I Wanna Be Yours || Part 3
Tumblr media
Part 2 | part 4
↝a/n: We're getting closer to the kiss!! I'm so excited! I've had the kiss written for 2 chapters. Also I'm so confused on how to spell Vickie's name. I had been writing Vicky but it looked wrong so I looked it up and it's apparently Vickie. I don't care enough to fix it with my other work so ignore it.
↝pairing:Robin Buckley x fem!Wheeler!reader
↝Warning: mention of death, the graphic details of what Eddie said with Chrissy's death, not proof read. Possible spoilers if you still haven't watched season 4, everything that happens in stranger things, slow burn, Vickie doesn't exist here, not because I don't like her, but because it's easier to write for Robin when she's not madly in love with another chick.

“The way he looked at you!” Chrissy continued to gush, kicking her feet in a 'schoolgirl' way. She stared up at you with her head in her hands, laying on her stomach. Homework was long forgotten.
“He looks at everyone like that.” Rolling your eyes, you turned back to your dresser, looking in the top drawer for a certain shirt you were meant to of wore the day before. You were pretty sure Nancy had stolen it at this point. Wouldn't have been the first shirt that had just wound up missing just for you to see in either in Nancy's clothes basket or on her. “I saw him look at Mrs. O'Relle and I thought he was going to combust. He's just a naturally flirty guy. I don't even think he realizes it most of the time."
"Oh, okay. Yeah." With her tone and the smile on her face, it was obvious she didn't believe a word you said.
After closing the drawer harder than you meant to, you turned, glaring at the girl. "Anyway...i don't like him."
You regretted the way you said 'him' as soon as it rolled off your tongue. But you tried to play it off cool. However, she didn't.
"So there's another guy!" You were quick to shush her, with it being night and Holly had already been put to bed and the fact you did not want your parents or siblings knowing anything about your love life. "Sorry." She moved to sit up, watching as you sat on the edge of the mattress. "So...?"
"So what?"
"What's so special about this guy?" She said it as if you were stupid for asking.
"Nothing. Well, not like-" Closing your mouth, you couldn't find the words. Your eyes danced around your room, taking in the tacky paint from your childhood that you have yet to cover up. "He's different." No matter how much she tried for you to meet her eye, yours stayed glued to the wall In front of you.
After a few moments of silence, you glanced over, her face telling you to continue. Her smile was so sweet, happy for you.
"He's nice." She. She's nice. But Chrissy didn't need to know that. This is the first time you've told her about anyone you have ever fancied in the 5 years you two have been the best of friends. She was over the moon. "He's smart. He looks good in blue or green." Chrissy noticed the way your lip twitched into a small smile at the thought of this mystery 'man'.
"What's he look like?"
"Light brown hair, blue eyes." You began fiddling with your night shirt. "Tall. Taller than me, at least. Uh," You glanced back over, not wanting to be telling her this anymore. Sure, you've wanted to tell someone how you felt, how a girl you barely talk to could make you feel all kinds of giddy without meaning to. But this was too much. "Actually, I don't want to talk about this anymore. If you don't mind."
Before she could reply, you clicked your lamp off, leaving you to get under the blankets in the dark.
Robin's nice. She's smart. She looks good in blue or green. She had light-brown hair and pretty blue eyes. She is taller than you. She is beautiful. She is someone you couldn't even admit to liking to your closest friend.
You know Chrissy would never judge you or make you feel less than, but it was just different. It always would be. Sadly.
"He sounds nice, like someone you should admit your feelings to." Chrissy spoke up after a moment of silence, of which you had stared above you, darkness blocking the color of the ceiling. You nearly scoffed at her words. But you settled on humming in agreement, or maybe just to satisfy her.
•••••
"Her body just, like, lifted up in the air and, uh..and she just hung there In the air." You all but flinched as Eddie explained what had happened, more in detail than what Max had explained, obviously. Robin glanced at you ever so often, seeing you winch, wanting nothing more than to reach out and cover your ears or make Eddie stop talking. But they needed to know this, what had happened and maybe figure out why and what caused it. Because it certainly wasn't him.
You glanced up for a split second, catching Robin's concerned eyes. She held the eye contact for a few seconds before looking back at Eddie, who was distraught and certainly didn't know what to do and where to go from here.
•••••
"Shh!" You tried to steady a giggling Chrissy. She kept moving and wobbling, making it hard to walk straight when you, yourself were drunk. You really didn't want your parents hearing you stumbling through the house.
"Tonight was so fun!" She whispered yelled, getting a look from you before you shushed her again. You tried to help her up the stairs, cringing when she'd giggle again or the stairs would creak.
Today had been a close game, making everyone stressed, which made tonight the night where everyone had gotten drunk in a close celebration. You and Chrissy weren't people to drink, mostly because you were underage, but as said before, today was stressful. Maybe Chrissy had gotten a little too drunk. This was the first time, however. She's never one to take more than a few sips, out of the bitter taste that she hated. She would've probably drunk more if you hadn't told her it was time to go.
Finally up the stairs, you turned her body towards your room, holding your breath before you tried to guide her in the darkness.
Hearing a door creak open, you froze. Turning slightly, you saw Nancy looking at you with a disappointed mom face. She rolled her eyes before closing the door. You went back to your friend, shushing her again when she decided almost tripping over air was hilarious. She's definitely a giggle drunk.
Opening your door, you gently pushed her in. She dropped on your bed, face first, most likely smearing her makeup on your duvet.
Sighing, you went through your drawer, before throwing a big shirt at her. She flipped over, looking at the shirt as you went to the connected bathroom to change.
Walking out, you saw she had changed and was already in under the blanket.
She motioned for you to hurry, bringing the blanket up more. "Tonight was so fun." She repeated.
You hummed, getting under the blanket.
She continued talking. "Robin seems nice."
"Mhm."
"You two seem to be getting close."
"Yeah, we work together in, like, 2 classes. She's smart."
"Smart and nice."
"Yep." You flipped over, hiding the slight blush from talking about Robin. Not like it was much use, with how dark it was.
"Smart, nice, brown hair, blue eyes. She's taller than you. OH MY GOD." She jumped up, eyes wide.
You quickly turned, shushing her yet again, trying to get her to lay back down.
"She's just like your crush!" She whispered yelled, again, not really whispering.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, just lay back down."
"That's so crazy." She began to lay back down.
After a few moments, she spoke up again. You had to stop yourself from huffing, after nearly going to sleep.
"Y/n?"
"Yes, Chrissy?"
"Is Robin your crush?" You felt as if your heart fell out of your ass.
"No, why would you think that?" You stayed looking away from her, stretching your hands out so they'd stop shaking.
"She's the exact description of your crush. I mean, it makes sense. You have been hanging out-"
"We're partners in class-"
She continued, "You act different around her."
"Only because I don't really know her like I know you-"
"It's okay. I promise."
You turned, knowing she's looking back at you. You feel like you could cry right now.
"Chrissy, please go to sleep." You whispered, closing your eyes.
"Okay!" She turned, getting comfortable before her snores started not even 3 minutes later.
Good God.
