"I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it."

Are you starting to think about your next summer road trip as the warm weather rolls in? You're not alone - school is almost done for the year and people are ready to hit the highway. Our Orlando Toyota dealership is here with a list of the best East Coast beaches to check out this summer on your next road trip - start packing!
Beach #1: Destin
Tumblr media
Destin is in the panhandle of Florida and offers you white sugar sand, clear blue-green water, and a party atmosphere during spring break. But it has a lot more to offer than that - you'll also find great fishing, a sandbar to relax on, and more. Don't forget your fishing pole on this road trip!
Beach #2: Naples
Tumblr media
Naples is another Florida beach that's located in South Florida. It overlooks the warm, calm Gulf of Mexico. On top of the beautiful beaches, there's high-end dining, boutique hotels, shopping, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and more to consider. Don't miss the sunsets over the Gulf.
Beach #3: The Golden Isles
Tumblr media
The Golden Isles are composed of four different barrier islands - Jekyll, St. Simon's, Little St. Simon's, and Sea. Jekyll Island features the iconic Driftwood Beach where enormous driftwood pieces have washed up on the beach and make an Instagram-worthy spot for photos. These beaches are also renowned for long, empty stretches perfect for walking, running, and biking, so add them to your road trip list.
Beach #4: Sanibel Island
Tumblr media
Sanibel Island is another Florida beach that's a quiet, family-friendly spot to unwind. It's famous for shelling, and also has nature trails, hiking, swimming spots, and picnic spots.

Behold the blessings of Poseidon 💙
This is all from ONE shelling venture! I’ve never found this many amazing shells at once. After a storm is the best time to go shelling — I should really be thanking Zeus and Poseidon. Also, one of the most stunning skies I’ve ever seen! Orange-lit clouds on one end, rainbow descending into the sea on the other.

Another Ride at Sanibel Island
Kim and I were on our E-Bikes and Don and Barb were on their E-Scooters. I was surprised that they ride them every bit as fast as we ride our bikes.

But it wasn't all fun and games. Don went off the pavement and his Scooter stoped instantly. You can see the track where his front wheel stopped in the sand.
Don However, Did not stop as fast as the scooter. He kept going a ways. Several cars stop and one person in a White Truck, was very concerned that Don was hurt really bad. Don kept telling him he was ok, but he hung around for quite a while.

Tumblr media
He bent his fingers way back.
(The way they are not suppose to bend.)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I don't think he really started hurting for several hours.
After the accident we still went to this restaurant in Sanibel Island.
Remember the old skit on Saturday Night Live...
Tumblr media
Nice building but none of us would probably go back.
Its took over 45 Minutes to get food and it wasn't that busy. And they pride themselves on their Milk Shakes. It was not that good. You know the kind of Milk Shake, when its not really cold? It makes you think it will never melt. Like it was made with Miracle Whip instead of Ice Cream.

But it got worse.
On the way home we had a car come up beside us and honked at us. It turns out that my bike had fallen off the Bike Rack !!!!!
Tumblr media
It was an absolute miracle that the wheel were still attached to the bike-rack, but it had fallen backward, and "only" was being drug on the pavement behind the car by the handle bar.
I hope you can see that it filed down the handlebar, but it could have done so, so, so, much more. The handle bar was Red Hot, (Which I didn't know until I grabbed it,) It has melted the grip. It started smoking a lot.
No other scratches.
Tumblr media
I ended up sawing the melted part off.
Tumblr media
I ordered some new parts on Amazon.
Tumblr media
I got it all back together in a couple days when the parts came in, and its actually better than new, because I got slightly Higher Rise on the new handlebars, which means they are about an inch higher on the ends.
I am thinking about getting both Kim and Me, new handlebars with a 90 mm or 100 mm rise. (She has 40, and I have 60.) Its much more comfortable not have to bend over to hold the handlebars.

Sanibel at Sunrise
Today's Visit to The Other Pages Archives: Before Sunrise
Sanibel Island, Florida, October 2006, from https://images.theotherpages.org with some post enhancements for clarity.
"Sanibel Island on the South-West cost of Florida is famed for its shells and beaches. I always enjoy sunrise there (sunset can be rather buggy). Here a sandbar provides a stage for a lone figure (Cathy), caught between the deep blues of the sky and its reflection in the tidal strip. The blue streaks in the first glow of sunrise are shadows of cloud-tops below the horizon. --Steve"
