealed what he was hiding behind his back; a small ring box. Everyone, including Aria, gasped in awe as Reala got down on one knee and opened the box to reveal an engagement ring with a black gold band and two heart-shaped stones; one with a red diamond and one with a blue diamond.

"Aria Montgomery, will you marry me?" Reala asked.

Aria was silent for a minute. Then, happy tears swelled up in her eyes as she nodded. "Yes, I will marry you!!"

Everyone clapped at Aria's response as Reala placed the ring on her left ring finger. The two engaged lovers shared a passionate kiss together.

"Guess we'll have to start planning for Aria's wedding soon, huh?" Haoyu asked Fiona with a smile. All Fiona could do was nod with a smile.

When Young teens Leo and Emma find themselves at a mysterious theater, along with 12 other people, they are told by the enigmatic Maestro Balan, that in order to leave this place called Wonderworld, they must find and repair their hearts. Unfortunately, it will not be easy, as there is a negative Maestro named Lance trying to stop them.

One of Sana's places of Zen/peace is a small stream in a field that has hundreds of small dark fish. They're garra rufa fish (which eat dead skin).

It's relaxing but it also tickles. Like. A LOT.

Haha that is cute! ^^

Sana is a nature girl and big-time animal lover, obviously, so it's easy to imagine her in situations where her critter friends tickle her.

I've been meaning to write more Balan drabbles forever...more than one person requested it a long time ago...but I just haven't had any ideas. Gotta fix that!

Outside, a dark-skinned woman named Sana was walking down the road, hugging herself as a chilly breeze cut through her jacket. She sighed sadly as she glanced up at some birds that were flying nearby, turning away with small tears coming to her eyes as she recalled her recent failure.

She had come to visit her cousin at the Christmas Rose Apartments to get her mind off things. Still, the sting of not succeeding in building her bird sanctuary weighed heavily on her mind.

“I think it's starting to come together,” she heard a voice say, and she turned to see a young woman with pale blue hair and a woman with magenta hair nearby.

“Yes,” said the woman with magenta hair. “The rooms are starting to look brighter with the dusting out of the way. I think even Balan is beginning to feel hopeful again.”

“I agree. He deserves to feel hope.”

The two women then walked towards the alley and into a building Sana could see required repairs. Curious about what they were doing there, she followed them, wondering what the story was behind the theater. She had never heard of it before, or the owner, since she was from a neighboring town.

She entered the theater, going down the hallway until she heard voices in a room nearby. She soon found the room that everyone was in. Curious, she paused, wondering what they were doing.

Cass was the first to notice the newcomer. “Hey, who are you?” She asked curiously.

Everyone turned to see what Cass saw, and upon seeing a stranger they hadn't seen before, they grew a bit defensive. Sana blinked, and her gaze settled on Balan. She blinked again in startlement at seeing the tall man with green hair, pale-white skin, and a raggy appearance.

Seeing the newcomer staring at him, Balan shied away, stepping back while Iben and Cal stood in front of him protectively.

Yuri suddenly gasped. “Wait, I know you!” She exclaimed. “Sana, right? You're the lady who tried to get a bird sanctuary built. I remember seeing your flyers being sent out to everyone to see if anyone wanted to help. I donated to your cause to help out.”

Sana winced a little, biting her lip, but she noticed the kid didn't seem mad. “You probably know then,” she lamented softly.

Yuri nodded, looking sad. “I'm sorry it didn't work out,” she said, feeling bad for the lady who loved birds.

“What happened?” Emma asked.

Sana sighed hard. “An apartment building is being built where I wanted my sanctuary, so someone got the land before I did,” she explained.

Balan couldn't bear to see the young woman upset and came forward, hugging her, which surprised her, but she returned the hug. “I'm so sorry,” he said softly. “I understand what it's like to have plans fall through.” He gestured around. “This theater, my home, is proof of my plans falling through.”

Sana looked around, and despite the disrepair the theater was in, though it was looking brighter with the dust now gone, she could imagine how beautiful it must have been. “ I wish I could have seen it in its heyday,” she said wistfully. “It must have been glorious.”

The tall man was touched and happy that someone else was not judging his theater so harshly. He knew they still had a bit to go, but it was looking much better, making him more hopeful.

Emma smiled. “Sana?” She asked, making the lady look at her. “Would you be willing to contribute to bringing the theater back to life? You could help us by spreading the word.”

Sana gently shook her head. “I'm afraid I won't be of any help,” she admitted. “I couldn't even spread the word about my sanctuary.”

“You shouldn't give up,” Leo said. “Just because you failed today doesn't mean you will never succeed. You've got to try again.”

“He's right," Cal said with a nod. "Those are some wise words.”