•••••
"And her bones-" Eddie made a sound, cringing, hating how it all replayed in his head. "Her bones started to snap."
You stood from where you had squatted, feeling like you were getting strangled by air itself. Rubbing against your chin, you didn't know whether to keep listening or step outside, where the cool night air might make you feel better. Eddie continued, "Her eyes, man."
Turning, you stepped over the other people and the mess of the shed floor, not really giving yourself time to grab your flashlight. "It-it was like there was something, like, inside her head, pulling."
The door slammed closed behind you. The cool air fanned against your face, feeling the complete opposite of the frantic hot breaths making your lips and hands tremble.
After a few moments, the door creaked open, a flashlight shining around until it shined on you.
"Dustin's telling Eddie everything." Robin finally spoke after a moment. You simply nodded, looking into the nothingness of the night. "They said something about Vecna's Curse?" It sounded more oof a question than a statement, honestly.
"The D&D dude?" She shrugged, not really knowing, herself. "Oh my- if I hear one more thing about that stupid game...I'm actually going to lose my mind." She dryly chuckled, pointing the flashlight around the shed, noting how scary it looked with all the trees around. "It's getting chilly, let's see what they're doing for the night." Her hand skimmed the tin door, looking at you to follow her. She watched you shakingly inhale before stepping behind, following her back in. She didn't really know what else to do than send a sympathetic smile before turning around, opening the door.
•••••
"I'm scared!" You wailed, utterly done with this world at the moment. You really didn't care if you sounded like every teenager going through it.
Chrissy looked at you with so much question, not prying question. She wanted so dearly to hear you, to know how you're feeling and what's making you feel that way.
This wasn't how she pictured the conversation going. She innocently asked about Robin and how she was. But somehow it escalated to her telling you to just tell her how you felt, how you longed to be able to touch her soft skin, tell her all the things you have held back all this time.
"Why?"
"Why?" immediately you felt bad for raising your voice when Chrissy's own voiced wasn't. Hers was soft, genuine. "I can't just tell her."
She wasn't oblivious, she knew why you couldn't openly express your love for someone, not like she could with Jason. "You don't have to kiss in public, just...tell her. She could feel the same-"
"Or she couldn't. And next thing you know, I'm the laughing stock of Hawkins. People can be cruel, Chrissy." Your voice was strained, as was your head pounding. "I just don't want to talk about it."
Although Chrissy wanted nothing more for you to open up to her, she let off for the time being. Maybe she felt guilty for always coming to you when something is a slight convenience to her. Or maybe she felt hurt that she would tell you everything, while you were so closed off. It made her think that you didn't trust her like she trusted you.
•••••
"Jesus!" Dustin kicked the door to the shed open, startling Eddie.
"Delivery service." The kid tried to lighten the mood, seeing his friend so on edge.
It was disgusting how Eddie was stuffing his mouth with food, but you get it. He hadn't eaten since the day before, and probably heaved that up.
"So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news." Dustin started. "How do you prefer it?"
"Bad news first, always."
"Alright bad news." Dustin continued. You couldn't help the yawn that made you cover your mouth, turning to face the water that looked so calm. "We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're defiantly looking for you. Also they're uh,"
"They're pretty convinced you killed Chrissy." Eddie turned to look at you as you turned your eyes away from the open view.
"Like, 100% kind of convinced." Max spoke up from where she sat behind you.
Eddie turned back to his friend, awaiting the supposed 'good news'. "And the good news?"
"You name hasn't gone public yet." Both you and Eddie turned to Robin, both for entirely different reasons. Her eyes fell down to yours for a split second, before returning to Eddie's curious ones. "But if we found out about you, it's a matter of time before other do too and, once this gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for you."
"Hunt the freak, right?"
"Exactly."
"Shit."
"So," Dustin spoke up again, "Before that happens, we need to find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence." The way he spoke, it seemed like the easiest thing to do in the whole wide world.
"That's all, Dustin? That's all?" Sarcasm dripped from Eddie's words like vemon.
"Yeah, no, that's pretty much it."
"Listen, Eddie." Once again, you attention was on Robin.
Her hair looked pretty today.
"I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional," You couldn't help watch her hands as she waved them around. "But we've actually been through this kind of thing before. I mean, they have a...few times, and i have once. Mine was more human-flesh-based, and theirs was more smoke-related." She sighed, catching herself rambling. "But bottom line is, collectively, I really feel we got this."
Even as Steve began talking, you stayed looking at her, maybe longer than you should have because she glanced back down. "We usually rely on this girl who has super powers. But uh those went bye-bye, so..."
Robin spoke, "So we're technically in more of the-"
"Kinda-" Steve waved around.
"Brainstorming phase." Max concluded.
"Brainstorming." Steve snapped his fingers at her.
Eddie looked the most unsure of something you've ever seen somebody.
Dustin began sputtering, his voice going up an octave. "There...there's nothing to worry about."
Steve scoffed, nodding along with Dustin. Eddie titled his head at them.
"Eddie, look." He turned to you, looking for some kind of help here. "You don't really have a choice." You didn't mean for the words to come out as harsh as they did, but with the lack of sleep and the headache that was soon to be coming, you really didn't feel like apologizing, atleast not right now.
Sirens rang out, causing everyone to panic and rush forward towards Eddie.
"Tarp." Robin pointed at the blue tarp. "Tarp. Tarp." Eddie rushed to hide back under the thing he had been hiding under all night.
You all ran towards the window, watching as cop cars and an ambulance flew past.
"Nancy." You were the first out of the car when Steve parked, nearly climbing over Robin in doing so. Nancy looked out of it, not know her right from left, up from down. She watched the car pull up, looking as if she was about to burst out in tears any second.
You held your sister in your arms, rubbing your hand up and down her back, trying to ease her emotions from your spot beside her.
"So, you're saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy, it's from the Upside Down?"
"If the shoe fits." Steve responded to Nancy.
"Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse." Dustin wasn't quite sure of anything, at this point. "Now, whether or not he's doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don't know."
Nancy shrugged your arms off of her, causing a frown to form on your face. But you didn't push it. Instead, you folded your arms over your chest, pushing another yawn down.
Max spoke up, "All we know is this is something different. Something new."
"Doesn't make sense." Nancy stated. Of course it doesn't make sense, nothing has for the past few years.
"It's only a theory."
"No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. I mean, why them?"
"Maybe they were at the wrong place at the wrong time." Dustin countered, "They were both at the game."
"And near the trailer park."
"..."
"We're at the trailer park." You and Steve spoke in unison, looked at each other, uneasy.
"Uh, should we maybe not be here?"
Everyone glanced around, uncomfortable.
"There is something about this place."
"Let's go." You stood, kicking your legs out from the table.
Yet, no one followed.
"Fred started acting weird the second we got here."
"Then let's leave." You urged them to get up, maybe run to the car and get the hell out of here.
"Acting weird as in...?" Robin questioned, watching as you looked around, a pit in your stomach.
"Scared, on edge, upset."
"Max said Chrissy was upset too."
"Yeah, but not here." Max stated, remembering back to the bathroom. She turned to you, knowing you said she'd been acting weird around you too.
