Damian Living On Tim's Murder Boat AU Part 3
Bernard, singing: A single mom who works two jobs, she loves her kids and never stops~
Damian: Dowd keeps singing that song over and over, I think he's broken.
Tim: You're thinking of records, not people.
Bernard: Do you like the mloukhieh I made you?
Damian: It's not as good as my mother's, of course.
Bernard: Of course.
Damian: But it's an acceptable replacement.
Damian: What do you organize your books by? It's not alphabetical, it's not genre, it's not date of publishing.
Damian: It's not something pedestrian as color of the cover. So what is your system?
Tim: Vibes.
Damian: What?
Tim: Vibes.
Damian: What?!

Wow, okay, I thought it was going to turn out that Zur was largely in control of Bruce's actions during Gotham War hence the whole Jason thing, but both Bruce and Zur confirmed Bruce's actions weren't Zur's doing.
DC cannot make him do something so incredibly unethical and then try to pass him off as this loving father who only wants what's best for Jason. I mean, sure, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and Bruce obviously views what he did as an act of love, but if you play a card like that, you damn well better show the repercussions of it, which would be Jason cutting ties with Bruce completely and forever.
But nooo. You know what they made Jason do after all this? Offer Bruce emotional support after Selina "died." Get bent. They should've had Jason walk over to the pit looking distressed over Selina's fall, had Bruce try to put his hand on Jason's shoulder, and then had Jason smack Bruce's hand off with a, "Don't you ever touch me again you piece of shit."
Like fuck! Where's the lingering feeling of betrayal?! The lack of trust?! Don't give me this "you did a terrible thing to me, and I haven't had any time to process it, but I still care about you and love you, so I'm here for you" type of bullshit. Siiigh. I'm so tired.

I think what makes Antony Starr's portrayal of Homelander such a great villain is that his motivation throughout the entire series has always been love and it SHOWS. It's twisted and warped but all Homelander wants is love. He wants to be loved and season 3 did a great job of pushing this to the forefront, as well as showing us that - despite how tall and old he is - he's just a kid. He never matured emotionally because he never received the proper love and attention as a kid, so his whole moral system is warped. That smile at the end, where the crowd cheered for him straight-up murdering an innocent civilian, was so much like the kind a kid gives after doing something funny for a crowd where you can see the wheels turning, going "this will earn me attention." Soldier Boy read him correctly that he was needy, which is why his perfect defeat isn't death but total irrelevance.
And, on the flip side, Billy's anger at the world - which has been such a common motivator amongst villains - is his driving force to combat Homelander and be the 'hero'.
The usual motivators between heroes and villains have been flipped and presented with so much care it's amazing.
The Boys put so much intention and thought into all their character choices and that's what makes the end product not only a masterpiece, but one of the most brilliant satires of our generation.

we need to stop pretending WWE didn't publish an official series of comic books exploring how sami turning heel at hell in a cell was fruit of manipulation by kevin, who systematically got into sami's head by trying to make him believe no one around him really loved or respected him (other wrestlers and fans included) and constantly rubbing his own successes in sami's face in order to convince him he had to "stop caring" aka turn heel to active success - Sami turning "for Kevin" is an incorrect way of putting it, he turned because of Kevin, yes, but that doesn't mean it was a good thing for anyone involved - it wasn't a gesture of friendship, it was the product of guilt, isolation and sami's own insecurities (a consistent quality to his character, either as a heel or a babyface) being manipulated, so can we please stop sugarcoating their relationship??? the kevin and sami dynamic is interesting because it's complex and layered and i'm tired of seeing it reduced to a 1-note buddy show
anyways go read those comics if you never did, they're well written and most importantly, canon (here's a cute video of sami and kevin announcing the comics).

you know the new WIP brainrot bad when you pull up Pinterest and manage to add 200 pins on your first go 😔
i really really hope this fantasy project keeps the romance this time cuz the last fantasy romance projects i've TRIED to write, i end up forgetting about the romance part of it halfway and just end up killing off one of the love interests so i don't have to try to rewrite it in 💅

anonymous &&. said... Ren what would your reaction be if Kazuha would be kidnapped, tortured and then returned to you as a broken man?
❝ what kind of twisted question is THAT supposed to be? ❞ vitriol spills from snarling lips at the mere suggestion of kazuha being hurt. realization of his error almost immediately prods at the corners of his consciousness — for he is perceptive enough to recognize what he can only assume is an underhanded effort to PROVOKE HIM, yet far too ( shamefully ) emotional to crush down his anger. it's preposterous. it's repulsive. it's equally simplistic and tailor-made to bring him the most suffering possible — and he hates that, just as he hates how clearly he's proven its efficacy. teeth snap shut like the jaws of a beartrap. there is a growl building in his throat, even as ren tries ( and largely fails ) to smother his fury. breathe, he reminds himself. breathe, even if it's useless. breathe, if only for the sake of having something else to focus on before he acts more FOOLISH than he already has.
the bite of nails digging so harshly into his palm is strangely comforting. it hurts, but not in any capacity that would manage to actually bother him. rather, it serves more as a reminder of his physical presence in the world beyond his own head. ❝ ... what kind of answer are you EXPECTING to hear? ❞ the wanderer finally says, after an AGONIZINGLY LONG pause. in contrast to his prior outburst, his voice goes deathly cold — like ice, razor-thin and sporting a jagged edge. his calmness is an imperfect facade; his wrath condensed to serve as a blade while he goes on the offensive. ❝ he isn't weak ... and i would never allow that to happen. it's a POINTLESS scenario to even consider. ❞ it is. it is. it is. ( it isn't, but he would prefer to delude himself into believing otherwise, just this once. ) he isn't going to think about it — for to even ENTERTAIN the thought of his fiancé being tortured to the point of breaking feels like an act of the utmost disrespect. he doesn't want to give the idea even a modicum of attention; he doesn't want to risk manifesting something so wretched.
does kazuha even know to what degree the wanderer's desire for self-improvement rests upon his shoulders? that he is his happiness, his salvation, the only thing keeping him from viewing this world as completely irredeemable? does he know what ren would do should anything happen to him? perhaps it's best that he doesn't — perhaps it's best that NO ONE ever does. the human is already a glaring weakness. the atrocities he knows he would commit in retaliation are BEYOND forgiveness and rationality alike.
to call it a tragedy would be an understatement. there would be no victors in this hypothetical conflict; they would all BURN, and he would make sure of it — wearing their ashes like a grisly prize.
❝ don't ask me something that TASTELESS ever again. ❞ there is implication thick in every word; he wouldn't allow them to make that mistake for a third time.

