Pegasus Masterpost

Here's a little guide to the main classes of pegasi in the Sky Cowboys world!

Sky Cowboys pegasi generally follow these "rules" -

They have beaks - most are similar to raptor or seabird beaks. Used for opening nuts and snapping up small prey. They do still graze on long-stalk grasses.

Coat colors stay within the equine range, but feathers can be any color.

They have horse-like brains and so are trainable similarly to horses.

They cannot speak like some birds can.

The standard flight range per day is 150 miles. It's called a "hop".

Broadwing Pegasi

These are the main workhorses of the world. They're hardy, agile, and tend to have solid temperaments. Most pilots fly these for all sorts of jobs and have been bred into many unique breeds.

Quick visual - Quarter horses or mustangs with eagle or kite wings.

Longwing Pegasi

Longwings have as much attitude as they do wing surface, but they make up for it with sheer endurance. These pegasi can stay aloft for weeks, diving into the sea for fish or ocean plants to eat.

Quick visual - Thoroughbreds or arabians with seabird wings.

Shortwing Pegasi

Calm and huggable, shortwings are the draft horses of the Sky Cowboys world. These are flightless pegasi (since their wings are so small), but are still very useful on the ground like for all sorts of things from riding to pulling wagons to working in farm fields.

Shortwings tend to have colorful/fancy plumage.

Quick visual - Percherons or clydesdales with songbird wings.

Scrapwings

These little guys are feral - no one has really domesticated them. Partly because they're difficult to work with and partially because no one really sees a point. They're all-around too small to be useful and tend to just get into stuff. At least they're cute!

Quick visual - Zebra/quagga or donkey with dodo wings.

So our front porch has been slowly deteriorating, and we have some broken steps on the staircase. But theyre off to the side so its easy to avoid them.

Update on wasteclan: i made a couple other clans in the area they live in, VaultClan, who live in the ruins of an abandoned vault and have the least mutated cats, led by Coyotestar, and his deputy Bombstrike, RubbleClan, who built their dens out of scraps and ruins, led by Scoropionstar and Scrapwing, and RadClan, who have the most mutated cats, their leader is Ghoulstar and Geckoclaw

Sugar Free Cheesecake Recipe!

Ingredients:

Crust

One package of sugar free cookies. I used Murray’s SF pecan shortbread from Walmart. But you do you.

1 tablespoon butter

Filling

Three, 8-ounce packages of Reduced Fat Cream Cheese. Name brand doesn’t matter. Use that great val

1½ cup Splenda. You can use 2/3 cup of Stevia but I do not recommend.

1½ teaspoons vanilla extract

½ cup Fage Greek yogurt - buy a 6 ounce container for this recipe as it is the best brand. Here is where name brand actually matters.

3 large eggs plus one yolk

Fruit Topping

About a cup of blueberries with a splash of lemon juice and 6 packets of Splends simmered until the berries pop and dark liquid is prominent. Add some cornstarch and water to thicken, only like... 1tsp of cornstarch.

Instructions

In food processor pulse the cookies until evenly ground. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles damp sand. Transfer to springform pan or pie plate and press firmly on bottom using bottom of measuring cup. Place on a cooking sheet and set aside.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In BIG food processor, wiped clean but not washed, blend the cream cheese, splenda, vanilla and Greek yogurt until smooth, scrapw sides and re-blend,. Add the egg., one at a time, plus the yolk and process for 30 to 60 seconds until smooth. Scrape down bowl. Pulse again. You can use a blender but bruh it’s hard.

Pour into the crust and bake until sides are slightly raised/ puffed and center is set but still slightly jiggly, 35 to 45 minutes. It’s okay if you under bake b/c you can always put it in longer. Shake it gently moving the cookie sheet and watching the movement in the center of the cake. DON’T WORRY IF THERE ARE CRACKS. IT MAY NOT BE PRETTY BUT IT’LL TASTE BOMB OK?

Remove from the over and let it cool to room temperature. Chill for 2 or more hours before cutting and put that blueberry compote on top!

Good morning!

Yep! The main one is a scrapwing - small scrubby donkey-like pegasi with vestigial wings. The common temperate plains breed stands no taller than 12-13 hands and is famously stubborn, but was domesticated. This design is pretty old so they're due for a redesign, but they look something like this -

I do have a savanna breed, which are decidedly more cute but like zebras haven't been domesticated -

I did sketch a proper zebra pegasus but they aren't canon :)

No one in the SC world has bothered crossing a scrapwing and a regular pegasus.

Is Scarpwing partially the reason why there's so little SS frametypes? Moreover, did she actively hunt them down or was it somewhat more of an accident, because like, from what i gather from Protege's lore, it wasn't ALL that much of an accident

Scrapwing herself played little to no part in the short ending of the SS Project. She stumbled upon Protege by relative luck (as he was sent out unknowingly into her domain), and by the time she realized the potential for his frame type, the project was long abandoned. She did her best to gather what little information she could of them, and managed to find 4 more star seekers, but a lot of the blueprints and plans seem to be lost forever.

She has been working on reviving the project for herself, but hasn’t really made much progress, so it’s not at the top of her long list of priorities anymore.

However she may still play a large role in the mystery of what happened to the original designers, wether or not she’s even aware of it. She has a lot of people working for her and as controlling as she is, she can’t keep tabs on everything everyone is doing all the time.

When the war started, Scrapwing knew she wouldn’t ever survive life as a soldier, what with her being a coward and not really that good a flier, so she fled Cybertron as far as possible and laid low at a colony planet (one that actually coexisted with the original organics that lived there), slowly starting up her work again as a commentator for sports while also working a few other small various jobs. Eventually she left the planet and started up her current business on another, though it’s still not understood how she managed to grow her business as big as it is now.