"We can actually talk about this in the car."
Max continued, "She was crying in the bathroom at school."
Looking away from everyone, you nearly jumped out of your skin when Robin touched your arm, trying to ease your nerves. Your face grew red, from the scare, of course. Not from her skin touching yours. Not one bit.
"Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right?" You gawked at her, "So maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this vecman-"
"Vecna." Dustin quickly corrected.
"Dunno about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to somebody."
"Maybe they did." Max states, "I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelley's office. If you saw a monster, you wouldn't go to the police. They'd never believe you."
To be fair, if you hadn't seen it multiple times in real life, you wouldn't believe anyone either. Unless it was Chrissy.
"But you might go to your-"
"Your shrink."
Max's nod was enough for you to begin walking back to the car, knowing they were going to do the same. The faster you were out of this trailer park, the better.
"Woah, woah, woah, Nance. Nance!" Looking back, you watched Steve go after Nancy, seeing her walking away from his car. "Nance, where are you going?"
"Oh, there's just something I want to check out first." She continued to walk backwards.
"Something you wanna share with us?" Dustine threw his arms open in question.
"Nancy?" You questioned her, not quite sure what was going through her brain, but you knew it was moving too fast right now.
"I don't want to waste your time. It's a real shot in the dark."
"Yeah, okay. Are you out of your mind? Flying solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No, it's too dangerious. You need," He glanced back at the rest of us, before looking back at her. "You need someone to..." He trailed off before turning and throwing his keys at Robin. "Here, i'll stick with Nance, alright. You guys take the car, check out the shrink."
"I don't think you want me driving your car."
"Why?"
"I don't have a license."
"Why don't you have a license?" He looked utter flabbergasted, as if he hadn't been driving her around everywhere.
"I'm poor."
Steve turned to you, getting a frantic shake of your head.
"Absolutely not." It was too nerve wracking for you. The first time you tried driving, you nearly had a panic attack and your mother had to calm you down from the passenger seat.
"I can drive." Max spoke up, nearly making Steve have an aneurysm. You could practically see memories of before flashing behind his eyes, causing you to hide your smile.
He automatically pointed at her, "No! No. Never again. Please. Anyone but you. No."
Dustin shrugged, suggesting himself. "No chance." Steve sighed, "No."
"C'mon."
"Alright, okay. This is stupid." Robin grabbed a flashlight out of Dustin's bag, walking towards Steve and dropping his keys back in his hands. "Us ladies will stick together." She turned, grabbing your arm and walking to Nancy. She gave you a questioning look, asking if you wanted to go with them. You slightly smiled, grabbing a flashlight out of the bag next, as Robin continued to poke fun at Steve. "Unless you think we need you to protect us."
Steve sighed.
Robin smiled at him as he shook his head, before turning to walk towards Nancy's car.
"Be careful!" He called out, watching as you got into the car.
"Just gonna stand there and gawk?"
"Shut up."

Tumblr media
The first time you had met Robin was right after Nancy and Steve had broken up. Ironic really. Your sister got her heartbroken and you met someone who seemed to take your breath away with a single glance. She had gotten the locker right beside yours, leading you two to start a conversation one morning. Talking to her was easy.
1983 was a crazy year. Not only with family drama but with Will going missing, Joyce losing her mind, according to everyone in town, and the Demogorgon. You somehow got pulled into the loop and never could get out.
Next, it was the Mind Flayer. Will pretty much getting possessed. Some gate to the upside down. You really didn't have a lot of time to get closer to her then.
The next year, you tried to forget about what happened, distracting yourself with trips to the mall. You didn't see Robin a lot until she got a job with Steve at Scoops Ahoy.
It was a little awkward going in there. You didn't really know Steve, having not had a lot of time to meet him when he and Nancy were together. But you did get to know each other when he helped Mike and Dustin. He seemed alright.
Robin was great. She was nice, smart, and sarcastic. When you'd buy ice cream, you always got a kick out of her picking at Steve. He needed to be kicked down a notch. She was the perfect one to do it.
Then, the mall fell. However, Robin was swooped into the loop. Even with her brains, you didn't want her to get involved. It was dangerous just being a normal citizen living in Hawkins, being clueless. Actually knowing what is happening and being a part in it...you rather her not.
Although you two talked and nearly died a few times, you kept your distance. Maybe it was the feelings or just not being at the same place in time.
Until senior year.
It is stressful, with all the work and all the basketball games. Everyone was actually trying this year. They had to.
Lucky for you, one of your teachers had partnered you and Robin up for a project.
After not really talking for a while, it was talking everyday- for the project, of course.
But it was different. She seemed...different. Maybe you were acting different too. You really couldn't tell.
The feelings were still in the bottom of your stomach, flaring up each time she was around. Each time she'd look at you, smile, god forbid her laugh at a dumb joke you made. You were a goner, you knew it, Chrissy knew it...eventually. Robin couldn't know it.
No, you forbid it.
There's no telling what would happen if it got out that you liked Robin- another girl. Hawkins could be cruel.
••••
Robin quietly hummed to the radio as Nancy drove. It was awkward, for some reason. Nancy was just acting...off. Sure, her friend died, but it seemed to be more than that, deep down.
It wasn't until Robin hummed the wrong note that you made a sound from the backseat.
Nancy broke from her stare at the road, glancing back at you.
The younger girl turned to look at you, a blush creeping on her face in embarrassment. But it was washed away quickly.
She couldn't help but notice the way your smile seemed to cut the tension like a knife . It was magnetic, drawing her in closer with every passing moment. Yet, the fear of ruining whatever it was you had held her back from confessing her true feelings. Ever.
Oh how she wanted to jump over the back seat and show you what she's kept to herself for so many years.
The feelings had only grown stronger when you nearly died together.
••••
"Okay, help me get his straight,"
You pulled your jacket closer to your body, having felt a chill run up your spine as soon as you stepped out of the car.
Robin and Nancy walked a little in front of you. "Eddie's uncle, Wayne, thinks that Victor Creel escaped from Pennhurst Asylum and that he's the one running around Hawkins, committing these murders?" Robin asked, her hands out at her sides.
"Pretty much." Nancy concluded with a close-lipped smile.
Robin turned back to you now, slowing a tad. "But Victor committed the eyeball murders, like, way back in the 50's."
"Well, '59."
Holding the door open for you, Robin let you go in first, questions still directed towards your sister.
Pushing the warm blush down, you tried to ignore how the simple gesture made you feel. Just manners.
"So, that means these murders predate Eleven in the Upside Down by about 30 years?"
"Yeah."
"Which makes spooky Victor Creel, like, 70 years old."
"Yep." Nancy dinged the bell, sighing with all the questions.
"So, he's a grandpa murderer who can turn invisible and lift people into the air."
"It doesn't make sense. I know-"
"Wouldn't be the weirdest thing that's happened." You interuppted.
"That's why I said it was a shot in the dark." Nancy seemed to ignore you altogether, not sparing you a glance when you had spoken up before.
