What's Meant to Be Masterlist
That Sunday, the air feels heavy with anticipation as you make your way to the club. Usually you feel comfortable walking to work alone, but this evening., the streets seem a little bit scarier than usual.
Your nerves are on edge, and it's all you can do to keep moving forward. After Friday night with that client, you've become more cautious.
As you're about to cross the street, you hear a voice calling your name. Your eyes dart in its direction, and you spot Sayuri waving her hand.
"Hey," she smiles, walking over to you. "What are you doing here? You're usually not this early."
"Takao said he wanted to talk to me," you explain, not bothering to mention that you also got a new job at the cafe.
"Oh, okay," she nods.
"Why are you here so early?" you then ask.
"Look at me, Y/N, I basically just rolled out of bed. I need to do my hair, makeup, and put on my outfit before my shift starts. So I came early," she shrugs.
"Right," you say, nodding your head. "I guess I should probably do the same. See you inside."
"Yeah, see you."
When you step through the doors, the music is blaring and there's already a good amount of customers inside. You walk over to the manager's suite and knock on the door.
"Come in," a voice calls out.
"Hey," you greet him as you step into the room.
"Ah, Y/N, just the girl I was looking for," he says with a small smile. "I wanted to talk to you about the other night," he begins, his tone serious as he gestures for you to take a seat.
"I'm sorry, sir, I-"
"You have nothing to apologize for," he shakes his head. "In fact, I should be the one apologizing. I was the one who booked you, and I was the one who was supposed to watch over the clients. So, I am sorry, Y/N."
"Thank you, sir. That means a lot to me."
"I shouldn't have had you go off with that guy. It wasn't my intention to put you in that spot," he admits, his voice soft.
"It's okay, sir," you nod. "If you don't mind, I'd like to get ready for my shift."
"Of course, I'll leave you to it. If anything else happens, please, come to me first," he says.
"Yes, sir," you nod. "I will."
Just as you reach the doorknob, he calls out to you once more. "Oh, I almost forgot. I banned the client. He won't be allowed back."
"Thank you," you smile, before leaving the room.
As you make your way to the dressing rooms, Sayuri comes up to you again.
"Hey, how'd it go with Takao?" she asks you.
"It was good. He just wanted to check in."
"He did? That's good," she replies. "God, I swear you're like his favoritest person ever. He never talks to me about anything."
"Sorry," you shrug, trying to play it cool.
"No, it's okay. Honestly, as long as I'm not in trouble with him, I don't really care."
"I get that," you nod. "Well, I'm going to go change and get ready for tonight."
"Alright, see ya," she smiles.
As you walk away, you can't help but feel a sense of relief. You're glad Takao isn't upset with you, and even more grateful that the guy won't be coming back.
KITA'S P.O.V.
Sunday night I find myself at Atsumu's house, surrounded by the familiar laughter of my friends. Some of the guys are engrossed in a competitive game, their shouts and cheers echoing through the small space. Suna and I take charge of ordering pizza, making sure that everyone's preferences are taken into account because if not, we both know that there's going to be hell to pay.
After receiving the pizzas from the delivery man, we return to the room. Atsumu hands each of us a cold beer, the condensation beading on the bottles as he grins in satisfaction.
"This is the life," he chuckles. "No one else in the world can beat me."
Apparently, he had won the last round of whatever game they were just playing.
"Yeah, right," Osamu rolls his eyes, "you just got lucky. Don't get cocky."
As we settle back into the comfort of the couch, the topic of conversation drifts to the upcoming wedding. "So, anyone bringing a date to the wedding?" Atsumu asks, his gaze sweeping across the group.
"I am," Aran speaks up.
"Same here," Omimi adds.
"Are you?" Suna then asks Atsumu, raising an eyebrow.
"I might," he grins, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Really?" Suna scoffs. "Like who?"
"Like, you know," Atsumu says, lowering his voice. "Someone I met the other day."
"That's specific," Aran snorts.
"Hey, if I tell ya, it ruins the fun, ya know?"
"Jesus, Tsumu, didn't I tell you not to mess around with her?" Osamu sighs, shaking his head.
"Wait, is he talking about Y/N?" Aran asks.
"You can't invite her to the wedding, Tsumu," Omimi cuts in.
"Yeah, why not?" he asks, causing the whole group to look over at me.
"Uh, because..." Omimi trails off, not sure what to say.
"Because Kita likes her, idiot," Suna sighs.
"I do not," I roll my eyes.
"Do too," Osamu mutters under his breath.
"Why not ask her, Kita?" Aran then asks, looking over at me.
"Well, because..."
"It's not like he's her type, anyway," Atsumu smirks.
"How the hell would you know?" I glare at him.
"I'm just saying," he shrugs. "You never dated back when you were close."
"Look, I know it's up to you," Aran chimes in, "but if you like her, you should ask her."
"That's pretty serious, though, don't you think?" Suna chimes in.
"So what if it is?" Aran questions. "We're all adults, aren't we? Besides, it's not like they just met."
"True, and," Osamu pauses, shooting his brother a look, "if you bring her then Atsumu can't."
"Aw, come on, Samu," Atsumu whines.
"I agree," Omimi nods. "I think Kita should ask her."
"Alright, fine, I'll ask her," I finally give in.
"Nice!" Aran cheers.
"Thanks, Kita," Osamu chuckles.
"Whatever," I mutter, shaking my head. I still don't think I'll have the nerve to actually ask her, but the guys are relentless. We'll see how it goes.

Happy Holidays! For your mini-fic giveaway, I'd like to see one with the TLM Lightning Mist AU (the one where Sayuri ends up in Naruto-world and unintentionally seduces the crap out of Sakumo). For the prompt, I'd love to see her interacting with the Rookie 9 generation, perhaps checking in on Kakashi's training of Team 7, with a look at how she has changed things in-universe with her presence. Thank you so much!
(In a world where Sakumo is the unquestioned hero of the shinobi world for defeating 'The Calamity, Ruiner of Villages, Destroyer of Worlds.' He was nominated for Hokage 3 times-- the only reason they stopped nominating him was because the most recent time they did, he marched over and slammed the Hokage hat down on Minato's head.
As for who knows the truth about Sayuri being 'The Calamity', it's a very well kept secret among Konoha's higher ups. Minato knows, Kushina knows, certain members of the Council know, and of course Sakumo and Kakashi know).
"Oh no," Iruka said faintly, face pale. "Oh, I'm going to die, aren't I? The Hokage is going to kill me."
"I'm afraid I don't understand what the issue is," Sayuri said, a slight downturn to her lips. "You asked me to help you with your lecture on Suna, did you not? I did as you requested. After all, who better to teach about Suna than someone who lives in Suna?"
"Did I just start a war?" Iruka wondered, clearly not hearing her. He looked on the verge of hyperventilating. "I-- how did you even-- why would you--"
"It's quite alright," the current source of Iruka's stress said smoothly. "Sayuri's an old friend. When she asked me for help-- well, how could I refuse?"
"Thank you, Sasori," Sayuri said, rewarding him with a tiny smile. "I do appreciate this, you know."
"I asked you to help me teach, not to bring an S-Class Suna shinobi into my classroom!" Iruka wailed. "I just-- Akasuna no Sasori? Do you have any idea the kind of incident this could cause? The diplomatic nightmare you've put me in?"
"He offered to teach the kids about basic puppetry and Suna cuisine," Sayuri defended herself.
"Poison, my dear. The word you're looking for is poison," Sasori interjected, tone slightly amused.
"Exactly, Suna cuisine." Sayuri turned back towards Iruka. "Besides, you didn't complain when I brought Kisame-san in to teach about Kirigakure on that day you were out sick."
"You did what?!"
(As for how the Rookie-9 views Sayuri-- they were pretty intimidated by her at first, but quickly warmed up to her once they realized she plans the coolest field trips and brings in the most awesomest ninja guests ever-- usually without official approval, but what Minato doesn't know won't hurt him. She's kind of like the Ms. Frizzle of the Naruto world to them.
Sayuri met Sasori on one of her many trips to Suna. They have a bit of a weird friendship-- he takes it as a personal challenge to create a poison that can take her out, and in return for the free supply of delicious spices, she ignores his periodic attempts to kill her/turn her into a puppet. Sakumo would heavily disapprove if he knew about it, which is why this is one of the few secrets she keeps from him.)

A gruff sigh catches your attention and your gaze shifted in response, meeting a certain handsome ravenette’s visage. A breeze ran through his slicked-back hair—courtesy of the convertible you’re currently sitting on. Slightly veined hand sat atop of the steering wheel—his ring-accessorized fingers mindlessly tapping a rhythm, somehow obscuring the noises of engines surrounding you.
“You’re quiet today.” Sakusa glances at your form before shifting his focus back on the busy, densely-packed road, “Are you nervous?”
You? Nervous? That’s rich coming from him. He should be the one feeling on edge after the revelation, but you’re not planning to let him know about the betrayal anytime soon. Besides, you’re not letting them off the hook that easily. You’re not angry by any means, but last time you checked, you’re not a stepping tool for their ego.
“A little bit.” The lie freely escapes your mouth, “It's my first time after all.”
He hums, “Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.”
The traffic light flickers to green. The engine revved; a short notification before it speeds up through the now empty road. The sudden movement yanks your body back—a gasp escapes your lips as you held onto your untied hair—praying that it won’t get messed up with how fast the car is going.
A breathy exhale—one you would hear when a certain someone suppresses his laugh—entered your ears. Half of his face might be hidden with a mask, but the slight raise of his brow isn’t going to fool you.
So much for making sure you’re fine.
“My bad.” He says, an unusual playful tone lacing his voice, “We were going to be late.”
“If my hair is ruined, I won’t hesitate to sue you.” You scoff, earning another breathy chuckle from the man, “What’s so funny?”
“You would still look good with messy hair.”
“And you thought that would stop me from suing you?”
This time, a snicker rang through the air, “Fair enough. What do you want?”
He seems weirdly cheery tonight, don’t you think? Your brain would’ve toppled over from your skull from his response if it wasn’t for your knowledge of his intentions. You hate to admit it, but Sakusa Kiyoomi—or pretty asshole number three (courtesy of Sayuri)—is attractive, and has everything he needs to make you embarrass yourself from sheer nervousness.
