Sebtember Challenge #6: Guitar Hero

After the 2010 British Grand Prix, Sebastian tried his hand at playing guitar for the first time to a live audience. He played a couple of bars of Deep Purple’s ‘Smoke on the Water’. His announcement before playing cracks me up:

Seb: “Don’t expect too much! First of all, I’m German. Secondly, I’m not good at playing the guitar!”

The following year, at the same venue at Silverstone, Seb played the same song again in front of an audience where he noticeably improved. His quip before playing returned:

Seb: I’ll tell you, if I’m rubbish, it’s not my fault. It’s the guitar’s fault! …So come off with the excuses!”

The look on Christian Horner’s face when Seb gets the right chords on the first try is priceless!

Will we see Seb the rockstar anytime soon? 🤔

Favorite time of year? definitely the winter months! where i live it doesn’t get cold until about january, and doesn’t stay cold for long. but november-march or so are my favorite months :) (also rn? sebtember. top of the pops)

Comfort food? oooh probably thit kho. my roommate’s mom makes it and it’s basically rice, pork, and marinated egg and omg it’s so good, i would eat that all day every day

Favorite dessert? i love a good brownie! but bread pudding is also at the top or the list!

Things you collect? rubber ducks! and probably books i have so many. OOH also hawaiian shirts. im gonna make eli wear one

Favorite drink? coffee. it’s my downfall. i also love taro milk tea w extra boba :D

Favorite musician/band? declan mckenna, hozier. ive actually been rEALLY into some old 5sos songs which is funny

Last song listened to? 30/90 from tick tick boom,,,im back in it

Last movie watched? i believe it was this is 40, which i can’t say i particularly enjoyed too much but it wasn’t awful, just not my thing

Last series watched? severance! SO GOOD, adam scott and the entire cast is KILLER, the vibes are so creepy, it’s so so good

Currently watching? parks and rec! a rewatch, but i’m nearly finished :’) then i’ll rewatch it again-

Current obsession? ohhh hmmm…tetris actually, i had to play it for a class and now it’s all i want to do

Dream place to visit? australia <3 but actually europe, i really just wanna explore it. i would also love to see japan

Place you wanna go back to? maine! i loved it, it’s been YEARS since i went there

Something you want? material wise i want parks and rec merch, but it’s so expensive, but i did order a sweatshirt from etsy that’ll be here today :) nonmaterial, acceptance and love but youknowthatsabittoodeepforanaccountaboutdeadpeople

Currently working on? well i SHOULD be cleaning and getting ready for sebtember…but i’m trying to make it through 9 days of work in a row, as well as schoolwork. let me sleep

Fav time of the year: currently ? SEBTEMBER !!! Overall ? winter cuz I can layer my clothes and look cool as shit or Christmas cuz I get to see the rest of my family (reminder I live in Australia, our x-mas is in summer)

Comfort food: Ramen <3 but the 2-min/instant kind

Fav dessert: Pavlova even tho it's just a massive meringue (I know there's another dessert I really like but I can't fuckin remember it)

Places you wanna go back to: Louisiana BUT I'M DOING THAT SOON !!! After that, France and Japan but this time with a friend instead of parents/not for an exchange. And for France at least I'd like to visit less touristy areas.

Something you want: other than material items ? To get better at organising my work and not submit shit last minute or late. I will end it there before I go on a rant

Sebtember Challenge #5: The Egyptian Dance

Speaking of celebrations, another one of Seb’s famous celebrations on the podium is his “Walk Like An Egyptian” dance. An interviewer asked him why he did it when he won the Australian and Bahrain Grands Prix in 2017.

Interviewed in Sochi 2017.

I like how Seb is testing the interviewer here, as if he already knows the answer. Turns out, he wasn’t far off as the song came out in 1986.

Also, it was Susanna Hoffs who sang it, not Jane Wiedlin, who was in The Go-Gos.

Currently working on: well...I should be working on some upcoming assignments for Screenwriting and Producing however uhhhh well...ya see yeah. Nah I'm working on a draft of a script for my Screenwriting 1 class and for Producing I've gotta do a one-line schedule, call sheet and a rationale. Fuckin annoying but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