With furrowed brows, you listened to them continue to talk, ringing the bell again. "I know. I just thought that by 'shot in the dark', you were being modest or hiding something super solid up your sleeve that you were gonna wow us with later. But this is really, truly a shot in the dark." Nancy dinged the bell yet again. "Like, we are snipers with blindfolds on who've been spun around 50 times." Robin went on rambling.
Nancy rapidly dinged the bell.
"Coming!" A lady sing-songed.
"Hi. Sorry, we're in a bit of a rush." Nance tried to be nice, "Could we get the keys to the basement archives?"
"Of course, give me one sec."
When the lady walked off, Robin turned, "Did i come off mean or condescending?"
"No." Nance quickly answered, before looking away.
"Right. Sorry. it's just you seem annoyed."
"She's always like that." Is what you inched to say, but you kept your mouth shut, just listening.
"You don't know me very well. I don't really have a filter ot a strong grasp of social cues. Y/n can vouch for me."
"Okay."
"If i said something that upsets you, just know that i know it's a flaw. Believe me, my mother reminds me daily." Wouldn't call it a flaw. Infact, you found it entertaining how she's ramble on about whatever when you'd work together in school. Sure, the project took longer than needed, but you got to know her and how her brain works. You found it quite adorable.
"Got it."
Pursing your lips, you couldn't help but want to tell your sister to loosen up and stop acting like that. But it's not really your place to tell her that, with her friend dying and everything. Wasn't really the time.
"Alright, ladies." The woman dangled the keys infront of her. "Here you go. Have fun."
"Yep, we'll try."
"Thank you." You smiled at the lady before following behind Robin.
••••
After not finding anything on Victor, you switched with Robin. The light from the screen was giving you a headache. You sat in the floor Infront of them, leaning your head back and closing your eyes for some kind of relief.
"Anything...juicy over there?"
"Nothing new." Nancy sighed.
"Yep, same here. Victor seemed like a normal guy. Dead family, missing eyes, took a plea deal, sent to Pennhurst. Blah, blah, blah, blah."
Nancy dropped her head in annoyance.
Robin moved to the side of the machine, looking at the other girl. "What are we looking for exactly?" When she didn't get a response, she knocked on the side of the machine.
You couldn't help the groan of pain that caught their attention. Your headache was only getting worse. It felt more like a migraine at this point.
Robin muttered an apology, turning back to Nancy with a softer voice.
"Any mention of dark wizards or alternate dimensions? Things in that vein?"
"I don't know. Okay?" At her irritation, you opened your eyes to watch Nancy stand up in frustration. "It's started to seem like this was just a big waste of time. And you're obviously bored, y/n feels like her head's about to explode. Why don't you just call Steve? I'm sure he'll come pick you up." Was that...jealousy you were sensing? "And I mean, I'm not really in danger here so..." Nancy walked away.
You turned to Robin, who had her mouth open to reply but couldn't seem to find the words.
Standing up, you followed Nancy, Robin sat in silence for a few seconds before following.
"You do know that Steve and I are, like, totally not a thing, right?"
Robin leaned on the staircase rail that led to the file cabinets. Nance stopped looking through the drawer, instead listening to her words.
"What?" She turned, looking as if the other girl had lost her mind for thinking such a thing.
Robin walked around the shelves, moving to stand where you two were. "So, i figure you and Jonathan are still going strong 'cause you guys are going to college together and you're like one of those unstoppable power couples but i...i just. I wanted to make sure that you knew that Steve and I are just friends. Like platonic with a capital P."
Nancy looked up, her face falling onto you standing behind her. "Y/n, your nose is bleeding."
Moving to wipe your nose, you looked at the blood that appeared when you pulled your hand away. "Jesus."
Robin panicked, looking everywhere for some kind of tissue or napkin. After not finding anything, you had no other choice but to use your jacket. Gross? Of course. But it was the only thing you had at the moment. There's no way you were goi g all the way up to ask for a tissue for your bloody nose.
You waved the other two off, letting them continue their conversation.
After a few seconds, Robin continued, "Just in case that's adding any tension between us."
"It wasn't."
It was.
•••••
Rushing out of the building, you held the blood covered jacket balled up in your hand, "Dustin, do you copy?"
"Yeah, i copy."
"So, Nancy is a genius. Vacna's first victims date all the way back to 1959." Robin spoke into the walky-talky. "Her shot in the dark was a bull's-eye."
"Okay, that's totally bonkers, but I can't talk right now."
"Why?" You leaned over to speak clearly and to hear Dustin.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Robin followed up, opening the car door.
"Breaking and entering school to retrieve confidential and extremely personal files."
"Jesus Christ." You flopped into the backseat.
"Can you repeat that?" Robin looked at you with worry for the boy and his actions. She was hoping the static messed up what he was actually saying, which totally wasn't that he had broken into school to steal personal files that he could get into big trouble for.
"Just get your ass over here, stat. We'll explain everything."
"I Thought they were talking to Ms. Kelly."
"We leave them alone for 2 hours."
••••
After games it wasn't unusual to have fun, drink and have a good ol' times. You were surounded by people who just wanted to have a good time and celebrate a win. Nothing happens, just drunken words thrown around carelessly, not a thought in most peoples under the influence minds.
You were always near Chrissy, who was often than not near Jason, who in turn, was with his friends.
The smell of alcohol and weeds wafted through your nostils and clung to your clothes. But you weren't worried about that when Chrissy was making you snort your water out of your nose.
You two were probably thw only sober ones in Jason's home. His parents had been out for date night, which he took full advantage of.
"I'm not even exagerating." Chrissy giggled, hitting your arm as you tried to wipe at the liquid you cough up.
Suddenly, the music stipped, along with Chrissy's giggles. Looking up, everyone had stopped what they were doing, eyes on you.
Turning to your side in confusion, Chrissy was staring at you in disgust. "Chris, wha-"
"You just had to be different, didn't you?"
You were now more confused than ever. What was she talking about?
Before you could question her further, she continued. "You're just confused."
"What are you talking about?!"
"You're a freak."
Jason spoke up in a nonchalant tone, but the disgust on his face said otherwise.
The room was closing in on itself, everyone moving in closer without seeming to move at all. All eyes were burning into your skin.
Standing up, you needed fresh air. This is all too much.
As you went to move your foot, it didn't move. It was as if they were glued to the floor, no matter how hard you tugged to move, you stayed where you were.
"Freak." Jason started up again, but everyone in the room echoed it. Chrissy stood, pushing you back, echoing the words aswell. You had noticed how she didn't look the same. Her jaw was to the side, clearly broke. Where her eyes used to be were hallowed. Like what Eddie had described. You screamed as she pushed you.
As you fell back, you never met the couch where you had been sitting. You continued falling, the words never stopping. They echoed and echoed and echoed, getting louder and louder and louder.
••••
Gasping, you jumped up, falling back against the backseat of Nancy's car due to the seatbelt, hitting your head. Cursing, you didn't notice Robin and Nancy bot looking back at you in concern. Nancy had stopped the car when you loudly gasped.
"Y/n? y/n? Y/n!"
Your head shot up, meeting Nancy's terrified eyes.
"Are you okay?"