Well, would have had.
The you that they’ve interacted with so far was a mere professional façade. You were simply trying to be polite and nice, but clearly, things have taken an unexpected turn—an unwelcome one at that. Maybe you’ll follow through, sticking to the imaginary shy, pliant and quiet image of yours; but they’re starting to get on your nerves. Maybe you should get something out of them, you know?
“You, probably.”
Huh.
He couldn’t find any hints of playfulness in your voice. His undivided attention is on you now, staring at you in amusement, questioning your sudden change of demeanor.
“Probably?”
Amusement is apparent in his voice. He leans back, resting his arms around your seat as he cranes his neck, his sharp jaw and tinted ears on a full display for your eyes. Though, his black irises caught your gaze and you mentally slap yourself out of your trance.
You didn’t even realize that you’ve arrived at the venue. You cough, pretending that you hadn’t been staring. The soft murmurs and flashes of camera grounds you to reality; celebrity photographers lining up around the expensive cars in the parking lot. Why didn’t he go to the basement parking lot, anyways?
“Was just looking around.” You say, ignoring the nagging thought in your head screaming to you that someone had probably caught a picture of you staring at him. God damn this car.
“So?”
“So what?”
“Why probably?”
“Oh, you’re still on that?” You tease, his remarks easing your nervousness, “Did you know that overthinking is bad for your health?”
“Tsk.” He rolls his eyes, “You’re going to be the death of me.”
He unbuckles his seatbelt, exiting the car as he walks to your side, extending his hand as you unbuckled yours. Now that he is standing in front of you, his outfit is actually much more simpler than you think it is. Maybe its how he is built, but the way his black turtleneck clung into his figure makes you a bit reluctant to meet his eyes. An equally dark suit jacket was layered on top of the shirt; only one button was buttoned, and it looks like it was about to fall off.
Tumblr media
“Quit staring. We’re going to be late.” He grins underneath his mask, noticing the way your eyes shyly scans his figure, “You’ll have time to stare later.”
“Oh, shut up.” You retaliated, throwing your gaze practically on anything but the man whose hand is holding yours,
“Right.” The knowing look in his eyes gives you a sudden urge to bury yourself six feet under the ground, away from society.
“I take it that you want me to pretend that you hadn’t been staring at me?”
God knows you’re suffering right now.
Tumblr media
A/N: i just know sakusa would nvr bother to put any contact pictures on any of his colleagues’ contacts cause why would he-

The Gods are Always Watching
Chapter Three: I Love Democracy
Tumblr media
A groan passed through your lips as you rubbed your temples, a headache beginning to take form in your skull. Midōba and Mizuki’s -albeit hushed- bickering could be heard along with Ataiyo’s quiet pleads for the two hardheaded females to stop arguing before they got lectured. You rolled your (e/c) eyes, holding onto your usual emotionless expression.
Standing in front of the squad of cheerleaders, clad in crimson track shorts and black gym shirts with “Inarizaki Cheer Squad” across the chests in white, you placed your hands on your hips. “Flyers, take position with your spotters and bases. Four to a group, spotter in the back, bases to the sides forming a triangle and flyers in the middle. We’ve done this before. You don’t need me to coddle you, right?” You asked, instantly being met with a chorus of soft yet determined “Yes ma’am!”’s.
Smiling faintly to yourself, you turned to your group. Bases, Mizuki and Ataiyo stood on either sides of Midōba, who was your spotter for the day. The ginger grinned, placing her manicured hands on her plump hips. “Ready to practice with the best group on the team?” She sent you a wink, making Mizuki grin foxishly at her. “Sure Midōba, we would be the best but you’re with us.” She teased the shorted half-Japanese woman who made a sound of indignation at the dark haired girls comment. Ataiyo sighed softly, wrapping her small arms around herself as you shook your head. “Girls please, you’re upsetting the baby.” She frowned, making Midōba and Mizuki whip their heads towards her with wide eyes. “What baby?!” They screeched in unison. Ataiyo huffed a soft “Me.” Making you laugh quietly. They turned to you, the redhead pouting fiercely. “Captain! That’s not funny.” She whined.
“It was though-“ Your face brightened significantly at the sound of Kazashi’s soulful voice, turning around to smile faintly at the VBC Manager. “Kazashi.” You hummed, making the mocha skinned student grin. “(Y/n).” She replied making you snort. “Shouldn’t you be managing your team?” You teased lightly, causing her to laugh. “Nah- they’ll be fine. I doubt the Miya’s are gonna brawl today. Besides, I wanted to come say hi to my favorite cheerleader.” She hummed, and if you squinted, you could swear a twinge of a blush dusted her cheekbones. “And introduce ya to the team of course.” Midōba shot her a look, almost as if saying ‘what are you doing?’ Kazashi shot her one back. ‘Trust me’. The pumpkin haired girl walked over to Kazashi, gently grabbing her arm with a smile that didn’t reach her clover hues. “Before ya do that, one second please. I need to talk to Himiko-Chan real quick.”
There was no time to argue before Midōba dragged the taller dark-skinned woman away, frowning intensely. You tilted your head, locks of (h/c) brushing against your face before turning to Ataiyo and Mizuki, who looked oddly uncomfortable. “What was that about?” They simply shrugged. “I’ll go make sure nothing gets out of hand, ya know how Midōba is-“ Mizuki laughed nervously, jogging away from you and the smaller, sunny haired teen.
Tumblr media
Kazashi frowned as Midōba tugged her to the other side of the gym, the side where the boys were resting after a practice set. “What the fuck are you doing, Himiko?” She seethed, not caring if the boys team could hear her. Midōba was a fierce woman, clear by the Irish or Scottish in her veins. She was hotheaded and brash, but beneath all that she was caring. And right now, she was worried about Kazashi’s intentions. Suna tilted his head as Mizuki approached the two girls, an irritated tick evident on her forehead. “Oh no-“ the dark haired teen muttered, olive eyes squinting.
His comment caused Atsumu to look over at him, following his gaze to the two cheerleaders and their captain. “What’s happening? A cat fight? That’s hot-“ He whistled, hissing as Osamu smacked him upside the head. Suna ignored to two bickering twins, standing to his full height and walking over to the small group with his hands in the pockets of his gym sweats. “What’s going on?” He muttered, watching as the two females glared at each other, Mizuki only offering a grunt in response.
“What do you mean what am I doing?” Kazashi asked, playing stupid. “I mean— what do you think you’re doing, introducing (Y/n) to the team-“ The ginger hissed, poking her finger into the taller girls chest. “Look— if he’s her soulmate, maybe we should let them actually interact. If they figure out they’re soulmates on their own, maybe it’ll be easier and *quicker* to get them together rather than if we told them ourselves.” Kazashi explained, exasperatedly. Midōba gaped at her. “You literally told us not to tell either of them, that they couldn’t find out?? Now you’re having a change of heart???” She yelled, wincing as a few of the team members glanced over at them. “I know what I said— but I take it back. I just… I want her to be happy… and if we told her ourselves or kept her from finding out herself… she won’t be happy.”
The manager was referring of course to you, looking over Midōba’s shoulder at you and Ataiyo who were helping the first years with their cartwheels. Her expression was soft, and upon seeing it something clicked in Mizuki’s brain. “Oh my god, ya’ve totally got the hots fer (Y/n).” Suna beat his soulmate to it, his genuinely surprised tone and words causing Kazashi’s breath to hitch, the ginger beside her gasping. “No! I-“ She paused taking a deep breath and lowering her volume. “I don’t think that’s it… I don’t know but… look let’s just drop it okay?” Mizuki sighed, shaking her head. “Fine, we’ll do it your way but if this is a bust I’m totally kicking your ass.”
Tumblr media
Notes:
Kazashi is unsure whether or not she does harbor more than platonic/friendly feelings for (Y/n). She’s also in denial with her own sexuality. She’s been attracted to women before, but never actually admitted to it.
Kazashi is African-Japanese. Specifically her mother is of Kenyan/Jamaican descent and her father is Japanese. They met overseas and held a long distance relationship for four years before her mother moved to Japan and they got married. Kazashi’s middle name is actually Zawadi.
A bit more about soulmate marks. (: Kazashi’s mark is a needle and thread. Ataiyo’s is a triangular Onigiri. Midōba is the number 13 (which freaks her out, because she’s too lucky for such an omen.) Syrīn’s is a lab beaker, Sāiren a console controller of some sort. There’s a lot more soulmate marks too, a lot of which are pictures saved to Sayuri and Keiji’s phones.
It is possible for a person to have two soulmates. Polyamorous soulmate relationships aren’t as uncommon as one may think. Two boys at Aoba Johsai share a soulmate in fact. Polyamorous soulmate marks usually present themselves in threes, fours, etc. so one person has a two marks one for each soulmate’s interest, one of their soulmate’s will have two marks, one for each interest, and so on.

Sayuri: Seriously, Naruto, why the fuck are you trying to make yourself the messiah especially for the corrupted fascist shitfest village, and make everything about you?!
Naruto: BECAUSE I FUCKING HATE MY JOB!!! I realize that Konoha is no different that Suna or Kiri (Sand and Mist) or any Great Nation Villages at doing the things they done. All the things they destroyed. Homes, dreams, lives, and if it means they can make a few more money or gain more power, the planet will probably be next! Look, I know how bad Konoha is but it's the only thing I have left of my parents, the people need a better leadership in order to do the right thing, and not ruining the lives of others. I just can't sit by and let things like the previous wars or the Uchiha Massacre ever happening again. I want to be Hokage, not just for Konoha but for everyone who suffer through so much outside of our village, outside of our nation, and suffered because of the Great Nations especially ours. I don't want to look away and do nothing. That's why becoming Hokage is what I must do, and that's why I'm choosing to help Ame (Hidden Rain Village) and every victim.

I have never uploaded a full chapter before, only snippets, so this is quite exciting. I hope you enjoy. Love you. <3
100 Follower Celebration - send me a prompt!
This is nsfw. mdni.
who is Uchiha Sayuri? The basics.
