Holy mackerel, bat ray!

While these excellent elasmobranchs are no caped crusaders, they do have some impressive tricks up their sleeves. These rays swim by flapping their giant bat-like wings—appearing to fly gracefully through the sea. When they need to rest, they use the sandy seafloor as their hideout—burying themselves so they remain hidden from view.

Okay I saw @tj-crochets manta ray patterns and I was so excited about them I had to make one real quick 😅 I will admit I'm at my family's house and we don't have a printer so I had to free draw the pattern onto my fabric but it worked out pretty well! I will say 1- make sure to leave yourself enough room to turn the plushie because I did NOT and I had to rip some seams to get it to fit 😅 but here's my little sea flap flap!

Thank you so much TJ for having such a cute pattern available for free! I'm really looking forward to making another manta ray when I have more fabric to work with!

So I went to the beach last night and it was a magical experience because I'd never been to the beach in California before and there were stingrays everywhere.

I'm so glad I get to live in a world where popular tourist destinations are haunted by venomous pancakes. Life is truly worth living.
