This is what Santi wrote on his socials, after the contrasting rumours about him leaving or staying in Modena next season. Technically, he has a two-year contract so he could stay, tough it will also depend on the intentions of the new coach (Radostin Stoychev, for the record; he will be announced tomorrow). I think Santi is going to face a tough decision: either staying as the reserve setter behind the world’s best setter, meaning that you will basically never play but at the same time it could still be an amazing experience overall, or choosing a less competitive team where he could play as the regular, the downside of which is that you’re not going to win anything relevant ever again.

Personally, I do hope he’ll stay, as he has already proved he can be an asset for this team. Having both him and Bruno would mean having a high level of training, let alone the good leadership skills they both have. I also think they would get along very very well, as they are really similar, personality-wise. The whole team would benefit from it. However, I know for a fact that Santi has based his whole career on actually playing, even in small teams, rather than accepting a reserve setter position in a top club. Things might be different now, as he’s 33, but he genuinely loves playing volleyball, so it’s hard to tell. Anyway, as a fan I feel honoured to have had the chance to root for him as our setter. I absolutely don’t think he’s responsible for the team’s struggles in the second half of the season, and I hope he’ll stay with us. I admire him immensely, and I will always look up to his dedication and commitment to volleyball, and the huge respect he has for Modena’s jersey. He really understands the story that’s behind the yellow jersey, and I’d be sad to see him with a different colour on his shoulders next season.

Modena won the Pool D of the Champions League 2016/2017 men’s volleyball. The Italian champions have achieved the first place of their group by a beautiful victory against PGE Skra Belchatow, defeated 3-1 (25-16; 21-25; 25-22; 25-22) to PalaPanini.

Modena has dominated in all the fundamentals, with a super Luca Vettori (21 points with 46% up front) and the 15 markings Earvin N'Gapeth (15, 4 aces, although it has undergone seven walls). Great match also for the central Max Holt (13, 2 walls).Captain Nemanja Petric with 8, Santiago Orduna as Setter, Kevin Le Roux at the center (8 pts) and Salvatore Rossini as Libero complete the team.

This post wraps up Modena Volley’s season, which hasn’t been as successful as most of the fans would expect, given all the big names this team has. Whereas the final acts of the Champions League were quite disappointing, the Superlega playoff semifinals were far more tight, as Modena managed to force a strong team like Civitanova to several tie breaks none of which was won by Modena yeah never a joy is a thing. Yet, I will cherish many moments of this season, which has been really special to me, and I hope this goes for many other fans out there too. I would say that I still have all the flashbacks from the second leg of this crazy semifinal before my eyes, as though the season ended there, with that amazing victory.

Modena Volley will definitely undergone major changes in the next days, in order to be even stronger next year. We are the history of volleyball, and we won’t ever cease to be.

Bajo el lema “Construyendo una nueva identidad”, se llevó a cabo una nueva edición de la Semana de la Ingeniería. Más de 250 personas, entre ellas destacados ingenieros, funcionarios, CEOs de empresas y emprendedores, se reunieron en dos intensas jornadas para debatir el rol presente y futuro de la ingeniería en la Argentina.

La apertura estuvo a cargo del Presidente del Centro Argentino de Ingenieros, Ing. Horacio Cristiani y fue presidida por el Ing. Sergio Kaufman, Presidente de Acccenture,

También conto con palabras de bienvenida del ministro de Desarrollo Urbano y Transporte de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Lic. Franco Moccia.

El presidente del CAI, agradeció la presencia del Lic. Franco Moccia y expresó que la institución es la casa de todos los ingenieros. En el CAI se lleva a cabo un trabajo muy fecundo en la búsqueda de aportar mejoras al país y para todos los ciudadanos. Los ingenieros van renovándose constantemente mirando al futuro en base al pasado, por eso no es casual el lema “Construyendo una nueva identidad”.

El Ing. Kaufman por su parte sostuvo que es importante este tipo de encuentros para pensar nuevos desafíos que nos lleven a avanzar en nuestra área. Hoy lo tangible tiene mucho valor,  a la vez hay un mundo que no podemos tocar que también es de gran importancia. Los cambios se aceleran, el mundo va a estar cada vez más en nuestra cabeza que en lo tangible y en este contexto la ingeniería pasa a ser de gran valor.

La profesión del ingeniero pasó a convertirse en un referente en el área de tecnología e innovación, enfocado en el desarrollo de sus comunidades. participaron de la Semana de la Ingeniería 2017 organizada por el Centro Argentino de Ingenieros (CAI).

Durante los dos días se realizaron paneles que giraron en torno a estas temáticas: Mundo manejado por algoritmos, ¿cómo serán los ingenieros del mañana?, nuevas ciudades, revolución energética, ¿Cómo el estado ayuda a mejorar la competitividad? la tecnología del futuro hoy, y el rol del estado y las empresas.

Entre los panelistas más destacados contamos con la presencia de: Ing. Oscar Porto, Director General de Accenture (Digital-Analytics); Ing. Eugenia Denari, Directora de Marketing de Google; Ing. Horacio Salgado Decano de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la UBA; Ing. Nicolás Yamaguchi, analista senior de Mercado Libre; el Lic. Santiago Bilinkis, emprendedor y tecnológico, autor del libro “Pasaje al Futuro” y el Ing. Eduardo Levy Yeyati, Director coordinador del Programa Argentina 2030; Martín Orduna, subsecretario de Movilidad Urbana; Lic. Martín Etchegoyen, Secretario de Industria y Servicios de la Nación; el Lic. Sebastián Campanario, columnista de economía no convencional y creatividad del diario La Nación, entre otras personalidades.