Where are we in the grand story of Sayuri: After Kakashi could not give her a satisfactory answer to whether he'd support the persecution of the Konoha elders because of the Uchiha massacre, Sayuri left him and ran to meet the Mizukage instead. Kakashi went to Sunagakure too, to prepare for the upcoming 4th shinobi war.
Chapter 9: Encounters and Goodbye's
Kakashi walked up and down the little room they had given him in a guest house not far from the Kage tower in Suna. He tried to calm the nerves, ready himself for the task ahead. Tomorrow they’d go off to war, tomorrow the shinobi alliance would either take down the Akatsuki or it would be their end. One could only imagine the things Madara planned for the time after his victory. Kakashi, now no longer in the running for Hokage with Tsunade back up and working, had been named squad leader. The leader of the alliance was the Kazekage, Gaara, who was young, but headstrong. He had placed his trust onto Kakashi, vouched for him and put him into the running for Hokage in the first place. Now he had made him commander. Bizarre.
He put his gloves on a little table opposite of his bed and began to undress his jacket too. It was too difficult to keep the thoughts out of his head, swirling in circles around the people he cared about. At least Naruto was safe, away with Killerbee on a secret island and Gai and Tenzo were there too, as a protection squad. As far as Kakashi had heard Iruka would also be heading to this island to keep Naruto in check - if this was even possible. Kakashi had no doubt in his mind that Naruto would immediately try to escape if he heard about the fighting, so they really needed to pull out their greatest strength to keep him in place. Sakura would fight alongside him and take care of the wounded. She was so remarkably talented at medical ninjutsu that everything else would have been a loss for the alliance. Sai was out in a different division, but also doing his part. Kakashi marvelled at how well he had opened up.
But then there was Sasuke, his other student, who was doing god-knows-what now that Itachi had been killed and he had apparently left Akatsuki too. Where was he going and what side was he going to be on during the war. Kakashi sighed. One had to assume the worst about him really. This time he really needed to kill Sasuke probably. Not the half assed attempt he did before, when he had still been plagued with doubt. And then of course there was Sayuri.
After she had left Kakashi back in his own bed, utterly dumbfounded and stunned, she had not contacted him again. Nobody knew where she went. She’d not said goodbye to Shizune or Kurenai and even Kakashi’s half hearted attempt to talk to the Mizukage about it had failed. Once again she was just off and away out of his life as if she’d never been in it. Only that this time he was not chasing her to the borders of the land, this time he wasn’t going to try to find her to bring her back, this time he let her go. She was an adult after all and if her choice was to be away from him, then he had to respect that.
Still, it was painful to think about. He could only assume how little she must think of him, so easily tearing herself out of his arms and into the world, running after Madara. Surely he was lying to her, twisting her mind to join his cause, whatever the cause may be. Of course he had been right in telling her what had happened to her family and Sayuri had been right in her anger about it. Kakashi had wanted to give her what she requested, the retribution she felt her family deserved, but it was always out of his hands, even if he’d become Hokage. The roots of this issue went back deep into the history of Konoha itself and weeding it out would take years, if not decades. Of course, he would have tried. He should have told her he’d do his best, even if his best was maybe not enough.
A breeze found its way into his room through the wide opened window. The climate in the air of Suna was something Kakashi wasn’t used to and he hadn’t been sleeping well the last few days, which really wasn’t great considering the task ahead. He had no idea when he’d get to sleep in a bed again. If he would sleep in a bed again. Sighing he went into the little bathroom attached to his room. Time to take a bath, get the heat and the dirt and the worry off him and then try to sleep. It felt good to have water running down his chest and back. He felt exhausted, drained mentally. There was too much to worry about and now a squad to lead. How had he ever ended up here? Sometimes he wished he had died long ago.
When he exited the tub night had fallen over the village and with it the cold hat entered his room. Just a normal night in a desert. It was unbearably hot during the day and freezing cold at night. He had left his window open and could now feel the very cold air streaming in. Well, better than the heat. Kakashi slung a towel around his hip. For a moment he just remained with his eyes on his mirror image. The squared jaw, the different eyes, the scar on his face and the scars on his body. Maybe this fight would actually be bringing the end of it all, of this sorry existence he had carved out for himself. He put a mask back over his face, just in case. Who knew who might just drop in.
There was noise in the bedroom, his eyes immediately darted to the bathroom door. Someone was here and Kakashi just needed to feel for chakra a little to find out who had returned to him. He opened the door. Sayuri was standing next to the open window, her shoes still on her feet, eyes wandering over the clothes he had left on the little window side table. She had her back turned to him, braid falling long and black over her shoulder. He could not stop himself from feeling relief and a little elation at seeing her. Despite what had happened, he was glad to know she was well. And if she returned to him, maybe that meant she’d decided to fight on his side. “Look what the cat dragged in”, he said, his tone more icy than he had anticipated. Sayuri spun around and dropped the mask she had been holding between her fingers. Their eyes met each other. For a second he thought he could see her cheeks flush, but then her eyes narrowed again.
“Is it too hard for you to use doors?” Kakashi asked, walking out of the bathroom towards her. “Other people do it all the time.” Sayuri threw her shoulders up: “I think they are overrated.” She had dust on her face and hair, she must have been in Suna the entire day already. He could feel the cold anger at the core of his body. Again she had left him and again he was the last to know of her return. Resisting the urge to wipe it from her face he walked past her, towel tightly wrapped around him. “So you’ve decided I’m worth your time again, have you?” Why wasn’t she talking? What was she doing here anyway? “I heard you are headed to war tomorrow”, she finally said and Kakashi could hear the forced casual voice instantly. “You were declared commander or something. Congratulations.” He let his sharingan wander over her and did not reply. She waved with her hand: “I mean, you didn’t get to be the big boss after all, so you must be quite disappointed.”
This was like a flashback to the time she had come back to Konoha. When they had stood at the war memorial next to Obito’s name, he had tried to hold his composure, but she had kept pressing his buttons until the anger had boiled over. That Sayuri was trying it again, after all that had happened in the last few weeks ate at him. Maybe he’d been wrong. Maybe she’d never cared about him at all and just needed a place to sleep over. Maybe that is all it ever was. “Why are you here now?” Kakashi asked. “I heard the Kage would gather here, so I came to see my Lady Mizukage”, she replied, her eyes looking out of the window into the dark desert. So Mei had known Sayuri was around when he’d asked her the day before and lied to him. “Have you decided to fight on our side?” He wanted his voice to sound casual, but he could hear his own plea in them anyway. He desperately needed her to say yes. She shot right back: “Have the people that killed my entire clan been brought to persecution?”
“You never cared about your family! You’ve told me you felt nothing when you heard they died.” Kakashi’s chest was heaving in anger, he buried his nails in his palms to not jump at her, not again. He’d done it too many times since she re-entered his life. “So what?” Sayuri spat out. “It was not right and people should rot in jail for it.” Uchiha fires burn hot. Everybody used to say that when Kakashi was small. They have a rage, a love, a passion inside of them that is unmatched by any other big clan in the village. People feared them and loved them for it. “I agree with you, you know that”, he replied, teeth grinding against each other. It was not that he didn’t understand her and Sasuke’s need for justice, he had no power to give them that justice. “It’s not like I could give you that, you know. Even as Hokage I would be bound to certain conventions. I just- Would you have preferred that I lie to you? That I tell you I’ll take care of it even though I can not?”
Sayuri watched him out of her black eyes. They’d moved closer to each other, circling around one another like wild animals. She lifted her hand to his mask slowly, transfixed on his lips beneath them and Kakashi felt the stare deep within. Her fingers touched the fabric, pulling at it, but he pushed her hand away. No. He turned his head. The anger warmed up beneath his skin, bubbling dangerously at his core. “You can’t do this to me everytime” he said coldly and out of the corner of his eye he could see her hand hanging empty in the air. Sayuri’s eyelids were hanging low and somehow this increased the anger he felt on the inside. What was she being so sad about? “You can’t just - “ he tried to hold it together somehow, not to scream, who knew which other shinobi were walking across the hallways at this hour, “-just drop in and out of my life whenever you want. You can’t do that to me.”
“You’re not my commander”, Sayuri said mockingly, “I don’t report to you.” He turned around to her, his eyes meeting hers like a challenge. “Shut up.” Kakashi was not screaming, but the cold way in which he was speaking was almost as impactful. “You are just a brat. You’ve been one as a kid when you followed me everywhere and told me you’d marry me someday.” He stepped closer to her and she took a step back. There was red on her face now. “Then you disappear! For half my life I think you are dead! No message, nothing.” Sayuri opened her mouth to say something, but he cut her off. “And suddenly you are back from the dead, no apology, no explanation. I wouldn’t have sold you to your family. There was literally no reason to lie to me in the first place.”
Kakashi moved even closer to her, until she was trapped with her back to the wall. “I -I thought you might have warmed up to me a little since you’ve come back, I thought there was a moment…” His thoughts circled around her flushed cheeks and the kimono she’d worn and how she’d tasted when he’d kissed her. It seemed ages ago now. “But then you drop out again. Run away from me again. That is not fair to me, do you understand?” He could see Sayuri bite her lower lip. She wasn’t even arguing with him about his points. Eyes still locked onto hers he continued: “If- if you chose me, if you want me to be part of whatever your life is, then you have to settle for me too. You have to be content to be in my life too. I don’t want this.. Uncertainty.”
There was this part of him that longed to hear it. Why couldn’t Sayuri just say that she’d be by his side? Kakashi wanted her to. Chest still heaving from the confession he towered over her and waited for any kind of response. She’d fallen quiet, lips bitten bloody, flat hands pressed against the wall behind her. “Can you promise me that you won’t just drop out again?” he asked, feeling like a desperate child holding on to a lifeline. She let out a sharp breath and whispered “Kakashi…” instead of actually giving him a reply. The anger was hot at his throat again in an instant. She couldn’t promise him that, because she hadn’t decided yet. Because everything was still in the air for her. Which village she belonged to, which side in the war she wanted to fight on and if she’d stay with him, for now or forever. Sayuri’s hand moved to his mask again, his face just mere inches from hers and this time Kakashi let her take it down. Let her brush her thumb over his lips.
