The Best Gift
Third Age 556 June 26th
The Woodland Realm
“What in Araw’s name are you doing?”
Legolas gave a muffled cry and stumbled back a couple of steps, but caught his balance before he could crash into the shrubbery outside the small kitchen window.
“Get down!” he hissed at his brother Gelir, grabbing the older ellon’s sleeve and yanking him down to the dirt beside him.
His heart racing like frightened deer’s, Legolas listened carefully for changes in the movement within her cottage, any sign that she might have overheard his dolt of a brother’s voice and sought to investigate. Mercifully, the melody of her sweet humming continued to float uninterrupted from the open window.
“Oh, are you the only one permitted to wish our dear friend a Joyous Begetting?” Gelir smirked and punched him on the shoulder. “If I too had a gift I wished to present to her for the occasion, would you pound me?”
“No!” Legolas blurted out quickly; too quickly. “Wait--have you brought a gift for her?”
“I have not, because I had assumed your answer to that question would be yes. And as little as I fear your wee hits, honeg, I do not particularly enjoy being on the receiving end of them.”
Gelir shoved the younger prince aside, leapt lightly to his feet, and crept over to peer above the windowsill. Legolas held his breath, despite knowing Gelir would never be seen or heard by any elf, man, or beast if he did not wish for them to. The worrisome issue was the great pleasure his brother seemed to derive from embarrassing him at every open opportunity--something one might assume a grown elf would grow weary of after two and half centuries, but it had yet to happen.
Thankfully, after an agonizing few seconds, Gelir dropped back down to their hiding spot. “I see you opted for the purple night lilies.” He cocked an eyebrow at Legolas. "I seem to recall Ammë setting certain conditions on the use of the rarest blooms from her garden."
"You recall correctly," said Legolas tersely. All four of his elder brothers were frustratingly knowledgeable of the details of his personal business--a result of the powerful bonds that linked them. But Gelir was easily bored, and the only one to actually stick his nose in for active meddling. "She did not set a time by which I am required to make myself known."
"And is Ammë also aware you have spent--on my guess--at least the last two hours sitting outside this unwitting maid’s window hoping that she would come to some sort of epiphany?”
Legolas thought about the smile that lit up her face so beautifully his entire chest ached, and the way it had stayed on her face the entire time he waited there, content to just observe the joy he had caused.
“I believe she knows. Or is close to discerning it.”
“You are right. She must realize eventually that a plant so rare and valuable could only come from a high lord or prince.” Gelir snapped his fingers. “Perhaps I should walk in there and take the credit and her fair heart to boot!”
Legolas jerked his head suddenly. “You wouldn’t!”
“You are right. I would not; that would be wrong.” Gelir leaned in closer, his expression suddenly stern. “But it is just as egregious to carry on as long as you have, making veiled overtures to this lady rather than mustering the courage to speak the truth of your feelings plainly to her face.”
“The pursuit of someone’s affections must be like hunting. When you hunt an animal, you go with the focused intent of finishing the job as quickly as possible. You do not toy with the creature to scare or confuse it and cause it needless pain.”
Gelir clamped a hand on his younger brother’s shoulder. “I may not know what it is like to lose my heart in this manner, little brother. But I know it is unfitting that I show greater respect to animals I stalk than you do to someone you profess to love.”
The sudden outpouring of wisdom from his wise-cracking brother rendered Legolas speechless.  But something on his face must have quelled Gelir’s baser instincts to tease and mock him.
“Explain your struggle. Where does all your hesitation lie?”
“I…she…” His brother seemed so genuine this time in his desire to help, that the words broke through Legolas’s reluctance to expose his vulnerabilities. “What if she does not feel the same way I do? What if she will not have me?”
“She does and she will.”
“How do you know for certain?”
“Because I have two eyes and I use them,” Gelir said flatly, his patience already worn thin. “Unlike the both of you, evidently, who cannot gaze directly at each other's faces long enough to notice how nauseatingly smitten you are with one another.”
Legolas’s hands curled into tight fists. Against his better instincts, he wanted to believe it. What maiden could refuse a son of the Elvenking if he offered her his heart?
Well, she could, in all likelihood. For what was his title against true beauty and grace such as hers? Why should he be her first choice when she could have anyone in the entirety of Eryn Galen?
“Bah! Enough of this tragic nonsense.” Gelir’s hand around his arm easily tugged the dazed Legolas to his feet.  “I will not let you waste any more time squatting here like a toad. And even toads have the sense to croak and announce their intentions.”
Gelir hooked his arm around his brother’s hunched shoulders and gave him a firm shake. “Perhaps a few bottles from Ada’s cellars might rally those nerves, eh? Come. With any luck,  you can make another go of it before the day’s end.”
As they trudged around the hedges to start the trek back up to the King’s palace, Legolas wrestled with the sense of failure at his retreat. Why could he not be more like his brothers, if not like their father? Afraid of nothing, brimming with confidence to speak their mind to anybody. What was stopping him?
Nobody. Nobody but himself.
Legolas froze in place so suddenly that Gelir nearly lost his balance. “What--?”
The younger prince turned to squarely face the pathwalk leading back to the cottage, glaring at the bright green door with the intensity of one about to leap across an impossible distance over a deadly chasm.
“Yessss. Go on!” He distantly heard Gelir hoot as he began his determined stride up the path.
But then he heard something else. Footsteps. A doorknob turning.
The color drained from Legolas’s face and his legs turned to lead. He twisted about to scurry away and out of sight, but a pair of powerful hands suddenly seized the back of his tunic, lifting him so that his boot soles left the ground.
A hard, rough toss pitched the helpless elf to the cottage just as the door swung open. He flailed his arms out to regain his balance and avoid face-planting on the stoop, but not quickly enough to avoid bumping against the maiden that had stepped out of her home.
“H-Hello.” He gulped down the panic that rose up his chest, as the nearness of her, such as he had never experienced before, enfolded him. Her scent, her warmth, her…touch? Legolas realized that she had raised her hands and planted them firmly against his chest, likely to help break his ungraceful fall.
“I… uh, I came to wish you… that is…I-I just wanted to say…” Valar, did Gelir’s shove knock his tongue loose from his mouth?!
“I wished so badly for it to be you!" she suddenly blurted out, and stuck forward her chin in her willful defiance of protocol.
“R-really?” Unexpected joy and relief burst out of Legolas’s chest like a flock of sparrows exploding from a bush.
The sweetest blush rosied her cheeks, but she still had not moved her hands from the front of his tunic, he noticed. “The flowers are the most beautiful present I have ever received, but knowing that what I had hoped for is true, that they came from you… that is really the best gift.”
“I do not believe there is anyone gladder about your begetting than I,” the elf prince avowed.
And as her whole face lit up brighter than Gil-Estel, as she slid her arm through his and guided him into the cottage, Legolas felt the nudge of a distinct sound inside his head: the chuckle of an older brother whom he had just given yet another anecdote to refer to the next time he wanted to crow over being “always right”.

