You know what fuck you *travels back in time to join a revolution and we fight and drink and share homoerotic tension. We have one last drink and song with our buddies and try our best to defend ourselves and tend to the wounded with our cravats but we end up dying together in each others’ arms all bloodied but looking into each others’ eyes.*

Y'all know Fragment 31, the most famous poem written by our Goddess and Saviour Sappho. This is how it ends: "but everything must be endured, since..." and we lost the last part of the verse.
Like, what do you mean "we lost" it?
I need to know, i need to fucking know what's the reason behind everything we have to endure and how we can do that.
[just got a breakdown over this don't judge me, okay?]

Sappho and Alcaeus
Lawrence Alma-Tadema 1881
Alma-Tadema wanted to make this painting of the OG lesbian, Sappho, as accurate as possible and wrote the names of her sorority around her.
The bit about Sappho inventing the guitar pick, and the reasoning for it, is 100% true as per historian Kirsty Loehr