Their first kiss had been careful and soft, trying to slowly rip away a seal they’d put over their relationship ever since Sayuri had come back from the dead, but this time the innocence had all but gone. Kakashi almost crashed onto her, angry and furious and hot, and forced her tongue to do as he pleased, forcing her body to be pressed even flatter against the wall as he brushed up against her. She followed him without as much as a whimper, let him take off the shirt she was wearing and snap open the bra underneath. Kakashi could see in the way she was looking at him that she had yearned to kiss him again, maybe she’d wanted it the entire time they’d been together. He enjoyed the feeling of domination, of control, finally she couldn’t run from him.
Kakashi’s fingers ran down her breasts and pinched her nipples without ever letting go of Sayuri’s mouth. There was no opportunity for her to breathe and she crawled her fingers deep into the hair on his head. He grabbed behind her and touched over her ass, head down to bite her neck. She winced a little, but he was unrelenting, his tongue moving over her skin with fury. He opened the zipper at the back of her skirt and pulled it down. Sayuri tried to step out of it when it hit her ankles, but he didn’t allow her to move, her body still pressed against his skin on one and the wall on the other side. Kakashi pushed her chin up to meet his lips and she gasped a little for air.
Sayuri was only wearing underwear now, the practical sort, but Kakashi didn’t even look twice at them before he let his hand wander beneath the fabric. She moaned quietly, the embarrassment written all over her face. It had been fine the last time they’d done it, when she had been as much in control as he was. Now it clearly had a different effect on her and also on him. He moved his pointer finger over her clit, once, quickly, to collect a little whine out of her mouth, but then he stopped immediately, his mouth close to her right ear. “Should I go on?” Sayuri turned her head to him, there was sweat on her forehead and yearning in her eyes. She nodded almost unnoticeable. Kakashi was oddly satisfied at the fact that she still wasn’t speaking much. “Beg” he growled, with a voice that emerged from so deep inside him he didn’t even know it existed.
“P-please”, she whispered, her breaths quick and pressed. “Senpai.” He could feel his cock twitching. Part of him wanted to just pull her pants down and insert himself immediately, but he held back. Not yet. Sayuri was still begging quietly into his ear. “Fine.” Kakashi grinned when he started moving his fingers again, quick and skilled over her. He kissed her neck, the shoulders and the breasts, holding her steady with his free hand. She scratched her fingers over his back. Probably adding scars to his back with her fingernails. From low hung lids he watched her squirm and shake in front of him, her lips parted slightly so she could breathe faster. He pressed a bit closer to her, his lips once again fully on hers to take her breath away. She winced into his lips as he moved faster over her. He knew he almost had her there, he could read it in her face, but then he took his hand away.
His towel fell off his hips as he took a step back to give her room to breathe. Sayuri’s eyes looked almost desperate at him. “Please.” She was still begging silently and he couldn’t help but feel a high from it. “On the bed”, he ordered and she slipped out of her shoes, the skirt and the underwear before she obeyed without any further word. Her legs were shaking as she sat down, unsure what to do with herself. Kakashi let the towel fall, his cock standing up hard and ready. He walked over to her and she instinctively put her hand on it. Last time she’d done that he had needed to get used to the fact that she was now a grown up woman, when in his mind she’d died a little girl, but this was different. Clearly, she was an adult and he’d treat her as such. Kakashi let Sayuri stroke over him for a little while, his eyes locked onto hers, but then he ordered again. “Turn around.”
He grabbed her from behind and pushed himself into her with ease, after all he’d done all the preparation work earlier. A sigh left his mouth loud and full of pleasure. Sayuri moaned loudly too, her fingers crawling deep into the sheets of the bed as he started moving into her. Thrusting forward as strong and as deep as it was possible to him. It was unfortunate that her hair was still stuck in the braid over her shoulder, Kakashi would have liked to pull at it a little, but he could still rip her hair a little on the head. She let it all happen, the arms with which she was holding herself up shaking dangerously. He went harder and faster, his fingers scratching along her naked skin. He could feel the disappointment drive him. Disappointment with her, with himself, with the world. Chasing his release he went even faster, thrusting forward so deeply into her, that she whined a little. All the time she’d been quiet, trying to bite her lip to keep the sounds out, but now Sayuri came, loud and sudden, fingers buried so deep in the bed that Kakashi feared it would rip the sheets.
“Shh”, he said, while he continued pushing forward. “We are guests here. We shouldn’t be too loud.” He watched the magic influence of his words on her, how her mouth flew shut immediately upon hearing his order and it drove him to go even faster. If only she’d always listen to him just like that. Kakashi grunted a little when he finished into her, electricity pulsing through him at rapid speeds. He continued moving, giving him the waves of pleasure he’d earned for himself. Sayuri moaned now quietly again, breathless each time he thrust forward. Finally, he let her go, reaching for his towel to throw under her before he pulled out. For a moment he just looked at Sayuri, turning around and cleaning herself up. Before he could stop himself he had dove forward to press a kiss to her forehead. “Well done”, he whispered and then left to go back to the bathroom.
Kakashi’s breaths still came in quick and short when he threw himself back onto the bed next to Sayuri. Her eyes were locked to his face, a finger tracing the outline of it softly. She was being lovely again, he thought, his skin prickling warm and content. When her finger brushed past his lip he kissed it gently. “I’m sorry, if I was being rough”, he whispered and meant it. His anger had vanished, even if his worries hadn’t changed. She shook her head a little: “It’s alright.” She kissed him again, her lips now so much softer on his. “I’m sorry”, she breathed into his lips suddenly, which surprised him. “For all of it.” It was like she had decided to answer all his accusations hours later. He put his hand on her head and stroked her hair. Of course he could not hate her, he could not be angry at her. They kissed one more time and then she pulled herself out of his arms to go to the bathroom herself.
This time Sayuri did not leave hastily in half put on clothes, instead she stayed the night. Kakashi had wondered about it when she’d snuck back under the covers to him, only her underwear back on, if she’d go once he’d fall asleep, but she stayed. Wrapped up under his arms she fell asleep and he could not tear his gaze away from her face sleeping. He’d never really seen it so calm and peaceful and he wanted to kiss her forehead a million times, but held himself back. He knew he also needed sleep, with everything that was going on from tomorrow, but he was lying awake until the early hours of the next day. Sayuri might have stayed this night, might have kissed him gently and lovingly and said she’s sorry, but she hadn’t promised him the promise he had wanted to hear. In truth, she had not really replied to his request to settle with him, chose him, at all. They had just slept with each other again without any resolution.
He should have stopped himself, Kakashi thought, when she tried to kiss him. He should not have let his brain turn off and fury take over. Maybe they’d worked this whole thing out. Sayuri’s hair was falling messy out of her braid as she buried her head even closer into his chest. He sighed. As a kid she’d always said he’d fall in love with her eventually. She had followed him around and said that he’d wait and see. This version of him, the young, angry, cold boy he used to be, embarrassed Kakashi now but still he couldn’t help but be impressed by it all. Even though she hadn’t tried at all after coming back from the dead she had still proved herself right. Sayuri had made him fall in love with her… eventually. Somehow, with all her whining and mocking and disappearing it had still happened. Fuck. What a mess.
Kakashi woke up only about 5 hours after he had fallen asleep, not nearly enough resting time for the task ahead. Sayuri was still there, sleeping calmly with her arms wrapped around him like a monkey. He laughed a little at the drool running out of her half opened mouth and he brushed a strand of hair out of her face. He knew it was stupid to be in love with her, when she only gave him so much grief, but it was what it was. He let go of her hair and left the bed.
It took him almost no time to dress up, his clothes had been made ready for him and placed in front of his room door by some volunteer. Every shinobi would wear a new, unified headband that had been decided by the alliance and this was also provided for him. The usual style for the copy ninja, fabric a bit thicker so he could move it over his sharingan eye. He picked it all up and put it on, watching himself one more time in the bathroom mirror as he did. This might be the last day of his life, he thought, but then again he had thought so many times before and he’d always survived- unfortunately. Somehow, he wasn’t allowed to die and maybe that would hold true today too.
Sayuri stirred when he put on his boots, sitting up quite suddenly as her eyes finally could make out that he was already dressed up. “What time is it?” she said disorientated and he turned to her, only one eye in use now. “It’s 10” he said, the smile hidden under his mask. She threw her braid over her shoulder and squirmed a little. “Up so early, huh?” she asked in a joking, but insecure manner and he nodded: “It’s time to go to war.” Kakashi said it so dryly that her eyes widened immediately. He stood up, now completely ready to leave and after a moment of contemplation he walked over and kissed her again, just one more time before leaving. Who knew if it would ever happen again. Sayuri held on to his sleeve.
“Am I supposed to just let you go?” she said, sadness and worry written all over her black eyes. Kakashi wavered inside at the look of it, fighting the urge to just undress and crawl back under the covers with her. His sense of duty kept his emotions in check. “You could always come - support us”, he said and couldn’t keep the warm hope away from his voice. Sayuri let her eyes fall to her hands. She wouldn’t say yes. She just wouldn’t give him that satisfaction. He could feel the disappointment eat away at his insides, but he said nothing. He just pulled his sleeve out of her fingers and walked to the door. Now it was him who was leaving.