Mistletoe Kisses 🎄
Pairing: Legolas x f!reader
A/N: 1. I’ll be using the word ‘Yule’ in this fic, rather than Christmas due to it being in Middle-earth. 2. It’s only vaguely mentioned, but I imagine the reader as being from Edoras & getting to know the others both on the way to Helm’s Deep and through Eowyn. 3. Merry Christmas!
Genre: Fluff, Christmas Romance
Description: During a Yule celebration at Minas Tirith you introduce Legolas to mistletoe.
Warnings: None
Word count: 1092
Tumblr media
Yule had always been a celebration you looked forward to since you were a young child, the festives never failing to bring you joy. There was just something about the tinkling of bells and flakes of now in your hair that brought a smile to your face.
And now, in the aftermath of the War of the Ring, such a celebration was exactly what you needed. As the days turned colder and light dustings of snow began to fall, the mood in Minas Tirith only grew better.
By the night of the celebration, the city, particularly the large room in which the main celebration was held, was nothing short of festive.
When you excused yourself from your friends for a moment long after darkness had fallen outside you made your way towards an archway leading to a somewhat secluded balcony, a smile still etched across your face from laughing with your friends at jokes you couldn’t even remember while you watched Eowyn and Farimir glide around the dance floor not far from Arwen and Aragorn.
That was one good thing that had come from the War - your friendships with people you never would have given second thought to before.
You ducked through the archway, dodging the plant that hung from the top and made your way to the balcony bannister where you closed your eyes as you breathed in the fresh air, the music and chatter from inside drifting through the entryway.
To your credit, you only jumped slightly when a voice spoke beside you. “The hobbits are very loud, aren’t they?”
You opened your eyes, turning to see Legolas beside you, and you couldn’t stop the jump of your heart at his close proximity as he stood beside you. At least now you knew why you hadn’t heard footsteps.
“They’re joyful.” You countered. “And rightfully so. It is Yule after all.”
He nodded in acceptance, and the two of you stood in silence for a moment. You weren’t sure when it had happened, but somewhere between Edoras and Helm’s Deep, you’d grown closer to the elf than you’d ever imagined.
“Do you miss it?” You asked, curiosity taking over. At his confused look you elaborated. “Your home. Is Yule very different there?”
He tilted his head at the questions, giving them some thought before answering. “I miss it, but in other ways it is very freeing to be somewhere else for a change. No responsibilities so to speak.” He glanced inside for a moment. “Our Yule is… different in some ways but very much alike in others. The parties are similar, but you humans have your own traditions.”
Your eyes moved over his shoulder, landing on the plant hung from the top of the archway the two of you had come through, the red berries standing out against the green of the distinctly shaped leaves.
“Yes,” you murmured. “We do.”
You’d had run-ins with mistletoe before - hell, your first kiss had been because of mistletoe, when you were 16 with a crush on the baker’s son. But this time the sight of it caused different feelings to rush up, and you knew that the elf beside you was the reason.
You glanced back at Legolas, eyes darting to his lips. It was the perfect excuse. No one else had to know.
The elf in question tilted his head, your wandering attention not being missed. “What is it?”
You swallowed. You hadn’t meant to be caught, but his question gave you the opening you needed, and you nodded towards the mistletoe, Legolas following your gaze.
“Have you ever heard of mistletoe?”
“The name, yes.” He shook his head. “But it’s not something we are familiar with at home.”
His eyes landed on you again, holding you captive in your spot and a hint of curiosity shone in them. You clearly saw something special in the plant - lots of humans did. He wasn’t unobservant. He’d heard the giggles as the servants hung the plant throughout the city and buildings in the lead up to the yule celebration, shooting sly glances at those who passed.
“Why don’t you tell me what’s so special about mistletoe then?” Legolas suggested, and you were sure you weren’t imagining the way he moved ever so slightly closer to you.
You cleared your throat, looking away for a moment before you turned back to the elf and spoke. You could feel your confidence rising.
“It’s a tradition.” You murmured, moving a step closer. “Usually it’s hung over doorways, so it’s harder to avoid. See, when two people get caught under mistletoe at the same time, there’s only one way to get out.”
“And what would that be?” His own voice was just as quiet as yours, and you could see as he slowly put together what you were saying, clearly being able to guess the implications of what came next from your tone.
By now there was hardly any space between you and as you worked up to answering, he lifted the hand not resting on the balcony bannister to brush a piece of stray hair back from your face, fingers lingering.
“A kiss.” You whispered, feeling his hand land on your waist as he slowly walked the two of you towards the mistletoe, stopping underneath it.
Blue eyes stared into yours, a smile on his lips. Snow was now lightly falling from the sky, having started sometime during your talk, small flakes landing on his pale hair, almost white in the moonlight.
Your eyes darted down to his lips once more as he spoke again, his voice barely louder than your own previous whisper. “Show me.”
In that moment, there was nothing apart from his words, resounding throughout you. They were the only thing that mattered; not the snow, not the fact that he was a prince, or an elf, not the light wind that ruffled the skirts of your dress, not the even sounds of celebration coming from inside.
You didn’t waste words, instead leaning forward to press your lips lightly against his own.
Somewhere along the way your hands had ended up on his chest, the smooth material of his tunic under your fingertips. One of his hands rested on your hip, the other lightly caressing your face as you pulled back.
You let out a breath, your lips tingling with the aftermath of the touch. You risked a glance up at Legolas again, only to see a soft smile directed at you as he spoke, eyes shining.
“We should get caught under mistletoe more often.”

“Manwë’s breath, how much higher can this wall get?”
Reaching for yet another tendril of the vines climbing up the wall, you attempt to climb higher up the stone wall.
It was a precarious situation — one in which you did not expect to be but were not entirely surprised to find yourself in.
You scaled the stone walls attempting to reach the top of the wall to escape yet another suitor. With flowing sleeves laced with snagged threads and leaves woven into your hair, you don’t quite know how long you’ve been attempting your half-scattered escape plan. At this moment, all you knew was that you’d been in this dreaded courtyard for over an hour and you would not be waiting another minute to be trapped and shackled for the next “prince” to come around.
As a ward of Lord Glorfindel, you were of course expected to adhere to the life of a lady in every way possible. You’ve studied every subject, attended every lesson from etiquette and mannerisms to reading and writing in Khuzdul, and attended each and every dreadful social event your father has encouraged.
Feeling your grip falter yet again, you stumble backward and glare at the very metaphoric yet also a very real wall in front of you.
You have always strived to be the perfect daughter in every way possible. However, in regard to love and courtship, you refuse to follow the ancient, decrepit tradition. Between the many years of dodging conversations and offers of marriage, you’ve reached way past the age of courtship, spending many years avoiding each and every suitor thrown your way.
Rather than bubbling with excitement, you felt the fear of the unknown settle in. Having so much to live for and not enough time to experience, you think of your time spent with the twins and the Rangers of the North — time spent traveling, exploring, and living.
