I'm about to throw stones but when people my age say "I don't like these Gen Z teenage tone indicators. How am I supposed to MEMORIZE all these new abbreviations? '/nm'? '/lh'? I hate it." it sounds utterly indistinguishable from our parents being like "I don't get this text speak. 'omg'? 'lol'? SAY what you mean! Don't abbreviate!" Like I dunno how to tell you that evolving language involves... learning the evolved parts of language.
I understand like 4 tone indicators and I'm frequently confused but I support it. It's honestly a good solution to tone lost over text imo. I'm ancient and my bones are full of dust but I'll figure it out.

Bruce after yelling at all his kids, now turning to Jason specifically: And anoth-
Jason: You ever raise your voice at me again, and I'll start a gang war so elaborate and large scale that you'll be forced to call in the Justice League.
Bruce:
Jason: And I'll do it whilst you're in the middle of an ultra important WE meeting, too.

the thing i feel people don't really take enough into account when it comes to arthur's supposed obliviousness regarding merlin's magic is that merlin is the absolute opposite of what arthur has been raised to believe sorcerers to be. merlin is clumsy and kind and - in the earlier seasons - like walking sunshine. he so obviously has negative desire for actual power, nor any respect for it, and while arthur absolutely knows that merlin isn't stupid, he 100% is an idiot.
and it's not stupid or ignorant on his part! people just do this, whenever they are taught someone who does or believes a certain thing is inherently evil! it's never the friendly guy next door who snacks half of your breakfast and then just grins when you complain, obviously not! arthur trusts merlin even early on, and beyond belief later on. of course merlin can basically do magic in front of him, because there is no part of arthur that actually thinks someone like merlin could have magic. you don't see what you're 100% convinced can't be there. if he ever got there, his already brittle construct of indoctrination and supposed repeated confirmation of said construct would crumble immediately! as it does in dotd after like, a day. it only doesn't in regards to morgana because as far as arthur is concerned, the moment she started using magic she became the cold and ruthless enemy he still couldn't bring himself to actually pursue! like.
it's very easy to think it's startingly oblivious, but one thing i really wish people would keep in mind a little more is that the viewer watches from a different point of view, and operates with a whole other set of information. that arthur operates under a certain worldview in an environment that does not teach to question it at all, and gives little opportunity to do so. it's actually wild arthur questions uther's teachings as often as he does, and considering that every time he does, they, to his knowledge, just get confirmed again (nimueh, morgause, morgana, uther's death, and so on and so forth), it's even wilder that he keeps doing it

i'm just imagining what it must have been like being havoc in that hospital room after the Lust fight. like, you've just discovered homunculi exist and that your ex(?) girlfriend was one, and then she stabbed you. you're still processing that one because you know in a creeping realisation sort of way that it's Really Bad. meanwhile your CO who also got stabbed but proceeded to Burn Himself Alive in order to save your life, his life and everyone else's lives (by k wording your girlfriend) is in the bed next to yours.
and you're just laying there, listening as your coworker, who's the most steady, level headed person you know, confesses to your CO that she heard he was dead and just. had a complete and utter breakdown. just gave up utterly on life and was ready to let the homunculus kill her dead. because she wasn't willing to go on living if your CO wasn't alive. like, what do you even do with that?
oh yeah, and as you're laying there real quiet pretending you don't exist, your CO's response to this is basically "ok don't do it again." i mean really, what do you even do with that???

maybe unpopular opinion but probably one of the least useful pieces of advice I've ever got as an auDHD person to the question of "how tf does one make friends" was to go and join clubs/groups that do hobbies I enjoy. Not only does this not actually answer the question of how to make friends (yknow, how to approach people, how to start a conversation, how to appear friendly enough that they don't immediately reject you for existing, how to actually keep them as friends later on, etc), but also the chance of me choosing to force myself into the discomfort of "making smalltalk with random strangers" is absolutely nonexistent when the alternative of engaging with a hyperfixation is not only socially acceptable but even encouraged

very frustrating being a transgender/queer person of color in online queer communities whenever they're so white centric. you look up "transmasc haircuts" and it is mostly all white people with straight hair. "trans girl name ideas" and it is all names with european or [white]american origin. you are expected to remove your connection to religion[99% of the time referring to Christianity] after discovering queerness, which... Is alienating to people who practice native faiths, hinduism, islam, etc. calling black femmes aggro masc because they do not fit the white idea of femininity. passing tips often pertain to white people. the idea of nonbinary being thin white person with short hair excludes so many people. white people in online queer communities use their status of being gay or transgender to ignore the fact that they are capable of being racist just because "they're oppressed too." it is so irritating

Nah because I do actually wish more people would recognize that Mu Qing never lacked confidence or belief in himself. What he struggled with was trusting other people to value/trust/want/love him. He never thought less of himself over his background he just assumed everyone else did.