[first hatake lore post]
[second hatake lore post]
[kakashi’s lesbian grandmas]
some more hatake lore, briefly:
the hatake were extremely nomadic in the early days, before/during the warring states era -- branching from the southern mountains of the land of lightning, into the lands of frost, iron, sound, hot water, and fire. the two main branches of the hatake are geographically and even kind of culturally distinct.
the northern branch of the hatake family remained in mostly mountainous/cold areas, and are considered the ..... wilder hatake branch. they are far fewer and farther between than the southern branch of the family, if only because they are all pants shittingly terrifying. locally, they’re considered wolf-people, with sharp teeth and noses and pack-instincts and ‘weird’ traditions, and a closer tie to the lightning natured chakra. because of their scattered nature and their tendency to live only in small groups, they mostly died out before the end of the first shinobi war.
the southern branch, those that settled in warmer climates like the land of fire, are considered the ‘tamer’ family. they lived in bigger family groups, and closer to the end of the warring states era, had gathered quite a bit of land, money, and respect as a family. they’re considered strange for sure, but are seen as more dog than wolf. tamed, loyal, less likely to bite the hand that feeds.
the similarities in these branches basically amount to:
pale hair, be it white or grey or blonde or silver
varying shades of grey eyes
tall and lean
big fans of bladed weapons
canine
lightning nature
bad heart
hatake sakumo was raised by two moms and a dad, and was the youngest of several children, the first of his parent’s children to be born in konoha.
siblings:
sango was the eldest, twins with sayuri and born 18 years before sakumo. she was born under a blood moon, and died when she was 16 defending a settlement from raiders. she was mainly a kenjutsu specialist and used a chakra blade crafted specially for her that got passed to suzume and then to sakumo. she was short and full of rage.
sayuri is just a few minutes younger than sango. she was captured in the first shinobi and put to death by suna as a prisoner of war when she was 20. she was willowy and stealthy, and a talented assassin.
suzume was born 14 years before sakumo, and was considered too “sickly” to be a ninja. she trained to be a medic and married a civilian woman named naomi, and died in the second shinobi war when she was in her 40′s. sakumo was made clan head when she passed.
satoshi was born 10 years before sakumo, and he was also sickly as a child. he was always very, very sweet, and loved bugs. he died when he was 7 years old of a severe fever.
shou was born 5 years before sakumo, and was nonverbal and whip-quick his entire life. he wrote a BUNCH of the hatake clan history down, and then started on clan ninjutsu and kenjutsu techniques that had never been recorded before. he died when he was 28 years old under ~mysterious~ circumstances.
sakumo was born when hisoka was nearing 50, and akira was 45, soon after the formation of konoha. known as konoha’s white fang. he was uhh like 42 when kakashi was born.
parents:
hisoka has her own post and is very cool. she’s the matriarch of the “main” branch of the hatake (and by that i just mean the largest and most well-known) during the end of the warring states era and the formation of the hidden leaf village. she dies at about 60 years old of a heart attack.
akira also has her own post and is very cool. she dies at 92, when kakashi is 5, after imparting seriously terrifying old lady wisdom on his young, impressionable, spongy brain. her father is the bastard son of an uchiha man and an inuzuka woman, which is the reason kakashi’s body doesn’t outright reject the sharingan.
katashi was a serious man and definitely the diplomat of the family. he did a lot of important work helping design the school system in konoha, and was KIA 6 years after sakumo was born. he has some bastard children.
hatake miyuki, kakashi’s mother, was born to a northern branch family of the hatake and is from the land of iron.
siblings:
miyuki was kakashi’s mother. she’s 35 when he’s born and 38 when she dies. she was nearly six feet tall with white-blonde hair and slate grey eyes, and had vivid red tattoos on her arms, chest, and neck. she used two sais, had two wolf summons, riku and amoi, and pakkun was gifted to her as a wedding present from sakumo. she was intensely private, but she took a delight in life that’s kind of.... rare.
raiden is 3 years younger than miyuki, and remains in the land of iron when she flees to the land of fire. he became a samurai in the land of iron, and is probably still alive today, but miyuki and raiden lost contact when she left the country and he and kakashi do not know one another exist.
parents:
takeo was miyuki’s father. he was a towering man, known to be quite bloodthirsty and greedy, and miyuki slayed him just before she left the land of iron.
rin was her mother, a cold woman the color of snow, who rarely spoke. she was considered either insane or a seer, and died when one day she walked out into a snowstorm barefoot and never came back when miyuki was 15. that was the only story about her family miyuki ever told to sakumo, kakashi, and akira.
sakumo and miyuki met during the second shinobi war when miyuki was on the run. they returned to the leaf village married, where the general reaction was kind of a collective shrug, and miyuki was put on the active duty roster. they were VERY much in love, and sakumo was devastated when she died.

Pairing: Kita x Fem!Reader
What's Meant to Be Masterlist
"Finally, the end of another day," Sayuri sighs at the end of your Friday shift as she sits down on the bench beside you in the locker room, wiping her forehead.
"I know," you sigh as you stretch your arms above your head and let out a groan.
"You okay?" she asks.
"Yeah, just a bit tired," you answer.
Just then, a faint buzzing fills the air, drawing the two of you from your conversation. You fish your phone out of your bag and hesitate a moment when you see a message from Kita.
"Oooo," Sayuri coos, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she peeks at your screen.
"Shut up," you scoff as you slowly unlock your phone...
KITA'S P.O.V.
"I told the guys she's at work," I begin as I roll my eyes at the other guys crowding around my phone. "She can't talk right now."
"What about afterwards?" Osamu questions.
"She walks home," I shrug.
"Seriously? This late at night? It's dangerous," he scolds.
"That's not her fault," I remind him.
"Well, text her back," Atsumu then insists.
Suna then chimes in from the other side of the room. "Are you going to invite her to the wedding over text?" he shakes his head as he lets out a puff of smoke from his joint.
"Of course not," I huff.
"Well then, what are you going to say?" Atsumu grins.
"Dude, you're the one who told me to text her! I thought you'd have an idea."
"Oh, I do," Atsumu nods.
"Then tell me."
"No."
"No?"
"I mean, it's your decision. Not mine," he shrugs.
I'm about to snap at him when my phone buzzes. It's another message from Y/N. This time, she's asking me what I'm doing.
"Who is it?" Aran hums as he walks into the room.
I can't help but roll my eyes. It's like talking to a bunch of seven year olds.
"Invite her over here," Suna suggests.
"Yeah, then we can see her again," Atsumu adds.
I glance back down at my phone, wondering if they're right. But if I invite her, she'll have to walk all the way here. "I don't think that's a good idea," I then shake my head. "She's working two jobs now. She probably needs her sleep."
"Then what the hell do you want to say to her?" Osamu frowns.
"Just tell her what you're doing," Suna suggests.
"Yeah," Atsumu agrees. "And ask her how her day was."
"Alright," I mumble, typing out a quick response. "Do you think I should ask her to hang out this weekend? Like the park or something?"
"The park?" Atsumu repeats, looking absolutely baffled.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Suna scoffs.
"Why don't you invite her to the wedding?" Aran says.
"Are you stupid? Not over text," Atsumu rolls his eyes. "Invite her over to your house again."
"Again?" I say, looking over at him. How did he know she's already been to my place? "What are you talking about?"
"You already had her over, didn't you?" Atsumu shrugs.
"What? You did?" Aran chimes in. "When?"
"Last weekend," I admit with a sigh. "How did you know?"
"Atsumu has a big mouth," Osamu snickers.
"Whatever," I huff, my cheeks warming as they all continue to talk about it.
"Invite her over again," Aran suggests, changing the subject finally. "That is a good idea."
"Okay," I nod. "Thanks."
With that, I shoot her a text, asking if she'd like to hang out at my place this weekend. Then, after a few minutes of waiting, she responds.
Y/N'S P.O.V.
"What does it say?!" Sayuri gasps for the hundredth time in the past five minutes.
"Shit," you grumble.
"What?!" she repeats again before finally taking the phone from your hands. "Oh my god! He's inviting you back over to his place! You've got to say yes! You promised! You promised, Y/N!"
"Why are you so wrapped up in this?" you roll your eyes as she hands you back your phone.
"Because I think you two would be cute together," she says with a grin. "Besides, a deal is a deal."
"Fine," you mumble, knowing you'd probably break your promise otherwise. So, you tell him that you'd love to come over and then you wait for his reply.
KITA'S P.O.V.
Somehow, Atsumu got a hold of my phone in the past ten seconds and he's eagerly waiting for Y/N to reply.
"You're going to give me back my phone now," I mutter as I stand up and walk over to him while he tries to weasel away and say god knows what to scare her off.
"Why can't I have some fun too?" he pouts.
"This isn't supposed to be fun for you," I roll my eyes as I follow him into the kitchen. But the second the two of us are alone and out of earshot of the others, he puts my phone down on the kitchen table and looks at me seriously.
"Listen, Kita," he begins.
"What?" I say, a flicker of annoyance coursing through me as I wonder what's coming next.
"I'm serious, don't fuck this up," he warns.
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't push her away or hurt her or do something stupid," he elaborates. "She's had a hard life and I think you're the first guy she's trusted... maybe ever."
"I'm not going to push her away or hurt her," I assure him, his words echoing in my mind.
"Good," he nods. "So, are you guys going to fuck this weekend or what?"
"You're a piece of shit, Tsumu," I grumble, grabbing my phone and turning to walk away.
"I'm not wrong though, am I?" he says, stopping me in my tracks.
"I don't know," I sigh, glancing back at him. "I'm just trying to be her friend."
"Right, right," he nods, a smirk growing across his lips. "Sure. And I'm just trying to get back with my ex."
"You are?"
"No," he laughs. "But I could."
"I'm not going to do anything crazy, I promise. You know, if she's even into that sort of thing."
"What's 'that sort of thing'? Wait, what're we walking about right now, Kita?" he asks, smirk growing wider.
"Nevermind," I mutter, turning to walk away. "You're so fucking weird."
"Yeah, but you love me anyway," he calls out.
"Don't bank on that!" I call back before stepping back into the living room and returning to my seat.

Lol I love the idea of Suna basically being like, ninja Australia, but for Sayuri it’s this ultimate smorgasbord.
Some ‘delicacies’ Sayuri has tried during her visit to Suna and how she’d rate them (note: this list is not complete in any way):
Fire-iron ants: known for their bite, which feels like getting stabbed with a red-hot poker
Sayuri’s rating: 9/10, each one rewards you with a tiny burst of heat, super easy to obtain, very inexpensive, convenient to carry, great source of protein, however too small to really be filling
(What the vendor said to Sayuri: You want to be extremely careful with these-- kill one and it’ll release a chemical upon its death that can be sensed by its fellow ants for miles. They’ll track you down and attack you by the thousands.