You remember joining the twins and meeting Aragorn… meeting Legolas. He was an elven ranger you befriended through Aragorn. He was strong and sturdy, and for a moment you thought you were in love. The camp up North was a place where not many talked of their past but where they all focused on the present. It was a simple life but it was the life you were able to create for yourself.
Lost in the thoughts of the slow spiral of your sanity, you didn’t hear the footsteps coming up behind you as you reached yet again for the closest, protruding stone on the wall —
“What in the world are you doing?”
Without turning to even see who it is, you let go of one hand waving your intruding guest away.
“Please mind your own business, sir. You can escort yourself out — possibly, somewhere that is anywhere but here.”
You continue your ascent without a second thought but slipped down the wall as stone slowly tore up your hands. Stepping back, you place your hands on your hips and take a look at the growing annoyance in front of you. This stupid wall.
You hear an exasperated sigh behind you and felt someone lightly, grab your shoulder, pulling you from behind.
“Excuse me, sir. But you will unhand or you risk losing your… Legolas?”
Turning around, you were shocked by the familiar face of someone you were completely and utterly infatuated with over the past couple of years. Paralyzed and flustered, you couldn’t help but notice how clean and ethereal — you have never seen him this clean before; his muddied boots were somehow clean and the ragged pants you were so used to was exchanged for a less holey look. Somehow these fit even better. You feel your eyes gaze up but froze — you were staring too long.
“Lose my what?” he asked with a little smug grin.
“Nothing! Absolutely nothing. On the contrary, you can keep everything… It was nothing…” you rambled as you quickly turned around.
You hear him step a bit closer, coming behind you on your side to examine the wall you were so desperately climbing less than a second ago.
“What in Arda are you doing here, Y/n?” he said with his curious, blue eyes. Though a few feet away, just his presence causes your mind to go in a scramble.
“Me? What are you doing here?” you exasperated. Fiddling with your hands, you begin pacing back and forth, pretending to examine every bit of the wall, looking anywhere but him.
Look anywhere but his eyes, Y/n. That is how we’ll survive his cursed beauty.
“You are climbing a wall. If anyone should be questioned, it is you,” he bit back.
You quickly move your shoulder to release his grip and turn around.
“First of all, I live here. Second of all, please do mind your business, Legolas. I am quite a bit … oof … I’m quite a bit busy here. and I’m running out of time.”
Stepping towards the wall, you begin to attempt to climb yet again. If anything, it was to break free from his distracting grip on your body. Ignoring the growing warmth on your cheeks, you couldn’t help but notice how large and warm his hand was and how one touch made you feel like hot honey dripping down your body.
Shaking off the startling moment, you were determined to leave. And even he could not stop you.
“What in the world are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
“You’re doing something.”
“I am not”
“Yes… you quite obviously are are.”
“I am n o t.”
“Yes… you are,” he said firmly.
Relenting — you turn back around to face him. Beautiful face and all. You notice how his head is turned slightly down, his eyebrows furrowing just the slightest beginnings of a small smirk staring down at you.
“Fine,” you relented. “If you must know, I am trying to figure out the best way to climb over this disgustingly high wall and escape this dreaded meeting with this so-called ‘prince.’”
“You’re trying to what? With who? Whatever for?”
“Well, the first thing — hmph …” you grunt as you turn back around to attempt to climb for the fifth time in a row. “The first thing is that my dearest father has been parading me around to different suitors, a Lord here, a Duke there — and now, um, it’s apparently another ‘prince’.”
You take a step back because rather than focusing on climbing, you feel a sense of frustration overcome you. The situation of late has finally dug its claws into you... feeling a greater weight on your shoulder than you have originally led yourself to believe. You feel him standing behind you — the burning intensity of his stare on your back.
“No one has spoken of him… no one has spoken of this so-called Prince of Mirkwood?” You continued, “What if he has the personality of a gremlin and the looks of a troll? The Valar knows the little patience I have for men.”
“Gremlins and trolls aside — does what he looks he really matters to you? ” he asked.
“No… Of course not. It’s the not knowing and the fact that I do not know him or his heart that I do not like.
You take a step back to take a look once more at the wall in front of you. Glaring with all of your might, in hopes that your internal rage can burst a whole through these dreaded walls.
“Y/n —you must know... “ Legolas began.
Your eyes run through all the nooks and cranny’s vine-covered stone beast, ignoring Legolas’s words for only a second. There it is. A protruding stone just two feet away from the top. You found one last way you have yet to try.
“Thank the Valar! I think I found a way.”
You walk towards the wall once again, mapping out the new path of vines and protruding stones.
“I think if I can just reach this stone I can lift myself up! If you lift me just a little, I believe I can reach that vine and use these stones to climb up,” you said excitedly.”
“You want me to lift you up… so that you may… escape?”
“Yes, obviously. Did you not hear of threatening the gremlin-troll prince? Please, Legolas.”
“Your father will know that you are missing? The twins have just arrived as well?”
“Those are tomorrow’s problems, Legolas. The prince will be coming today,” you whined.
As you begin your ascent, you feel your foot slipping from the stone. Despite this, you stretched your hand above your head to grab the vine. As you reached, you feel the stone beneath your foot crumble and in a matter of seconds you find yourself falling.
“Lego—”
“Y/n,” he cuts you off. “I have no intention of helping you escape.”
Standing a little too close, you can feel the warmth emanating from his body. As you gaze up to his face, you see he’s wearing an emerald green tunic, soft and silky — something far nicer than the typical garb you always see him in.
“And why not? There is little time to —.”
Your finally glance up to look him in the eyes and —
“You’re wearing a crown,” you blankly stated.
Confused, you oh-so-slowly begin to piece the puzzle together.
“Yes, I am wearing crown,” a small grin appearing on his smugged face.
“Where in the world did you get a crown?”
“It was given to me,” he said as he looked around feigning boredom.
“By who?!” you retort.
“My father.”
“Your father? What does— is he like a king?”
“He is a king,” he said frankly.
“Which makes you a — “ you slowly piece the information together.
“A prince? Yes, a gremlin-troll prince to be exact,” he retorts with now a full grin and staring down at you.
“And you said nothing?” You frantically exclaimed.
“I figured you’d realize at some point,” he chuckled.
You stood there reflecting on all your life decisions at once. Every conversation, every hidden glance. He was a prince.
“I thought it was common knowledge and that you knew of my title,” he said quietly. “I apologize for not disclaiming it sooner.”
“So if what you’re saying is true…” you teased. “You just assume everyone thinks of you as royalty? That’s quite the assumption”
“Y/n, you know I did not mean it like that,” he groaned.
With a little giggle, you stepped away from him and asked “Should I call you, sir?”
“…Y/n, what?”
“Oh my, I’ve never bowed.” Your voice shifts into worry, “Is this grounds for beheading?”
“Y/n, no.”
“I should bow.”
“No— you should not.”
“I’ll bow.”
“Y/n — stop.”
“Please sir, I am merely a lowly peasant. Have mercy, your highness,” you exclaimed as you lower your head and drop into the deepest curtsy.
