I didn't see much of the DCEU #i have Lots of Thoughts on the many iterations of batman (and robin and the other characters) #OH YEAH ive also seen at least half of the harley quinn series and that had batman in it now nad then #i don't talk abt dc much outside of teen titans but i do actually really like the batman stories

The Star Spangled Banger: Aka, the Schumacherverse outift. Aaka, the outfit with the bat nipples. It's a fusion of his OG outfit, the outfit from "Galaxy Hamster", those outfits from Joel Schumacher's two Batman movies, that one lyric from "Thunder and Lightning" (hence, the tiny little cape near his butt!) and a little bit of Darkhawk for the mask! I was watching the Phantom of the Opera movie and when the masquerade scene came on I showed it to my mom because I love the scene and I was like "Oh look there's a guy dressed as a bat" and when she saw him she said "He looks more like he's dressed as Batman" and at that moment I had a huge revelation

Maybe you know, maybe you don't, but the director of Batman Forever is also the director Phantom of the Opera and he was a big fan of Batman so remembering that made it all make sense.

There is a possibility that there are references to Batman Forever (and the bat franchise in general) in the scene and as far as I am concerned I am going to marry the idea that this is the case.

Let's start with those 2 photos, a guy with a two-faced mask dancing and being the center of attention while the bat is behind him watching him. Do you see what I see? Schumaher said Twobats canon in the phantom of the opera

Here's a better view of the bat, his companion is a blonde girl (maybe Chase?) And I can't help to think about the fact that next to him there's a clown

There's also this character in the background that I think is dressed as a cat and it makes me think of Selina, but I'm not too sure about this one.

I just love the idea of ​​thinking of this as some kind of reference or easter egg because if I already love this scene it all made me love it more.

Oswald could already feel his blood boiling as he and Ed walked into the principal’s office. Ed was only there to make sure Oswald didn’t fly off the handle completely.

“Mr. Cobblepot-“ the woman started but was quickly interrupted.

“Why isn’t my daughter being allowed to play on the girl’s soccer team.

The principal sighed “I- Well there’s biological advantages to consider-“

“She’s a foot shorter than the other girls and she has asthma, if she can cope I think they can.”

“Mr. Cobblepot, it’s just not fair-“

“You’re right, it isn’t, so change it.”

Ed chimed in “She’s six and you’re acting like she’s somehow going to destroy the other children with brute strength.”

The principal didn’t acknowledge Ed’s comment “I meant it’s not fair the the- erm..biological girls. I’m really sick of having conversations like this with you-”

Oswald rolled his eyes “You mean conversations like the one we had when my kid got diagnosed with a bladder problem but it turned out you just weren’t letting her use the girl’s bathroom. Or like the time she got in trouble for wanting to make a card for me out of a blank sheet of paper for Mother’s Day instead of the very feminine colouring page given to her? You mean conversations like that?”

The principal faltered “She was in trouble for not participating, besides you can’t very well take the womanhood out of Mother’s Day-“

“We manage to at our house.” Oswald snapped, still sore about the issue. He pinched the bridge of his nose “It’s 2001, you’d think we’d have this stuff sorted out by now. I feel like in twenty years imbeciles like you are still going to be going around in circles insisting that little girls can’t be on the girl’s team or use the right restroom.”

“We just can’t allow her to play, even if there wasn’t an issue with- well, there’s no spots left, sorry.”

Oswald glared at the woman and got up, Ed opening the door for him. Oswald stopped before leaving and looked back “I heard your mother had a stroke recently, my condolences. At least the room she’s in, room 312 on the second floor of Gotham General has a good view, hmm? I might pay a visit-“

“I- uh- I’ve just remembered a spot just opened up, I’m sure we can get your daughter in there promptly!” The woman said, truly shaken up.

“Yeah, you do that..” Oswald growled before linking arms with Ed and leaving.