What Sayuri heard: These are a great investment-- keep a few of these around and you’ll have a free, unlimited supply of snacks any time you’re in the desert)
Blistering toad: secretes a toxin from its skin; pick it up and any skin that comes into contact with the toad will begin to peel off horribly
Sayuri’s rating: 7/10, these make a decent stew, meat is very tender, unique flavor but not bad at all-- your mouth will tingle pleasantly for hours afterwards, long cooking prep time (to get maximum flavor, you should plan on slow-cooking it for four hours minimum), makes for great leftovers, can see how it could be an acquired taste for some people though
Winged Cobra fangs: one of the milder toxins, in low doses can cause muscle weakness, in higher doses can cause paralysis and heart arrhythmias
Sayuri’s rating: 6/10, mildly sweet with a pleasant cooling/numbing sensation not unlike menthol, you can swallow the fangs but I usually don’t-- I typically just suck on them until they lose flavor before spitting them out, makes for a fairly tasty candy
(okay but please imagine being at a social event and there’s this woman just. Casually spitting out snake fangs into a bowl, like they’re watermelon seeds or something. Man at that point I’d just leave.)
Devil’s Nightmare: a plant with potent mind-altering effects; when brewed as a tea, it gives the drinker horrific hallucinations, commonly used by Suna’s Torture and Interrogation department to mentally break prisoners
Sayuri’s rating: 0/10. Out of the many, many ‘foods’ she’s tried in Suna, this is one of the very few she ended up actively disliking (and in fact, would go out of her way to warn against)-- despite experiencing no real adverse effects.
In fact, all it did was give her a mild high. However, it loosened her inhibitions enough that she ended up actually giggling a little (she was promptly horrified and vowed to never go near the plant again).
Shinigami’s Hornet: a hornet that causes even ninja to get the hell out of dodge, its sting causes you to feel like you’re getting burned alive for hours on end, non-lethal-- even when stung multiple times-- but you’ll pray for death anyway
Sayuri’s rating: 10/10. Packs a very powerful punch for such a small insect. A rare treat-- they’re very difficult to find-- but just one hornet will satisfy you for hours. The burn that accompanies eating one is exquisite-- it is pure sensation, the very line between pain and pleasure, and it doesn’t end at your taste buds-- it travels down your throat, to your stomach, and from there spreads out to every inch of your body. The taste will stay with you for hours but the memory will stay with you forever. A delicacy in every sense of the word.
(Meanwhile in Konoha, it’s just like...Sakumo explaining to the Hokage and a very nervous council for the fiftieth time that no, Sayuri sending back a package of fire ants with a note reading ‘In case you want to spice up your cooking’ was not meant to be a threat in any way, she’s just...Like That.
Also now I’m imagining Sayuri going up against Sasori (or any puppeteer from Suna, really) and the utter disaster that would turn out to be.
Any normal, sane person: Damn, this puppet appears to be coated in poison, I better be extra careful so I don’t get hit.
Sayuri, who is not a normal, sane person: That’s strange, I wonder why this puppet smells so appetizing)

The Gods are Always Watching.
Chapter One: A Rice Grain.
Previous • MasterList • Next
(Y/n) Yowainari is one of the most well known students attending Inarizaki. Captain of the girl’s cheer team, contestant in Japan’s Cheer Nationals, A plus student. Despite this, there is a lot that is unknown about the leader of Inarizaki’s Vixens. Most definitely thanks to her parent’s influence over her.
Born and raised into a strict family, women were raised to be housewives, tenders to the family shrine and temple and birth givers, doing as their husbands say. Men were born to carry the family name, take care of and provide for their families while making sure their wives bore strong children. Tradition runs deep in the Yowainari family. And (Y/n) is no exception to this. But it’s not the aspect of raising a family or being a housewife that upsets (Y/n). It’s her soulmate. Or rather, her inability to find them.
It’s said that the little tattoo along your wrist was representative of something your soulmate enjoyed, adored or was interested in. For Sayuri-Mai it was a little calligraphy pen. For Suna, a tiny microphone, and Kiyōkei a small alien.
What was (Y/n)’s? A crop of some kind. Either wheat or rice. Usually someone like her would take her time finding a soulmate. You don’t want to rush the universe after all. But the clock was ticking down, quicker and quicker with every day that passed.
Six months.
That’s all (Y/n) had left of her freedom. Six measly months that were spent still in school, still under the roof of her parents and stuck in the clutches of manipulative household.
The only solace (Y/n) had found was in the old temple and shrine that her family tended to and her grandfather, who has been tending to the shrine for over seventy years.
Katashi Yowainari, a stern but light hearted man who believes dutifully in the gods. He cares deeply for his family, especially his granddaughters, Ran and (Y/n). He is a man of tradition, just like the rest of the family, but he also believes in listening to your heart.
Nothing upsets him more than the idea of his precious granddaughter marrying a man much older than her, especially one from the Hazanaki family. The two families don’t have the same interests nor the same respects, so it’s unfitting that a sweet daughter from the Yowainari family marry one of them.
But it couldn’t be avoided. They had no choice, and while it upset Katashi to no end, there was nothing he could do to stop it. Except—- one thing. He knew if (Y/n) we’re to find her soulmate before the engagement could be signed than she wouldn’t have to marry Saburo Hazanaki, after all you weren’t supposed to tamper with fate or the gods.
However, finding your soulmate wasn’t as easy as it seemed. All you have is a single, small image upon your wrist. And when you stumble across your soulmate, the only way you’ll be able to know they are who they are is if you happen to glance at your wrist immediately after and see their initials, the date and time scrawled neatly by the image. Fate while a beautiful mistress, was also a cruel one.
And what were the chances that your soulmate lived in the same continent, country, province, town as you? Very slim, considering there are over seven billion people on earth, and one of them is carrying a tiny tattoo of your interest on them.
Thankfully for (Y/n), she had a group of doting friends who were more than happy to help her look for her soulmate. Hana and Kiyoomi went around Itachiyama, glancing at wrists to see if any of them had a tattoo that could be related to (Y/n).
Kaede and Kiyoko carried a picture of (Y/n)’s mark on their phones, in case they saw someone with a tattoo either similar or that could relate to her.
The entirety of the Inarizaki Vixens saved images of (Y/n) to their phone, hoping someone would take interest in her and then happen to be her soulmate.
Sayuri-Mai and Keiji silently (yet awkwardly) took pictures of soulmate marks that could relate to (Y/n) and Bokuto would distract the person while the two waited for (Y/n) to respond.
And Tooru would give (Y/n)’s number out to anyone who could potentially be her soulmate, although it’s something that hasn’t worked yet and just ended up with Tooru getting in trouble with Kiyōkei.
Four months.
Nothing has worked yet, and nothing brought (Y/n) down more. Especially when her mother informed her that they’d be going to dinner with Saburo tonight. Sighing, the (h/c) teen nodded politely, winching as her mother slammed the door to her room shut. Pulling out her phone, the girl picked at the back of her Fox themed case as she opened the group chat she had with her friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She put her phone to the side, pulling her hair from the tie she had it in. Her grandfather had asked her to meet him at the Temple house, and knowing how her grandfather was there was no doubt they’d be doing offerings and prayers to Inarikami-sama.
Grabbing the traditional Miko garb from the cushion she had it folded on, (Y/n) slipped into her red hakama and socks, fluffing out the loose pants with a small smile gracing her face. Pulling on the white kosode and tying it before gently tucking it into her hakama pants, she slipped on the simple zori her grandfather had gifted her and tied her hair back rather loosely with a red ribbon.
The girl glanced over at herself in the mirror, her doe eyes fluttering as she blinked, a delicate smile on her face. She felt so comfortable in the shrine and temple, especially when taking care of the ornate statues and carvings. She felt a connection to them, as if they were speaking to her. The two Golden fox statues on the pedestals leading to the offering room were her favorites, however.
Steeping from her room and through the shoji to the outside, (Y/n) breathed a sigh of contentment at the feeling of the crisp, cool night air tickling her warm cheeks. The gravel crunched beneath her zori sandals as she walked from her mother and father’s estate and down the path towards the inari temple. Feeling her phone vibrate in the pockets of her hakama, she pulled it out with a breath of relief at the contact name.
“Kazashi.”

Naruto AU - Shuji Uchiha Scenarios Part 1
Shuji Uchiha is the adoptive brother of Naruto Uzumaki. And the half-brother of Sasuke Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha from their mother’s side, and half-brother Shisui Uchiha from their father’s side. And as well as my OC.
-Pre OS-
Mikoto Uchiha adopted Naruto but has to move out of the Uchiha Distract and into the late 4th Hokage Minato and his wife Kushina’s with the newborn child. Over a while, an Uchiha man was given permission to help Mikoto. The Uchiha man is the father of Shisui Uchiha. They accidently conceive a child, the child was named Shuji. Weeks after Shuji was born, his birth father died.
While growing up, Shuji had a big brother worship towards Shisui as Sasuke towards Itachi. Shuji and Sasuke tend to argue who’s the better big brother, Shisui or Itachi. However out of all his big brothers, Shuji actually favors Naruto because Naruto took the time to listen to him and play with him. Shuji is also seem patient with Itachi than Sasuke is. Even if Shuji likes Shisui better, he looks up to Itachi. And Shuji even considers Sasuke to be most relatable.
Shuji even met Izumi, Itachi’s lover. Shuji sees Izumi as a big sister-figure, mainly due to Shuji not being as stingy as Sasuke especially when it comes to Itachi.
Shuji is practically a mama’s boy, he is always seen with his mother Mikoto. Shuji learn about not just cooking and cleaning, but learn about Mikoto’s fighting skills at a very high level. Mikoto is a role-model to Shuji.
Shuji doesn’t get along with his stepfather Fugaku. Mainly due to Fugaku not being the type to open up his feelings and being a hardass.
Shuji, in-person, witness the death of his mother Mikoto and his big sister-figure Izumi in the hands of Itachi. Naruto was staying for afterschool after a prank gone messy. Shuji and Sasuke found each other as they see Itachi, as he spares them seeing the potential of them obtaining the Mangekyou Sharingan. Both Shuji and Sasuke try to fight off Itachi yet they had no progression. Shuji had to break down the news to Naruto about Mikoto’s demise.
