for all the dramatics in my meta, i do think shanks could’ve very easily kept buggy satisfied & committing minimal war crimes as a member of his crew. just:

say you can’t go to laugh tale until you’ve met certain reasonable criteria, like “have a strong crew,” “acquire a ship that can handle new world weather,” or “stand toe-to-toe with whitebeard and live”

make a mildly homoerotic promise to meet those criteria… together

do the work to meet those criteria (through recruitment, training, etc.)

while you're level grinding, provide buggy with enrichment by way of Treasure Maps and supervised Treasure Hunts

supervised, ostensibly so the others can acquire any Underwater Treasure he may find, or to help buggy carry All The Treasure back to the ship, but actually to keep him from wandering into naval bases and getting arrested

I wish pattern sites would have an option where you can specify how many yards of each color you have when looking. Because small businesses like doing limited runs of colors! So you can maybe only get one skein! And ravelry is showing me all these patterns where you are for sure going to need 2-3 skeins of one color with small amounts of an accent color!

Like please no! I want at least somewhat even color distribution so I can use these two skeins in something pretty!

One time in senior high, there was like a celebration in our class and everyone was busy preparing decorations to put up in the room. I was walking around helping with whatever I can then suddenly one of my classmates asked if I can help with cutting paper strips, so I was like: "Sure."

Then he remembered I was left-handed and went: "Wait, you're left-handed right? You shouldn't cut these actually."

I stood there and just: "What? Why?"

"Because it's hard to hold the scissors when you're left-handed. I'm struggling with it too." Says my classmate, who was also left-handed, that was on cutting strips duty. I just nodded then went back to whatever I was doing but the funny part of this story is that... I use my right hand when using the scissors.
