seriously, we as a collective NEED to drop the growth mechanic from survival games, it adds no immersion to gameplay, nothing, yknow what it does? punish players who are just casual players who cant spend HOURS on growing a character, punishes an entire group of player to fend off for themselves if one of their members died and now they have to start off from a baby again, its not fun seriously, who the hell has fun in having to hide in a bush idle for literal hours over and over again just so you have the chance to do something?

Taur, he's a soft, gentle spoken mech from the beast wars era. About the size of TFP knockout. He's poofy, friendly and rather quiet. Introverted, keeps to himself, isn't really the type to know how to make friends, and honestly he needs to get out more. Plus, you know exactly how poofy this guy is lmao ❤️

Hotline is a pretty extroverted and expressive ex-racer, the opposite of Taur’s introverted personality. They would likely meet someplace that’s pretty populated, like a bar or club (maybe Taur was encouraged to go out to one of these places by someone he knows or something) and Hotline might be a bit much for him to handle. He’s loud, energetic, and talks a lot.

Hotline would think Taur is a pretty neat looking guy, complimenting his appearance and his floofiness, offering to buy him a drink or snacks at the same time. He might unintentionally end up forcing Taur into a friendship with him tbh. He’s kinda weird like that.

Look all I want is a super-realistic multiplayer PvE survival/exploration sandbox game with all of the character customization options where I play a time-traveling colonist in Maastrichtian Laramidia and I progress in the game by observing the fauna and collecting samples for scientists and stuff and live in a sweet secluded cabin and also I can be left handed and customize my various guns and tools and stuff and the animals all act like real animals and not video game monsters, is that so much to ask.

#granted. saurian started early access around 2017 so its definitely newer #but ive been following it since then #theyre so committed to getting it to be scientifically accurate #plus you can play as one of my main #fuck idk what it is #its me for sure #ive never felt as much joy playing a game as walking around in the early access in 2018 with my shitty laptop about to explode #trying to render a recreation of my home and territory #its also definitely influenced my perception of myself #the white feathers started around whenever i saw saurians dakotaraptors #i was always a dakotaraptor but that felt more right than the dull browns id usually see #an animal that can talk

Modern Video Games:

PaleoPines is objectively fun

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is surprisingly good (and accuracy mods are a must)

Prehistoric Kingdom has a problematic past (but it's not like the other two don't), but it's shaping up to be a great game too (it's still in progress)

If we're including birds, which of course we should, Planet Zoo is... well, there are more birds now then there used to be. And mods add even more!!! I'm big on modding games what can I say.

Holotype is GREAT. I mean, it's basically a "my job" simulator so I can't play it all the time, but it's great

Fossilis is this great little obscure game that my spouse and I have fun with, it's kind of like holotype but different, it's fun

Puzzles and Toys:

EUGYS ARE AMAZING -> GET EUGYS NOW. NOW NOW NOW. EUGYYYYYSSSS

The Wingspan Puzzles are also fun

Safari has the best dinosaur toys

CreativeBeast has had... ethical issues. but the toys are cool.

CollectA Has great toys too