Shuji did his best to enter the academy, to be with his remaining siblings, so he wouldn’t be alone at the house. He was then accepted.
Shuji tries to convince Sasuke to move into his and Naruto’s house because they’re family, and they’re all that’s left for each each other. Sasuke, however, prefer to live in an apartment, to which Shuji visits to keep his half-brother company and see how he’s doing. They train from time to time.
Shuji along with Naruto have been oppressed and discriminated by the Konoha villagers. Shuji has notice that this has happened before the Uchiha massecre, however now, it’s more nasty. Shuji simply doesn’t understand why they hate him and his big brother but he definitely wish the villagers are dead.
While with Naruto, Shuji noticed a girl who has been looking from afar. The girl was Hinata Hyuga. To Shuji, she seems rather cute and nice. Shuji encourages Hinata to come and hang with him and Naruto. Shuji even noticed another girl, Hinata’s little sister Hanabi Hyuga, to which both Naruto and Shuji convinced her to stick around as well.
Shuji helps Naruto train, especially when it comes to preforming the ordinary beginner jutsus.
Shuji does make time to make food and clean, and Naruto does his share as well since the two are working together.
-Original Series-
Shuji and Sasuke may have hold resentment towards Itachi for what they did to their parents and clan. However, Shuji wants to put the revenge mission on hold. After all, there’s nothing they can do for right now. Both he and Sasuke had some disagreements. Yet they still train together.
When Shuji sees that Naruto failed the graudation exams, he purposely funk himself so they could be ninjas another time. Shuji simply doesn’t want to leave his big brother’s side, until Naruto told Iruka that Shuji failed the graudation on purpose because he knows that they need the money.
When first meeting Konohamaru Sarutobi, Shuji thought he was some sort of strange kid even for the grandson of the 3rd Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi. Shuji, like Naruto, began to befriend Konohamaru. Naruto and Shuji played with Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon. Even invite Hanabi after convincing Hiashi that she needs to stimulate her mind in order to be an effective fighter. It’s the only way to have her live her life better.
Instead of a three-man squad, it’ll be four-man squad for each team: Team 7 - Naruto, Shuji, Hinata, & Sasuke Team 8 - Kiba, Shino, Sayuri, & [A new girl character, a non-clan one] Team 10 - Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, & [A new girl character, possibly a Sarutobi] Same could be said for Team Guy/Gai, and two more teams in the same year as them. One team would have three girls and one boy, both teams have females senseis
Shuji overheard some girl’s talk about Naruto, how she is badmouthing him as an orphan. Shuji pummels Sher to the ground. Enraged that someone is making of his brother after he and Shuji lost their mother.
When seeing he’s on the same team as his brothers and the girl he loves, Shuji was rather happy that they got to stick together. Shuji can fight along side with his relatives and his love, he reassures Hinata that they can all protect each other, they all have each other’s back. Yet, Shuji couldn’t help himself to protect Hinata (and his brothers).
When visiting the Hyuga District to pick up Hinata, Naruto and Shuji get violently angry at Hiashi for badmouthing his own daughter Hinata, being stopped by Kakashi. Hearing Hiashi says that Hinata is a “failure” and that the Hyuga, Shuji remarks that if she was a failure, she’d be taking after him, a lousy good-for-nothing selfish man who is nothing more than someone who brought two girls into the world only to refuse to take responsibility as a father.
After seeing Hinata having a bad situation at her household, Shuji offers to invites Hinata to his and Naruto’s house, at least dinner so he could cook, maybe once every afternoon as a getaway and to get to know each other.
There are times in B rank missions that Shuji ends up in trouble to which Hinata comes to his aid, although, Shuji isn’t upset. Shuji is, in fact, happy to see Hinata becoming stronger and more confident.
Shuji would even help out Naruto and Sasuke from danger as well, especially if it seems over his head, yet he doesn’t want to bear losing his only family he has left.
Shuji would grow from 1 tomoe at the early of the original series, to 1-&-2 tomoe, then 2 tomoe at the middle, later 2-&-3 tomoe, and then fully mature 3 tomoe at the end of the original series.
Shuji did run into Orochimaru at a different place and time, possibly on a mission soon before the Chunin Exams arc with a mix members on Shuji’s part. However, unlike with Sasuke who woke with the power up, Shuji woke up yet he is technically dying but manage to fight on.
It was until later on, Shuji was at death’s door compare to Sasuke when receiving the Curse Mark, until something alerting happens to either of his brothers or Hinata. Shuji finally overcomes the mark’s effects on him and began to have a murderous anger.
When Shuji sees how horrible Neji went through, being enslaved with a mark that can kill you, losing a parent, all that at such a young age. All the while, Shuji holds a grudge against Neji for looking for an opportunity to kill Hinata, yet Shuji still sympathize Neji.
Shuji sees that Gaara, like his big brother Naruto, a special power (although, it’s the power of a Tailed Beast) to which his own village fears and hates him for something that can’t be helped, yet also sees that Gaara got it worse than him and Naruto especially since he has his own father trying to kill him, unable to communicate with his siblings properly. Shuji pities Gaara.
After the Invasion on Konoha by Suna and Oto, Shuji’s speech patterns became more aggressive, especially after the mark reactivates. In Japanese, at first, Shuji’s 1st person pronoun was “Boku”, then it became “Ore”, to show how aggressive Shuji became.
Shuji begins to see that things between him and Hinata aren’t going anywhere. He sees Hinata showing more visible affections towards Naruto.
Shuji and Neji are having a rocky relationship. Until later on, when Hinata becomes temporarily blind, seeing Neji took care of her and even go out to help her condition, Shuji finally fully forgives and trusts Neji, and even tells Neji what’s on his mind, which is vowing that he will find a way to free him and the Side Branch family.
When he and Sasuke heard that Itachi return, and is after his big brother Naruto, Shuji was scared and furious. By the time he and Sasuke run into Hinata, Shuji explains to her on the way that Naruto is in danger and that they need to find Naruto as quickly as possible.
Shuji have to remind Sasuke that they have to run away with Naruto and nothing more, they can’t take on Itachi since he did defeat Kakashi. By the time, they did met up with Itachi, Shuji tries to think of how to escape with Naruto, only to see Sasuke charges at Itachi with a Chidori with Shuji thinking “What a dumbass”. Shuji tries to help Sasuke out but Itachi beats the crap out of Shuji and put him in a coma as well.
By the time both Shuji and Sasuke woke up from their coma, like Sasuke, Shuji became different than he was before. Shuji became rather moody, bitter, and has guilt. The encounter with Itachi and Kisame haunts him. He, his brothers, and Hinata were in a no-way-out situation to which they all could get killed. Shuji tries to rationalize and justify his failure only to see the fact he wasn’t good enough. Shuji finally begins to see why Sasuke couldn’t put the revenge mission on hold, so Shuji then train with Sasuke more than ever.
Naruto and the others began to see Shuji is becoming more and more bitter after each mission and those missions was that they either failed or even success through dumb luck. Especially since he and Naruto seen the suffering and unfortunate events in different places. Shuji ask them how many times they are going to get beaten before they wise up and they realize that being a ninja isn’t a game. Think of Leo from TMNT 2003 Season 4, I admit he was a jerk but he has his reasons.
When Kakashi told Shuji let go of his revenge like Shuji did once before he was put into a coma. Shuji told him that he didn’t let go, he put it on hold, and that Itachi plan to take his older brother Naruto away from him. Shuji already lost his mother, his big sister figure Izumi, and eldest brother Shisui, he not planning to let Itachi go around free. Kakashi tells him that he too lost his loved ones and he only look into the past. However, unlike Sasuke, Shuji doesn’t buy it, his response is “you no longer seek retribution? You dishonor your loved ones. I will honor the memory of my fallen”.
Well, that’s it for the scenarios for Shuji Uchiha for now. I might have more plans for him, some I having a bit of a mix feeling, but I’ll discuss them another time. Until then, see ya.

The Worst Nightmare
Now as a father Sasuke had never really had to worried about his eldest daughter, Sarada, she had her mother’s indestructible strength; complete with the seal to prove herself indestructible, and she was his daughter with a Sharingan and everything. There was literally nothing his daughter couldn’t out maneuver, outwit, destroy or annihilate. He had never, ever worried about her, she was just too much like her mother in the temper department to worry about; boys were quick to go the opposite direction when they saw her. Not because she wasn’t gorgeous; she was the prettiest girl in the village aside from her mother, if he did say so himself, but they ran because she could knock their asses to Suna and back and never break a sweat.
However, he was seeing the error in his ways now as he stared at a young man who was holding bouquet of flowers at his door while Sakura was helping Sarada get ready for the date. A date of which he had had a week’s notice on from his wife, because Sarada had been too nervous to even bring up the topic with him.
And perhaps that was his first error, he hadn’t thought about when she would become interested in boys because she was always so studious why would she ever be interested in boys; especially when none of them were good enough for her. or perhaps his mayjor error came just before he left for nine years, when she was three years old and had announced to him directly this boy was annoying. Or perhaps it was when he had returned home and her accomplice when setting up a date for him and her mother had been the very toddler she had told him to be annoying. Or perhaps when he had been too busy with training her and dobe jr. to notice that when she wasn’t training (because then he was being pestered by dobe jr. for more training) or she wasn’t at the hospital with her mother or learning to be Hokage, she had been with this particular ‘annoying’ boy.
“Evening Sir,” the boy said, Sasuke just stepped aside to let the green eyed boy with a spikey tail on his head into his apartment where his girls were against his will. The green eyed boy stood there, and he looked nervous in a Nara lazy way as he stood there looking completely at ease, but there was something in those eyes, the eyes he had inherited from his mother as he tracked him. Sasuke was half tempted to Amaterasu the boy and say he didn’t know what happened to Sarada’s date.
Not that that would fly with her mother or his seventeen year old daughter. A four year old trotted out of his room to grab his pants’ leg which had looking at the four year old looking a lot like him and Itachi staring up expectantly at him.
“Aa,” he acknowledged as he picked him up. Itachi looked to the Nara boy with wide onyx eyes and he looked over to see his youngest daughter peeking around the corner with wide onyx eyes at the Nara boy.