As he attempts to stop you, he reaches for your arm hoping to put an end to your jester.
As you back away and dodge, you look at him, batting your eyelashes, and cry “My liege, spare me from this punishment I only wish to live.”
Ears turning red with a desperate voice, he begs “Y/n, please.”
As you step back once more, he’s quicker this time and grabs your arm, pulling you close. your chest crushed against his, he drops one of his hands to your waist and the other to your back. You were so close you felt his breath caress your face. As you look up, you find him staring intently at you.
As you stare at each other, you couldn’t help but break into giggles over the preposterous situation. As you begin to giggle, he looks away trying to hold in his laughter, only to also laugh at the situation.
It felt nice — to feel free and silly, if only for a moment.
As both your laughter calms down, he looks back down at you asked, ”So what do you think of the gremlin-troll prince?”
“Nothing too horrid, he’s actually quite dashing,” you teased.
“Dashing, hmm?” he chuckled.
Unaware of everything around you, you were both startled to hear the courtyard doors open with footsteps following. Jumping from each other's arms, you separated a good distance away only for you to see your father and Elrond turn into the corner section you were standing in.
“Oh, good. You’ve met!”

I'm not happy with this fic as I should be, but I hope you like it.
Genre: fluff
Warnings: fighting, dead orcs, Kíli in pain from a shot from Bolg
Summary: Locking Fíli up in a cell.
Paring: Fíli Durinson x warrior! elf! reader
Knives and daggers
Tumblr media
Gif from pinterest, it's not mine
Pov. (Y/n)
I was leading the blond dwarf to his cell. He already gave off his weapons, but I still could see a knife sticking out of his coat. His eyes didn't leave me for a second.
When we got to the cells, I looked at him and cleared my throat, pulling out my hand. He looked at me, confused with a nervous grin.
- Your knife.
I said.
- But I don't have anythin-
I pulled a big dagger out of his coat, and he laughed, embarrassed. I put it inside my pocket and pushed him inside his cell. He looked at me before I walked away. I must admit he is a handsome guy.
I was stopped from walking out of my room by another elf.
- Are you sure you took everything from him?
He asked, and I nodded.
- Our king wants you to take a watch on them for your earlier wrongdoing.
- It was one time!
I said angrily, and he walked away without any more words. I sat down with a loud groan. The dwarves were talking, but I ignored it.
After some time, my butt started hurting, and I decided to stand up, walk a bit, and look at our prisoners. When I walked closer, their talks got quieter. I walked up to a cell with a blond dwarf. He was sitting on his cell bed. He looked at me with confusion.
- So you like daggers and knifes?
I asked, and he looked surprised, but nodded. He stood up and walked up to the doors of the cell.
- You know that you and your companions are really in trouble?
I asked and he sighed.
- We know.. but my uncle, like always, had to express his opinion on elves...
He said the last part quieter, and I giggled. He smiled.
"Mahal.. his smile and his voice are mesmerising.."
I thought and pulled out my hand for him.
- I'm (Y/n).
I said, and he grabbed my hand, turning it and kissing my knuckles. I blushed at the action.
- And I'm Fíli.
He said confidently with a tint of flirt. He let go of my hand, and I tucked my hair behind my ear, slightly blushing.
- Aye! Fíli stop flirting with that elf! It's point-
I heard someone shout, it was a brown haired dwarf, but then they stopped when Tauriel walked into the room. I giggled and waved to her. She waved back and walked through the prison and stopped where the brown haired dwarf was.
- That is my younger brother, Kíli.
Fíli said, leaning on the cell's door.
- And it seems like someone caught his eye.
I said with a smile, and Fíli chucked. I turned around to look at him again. He looked at my weapons, which were hanging around my body. I wasn't the archer elf like most of my friends. I preferred daggers, knives, swords, or even spears.
- You're not an archer?
He asked, surprised, and I nodded, chuckling.
- Definitely not. As you can tell..
I said and turned around, showing him my collection of weapons. His eyes widened and sparkled.
- They all have a story..
I said with nostalgia. He looked at me, intrested.
- Tell me about them.
He said with passion, and I laughed. I slowly sat down before his cell, and so did he.
I told him about my adventures and from where I got my weapons. He looked at me, listening curiously and sometimes making jokes, at which I laughed. The time went fast and nice. Then, someone walked in.
- (Y/n)!! Your shift is over!
The elf soldier shouted, and I looked at the dwarf saddly.
- It was nice talking to you, Fíli.. Hope I will see you soon..
I said quietly, so the elf soldier doesn't hear it. Fíli smiled and nodded.
- I don't think I can go anywhere..
He said and pointed at the cell, chuckling. I smiled and stood up. I waved him goodbye and ran up to the elf.
••
When I heard the alarm that the dwarves were running away, I quickly ran behind Legolas and Tauriel. We were going down the river, following the group of dwarves that were swimming in the barrels.
The dwarves stopped on our border gate, and after a while, there were orcs coming from every direction, killing elves and trying to kill our lost prisoners.
I throwed a spear at the tree and jumped, swinging on it to get on the other side of the river. I was trying to kill as many enemies as I could, but it wasn't easy in this terrain. I cut theirs heads off and cut throats while doing flips and dodges. I sometimes felt someone's gaze on me as I fought.
I saw Kíli getting out to pull the lever, but he got shot on his leg. I frowned and killed another orcs. Tauriel got to his rescue and killed orcs coming his way.
When Kíli pulled the lever and fell inside his barrel, we followed them again. We killed a lot of orcs to keep us and dwarves safe.
"Why are they going so fast?!"
I thought, groaning and leaning my head backwards when no one attacked me. I looked around and took a shortcut, sprinting. The shortcut was higher than the hills around the river. There was only one orc that I killed immediately by throwing a knife to his head. I took it back and ran as quickly as I could again.
I saw Legolas standing at dwarves heads, and laughed. He always liked to show off. I took my spear and throwed it at an orc that nearly attacked Legolas. The dwarves were helping too, and I was so grateful for that.
After a bit, my shortcut ended, and I was waiting for them a bit further. I killed orcs that waited here for the dwarves. Then I saw the barrels, and Legolas stopped next to me. We looked at them as they swam away. I sighed deeply, and my friend put a hand on my shoulder. We saw Tauriel behind us, and she joined us.
••
I decided to follow the dwarves into the Laketown. I jumped on the roofs of the houses, seeking the house with the dwarves in it. I jumped off the roof when I saw the correct one. I knocked on the door.
- Who is that?
- I hope not anyone who can kill us...
I heard mumbled voices, but then the door opened. I saw a tall man with dark hair.
- How can I help you?
He asked.
- I'm here to help your guests.
- But I don't have any-
He didn't finish, and I saw a head popping out from the room inside.
- (Y/n)?
Fíli said, and I smiled. The man let me go inside, and I walked up to the blond dwarf. I handed him the knife I took from him earlier with a smile.
- I think I took it from you.