It took you a second to register what she was talking about. "Wha- yeah. Yeah, I'm good." Ignoring how your voice sounded hoarse, you just wanting her to drive to where Dustin and everybody was. You wanted them to stop staring at you like you were crazy, like you were a freak. You don't know how Eddie doesn't act affected by being called that publicly.
"You sure?"
Robin's voice sounded different. Like she actually cared about you and how you were feeling. Not how people sound when they automaticlly ask if you're okay.
"Yeah, just drive."
reluctantly, Nancy began driving, glancing back at you often. Robin stayed turned around, watching you for a little bit before she turned back around, not wanting to just stare at you, even if she wanted to see for herself that you were, in fact, alright.

Can you do a fic where reader has a disorganized attachment style in relationships and robin is confused why reader is always acting weird and like reader says “don’t go away but don’t get to close please”
Disorganized Attachment
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↝a/n: I didn't even know what that was, so I went to Google. Sorry if I wrote it wrong, I really tried. Also sorry I wrote this more of a head cannon(?), it was rushed and I didn't know how to write a full one-shot. If you enjoy this, I can try on the one-shot...maybe. feedback is appreciated. Call me out if I wrote this wrong!
↝pairing: Robin Buckley x fem!reader
↝ warning: disorganized attachment relationship(?), angst, negative thoughts, confused Robin, idk
↝⎙ 6.21.23
Tumblr media
Robin wasn't really sure what your relationship was... honestly. It had just happened one day.
You two met, went to see a movie, continued meeting up, kissed for the first time. And it seemed like the relationship started there. There wasn't any actual 'hey, will you be my girlfriend?' or anything. But It's not like she minded. She adored you from the minute you met.
But as the days grew, she started noticing the little things you do. Like, how you would just look at her with such adoration, and then the next second, as if someone whispered something bad about her in your head, you looked at her with uncertainty, distancing yourself.
She had asked you about it early on, but you brushed it off.
Robin also took notice of your anxiety and how you deal with it. Out in public, she could see how it affected you, noticing how you would constantly look at her to make sure she was around, but never holding onto her to make sure she never left your side.
When you two got further into the relationship, it was like whiplash for her.
When going to sleep, she wasn't sure what to do. Touch wasn't your thing, but it was hers. She respected you though. She knew you wanted her close, just not too close. What she didn't know was that you wanted her to be so close but the thought of her leaving and never being there for you ever again clouded your mind every second. It was scary to love someone and have the daunting thought that they'll leave in your head constantly. But you were not going to tell her that, absolutely not. Openly discussing your feelings and fears was like willing them into existence.
So you kept these fears to yourself.
A little over half a year into the relationship, Robin had had enough.
"Look, I get it. I get you don't want to open up, but I need you to. For our relationship. I can't keep dating a brick wall." And just like she knew you would, you brushed it off. On the outside, it looked like you didn't care. But you did. Maybe a little too much..
The house was silent, just Robin staring at you as you looked down, keeping your eyes on the floor. "Please talk to me." You hated how her voice was pleading. It wasn't fair to her.
So you opened up, despite your brain telling you to stop.
As cliche as it sounds, your brain was keeping you protected, while also being the one to make up these terrible thoughts, while your heart ached for her. For her touch.
Robin wiped at your tears anytime they rolled down your soft cheeks; expressing your feelings and emotions was difficult. Especially when you avoid it for so long. It starts eating at you.
But Robin would be there.
Every negative thought, she'd be there to shoo it away, replacing it with compliment after compliment.
Going out, she'd stay close, maybe having a hand on the bottom of your back, or hooking her pinky with yours.
Bed time calls for her being close, but not too close. You two would lay facing each other, taking.in every imperfect perfection.
She saw the love you had for her in your eyes and in your actions. She didn't need you to constantly be cuddling or telling her how much you loved her to feel the love.
It would take a little while for her to have you gain control over your feelings and communication. But you get there eventually, or however close you need to get. She'd push you out of your comfort bubble, only because she knew you could deal with it.

Bye Bye Baby // First Heartbreak
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↝a/n: I kinda enjoyed writing this. Feedback is appreciated. ALSO next part of I Wanna Yours will be coming out soon!
↝pairing: Robin Buckley x fem!reader
↝ Warning: angst, break up, first heartbreak, out of character Robin (?), Mention of a character death, not correctly lined up lyrics with the Moments, timelines are all over the place- bare with me, not proofread

(Lyrics are Bold.)
Tumblr media
It wasn't just like a movie
The rain didn't soak through my clothes, down to my skin
Usually in movies, when the main character gets their heart broken, it is raining, becoming a dramatic scene that every teen girl was supposed to cry their eyes out over when seeing.
Your heart laid in a million pieces and there wasn't a rain drop in sight. This wasn't what you expected your first heartbreak to be like.
I'm driving away and I, I guess you could say
This is the last time I'll drive this way again
2 weeks later, no word from anyone. Not Robin, not your friends. You were tempting to get in your car at drive until Hawkins and the memories faded into the far, far distance.
Lost in the gray and I try to grab at the fray
'Cause I, I still love you but I can't
"Robin, I..." The phone was held tightly by your hand close to your ear. You seemed to stay by the phone for the past week. Waiting for someone, anyone to reach out. Most of your hope was for the girl you prayed to see- hold...again. Before you could say anything else, you put the phone back into its holder, like you have at least 10 times.
Bye, bye, to everything I thought was on my side
The movie you used to rent, the one you loved so much you eventually bought- skipped. Many nights sitting on the couch of your family home, cuddled up with the person you loved, watching and laughing, maybe crying until it hurt, skipped. Bits and pieces breaking out on the VHS. The tape was glitching until the tape broke, the actual tape inside becoming a mess. It was as if the black block looked up at you, laughing. Mocking.
Bye, bye, baby
The pillow she'd barely sleep on, opting to sleep laying on your chest, somehow smelt like her. Not a purfume of cologne, her scent. One of the many things you loved, craved about her. You didn't know if you should wash it or hold it close, sushi with every ounce of your being that it was her instead. If it was her, the scent would never fade.
I want you bad but it's come down to nothing
You promised yourself to stop trying to contact her. If you had any self-respect, you'd stop. However, you couldn't help the feeling you'd get when the phone rang. It was embarrassing.
And all I have is your sympathy
Robin stood in front of you, fiddling with her rings, not looking you in the eye. She couldn't bring herself to do so.
"So, you're breaking up with me?" After a moment, she slowly nodded. "Can I ask why?"
Her heart broke for you when your voice broke.
You didn't blame her, you never could do such a thing. She didn't feel the same and that's okay. It didn't make it hurt any less.
'Cause you took me home but you just couldn't keep me
"Y/n/n, I really am sorry." Walking towards your house, it was pure silence, only the sniffles from you and the rock that would slide under Robin's shoes, making her kick it along the side walk. Coming up to your drive way, she broke the silence.
Bye, bye, baby
Bye, bye, baby
Nodding, you continued towards the porch, wanting nothing more than drag yourself into your room and sob into your pillow, or maybe in the shower where you could blame the water for the liquid rolling down your face instead.
