I keep thinking about that statue in Gravesfield. The two brothers, one whose hand is extended toward a witch. The curator’s story of how the brothers were lured into another realm by a witch.
Does Luz realize it? That the statue in her very hometown, is of the Wittebane brothers. That the emperor who she’s so determined to defeat, is one of the very same ones who’s been commemorated in the very place she grew up in. The only other human who lived on the Boiling Isles, (and technically his brother too so three humans in total), is someone that she’s probably heard about a lot during her childhood?
And I mean I get it, Belos/ Philip being a witch hunter. He was born in a era where there was the irrational thinking of witches walking among them. Imagine how he felt stumbling across an actual witch who showed him along with his brother an entire realm full of them. Including the fact that it was such a shocking event of the Wittebane brothers meeting a witch that hundreds of years ago the residents built a statue for the event to remain forever cemented in history.
I've seen this done with Raine and Eda a few times but have you considered...

Two digital illustrations of Darius and Eberwolf from the Owl House drawn from the waist up in front of a police lineup wall.
Image 1: Darius is holding a black tile in both hands with 'Darius Deamonne, 312019 , Bonesborough Dept.' written on it with white text. He is looking of to the left with an upset, and slightly disgusted expression.
Image 2: Eberwolf is holding an identical tile with 'and Eberwolf 312019 , Bonesborough Dept.' written on it in one hand . They are looking over the tile with a smug expression.

The Owl House takes place on a corpse. That's clear from the beginning. The people we meet, the fantastical things we see, every part of it is life that comes from death, and it's beautiful. Luz says that, the first time she's far enough away to see the bones. It's beautiful. The Titan was so full of life and magic that what he left behind could be passed on and made anew, and the people who sprung from that, who rely on it, understand that and are grateful. Everything they have is built on the bones of a god.
But what grows from the bones of children? Nothing. Nothing at all.
The Titan hunters killed children. They said they were monsters, but they were children. Children who played games and laughed and from their first conscious moments wanted to be loved and belong. And they hunted them to extinction, and kept their pristine skulls as trophies. An entire room full of them, of tiny skulls that could've become something wonderful and terrible and life-giving but never had the chance. They wear them, as a badge of honor. Look what I've done, look what I destroyed.
Philip Wittebane had been making grimwalkers for hundreds of years, sure, but even knowing that, there's so many of them. How many could've reached 20? There's piles of them, of bones and identical masks, scattered at the bottom of a pit, and god, were they dead, when he threw them down there? It's clear that he doesn't care, that the only thing that matters is disposing of them once they wear out their usefulness, moving on to the new model. Children tossed aside, left to rot and decay, and when we see them the bones are all clean.
The way everyone guessed Raine and Darius’ teasing dynamic accurately in fanfics (specifically the fics where Darius adopts Hunter) and now it’s canon.
The ‘Luz being possessed by the Collector’ theory came out of the ball park for me. I first started seeing note of it from the fanarts on Instagram. Seeing Luz with yellow and red eyes, her cloak blue and wreathed in stars, her face split in sun and moon.
I didn’t know how people developed this idea this was going to happen to her. I haven’t yet seen the support that is going toward this theory. I want to think it’s plausible, as I realize it’s a trend with Disney shows of a character being possessed. Don’t know which I speak about? How about Gravity Falls, Amphibia, Star vs the Forces of Evil, DuckTales 2017.
I said it’s possible, but these coming episodes had to have something occur in order for me to be like, oh yeah she’s going to be possessed.
Then “Clouds on the Horizon” came out. Luz took Hunter’s place, and is being taken to Belos. The Collector at the beginning was talking about about including a third playmate.
Here is our foreshadowing mates. Possession, here we may come.
when dana said the owl house had horror I thought it meant spoopy monsters not hunter having a panic attack because his whole life that has been constructed by an unhealthy desire for validation and speciallness was just shattered by the crushing realization that to Belos he is replaceable