I said, and he grabbed his weapon, smiling warmly. Fíli opened his mouth to say something, but then I heard loud groans of pain. I quickly excused myself and walked up to Kíli who was lying on the table, pale as a ghost. I looked at him, scared and worried.
- Please tell me you can help him..
Said the old dwarf and I looked with a sad look, shaking my head.
- But I know who can.
I said and quickly ran outside and jumped on the roof. I grabbed a horn that Tauriel gave me. She told me to use it in case of emergency. It is only heard for elves, so no one track us. I blowed the air inside it and waited.
After 5 minutes, I saw Tauriel making her way to me. We jumped off the roof, and she looked at Kíli. She told us to find some herb, which we did find after a while.
While Kíli was kicking around, we held him, and Tauriel did an elves' magic on him, bringing him back to health. I sighed in relief. I felt a hand wrap around mine and looked at the owner of it. It was Fíli who had a really concerned look on his face while looking at his brother. I rubbed my thumb on his knuckles to comfort him a bit.
Then we heard a loud thund. I immediately ran outside and stood next to a dead orc body. I looked around and saw that Legolas was shooting at the most enemies. I pulled my knives out, but in the corner of my eye, I saw Fíli taking his dagger out too. I turned around and looked at him.
- Fíli.. Take care of your brother.. He needs you now..
I said, putting my hand on his shoulder. He looked deeply into my eyes.
- But you also need me..
He said, pushing through me and walking outside. He killed one orc and I smiled.
- Tauriel! Please take care of them.
I said in elvish. She looked at me and nodded. I ran outside to follow Fíli. We fought side by side. We knew what we were doing, like we knew each other for our whole lives.
When town was clear (or we thought so), we saw a dragon up in the sky, blowing fire. We started running away. I put my hand inside Fíli's and tried helping civilians run away and save their lifes.
When we got on the coast, we saw Bard trying to shoot the dragon, which he did. He killed him. The monster flew up into the sky and fell down with a huge impact.
We started cheering. The Smaug was dead. I looked at Fíli who looked so happy that I couldn't even describe it. He looked at our intertwined hands and then at my face. He wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer. I blushed while looking down at him.
- I thought you said you weren't going anywhere..
I said with a pout, remembering their swim in the river. He chuckled and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.
- Well... I'm here now..
We leaned closer to each other, our noses touching and eyes closed. We were like this for a few seconds before I decided to press my lips to his. He seemed amazed at my action, but quickly kissed me back. He put his hand behind my head, pulling me closer. My arms wrapped around his shoulders.
We pulled away when we heard people shouting with enthusiasm. I looked into the direction of people's looks and saw Bard from the distance.

Summary: The first time you and Legolas confessed your love for each other after you assumed he was in love with another for years.
Trope: childhood friends to lovers
Word Count: 840
——————————————————————————————————
Elvish Translations:
Legolas, how ceri- cin fare? = Legolas, how do you fare?
Im am far tríw, Y/n = I am quite fine, Y/n.
Im cannot n- os- cin, ú- ir im cannot ab- hin emel = I cannot be around you, not while I cannot deny these feelings.
Mellon = Friend
——————————————————————————————————
Elves only fell in love once, most knew of this. It had barely come as a shock to you when you realised you had deep feelings for your old childhood friend, Legolas. As the two of you grew up, you became inseparable, you trained together all the time and hung out more than that.
You had always caught yourself staring at his beauty ever so often, even in your younger years. Though, you had always brushed this off as simple admiration for the Prince. However, almost as soon as you realised your feelings, you also realised the way he looked at Tauriel.
It caused you great pain to stay by your side, knowing that he'd never feel the same about you, but you still stayed by his side no matter what.
You had learnt the hard way that, sometimes, love can cause only pain and misery. You continued to stay by his side, though, continued to laugh and talk as if nothing had changed, fought and protected the same as if your feelings had never surfaced.
You had told yourself long ago that, no matter what, you would stay by Legolas’s side. Whether that was in battle, to comfort him or give him advice, you would be there.
You sit with your back to a tree and your sword in your lap with a sharpening steel in your right hand, the others sitting and chatting amongst each other. You have no desire to talk to them tonight.
“Y/n.” Legolas calls you, causing you head to turn towards him.
You hum in response, “Yes?”
He stares at you for a few, long seconds, “Are you feeling well?”
No, you thought, but simply nodded, “Yes. Are you feeling well?”
He stays quiet, settling beside you. You watch as he sits beside you, his hair slightly getting in the way of his flawless face.
“Legolas, how ceri- cin fare?” You ask, worry clear in your voice when he takes too long to reply.
He meets your gaze once more a offers a small smile, “Im am far tríw, Y/n.”
You nod, your eyes wondering back to your sword that lays still in your lap, how long had you been sharpening the damned thing?
The two of you sit in an awkward, but also normal, silence. A silence that can be awkward at first, but slowly turns into a silent, comfortable company.
"You have been distancing yourself." He says, his voice lowered.
You glare at the elf, "I have not, I have been conversed with the others, I have created a strong companionship."
He shakes his head, "Not distant to our new travelling partners, you have been distant to me."
This time, when you look up, your eyes lock with his. There's a sort of sadness in his eyes, a sorts of pain in not talking to you like you used to.
You look back to the sword in your lap, guilt pulling at your heart strings. How were you meant to tell Legolas that you’ve distanced yourself because you loved him?
“Im cannot n- os- cin, ú- ir im cannot ab- hin emel.” You mutter, “It pains me, mellon.”
“Pains you? In which way?” Legolas questions, “Have I offended you in some way, Y/n? Have I wronged you to make you distant?”
You shake your head, “Quite the opposite, you have made me incredibly infatuated with you in a way that makes my heart beat for you and only you, Legolas.”
A look of shock appears on the blond’s face, he freezes. For once in his long life, he freezes. You made The Prince freeze up, you!
You shake your head once more, “And it pains me to be spend my waking mornings and my days and nights with you when I know perfectly well that you are in love with Tauriel and see me no more than a trusted companion.”
"I have never been in love with Tauriel." Legolas simply states, "It has always been you."
Stunned, you simply stare him before muttering out, "Pardon?"
“It has always been you, Y/n.” Legolas repeats, his voice a melodic sounding tone, “I have always been in love with you.”
In disbelief, your eyes does not falter from Legolas’. Though, you noticed his hand rise to your cheek.
“If I may?” He asks, though he did not need an answer as you crash your lips onto his.
A sound of shock is muffled by your lips, but he quickly gets used to the feeling and kisses you back. The moment is full of complete passion and bliss, like everything that was going wrong faded away for those few seconds.
When the two of you pulled away, it was silent, the two of you simply looked into each others' eyes. Legolas' hand remained on your cheek, brushing away the hair that was near your face.
"I have wished to do that for many centuries now, though, I never knew how to confess to you." Legolas mutters, had it not been to your elven ears, you would not have heard him.
You let out a small laugh, almost like a sigh, "You know not how much I have desired to do that, my Prince."