The picture frame is empty
On the dresser, vacant just like me
Week 1 your mom had done you the favor of getting everything of hers out of the room. Well, first she wanted you to get out of your room, but deciding on plan b as she sympathized with your first heartbreak. Thankfully she didn't think of her pillow, but she took the picture. It was of you and her before a pep rally. She was in her band outfit while you were in normal clothes, ready to stare at your girlfriend in adoration at her talent, not paying attention to whoever was supposed to be the center of attention at the event. Your mother had caught the photo, always bring one for capturing moments. It honestly hurt her to get rid of the picture. She really adored her.
I see your writing on the dash
"This car is literally ancient."
The old Chevrolet Bel Air was all dusty, your father not having cleaned it in probably 20 years, where the car sat in the garage, untouched. He had given it to you after you finally got your license, a spur of the moment. The car was a gift so you didn't gripe about the dust. What did concern you was the way the car could probably fall apart from not running for so long, but surprisingly held up well. "Obviously." Robin sat forward, rubbing her finger on the dash, writing something, her finger coming back with a black mark.
Your nose scrunched in disgust. "Don't do that."
She made a sound of disgust before wiping it on her jeans.
"All jokes aside, it's a pretty car."
You couldn't agree more. The pretty red paint job was shiny after the car wash, almost blinding.
Then back to your hesitation
Reaching across, your hand making contact with hers, fingertips running up the inside of her wrist, moving up to intertwine with her slender fingers. She hesitated, looking down at your hand as you continued paying attention to the road in front of you. She relaxed her hand, letting your fingers intertwine into one comforting moment.
I was so sure of everything
As your fingers met, your lips twitched into a small smile, glancing over at her looking out at the blurred trees and houses. God, you would never get over her side profile.
Everything I thought we'd always have
Your eyes watched the old couple hold each other as they walked over to the bence a little aways from the park. As long as you went to this park, even as a kid, the couple had walked to the park, talking about whatever they wished, never seeming to run out of things to talk about. The women's wrinkled old hand moved to throw break crumbs around, struggling to bend her knees to sit down on the old wooden bench, having her husband attempt to help. The old man tried to smile. Although it might have been a struggle to get placed, or do much of anything, you could tell the old couple loved every second of it because they did it together, they went through it together. Hearing commotion from beside you, you turned, seeing Robin's blushing face as she tried to clean the juice stain in the picnic quilt. She apologized profusely, trying to dab and drag with the napkins. The stain wasn't budging but you didn't mind, simply staring at her before you assured her it was fine.
Guess I never doubted it
"I adore you." You noticed every highlight she had gotten from the sun as you laid in your bed, the early sun lighting your room as you ran your hand through her hair. She hummed from her spot of your chest, sounding sleepy.
Then the here and the now floods in
Feels like I'm becoming a part of your past
Walking through the park, something made you look up, you didn't really know what.
A familiar brown head of hair was standing not that far away from the walking trail that you were on, subconsciously walking past where you had sat for a picnic with the person you would've easily grown old with, fed the bird with. She smiled at a red head, keeping a proximity that was obviously forced due to the peoples possible opinions that stood around.
Bye, bye, to everything I thought was on my side
Bye, bye, baby
You had to fight with yourself to turn away, look anywhere but her- them. For your heart's sake.
Your eyes landed on the bench. The empty bench.
I want you bad but it's come down to nothing
And all I have is your sympathy
When you went home, you couldn't help but ask your mom at dinner. "Mom, you know the couple who would go to the park and feed the birds?"
She looked up, her chewing slowing as she stared at you, before nodding. She swallowed before clearing her throat.
"Yes, Honey. Have you heard?"
"Heard what?"
Your mom glanced at your father from his spot at the table.
"The woman died a week ago, sweetie."
'Cause you took me home but you just couldn't keep me
Bye, bye, baby
As soon as you opened the door, you mother looked up from her place on the couch, smiling at your back. She always loved seeing how happy you were after dates with your girlfriend.
She was about to ask all about it before you turned around, lips trembling and tears cascading down your face. Her face fell as she got up, moving to comfort you.
"She broke up with me, mom." You sobbed in her arms, like you have plenty of times in your life. But this was different.
There's so much that I can't touch
Your sweet mother had put everything of Robin's in a cardboard box in the garage, ready anytime you wanted to do whatever- give it back or burn it, totally up to you. But every time you went into the garage, you ignored it. According to you, there wasn't even a box.
You're all I want but it's not enough this time
Speaking of the nonexistent box, you had reached for something hanging up behind it on the wall, something your father asked for when your arm bent, knocking the box forward and off the shelf. Everything scattered on the cold concrete floor. You huffed, bending down to pick everything up. Your fingers skimming over the soft clothing and knickknacks you bought her. Sitting the knocked over box upright, you began throwing everything in, trying not to pay too much attention to the old memories you were throwing without a care.
And all the pages are just slipping through my hands
And I'm so scared of how this ends
"Bug?"
Your father stood in the garage door, after not hearing from you after asking you to get the thing - that was long forgotten now- he came looking. He stopped, watching as you hunched over a cardboard box, looking up into the roof, trying to hold tears at bay. He frowned, moving forward and helping you up, leaving the box to deal with later, only wanting you to get inside.
Bye, bye, to everything I thought was on my side
"Steve," Acknowledging the man you saw before you, you couldn't help feeling a little happy about seeing an old friend, even if it was running into him in a store. You two had gotten along great, you considered him a friends. Robin trusted him with her life, so you would too.
He sent back a tight-lipped smile, seeming slightly uncomfortable with the whole interaction before he slipped past you.
Bye, bye, baby
"I'm doing great." Robin beamed, seemingly believing the smile you plastered on your face before she started up a conversation. It didn't help it was in the park yet again. There wasn't really any reason for you being here, the memories not doing you any good, but maybe a walk would. Atleast, that's what you told yourself. "Really great."
The lovesick expression she had in her face quite obviously wasn't for you, you're not sure it had ever been.
But she was happy.
I want you bad but it's come down to nothing
And all I have is your sympathy
Feeling weak at the knees after Robin walked off, you took refuge in the old bench. Oh the irony.
You were supposed to grow old with Robin and sit here. Grow old and feed the stupid bird with stupid bread that you'd eventually had trouble with with age. But Robin would help, smiling lovingly.
'Cause you took me home but you just couldn't keep me
Bye, bye, to everything I thought was on my side
"Hon?" Wiping at your eyes, you looked up. The old man kindly smiled, his old, shaky hands trying to motion to the spot beside you. "Oh no,-god. No- please. Sit." You scooted over more, wiping more at your eyes as he sat. You two sat in silence, not the usual uncomfortable silence most old men would have happening. This old man seemed like the sweetest man to ever walk this earth.
"She wasn't my first."
"What?" You asked because 1, you had barely heard him with how his voice wavered and 2, you weren't really sure what she was talking about.
"Becky, she wasn't my first girlfriend, or even my first wife."
"Oh." That had to be the old lady's name.
"I know you know of her, you'd watch with a smile as she fed the birds ever since you were little. Most people did." Above his lip wrinkled as he fondly smiled. "So many people have commented on our trip here. On our love."