Me, trying to convince you guys to read The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang based on these aesthetics.
The concept of how everything started and ended in this first book is very interesting.

The stepmother... has suffered. But it seems like she refuses to acknowledge that in some way she has agency. Instead of trying to fix anything at all she simply consumes. Somehow, to her, her pain is worse than everyone else's, and this gives her the right to hurt anyone she wants as carelessly as she pleases

If Laenor is alive, the children of Daemon and Rhaenyra are going to be bastards! when in the book they are legitimate. Why did change it? What is the purpose of that change?
laenor’s life being known would have consequences far beyond nyra and daemon’s kids but that wouldn’t make them bastards, as far as how i understand that works in westeros? they’re still full targaryen children with two known parents (and in this scenario, they could be legitimized by the king, by laenor, by house velaryan just as harwin’s sons currently are, the thing that matters is their targaryen blood which lol)… it just calls into question the line of succession if daemon’s marriage is considered invalid, which again, has bigger issues if people find out laenor is alive before rhaenyra sits on the throne.
jace and luke have been recognized by house velaryan and the king so their parentage doesn’t really even matter, their place in the succession is clear and they have been legitimized. it DOES however make things very sticky for rhaenyra, having laenor out there puts her and daemon in real danger….. but! while stupid and largely complicating things for them… it does make sense to me as an action nyra would come up with. she loves laenor, this is her reward for years of service (also probably on the flip side, an equal punishment) and it also is information they may need to share with rhaenys, who it seems is being set up to be tempted to the greens… if rhaenys makes overtures to alicent rhaenyra may need to tell her the truth… and narratively it frees up laenor to come back later which is exciting and interesting. i think really it happens because it’s rhaenyra’s first big move as an adult, and it’s equal parts foolish and selfish and merciful, and leaves a piece on the chessboard they might utilize later. so who knows!

marcellus did not find out right away.
while it is true that he had at the time noticed the bond, which usually pulsed and thrummed in the background of his mind like the lifeblood of a beating heart, go silent, he had not realized the cause. it was not unheard of for the bond to go silent -- be it distance between himself and fidel, or scryblocks fidel has put up, every so often, this happens.
he does not immediately understand the meaning of this silence. but he will.
it is by chance that marcellus finds out about it. the chance stumbling upon a newspaper article someone had left open in the labs, open to an article about aeldria -- and the sudden death of its archteacher. when he reads the title, it doesn’t register right away -- but the moment it does, marcellus seizes the paper, taking in the words he had not expected to see. he knew fidel was out of flare . . . but he had not expected him to go this far. deep in his heart, where the remnants of that bond lives, he knows that must have been the reason.
the anger one might have expected from him . . . it simply doesn’t come. he places his hands on the lab counter to steady himself and he feels dizzy, and nauseous -- gradually it sinks in. he’s gone. fidel’s gone.
he falls to his knees and brings the paper up to his face, the latter an effort to hide the wail of grief that comes from him.

*throws tall morally grey hedonistic brunette at you and runs away*
Figured I'd share something on here I've been working on recently, my first high fantasy WIP! I don't really read or write too heavy in the fantasy genre (unless its mixed with something like historical) because it hurts my silly little brain but im really digging this little universe i created. it doesn't have a name (yet!) but it does have this little bastard (and by 'little' i mean she's 5'10 1/2 <3)
I sort of have the outline done and half of the first chapter, but its reaaalllly bothering me that I don't have a title cuz that's usually the first thing I whip up. For now, I've been calling it SCORCHED (all caps is mandatory) and it follows the bastard above Cinere getting into wacky hijinks that always involve arson and a possible assassination attempt on the king.
I might make a WIP intro soon when I have the kinks worked out (and by kinks i mean these fucking names cuz i HATE making up fantasy names dawg). Anyways yeah! Also, mentioning this now, I'm not planning on doing Nano this year but said plans might change depending on how this Hozier concert on Wednesday goes.

okay people, I've watched SW: The Clone Wars. I just finished SW: Rebels (crying the whole way down btw). I laughed I wept I cursed Dave Filoni for making me feel the entire spectrum of human emotion in these two silly little shows. now the question is. should I actually watch Resistance? is it worth it? is it the same?
