Why am I only now finding out that a TRIDENTARIUS is a sea snail and THIS is what it looks like???
Etymologically, Tridentarius dentatus means "toothy trident" but trident on itself means three teeth so the snail is named basically "toothy three-tooth"
"It’s not unusual to find them as pairs"
Oh really. I never would have guessed.
Feeling really stupid rn, all this time I thought Ianthe and Corona were named for a trident 🔱 , not a conch.

Sea Nudibranchs ; over 3000 different species
Fun facts :
- They are carnivorous, so their prey includes sponges, coral, anemones, hydroids, barnacles, fish eggs, sea slugs, and other nudibranchs ..
- Nudibranchs get their bright colors from the food they eat
- Nudibranchs and sea hares typically live up to one year, although 4-year-old nudibranchs have been found
- Nudibranchs are hermaphrodites, which means that they have both a male and a female genital system
- Nudibranchs live at virtually all depths, from the intertidal zone to depths well over 700 m (2,300 ft).
- Each atrium of the two-chambered heart feeds into one side of the gills, where the blood (called hemolymph) is oxygenated (They breathe through their skin)
- nudibranchs can never see their own beauty
- Some nudibranchs protect themselves by taking on the colour and texture of the food they eat.
- They are slow , going at approximately a-foot-an hour