"I'm sorry for your loss." You couldn't help but feel bad. He lost his woman who he loved so dearly that many people were as good of them as you were.
"Thank you, dear." He went back to before, going through the many comments people have made on the cute couple. "It took time. I had just got divorced. Becky nearly ripped my head off as I used a couple of my pops old pickup lines while I still wore a wedding ring. But she listened, she believed me. I'm thankful we both met that day, even under difficult circumstances. That girl might not have been the one, and that's okay. You'll find a Becky. Everyone will."
Bye, bye, baby
"They're adorable, aren't they?" You had turned behind, looking at your newly girlfriend, after seeing the old couple walk away, back to wherever they come from every evening. Robin hummed, running her fingers absentmindedly over the back of your hand, mind elsewhere. You two sat under the usual tree you always sat under.
I want you bad but it's come down to nothing
And all I have is your sympathy
"Thanks." Robin awkwardly grabbed the box out of your hand, moving deeper into her home to put the box down, seeing the top layer of everything she had left, not quite having the nerve to ask for everything back. Truthfully, she would've been fine if you threw it away or burned it.
'Cause you took me home but you just couldn't keep me
Oh, you took me home, I thought you were gonna keep me
"I'm proud of you, sweetie." You mother smiled at you across the table, reaching across the table to squeeze you hand before picking her fork up again. The proud smile never left her face. Your first heartbreak feels the worst for most people, the tears, the overthinking- scenarios running through your head of what you could've done to make her leave it what you could've done to make her stay. But you got over it. You're trying to heal and she couldn't be more proud.
Bye, bye, baby
Bye, bye, baby

I Wanna Be Yours || Part 5

Part 4 | part 6
↝a/n: I don't want to hear a single thing about the French being wrong. I had to use Google so blame it. Anyway, sorry this is late, been very busy and been stressing.
↝pairing: Robin Buckley x fem!Wheeler!reader

Robin couldn't help but admire you as you caught your breath.
Writing a decent essay in French wasn't going to be easy, which is why this is the 3rd day in a row Robin had invited you over after school to finish the partnered project.
To be honest, the essay was long forgotten. You two were just going through phrases in French at this point. Well, Robin was teaching you more French. You just couldn't wrap your head around it, no matter how hard you tried.
After you were paying so much attention to her mouth and the way it moved, you couldn't help but find it so hilarious, and in turn, Robin began laughing too.
It was probably around 9 by now, and you two had barely any of the paper done, but you kept wanting to hear her talk. For educational purposes, obviously.
"tu es belle." (you're beautiful) Robin wasn't worried about you knowing what she was saying. It honestly felt freeing to be able to admit thing openly, with you not knowing what it was she was saying.
She adored how you looked at her so confused, with your eyebrows furrowed. Her hand was practically shaking from not being able to lean forward and wipe the wrinkled skin away.
"tu es magnifique aujourd'hui" (you look beautiful today) She kept teasing you.
"Are you going to tell me what you're saying?"
"No, i don't think i will."
You smiled, basking in how comfortable you felt around her at that moment. You wish it could stay like this. Neither of you broke eye contact as she continued, "Tes yeux brillent si joliment aujourd'hui. Le ciel nocturne devrait être jaloux." (Your eyes are shining so beautifully today. The night sky should be jealous.)
"I should probably pay more attention in class." You chuckled, looking down at your lap, fiddling with the cover of the notebook. Robin was back to admiring you and your blushing cheeks.
"You're cute." Robin's smile dropped; her whole being scared of what she just said... out loud...to the person she'd fancied for what felt like forever. She wanted to disappear right then and there.
"What?" You glanced up from your notebook, still smiling- as if you hadn't heard what she had said.
"I said you look like a fruit." Pushing away the feeling of wanting to kick herself for her stupidity on the situation, the choice of words had her internally spiraling. What kind of answer was that? You certainly do not look anything like a fruit.
"That doesn't even make sense."
"Well I'm sleep deprived." She pulled her blanket closer to her, wrapping it around her body to find any comfort. "And it's tu ressembles à un fruit."
After a moment, you nodded, before standing up and gathering your stuff. "It's getting late."
"Yeah-yeah, uh," She flung the blanket off, standing to help you gather everything sprawled across her bed and floor. "I guess we lost track of time."
"Yeah." Flinging your backback over your shoulder, you pointed at her door. "I can show myself out. You need to be getting ready for bed- wouldn't want to keep you up any later."
"A-alright. yeah, bye. be careful." She stayed standing in that spot even after you closed her bedroom door.
She was not sleeping tonight; she already knew that much. She'd stay up all night thinking about you. And how you looked when you smiled or laughed. A joyous sight and sound, really.
•••••
Your leg shook from nerves. "Can you stop? You're shaking the car."
Nancy glared at you from the rearview mirror.
Digging your nails into your thigh, you stopped them from shaking anymore. "Sorry."
Robin glanced back, noting your nervousness. "It's going to be okay." Her voice was barely over a whisper.
"What if it's not? Two of our friends have already died because of this Vecna creep. We have no way to contact Mike or any of the Byers. What if something is happening up there too? I mean, they should've called by now. Mike promised he would call when he got up there-"
"We haven't been home, y/n."
"I was! He didn't call all of yesterday."
"He's having fun with his friend and girlfriend. Calm down."
Robin's eyes went back and forth between you and Nance. You were usually calm, or made it seem that way. Ever since you woke up in a frenzy, you had seemed on edge.
"What if he's not?" You whispered one last time, as Nancy pulled up to the school.
"We don't have time to think about that right now. Come on."
"It was here. Right here." Max was almost hysterical as she kept repeating the same thing over and over since you ran into the school. She kept talking about a grandfather clock in the wall.
If you were anyone else, you would be calling her crazy, maybe even making a phone call to the nearest psych ward.
"A grandfather clock?" Nancy almost seemed bored as she asked.
"It was so real and then, when i got closer, suddenly I just...I woke up."
"It was like she was in a trance or something." Dusting spoke, "Exactly like Eddie said happened to Chrissy." A cold hill went down your spine, causing goosebump to make your arm hair stand up. Folding your arms over your chest, you continued to pay attention.
Max turned around. "That's not even the bad part."
"Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Miss Kelley for help." You looked at the files on the desk. "Uh, they both were having headaches- bad headaches that wouldn't go away. And then- then the nightmares. Trouble sleeping. They'd wake up in a cold sweat. And then they started seeing things. Bad things...from their past." The desk lowly creaked as you leaned against it, giving Max your full attention. "And these visions-- they just kept getting worse and worse, until eventually...everything ended." Your eyes shot down to the ground.
What were you to do about all of this? This is too much for this group that consisted of teens and young adults. Before, you had El. But now, she was in California, without any powers.
Robin's voice broke you out of your thoughts that were running a mile a second. "Vecna's curse."
"Chrissy's headache started a week ago."
"She kept asking for medicine almost every time I saw her." She had taken nearly 2/3 of your medicine on your side table.
