What I like about ALTA and LOK arethe Fighting styles, in the former, we see more Traditional Chinese Martial Arts, the Constant Blocking and dodging and the Punches are Vertical Facing and in the Latter, we see Horizontal Facing Punches and swift Footwork to engage and Disengage like more "Modern" fighting styles.
I see alot of People saying Legend of Korra's fighting is terrible or Boring. What you all need to understand is that in LOK, it depicts what Martial Arts is like in our World Today, the Destruction and Preservation of Old and Historic Arts, the Evolution of Combat and the New Generation favouring more easier to Understand and more easily utilise styles.
It also has to do with the environment. In ALTA, the Spaces are Wider, be it Urban or Rural, this allows a far bigger range of Movements and Motions, in LOK, places are smaller and more compact, it's better to square up and keep your fists close to your Head because if you leave it open that's a guarantee Hit.
Different Situations, Different Environments, Different Wars cause a Combat Art to change and Evolve.
Traditional Chinese Martial Arts turned into Sanshou and Jeet Kune Do.
Muay Boran turned into Muay Thai.
Traditional Vietnamese martial arts turned into Vovinam
Japanese Martial Arts gave birth the whole concept of Gendai budō.
All because change happens, nothing can stay the same for so long

Do you work out purely for stress relief? Or is there another reason?
I guess it’s combination of both. I’ve been consistently working out since I was about 16. But when I turned 21 maybe 22 I’ve been really focusing on specific types of work outs. I’ve been through a Tai Chi phase, I’ve practiced Sanshou and Krav Maga. Boxing was really fun so I’m currently studying kick boxing and I’ve really upped my cardio routine because I noticed my stamina needed improvement and my legs were probably the weakest part of my body.
I don’t really consider it a stress reliever but it’s a great way to take my anger out on things. It gives me something to take my mind off of things and I feel like I am most myself when I’m doing something productive and the gym lets me constantly have a goal I’m working towards.
And I enjoy watching my body become more and more muscular. I don’t really bulk but I am significantly larger now as a 31 year old man than I was at any point in my early 20s.
I dislike taking photos of myself in gyms so here’s a photo of my physique.
I got so off topic. My apologies. I enjoy talking about my work out, I could do it for hours. TLDR. Yes but that’s not that main reason I work out. I just enjoy doing it.
Thank you for the question.
