1 (one) ttrpg character quastion about whichever of the two (or both.....smiles) youd like to asnwer for: what is an unshakable belief/idea they havw about their world and how it works? (ie 'universe is indifferent' 'existence has a purpose' etc etc ykwim..) + how did they get this belief/idea?

angel is like. he thinks there should sort of end goal for things purely bc he is haunted by ghosts. I think he isn't fully convinced of that, though. it's more like a "well if these people can go through their whole lives only to be stuck afterwards there must be a reason. I won't let that happen to me. I will find out why things are like this" if. that makes sense. hes caught between having a death wish and needing to stay alive for his sister.

bug is! well its whole thing is trying to combine technology and magic. everyone, especially the community it lives with, are sure that it isnt possible. its pretty sure theres gotta be something bigger than all of them going on. or maybe it's also just wishful thinking; the city/world they all live in is quite brutal.

I honestly don't really relate or resonate with the claim that I have a specific type of oppression due to having DID that is anything significant beyond that of a stigmatized and sensationalized disorder in a capitalist world with poor disability and health care support. Like yes, absolutely in a marginalized group but I really don't thing being "plural" or having DID makes me much of any more uniquely oppressed than say pw schizophernia and what not.

Like if you think otherwise, fair enough but I don't really see it, especially as someone who REALLY never masks with the most we really do is not ALWAYS introducing or telling people who dont know better when we switch.

Like its actually very very easy to live as "multiple people" once you actually stabilize your system and curate your life to accomodate your disorder.

You would be absolutely shocked to find out how obvious you can be about it and still have most people who dont know to look for it or know better to just shrug it off. We unironically have had our little, speakimg in her voice, at our academic work and REGULARLY when in a childcare position and never once had anyone pointed it out.

Yeah people might be like "ok theyre a little quirky / weird" but like who cares honestly /half serious

Anyways TLDR "plural people are oppressed" always has me raising a massive eyebrow. I guess others have experiences that might make them feel that way so sure I guess ok, but I really dont feel in my experience as a "plural person" that its any different than general mental health or disability oppression OR, depending on how you define it, different than saying "otherkin are oppressed" which is a statement I can see going both ways depending on how we define things.

hi! i'm not here to start discourse or anything with you over the irl thing, just a general convo. i know a good bit on psychotic and delusional disorders (i don't have either of those so i don't have much say on this topic but i am into psychology) and i saw that your bio includes psychotic.

first, psychosis isn't a disorder by itself, it's a list of signs of a disorder (or temporary like due to drugs or lack of sleep) pertaining to it (i.e schizophernia, bipolar, psychotic depression, etc) so think of it like a headache! i recommend looking into those related disorders if you believe you have it.

second, the term D/A (delusional attachment) or P/A (psychotic attachment) is considered harmful by many people with those disorders as they can be anti-recovery or "glorifying or watering-down delusions". the term has become related to identity delusion which is a medically recognized term but D/A or P/A is not. the creator (swaggotfan) has a history of bigoted behavior (not to detract from the coining of course). also i've seen some people describe D/A to where it looks like it's self-shipping or crushing on one (i.e "i'm in love with this character so they're a D/A for me")

third, the whole D/A community from what i've seen as a 'kin myself is really hostile both towards others outside and themselves (for example, i've seen an instagram page for systems have "systems and IRLs can interact but no kins" including one submission being from a non-system which is so confusing to me. another example is people with them reality checking others with the same D/A as them as "being the only real one"). i've heard from a friend that the term IRL should be psychotic only when it was a kin term. people with D/As also have memories which seems to me like kin memories but they're uneducated. obviously, delusions are a wide specturm and there's without a doubt some out there with the delusion of being a fictional character. there's also been defintions for D/As being exactly like 'kins (i.e you believe you are this character).

hi! thank you for pointin that out, and i hear and understand what ur sayin here. i only put psychotic in our bio because it is much shorter than PTSD with psychotic features. i am professionally diagnosed with the aforementioned condition as well! i only use the term irl because it is the closest to my experience as i can get with current terminology. i used to identify under the fictionkin label, and i totally respect people who do, and that isn't inherently a psychotic experience! but there is definitely overlap, and it can be confusing. i am not trying to water down the experiences of others who experience identity delusions. this shit is hellish! and i hate the hostility culture that's been created. my personal philosophy is to not reality check others, just block and move on.

i guess my general response is i do experience psychosis, and i don't use the term DA because it was created by a non psychotic and has been used to water down the actual experience. i think a lot of people who have other irls of certain characters on their dni have it there for their own safety, not as a way to invalidate others. the way we define our experience as an irl is very similar to fictionkin, but very specific to our experience. we are psychotic. we experience the symptom of psychosis and are professionally diagnosed, and we really do want to interact if this is in good faith. but we only say psychotic and not our full diagnosis because we feel like we don't owe anyone our full medical history to be believed.