"Perhaps, now, you can no longer distance yourself from myself anymore." He smiled.
You nodded, "Perhaps I will."

Aragorn x Reader
A/N: Hey y'all! This is my first ever Lord of the Rings fic so I hope you like it! I do not own any rights to these characters!
Summary: Aragorn and (y/n) keep their feelings hidden until the battle at Helm's Deep makes them realize how important the time they have is.
Warnings: mentions of war, blood, death, fluff, gore? idk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Helm's Deep was overwhelmed with frantic people trying to prepare for the battle ahead of them. The Uruk-Hai were on their way, and much needed to be done. After rounding up the able-bodied men, the remaining members of the fellowship began getting themselves ready for war.
(Y/n), one of the last remaining Dúndain and the 10th member of the fellowship was sharpening her sword in the armory when Aragorn silently entered. He decided to watch her, leaning against a wall out of sight. When he almost encountered death a few days before, the only thing that kept him going was her face in his mind, reminding him he couldn't give up.
Over their journey, he had unexpectedly fallen for the young (y/h/c). Her kindness, beauty, and amazing personality drew him in, and her skills in battle were the nail in the coffin for him. He knew he loved her from the moment they fought the Uruk-Hai the day they lost Boromir.
"I thought you were gone," she said softly, sheathing her new blade.
With a sigh, he stepped out from his hiding place. "Me, as well."
Her eyes raked his frame, studying his ruggedly handsome appearance as if it might be the last she'd see it. Her world had shattered when they'd assumed him dead, and now that he was here, all she wanted to do was tell him how she felt. Snapping out of her trance, she grabbed chainmail from the rack, sliding it on quickly.
"10,000? Are there really that many?" She asked uncertainly as she peered into his icy blues.
Aragorn walked closer, stopping directly in front of her. "Yes. Isengard has emptied."
With a slow nod, she reached for her jerkin, but he beat her to it. Giving him a look of confusion, she tried to gently take it from him.
"Let me help you. Please." He pleaded, eyes soft.
"Alright."
He held it out in front of him, allowing her to slide each arm through it. After it was on, she turned to face him, her eyes never leaving his as he slowly tied the jerkin together. She tried to not let their close proximity get to her, but she could feel the warmth of his touch through the mail she wore.
When he got to the top tie, (y/n) gave in and placed her hand atop his. Aragorn's face lifted, realizing they were merely inches apart. His eyes flickered to her lips, and his heart began to race when she did the same.
Both leaned in slowly, but just before their lips met, Gimli's loud voice could be heard from the stairwell.
"I shall beat you this time, elf." He announces with a chuckle.
Quickly backing away, (y/n) grabbed her belt and sword off the table as she muttered, "I-I've got to go make sure the men are ready," refusing to meet his eyes.
The woman couldn't stop the pounding of her heart as she bounded up the stairs, passing Gimli and Legolas without a second glance. Aragorn watched her figure disappear, cursing under his breath. At that moment, he vowed to share his feelings with her if they survived the coming battle.
Tumblr media
Atop the wall, overlooking the hordes of Orks marching towards the great city, (y/n) stood beside Gimli, and found herself thinking back on the moment she shared with Aragorn hours earlier. She chewed on the inside of her lip, deep in thought. Having caught on to the woman's anxious habit, Gimli gently reached up and took her hand, causing her to look at the dwarf.
"Don't worry, lass. We'll be alright as long as we've got each other's backs." He said, staring up at the darkening sky.
Sighing, she ran her free hand down her face. "I'm not worried about the battle...well-I am, but..."
Gimli smiled softly, suddenly understanding. "Does yer worry have to do with a certain Ranger?"
(Y/n) didn't respond, only taking another deep breath as a blush crept up her neck.
He chuckled at her attempt to ignore him. "I knew it. Don't ya worry, (y/n), my lips are sealed."
"I know how I feel towards him, but-"
"But what?" the dwarf asked.
"I don't know, Gimli. Perhaps I am scared of where it might go."
"You are one of the most fearless warriors I know. Do not let something like love scare you, lass. Yes, it can be uncertain in the beginning, but it is completely worth the jump."
Looking at the dwarf, a small smile appeared on her lips. "Thank you, friend."
Tumblr media
Hours later, Sauron's army could be seen in all of its terrible glory. The remaining fellowship members stood on the wall once again, surrounded by Elven archers. As the enemy got within a hundred feet of the wall, rain began to fall, soaking their armor and chilling them to the bone. (Y/n)'s mind drifted but was snapped back to focus at the sound of Aragorn's voice speaking elvish.
"Show them no mercy, for you shall receive none."
A loud roar was heard, and Gimli began to hop, trying to see over the wall in front of him.
"What's happening out there?!" He asks Legolas, continuing to jump.
The elf suppressed a smirk. "Shall I describe it to you?" Gimli looked up as he continued. "Or would you like me to find you a box?"
Gimli stared at him for a few seconds before breaking out in a laugh, and soon the other two joined in. Their fit of laughter was interrupted as Aragorn appeared to (y/n)'s right, gently tugging her towards him to speak privately. She tried to ignore the sensation of his touch as she allowed him to lead her a few feet away from Gimli and Legolas.
"Here," he said softly, handing her a beautiful and lightweight elvish blade. "I know your sword was destroyed when we fought against the wargs on our journey here."
She took it from him, inspecting its craftsmanship. "It's beautiful. Thank you," she whispered looking at it in awe.
"Look, (y/n/n)," Aragorn started, placing his hand on her upper arm. "Be careful, please. I know you are more than capable of defending yourself, but I don't know what I would do if something happened to you."
His touch, along with his loving words sent warmth through her body. (Y/n) reached up with her free hand and cupped the underside of his jaw, causing his eyes to flutter shut at her touch.
"You as well. We have much to discuss after this."
Aragorn's grey-blue eyes shot open, a small smile finding its way onto his face. "Yes, we do."
He moved closer, leaning his forehead on hers as they simply took in the presence of the other. (Y/n) could feel her heart racing from both fear and excitement, but she just closed her eyes, relishing his touch. Both knew this could be the last time they'd be this close and didn't want to pull away.
Another Orc horn sounded in the distance, and Aragorn pulled back slightly, cupping her cheeks. "Be safe. I shall see you after the battle."
Planting a soft kiss on her forehead, he backed up and focused back on being a leader. He unsheathed his sword as the Uruk-Hai began beating their weapons against the ground.
By the time (y/n) got back to her position beside Legolas and Gimli, one singular arrow had been released, embedding itself in an Orc's neck. There was silence until Aragorn's voice broke through.
"Hold!" He yelled, trying to reign in his frustration.
Within seconds, the Orc's body collapsed, and with a shrill battle cry, their commander ordered them to march.
The battle for Helm's Deep had begun.
Tumblr media
The battle was raging around (y/n) as she kicked an Uruk off a ladder, sending him to his doom. Hearing the war cry from another, she spun around, blocking its strike that was aimed at her head. With a quick slash to its legs, she brought it to its knees before taking its head with her new sword.