"Fred's started 6 days ago." The blood from you biting your lip tasted salty and like metal. "I've been having them for 5 days."
The air in the room became stale, almost like the air fell flat. "I don't know how long i have. All i know is that, for Fred and Chrissy, they both died less than 24 hours after their first vision. And i just saw that goddamn clock, so," Max's breath became uneven, "Looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow."
A loud click made you jump and turned to where the sound came from.
"Stay here." Steve looked at you guys, before walking towards the door. Before he opened it, he grabbed the lamp.
Not listening, you all stood and walked after him, through the dark school halls.
You could hear his uneven breathing from where you were. Or maybe that was you. You couldn't really tell at this point.
The sound continued as you walked behind Steve. It clattered, almost sounding like rapid running.
It grew louder until something came around the corner. Everyone screamed, Steve held the lamp up, going to strike, as your arms went up in the air, flashlight clattering to the floor as you turned on your heels, going to grab the nearest person. no matter how much you tried to move, your feet stayed in place, causing you to double over and fall onto your knees, bringing the person with you.
"It's me!"
"Lucas?!"
"It's me!" Lucas looked as if he was about to cry. You would too if you had nearly gotten beaten to death by a lamp.
"Holy shit!" You fell back onto your butt, facing the scene.
"Jesus!" Steve yelled, bringing the lamp back down to his side. "What is wrong with you, Sinclair?!"
Lucas tried to catch his breath with his hands on his hips, nearly doubling over. "I'm sorry."
Robin, who you had taken down with you, stood and held her hand out to help you up. You held up your finger, "I need a second." You might've peed yourself a little.
"I could've taken you out with this lamp!" Steve shook the lamp in his grip, furious.
"Sorry, guys." Lucas continued to pant, "Sorry. I was...I was biking for eight miles."
Grabbing Robin's hand, you let her pull you up.
"Give me a second. Shit." Lucas continued to pant through his words, "We've got a code red."
"What?"
"Dustin," He walked forward, "I've been with Jason, Patrick, and Andy, and they've gone, like, totally off the rails. They're trying to capture Eddie, and they think you know where he is." He spoke as fast as he could while also trying to breath. "You're in terrible danger."
"Alright. Yeah, that definitely sucks, but we've got bigger problems than Jason right now." Dustin looked back and Max, Lucas following him.
After Nancy and Robin came up with the plan about being Ruth and Rose, your leg went back to shaking and your teeth went back to biting into your lip, taking chunks out.
While everyone was getting a little bit of shut eye last night, you were wide awake. There wasn't really a thought that took up more space in your head than the other 10 thousand. Every time you tried to shut your eyes, Chrissy's face was painted on the back of your eyelids. Sometimes, you could hear her screams when you tried to tune out Steve's snoring. Max hadn't gone to bed, she stayed sitting at the desk, writing. What, you hadn't gotten a clue.
Right now, Steve was following Nancy after he had been stuck on babysitting duty yet again.
"Nancy, you're outta your mind if you think I'm babysitting again." Coming out of your room, you pulled the new, clean clothes closer to your body and walked after him into her room.
"Okay, first of all, they're not babies anymore. And Max is in real danger."
Steve scoffed at her as you plopped on her bed, wrinkling her made bed.
"She needs people around her."
"I know. But why does it always have to be me?"
"Y/n is here too." Nancy reminded, pointing at you.
"Oh my god, you have a Tom Cruise poster." Robin walked into the room, going staight for the poster and side table. "You have a Tom Cruise poster." She turned and smirked at Nancy, who was going through her closet.
"Thats...old.. It's just.."
Robin laughed before digging into the table,
"Can you please not touch anything?"
You leaned over, looking at whatever Robin was going through.
"I just- i can't do anything here, Nance. Maybe i can be helpful with this asylum director dude. I dunno. I could turn on my...my charm."
"Not the charm we need."
"Ouch."
"No, i just," Nancy sighed, stepping away from the closet. You followed Robin with your eyes as she stood and moved to the dresser. "I did a little digging last night, and it turns out this Dr. Hatch is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Harvard visiting scholar, okay? This is a life long student of the world. If we're going to win him over, we're gonna have to convince him we are too."
Robin opened the music box that laid on top of the dresser, music softly played as Nancy continued to talk, softening the blow. "That, like him, we are true academic scholars."
"Holy shit." Robin whispered, turning around to show the music box. "There's a little ballerina in here." She bit her lip.
Looking away, you tried to hide the pink on your cheeks. She was so cute.
Steve began nodding his head, turning back to Nancy. "Academic scholar. She's giving you an academic scholar vibe? Yeah."
Rolling her eyes, Robin closed the box, putting it back.
"No, but..." Robin scoffed, turning around. "She will."
Nance held up a pink dress.
"Oh, please tell me that you're joking."
"They're not answering."
Sighing, you slammed the phone back into the wall.
"They're probably out."
"You said that for the last 4 calls. It's been over an hour."
Dustin walked over, "Y/n, Mike is probably out having fun with El and Will. Please, calm down."
"Yeah," Sighing again, you plopped back into the couch, "Yeah, you're probably right."

Robin stomped down the stairs, making a beeline for the front door. "Robin, wait!" She didn't stop until you took hold of her hand, her pinky slipping from your grip, as she turned around. "What?"
You knew she was mad. You would be too. She had every right to be mad at you and take her anger out on you. Anything if she just stayed.
"Please just-"
"I wish I never met you."
Your eyes shot up from her shoes to her eyes, where all the pretty green-blue particles were dancing around. Except now, the particles were dancing as if they were sad. The life that is usually behind her eyes, was dull. Something that tugged at your heart strings.
"You don't mean that." Your voice slightly quivered, hope and hurt intertwined with your words. She didn't say anything, didn't even look up from the ground.
"Robin, you have to believe me when I say I'm not embarrassed by you. You're the best thing to ever happen to me." Reaching out, your palm make contact with her jaw, gently moving it up to connect your eyes. "I'm just scared."
Robin felt as if her heart fell out of her ass. The last of your whispered words causing her eyebrows to furrow. "Why?"
"Rob, you know how people are around here; they can be cruel."
Although Robin understood, she was still hurt. You said she was 'just a friend'. Yeah, that might not seem like something that should hurt as much as it does, but Robin just thought that you two were over that part in the relationship. It had been almost 7 months. She was just now getting to show PDA Infront of Steve. STEVE of all people. She knew you weren't embarrassed of who you are, or of her, she was just tired.
"You're not just a friend, you know that. You're my world, as cheesy as that sounds. I am forever grateful for you."
Sighing, she found the paint-chipped walls oddly entertaining. "I don't want to rush you, you can come out to your parents on your own time. I'm just very tired of having to hide us. I don't want to just be 'one of your friends'. I'm your girlfriend and I want to be able to act like one."
"You can. I promise you, I'll tell them. I'll tell them and I won't even care how they respond. We'll be able to do whatever the hell we want. Okay?"
She slowly nodded, looking away from the wall. "I'll be here with you the whole way."
You brought your hand up, caressing her face, before bringing it closer. "I know. I don't deserve you."
Smiling against your lips, she said "I know."
