Just finished Brooklyn Nine-Nine and that finale was bittersweet as hell. 🥺 I personally had a much more different ending in mind—Jake would end up in the FBI, Captain Holt is now commissioner, Amy is captain, and Terry is in a high-ranking position. 🤔 I did like the ending but it felt more "Season Finale" than "Series Finale" to me. Regardless, I am not entirely disappointed. 🤍 The show talks about Jake's growth and that was the entire highlight of the finale.
COVID-19 shifted everyone's lives drastically. It led people to realizations and making unexpected decisions. The way Jake gave up his entire career to be a better father to his son is an example and parallel to the real world we are facing. The pandemic is generally and probably the reason why the show turned out a certain way, but it still makes sense. Again, I was hoping for a different finale, but the one we got isn't so bad.
Nine-Nine forever! 💛 Thank you for 8 wonderful years, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. From Fox to NBC, you brought great joy to so many people's lives.