Bruce smiled. “That's my boy,” he said, proud of Leo.

Leo looked at Sana. “Sana, will you help us, please?” He asked.

“What if we help you too?” Haoyu suggested.

Yuri grinned, catching on to Haoyu's idea. “If you help us get the theater back up and running, we'll help you spread the word about your sanctuary,” she proclaimed.

Sana was about to decline again when she saw the kids looking at her with pleading eyes. Even the Tims had gathered at her feet, nuzzling her ankles and chirping, looking up at her with bright eyes.

“Look, even the Tims want you to help,” Emma smiled.

“Tims?” The woman wondered before smiling. “They are pretty cute.”

Seeing the Tims looking up at her with pleading eyes and the kids doing the same, she smiled, making her decision. “Okay,” she said with a nod. “What needs to be done?”

“You're in?” Lucy asked, smiling.

“I'm in,” Sana said.

The kids cheered, and Balan smiled, taking Sana's hand. “Our dreams may not have gotten the start we wanted them to have, but Leo's right. We can't give up. And I'm sure we'll see our dreams be fulfilled.”

She smiled, appreciating him sympathizing with her. It made her feel good, and she decided she would do what she could to help, the positivity of the others rubbing off on her.

So here's the context

We meet a new girl named Sana. She's from a neighboring town away from the Balan theater. She dropped by to have a pity party with her cousin because she didn't get her ideal place in time for her bird sanctuary.

Just as she was arriving, she noticed the old broken-down theater in the alley next to the apartments. Curious, she decided to see what it was all about.

Since Sana lived out of town, she hadn't heard of the rumors of Balan being nuts, much less staying away from the theater.

Balan can relate to her, seeing as they both had a falling out after their plans went flat. The others plan to help Sana too once the theater is back together. And she couldn't be any happier to help.

This is my Lonesome Maestro AU. When Balan's first show was a disaster, and everyone left him. He's become very lonely and sad due to no one being around. Until Leo and Emma showed up and try to change his life for the better.

Finally, I'm doing my favorite Chapter! Since it is winter-themed, almost all of the characters will be wearing winter outfits! Though, Iben will receive an interesting outfit choice since this is her Chapter. I hope you all like these!

Leo Craig

A dark blue winter hat with a white pom-pom on top, a dark blue scarf, a white coat with black accents over a red turtleneck sweater, dark blue mittens, black pants, and tall red boots.

Emma Cole

A pair of pink earmuffs, a red coat dress with six black buttons and white fur trimming on the hood, cuffs, and rim, a pink fringed scarf, matching pink mittens, black leggings, and tall green boots.

Jose Gallard

A red coat with white fur trimming on the hood, a black long-sleeved shirt, dark blue pants, and black shoes.

Fiona Demetria

A white turtleneck sweater underneath a navy blue sleeveless vest, denim blue jeans, and brown boots with white fur trimming around the cuffs. She wears a navy blue hair tie.

Yuri Brand

A red winter hat, an indigo coat, magenta mittens, olive green pants, and purple boots with a pair of white pom poms on each one.

Haoyu Chang

A grey winter hat and matching scarf, an orange coat over a green shirt, brown pants, and white shoes.

Sana Hudson

A brown coat with white fur trimming on the hood and cuffs, a dark green shirt, dark blue denim jeans, and cream colored boots.

Cass Milligan

A fuschia coat over a white shirt, black mittens, black pants, fuschia socks, and black ankle boots. She wears her hair up in a ponytail with a fuschia ribbon.

Cal Suresh

A grey winter hat, a black trenchcoat over a yellow shirt, a white scarf, dark grey pants, and black boots.

Iben Bia

A sleeveless, hooded denim blue vest with white fur trimming on the hood, a black shirt with a purple lining on the collar and lavender long-sleeves, red shorts with two gold buttons, black knee-high socks with light blue lining, and purple high-top shoes with white shoelaces.

Attilio Caccini

A dark magenta coat over a yellow turtleneck sweater, grey pants, and brown boots.

Lucy Wong

A long, black trenchcoat over an emerald green turtleneck sweater, a light green scarf, a black belt with a silver buckle, a long grey skirt with four black buttons, and emerald green boots with white fur trimming and white pom poms.

Eis Glover

A brown coat that reaches down to his knees over a red turtleneck sweater, dark grey pants, and tall black boots.

Bruce Stone

A cream-colored turtleneck sweater, mauve pants, and black shoes. He no longer sports his standard hat.

Act 3 Outfit (Specifically for Iben)

A short, form-fitting purple evening dress with a sweetheart neckline, gold cluster earrings with turquoise gems, a gold oval-shaped locket with a heart-shaped turquoise gem, and lavender stilettos. She wears her hair in a ponytail with a lavender hair tie.