Glancing up at the rest of the wall, she sighed in relief to see Aragorn driving his sword through an Uruk's abdomen. She watched as something caught his eye from the ground before his attention turned towards her. Making eye contact, she could see the worry on his face from their distance. He started running towards the woman, yelling elvish.
"Bring him down, Legolas!" He cried, looking down at the Uruk with the sparking torch.
Following his line of vision, (y/n) cursed under her breath when she saw where it was headed: straight for her position on the wall.
She wanted to go to Aragorn, but she had to try and get everyone near her to safety first. "Everyone get back! Move!"
As she shoved men away from the area, she glanced down to see an arrow land in the Uruk's shoulder, but it did not stop.
Aragorn's voice pierced the air again. "Kill him!"
Slicing through multiple Uruk coming over the wall, the woman ran one through with her sword, throwing a dagger at another, hitting it square in the chest.
"Kill him!"
Another arrow in the opposite shoulder had no effect on the creature, and right before it dove towards the wall, (y/n) heard Aragorn call her name. Meeting his eyes as he ran towards her, she smiled softly just before a loud boom filled the air and everything went black.
Tumblr media
Ringing. That's all that filled (y/n)'s senses. Her body ached seemingly everywhere as she opened her eyes. Vision swimming, she flipped over onto her back, struggling to breathe. When the movement made a splash, she became aware she was laying in a pool of water.
She lazily glanced up and saw the wall high above her. She then realized she had fallen from the top, and sat up slightly to look at the damage the bomb caused.
She was dazed, but when she saw the large part of the wall missing, her mind cleared instantly.
Glancing at her surroundings, her heart dropped when she saw Aragorn's unmoving figure in the distance. She wobbly stood to her feet and she was so focused on getting to the lord that she didn't notice the Uruks gaining behind her.
"(Y/n)!" A voice shouted from above. Spinning around, she looked up in time to see Gimli jump off the remaining wall, landing on a group of Orcs that were mere feet from her.
She rushed towards the dwarf, ready to fight the hoard with him. Thankfully her sword hadn't landed far from her, so she picked it up and began slashing at the Uruks. The water came to just below the woman's knees, making it hard for her to move.
They were soon outnumbered, and Gimli was kicked down into the water. Trying to get to him, (y/n) became distracted and didn't see the large shield coming her way. It roughly made contact with her chest, sending her down into the water with a splash as she gasped for air.
The Uruks continued to advance and she struggled to stay above water as they stepped on and over her to get deeper into the fortress. Everything sounded muffled to (y/n), whose lungs began to burn from being deprived of much-needed oxygen.
Just as darkness was about to overtake her, a strong hand grabbed her by the front of her jerkin, pulling her up out of the water. She gasped for air as her rescuer called her name, placing their hands on either side of her face.
Coughing and sputtering, she looked up to see Aragorn with worry etched on his face.
"Are you alright?" He asked softly, eyeing around them for any Uruks that slipped through the elves.
(Y/n) nodded slowly as she got used to the familiar feeling of air in her lungs.
He began scanning her body, looking for any obvious sign of injury. When he pulled his right hand away from her cheek, a sticky crimson substance coated it.
"You're bleeding," he said, panicked.
Finally getting her full composure back, she shook her head and smiled softly before looking back at the battle. "I am a warrior. A little blood won't hurt me. We still have a battle to fight, Aragorn."
He tucked a stray piece of her blood-stained hair behind her ear. "Be cautious. We still need to have our talk after this."
"I can't wait, my lord."
(Y/n) found her sword and began walking back into the fray as he did the same.
Tumblr media
"Fall back!"
At the order, (y/n) followed her friends into the throne room. They quickly barricaded the door with whatever they could find as Aragorn spoke to King Théodan.
Before they knew it, the remaining leaders were mounting up to ride out into the Uruk-Hai. (Y/n) looked to her right at Aragorn, who was already staring back at her. The reality of the situation hit her suddenly, and she fought the tears that filled her eyes.
"If this is it, my King, it has been an honor fighting beside you," she whispered, leaning over to kiss his cheek gently.
As he opened his mouth to reply, the doors were opened, and Theoden led them out into the chaos. After fighting their way to the bridge, Aragorn lost sight of her (y/h/c) hair as they rode toward the horde of Orcs. When he saw the Rohirrim come charging down the hill, he sighed in relief, hoping that everything would be over soon.
Tumblr media
When the sounds of orcs finally died out and the battle ended, there was one thing on the Ranger's mind: (y/n). His heart was beating out of his chest as he rode by each dead body on the battlefield. He kept an eye on any flashes of her (y/h/c) hair, trying to keep his composure.
After searching the battlefield, he didn't see her anywhere. He didn't know if he should feel more worried or relieved, but what he did know was that he had to find her. Rushing through the fortress to the throne room, he burst through the doors.
"Has anyone seen Lady (y/n)?" he questioned loudly.
Before anyone could answer, a flash of (y/h/c) caught his eye, and he let out a shaky sigh as he looked her way.
"(Y/n)."
She quickly looked over at Aragorn with ab unreadable look which soon turned into a radiant smile that filled his body with warmth. The young woman was covered with dirt, sweat, and blood, but she still looked beautiful.
Without wasting another second, he quickly marched over to her and cupped her face, pulling her into a long overdue kiss. She immediately reciprocated the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck as she pulled him closer.
Pulling away, she rested her forehead against his, slightly out of breath. She was about to speak but was interrupted by the voice of Gimli from behind them
"Aye, lad, it took you long enough!"
The pair looked at each other quickly before breaking into laughter as they embraced, ignoring the aching of their bodies.
Tumblr media
Soon everything settled, leaving (y/n) and Aragorn a moment alone.
"Alone at last," she whispered, caressing his cheek lovingly. "I believe we have something we need to discuss, my lord."
A smirk appeared on his face as he snaked his arms around her waist, pulling her body closer to his. "I believe we do."
"I cannot-"
"You are-"
They both started at the same time. Smiling softly, she gestured for him to go ahead.
"I have never been able to imagine myself as King, but when I met you, I could. I could because I saw you beside me. I love you, (y/n)."
She slowly tugged him down, connecting their lips softly. Parting, he searched her face for a reply as he spoke quietly. "What does that mean?"
"It means I love you, too."

Eddie Munson never thought he could have a friend like you.
Never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined being best friends with the prettiest girl in school, let alone someone who also happens to be a cheerleader.
But there he was, on a random Tuesday evening, a joint dancing back and forth between his fingers and yours, babbling about lord of the rings.
"What do you mean Legolas is an asshole?" You chuckled as you took a new puff, Eddie watching as your cheeks hallowed and you half exhaled by your nose before making the rest of the smoke come out of your mouth, stealing a new drag before handing it to Eddie.