“Sayuri,” Shikadai greeted. The younger toddler disappeared down the corner. Sasuke put his eldest and only son down and the four year old darted off after his little sister.
“Sir,” Shikadai looked at him and shifted from foot to foot as he stood there.
“Let me be clear, you make her cry, break her heart, harm her in anyway and you will not need to worry your future, because I will end you,” Sasuke snarled out. “She is my eldest daughter, and if you dare to treat her how I treated her mother,” because the entire village apparently knew he had broken Sakura’s heart repeatedly when they were younger. “I will rip you to shreds, light you on fire and walk away without a backwards glance. You will treat her like a queen or you will perish, understood, Nara?”
The boy looked at him with wide startled green eyes before a lazy smirk spread on his lips and he nodded.
“Yes Sir, I will treat her like a queen.”
“Good, and if you touch her, I’ll kill you,” Sasuke said flatly. He couldn’t stop his daughter from dating, Sakura had already given him a week’s notice that Sarada liked a boy and had been asked to the festival by a boy and she was going, and said boy (at the time unnamed boy, probably left anonymous by Sakura so he lived to this point) was to be alive and well when Sarada’s date came.
“Yes Sir,” he nodded and they stood there in silence. He was not happy about this and he was still tempted to Amaterasu the boy standing there but he didn’t because to do so would mean he’d be igniting the wrath of his wife and eldest daughter. It was strange how all three Uchiha women had Sakura’s temper, he had hopes that his son was going to be like Itachi in the temper department, but there was also Sakura’s slight bump holding their fourth child which she claimed had his temper.
“Good,” he snarled and he heard a crash in the other room.
“Itachi!” he heard Sarada yelp.
“Alright, everyone’s alright, Sarada, nothing happened, so come on,” he heard Sakura order. He was shocked with how his daughter looked as she rounded the corner. Itachi was hugging his mother’s skirt, a sleepy Sayuri was hugging her mom who was holding her up, and Sarada was holding her mother’s hand as she appeared.
His family, it was the only thought in his mind as he looked at them.
“Hey Shikadai,” Sarada mumbled as she blushed a little. Sasuke scowled at Shikadai who smiled at her and offered her the flowers.
“Here,” he said nervously and Sasuke picked up Itachi again before the four year old could cause trouble.
“Well, Papa?” Sarada asked him shyly. He looked his eldest over with a critical eye, she looked gorgeous in her pink kimono which faded into red at the bottom, flower petals were embroidered into it with leaves which brought tints of green into the design, he recognized it as a gift from her grandmother and grandfather with the Uchiha crest on the back of it.
“Beautiful,” he said coolly. She smiled happily.
“I’ll have her home by…” Shikadai started.
“Nine,” he answered, that gave them two hours an elbow in his ribs had him scowling at his small pink wife.
“Eleven,” Sakura said and he glared at the boy.
“Ten!” Sarada compromised then. “We’ll be back at ten. Thanks Mom!”
“Have fun,” Sakura ordered.
“Love you, dad!” she said as she took Shikadai’s offered arm, he glared at the boy.
“I’ll take care of her!” Shikadai assured him in a laidback tone which had him lifting his brow as he watched them go.
“I don’t like this,” he grumbled.
“Oh Shush, she was going to grow up at some point!” Sakura said as she walked to the nursery, he followed her with Itachi who tugged on his hair, Sasuke glanced at his son who grinned as he poked his brow, Sasuke smiled slight to the toddler in his arm as they walked into the nursery and he put the kid on his bed.
“Why can’t they just stay… little?” he grumbled as he tucked Itachi in and walked over to Sakura who was putting Sayuri on her bed.
“Well, they have to grow up at some point, it’s inevitable,” she pointed out as she finished tucking Sayuri in who giggled at having a kiss on the brow when Sakura got to her feet unsteadily, Sasuke helped her up, it had only taken four pregnancies for her to actually look pregnant, and even now in month eight she only looked like she was just starting her second trimester according to Tsunade.
“Sayuri, don’t grow up,” he ordered his grinning toddler, she was almost two and he loved being around this time as leaned over and kissed her brow. She yawned and fell asleep. Itachi and Sayuri were taking after their eldest sister at this age, they didn’t talk yet, and while he wasn’t worried about it after having had gone through this with Sarada, it was apparently concerning to Tsunade, Kakashi, the Dobe, Hinata, Mebuki, and Kizashi and pretty much all of their friends. However, Sarada had spoken her first words when she had found her mother miscarrying and unconscious and half-dead; not a pleasant memory for him but it was when Sarada had screamed her first words.
“Don’t be ridiculous Sasuke,” Sakura said as they left the toddlers to sleep.
“Besides, she could do worse than Nara, I think she mostly likes him because he can keep up with her thought processes.”
“He’s a he and he’s with my daughter, I don’t care who he is; I do not like him,” Sasuke grounded out.
“She could date Boruto,” Sakura pointed out flatly. He felt his eye twitch with a homicidal intent. Whether that kid was his student or not, he’d burn him alive if he even thought about courting Sarada. At least Nara was respectable, dobe jr. was the fucking dobe but smarter at seventeen.
“No, not even Karma would do that to me,” Sasuke snapped.
“I don’t know, you’ve don’t a lot of really bad things over the course of your life… and what goes around comes around,” Sakura teased, he snarled as he grabbed her and pulled her close.
“No,” he answered her and she smiled as she laughed.
“Sasuke, you had to know this day would come,” she mused.
“I thought I’d be dead at least two weeks when it did,” he admitted and his wife laughed as she rested her brow on his chest then looked up at him. He was shocked when she pulled him down for a hard kiss on the lips. He responded greedily as he gently pushed her up against a wall and was mindful of the slight protruding bump holding his fourth child. His fingers were in her hair as they kissed for a long moment and nothing else mattered to them for a second.
“She’ll be alright Sasuke,” Sakura breathed when he pulled away. He rested his brow on hers and just stayed there for a moment.
“I still don’t trust him,” Sasuke said firmly. Sakura smiled.
“You’re not required to trust him, just… trust Sarada. She’s a smart young woman, and she’s an Uchiha, and I didn’t raise a fool so trust her Sasuke,” Sakura said.
“Aa,” he agreed reluctantly as he kissed her again.
“Sasuke,”
“No, you are still very pregnant despite your deceptively normal appearance and we are not having a repeat of Sarada or Itachi,” he said firmly. She grumbled a bit as they eventually ended up on the couch of the fourth time rebuilt house to watch a movie. Sakura was sound asleep within minutes and he smirked in triumph as he enjoyed a moment of peace while he waited up for his daughter to return. At around nine forty he maneuvered Sakura to her bed, she protested a bit as he put her on the bed but he won just simple because she was exhausted. But as a mother of three and pregnant, he didn’t think it was surprising that she was exhausted.
He left Sakura sound asleep in their room as he waited up for Sarada. Eighteen minutes after putting Sakura to bed, at exactly nine fifty-nine he heard Sarada’s voice and he activated his Sharingan as he watched his daughter and their date. He actually took a deep breath to prevent himself from lunging out of his house, grabbing his daughter and killing the Nara brat when he saw Shikadai kiss his daughter’s small form and wait for her as she walked into the house at exactly ten o'clock on the dot.
“Dad!” Sarada gasped once she saw him after shutting the door.
“Sarada,” he greeted, the seventeen year old blushed and bit her lip.
“You saw that?” she asked shyly.
“Aa,” he answered with a nod; there was no point in lying to the girl because it was a rule Sarada had started when she had found his journals of all his crimes and nightmares when she had been thirteen. She had demanded the truth and then after receiving a long and painful talk from him and Sakura about what had gone on in his past she had then ordered nothing but the truth ever be told because she wasn’t going to stand to be treated like a child when she had a right to know the truth.
“Please don’t kill him?” Sarada said uncertainly.
“Did he harm you?”
“No,” she answered.
“Did he touch you?”
“No.”
“Did he break your heart?”
“No.”
“Then I don’t have a reason to kill him, yet,” Sasuke informed her. Sarada giggled a bit and walked over to the couch before flopping onto it with him as they both stared at the television in companionable silence.
“Dad?”
“Hn.”
“When did you know mom was the one?” Sarada asked him suddenly and he stiffened slightly at the question as he looked over to his eldest daughter who looked at him expectantly.
“Elaborate,” he ordered.
“When did you know mom was your one, the one you wanted to marry and be with for the rest of your life?” Sarada asked.
“Truth or censored?” he demanded. There was the truth of his side, or she could just as her mother who would have the censored version so he didn’t look more like a bastard than he already was.
“Truth,” Sarada said as she pulled her short hair down.
“The first time I left you and her behind,” he answered and that froze Sarada.
“But that was… that was…” she stammered.
“Right after your third birthday,” he answered honestly and she just gaped at him. “I married her when the Kazekage was trying to lure her to Suna, I knew I loved her when I had to leave you two behind,” Sasuke explained and she just blinked.
“But mom loved you… for… forever? How come you didn’t love her?” Sarada asked. He just sighed.
“You read the journals Sarada,” he answered coldly and his daughter looked at her lap. “Why?”
“Well… I was just curious…” she evaded and he glared at her and she sighed.
“Fine, I think… I think I might… like Shikadai more than just a date,” she mumbled and peeked at him. His eyes narrowed and she gave him her nervous crooked grin.
“If he breaks your heart I’m killing him,” he warned her seriously and she smiled her lopsided grin broadly as she gave him a hug; in private they expressed affection, though rare, but in public this almost never happened as he hesitantly brought his arm around Sarada and hugged her as well as he kissed the top of her head.
“You’re the best dad ever,” she informed him as she pulled away then hurried to her room leaving him stunned when he walked back to his room and smirked in triumph at his daughter’s sweet words as he changed for bed and crawled into the bed as he pulled his wife close and rested his hand on her swollen stomach.
“Sasuke,” Sakura mumbled.
“I’m the best dad ever,” he whispered in her ear and she laughed sleepily.
“Told you so,” Sakura yawned. “I love you,” she whispered as she fell back into her deep slumber and he curled around her in response.
“Aa,” he agreed solemnly.
