Watching an episode of schitts creek where David is babysitting a teen who suddenly gets her first period. And they perfectly captured that horrifying moment where 1. You get your first period and 2. You bleed thru your pants onto the bed/couch/chair.

I love how the show handled it. David was a bit awkward but clearly trying his best to comfort her. He tells her where her sisters "feminine products" are and then offers one of his own sweaters for her to wrap around her waist to cover the blood stain on her paints.

Its a very small moment and the episode leaves it at that. But i dont think ive ever seen a piece of media that had a first period that didnt treat it like a total circus/end of the world scenario.

Aside from that its a very nice character moment seeing David putting someone else before himself, not freaking out about the potential blood stain on his expensive egyptian sheets and even offering her a sweater that might get blood on it and that shell likely take home with her for the night

Highlighting David as a supportive boyfriend, a capable man, and a highly caring person, this fic truly encompasses the greatest parts of the character while maintaining his personality. The voice is spot on and the depth of him is perfectly showcased in this work. We devoured this fic in one sitting and it was totally worth setting aside our lives for. The writer's ability to capture the weight of the situation and the levity of falling in love was truly something to behold. 

Favorite Lines: (from the first and last chapter) 

When he blurted out, ‘I’m coming with you’ an hour ago, this is not quite what he thought he was signing up for, but the fact that he still wouldn’t rather be anywhere else is a realization that is far beyond the limited scope of his emotional capacity to handle at the moment. He’ll deal with it when alone with space to pace and preferably an alcoholic beverage in hand. For now, though, there’s still a whole lot of road between them and the charade they’ll have to play, and he’ll be damned if they spend it in complete silence.

And that’s the crux of it. The reason Patrick’s eyes move around the house like the walls are closing in on him. He never felt comfortable in his life, and now that he knows why, it’s just one more secret for him to keep. The widening of the wedge between him and his parents. Patrick loves them, but at the moment, he’s terrified of them. David sees the fear in his eyes every time they connect.

Fans were devastated to hear that Schitt’s Creek is ending after its upcoming sixth season, but co-creator Dan Levy wants them to know the door is always open for more adventures with the Rose family.

In fact, we’re already getting more episodes than Levy had initially envisioned.

“I had thought it was going to be five [seasons,] and then we were given the opportunity to do two seasons, and I thought, ‘Okay, I can tell the end of this story in 28 episodes,'” Levy says in the upcoming LGBTQ special issue of Entertainment Weekly.

Levy has no regrets about his decision to end his hit comedy after the next 14 episodes — which they are filming now and are expected to be released on CBC and Pop TV next year — but isn’t willing to say he’s done exploring the world of Schitt’s Creek.

“I feel really confident that we’ve really mined everything we could. But the world doesn’t explode at the end of it,” he says. “If there is something that comes up down the line that feels compelling enough to bring our troupe back together and continue to tell a story, so be it. I’m not one to slay down the iron fist and say ‘This is it forever.’ This is just it for now.”