"You don't remember that moment in the two towers where he legit let Aragorn bend down to listen to the earth and struggle and stuff and waited for him to come to the conclusion that indeed a whole ass army was headed towards them, and Legolas was just 'oh yeah I can see them from here, I've known about them for ages."
"Oh yeah, I remember" You laughed. "But he's not an asshole for this. Legolas is one of my favorite characters" you frowned a little.
"He's a good character, but elves can be assholes in general in lord of the rings"
"Don't shit on the elves, Munson" You hit his chest with the back of your hand, a new fit of laughter escaping you both.
At this moment Eddie couldn't help but stare at you. You had this giddy high smile on your lips and shiny eyes. Your hair was loose and you were still in your cheer uniform. You made eye contact and Eddie thought he was going to pass out.
His heart leaped in his chest and somehow he knew, he knew that he couldn't keep his feelings to himself for much longer.
He had already been head over heels for you since the first time he saw you in that high school cafeteria. He knew he would die for you the second you exchanged words for the first time and he had struggled to let the words 'thanks' and 'bye' in the same sentence, causing him to mumble something in between.
He had to pinch himself every day since the moment Mrs. Smith had paired the two of you for a school project and you had decided Eddie was a worthy friend.
He didn't even know how in the world you had anything in common in the first place.
But you always took him by surprise. He didn't even think it was possible for someone like you to feel so familiar with what was in his room the first time you stepped in it. And he certainly didn't expect you to look at all his tape collection with wide eyes and watch as you excitedly pointed to almost all of them adding an 'oh my god you listen to that too?', or 'this is one of my favorites!' and he'd watch as you'd ask permission to put said tape in his player and turn up the volume.
Needless to say, Eddie knew you had been sent from heaven right this moment.
Or maybe you were sent from hell, destined to torment him. For him to fall helplessly in love with you just to never get a chance.
But you liked him back right?
right?
"God, I wish I could join hellfire." You blinked and turned to him. "I wish I could play an elf too. I have so many ideas for my character..."
"I wish you could too, princess"
And that marked the end of a perfect evening with you.
You would go back to your house, take a shower and wash your uniform in poor attempt to hide that you had been smoking. You would make yourself something to eat and do your homework, reminiscing of how off being in the cheer squad started to feel.
Your friends felt faker and faker by the second, dancing in a green skirt and pom poms didn't feel right anymore, it didn't feel like you.
~
That morning, Eddie came to school with his intention set. A poorly written speech of what he wanted to tell you crumpled in his jacket pocket.
He felt nervous ever since he woke up with the thought that this was the day. This was it. He would ask you on a date today, and he would jump into the potential abyss of ruining your perfect friendship or finally being able to call you his.
It took him some serious pep talk and maybe even a bit of weed for courage. But he was determined to meet with you in the woods like you usually did if you wanted to talk during school hours. He would sit you down and offer you half of his Twix bar 'how romantic' he thought, and once a comfortable silence had fallen between you, he would try and see if his mouth would let him let the words out.
He would try to tell you how wonderful you made him feel, or every little detail about you that made him go crazy. Explain to you how his heart did flips and butterflies flew into his stomach when he was with you. He would ask you out, maybe even let it slip out that Hellfire needed a queen.
But exactly when he was heading to your locker to slip in the small 'meet me in the woods at lunch' note: he saw you.
His face fell.
Your hair was tied with a green ribbon, a bright smile plastered on your face as you spoke with Chad.
He closed his eyes and breathed out through his nose as his world began to crumble around him.
He was the real-life version of a Ken doll. Perfect brown hair that would make Steve jealous if he was still in school, a pearly white grin that made Eddie's stomach twist, and crystal blue eyes.
He was everything Eddie wasn't. He was a jock, probably had perfect grades, money, and everything else Eddie hadn't. Everything he lacked that you deserved in someone.
The way you smiled as your conversation went on was enough for him to back away and throw the poor little piece of paper in the trash. He tried to burn out of his mind the image of him leaning in towards you, his arm leaning on the wall beside you, blatantly flirting with you.
He walked in the opposite direction, realizing that he didn't deserve you. You were far too high in the Hawkins High food chain to even consider dating a guy like him. How could he have been so stupid?
But you made him high on love. High on the hope that you could be an item. So lost in his love for you that he was brought back to reality the harsh way.
You needed someone like Chad. Someone with a good reputation and who don't take rides in the back of police cars on regular basis.
You might have similar taste in music and common interests, but that was about it. The only reason you were even friends with Eddie in the first place was because of your similar tastes in music, but your social circles weren't compatible. He felt like a fool to even think he could have a chance.
He felt enough like a fool, he didn't need the pain in his heart to become worst by having you around, even if the look in your eyes every time he canceled your plans only stung worst.
Three weeks into his poor cover-ups and attempts to push you away and he only felt miserable. No amount of Ozzy or Dio was enough to forget the pain. No amount of times he would attempt to drown himself in the new Metallica album as he tried to learn the chords on his guitar could attempt to heal the you shaped hole in his heart.
He watched from the far end of the hellfire table. You looked perfect as always, but what he hadn't realized was that something was off. You had trouble eating and didn't find sleep easily lately. The thoughts of what you could have potentially done wrong for Eddie to act so distant with you munching at your stomach.
But obviously, he didn't see it. He couldn't see it. You would hide behind your perfect cheer uniform and constant fake smiles.
But even if someone could see the pain hidden behind these smiles, Eddie would refuse to believe he had been the cause. In his mind, he was simply a useless passing villager in your game of life. He thought of himself to be like one of the background characters he invented for his campaigns.
Boy if only he knew how wrong he was...
On the second day of the third week, you decided you had enough.
If Eddie was going to ignore you, you at least needed a reason. Something to justify the pang in your heart each time your eyes landed on him.
So you held your books a little tighter in your hand, your pink nails gripping them tighter as you made your way out of the cafeteria. You watched from a distance as Eddie spoke with one of his fellow hellfire member while walking towards his locker.
The bell rang and as usual, Eddie didn't move. He took his time, stuffing his drug-filled lunch box into his locker before trying to sort out through the mess of stray paper and notes he might need for the afternoon.
You closed your own locker, telling your friend that you needed to do something before class so she'd leave you alone.
The hallway fell empty apart from Eddie who hadn't noticed your presence. If he hadn't ignored you, maybe you would have smiled at the way he was figuring out what his own handwriting was saying. You would have cracked a joke about how he was muttering to himself. Something about this not being the note he was searching for before tucking it back behind the mass of unorganized notebooks.
Eddie didn't expect to see your face when he closed his locker. You had made your way to him right as he pocketed the scribbling he had done for history and tucked his 4 colored pen behind his ear.
"You're ignoring me" You stated.
He was staring right at you with his big brown eyes, mouth half opened.
God, he wanted to run away. You being so close to him while he was trying to bury his feelings felt intoxicating.
"No I haven't"
"Yes, you have." He watched as your face fell a little, more pieces of his heart shattering in the process. "Have I done something wrong?" The way you frowned was overwhelming. "I promise I didn't mean to."
He had to close his eyes to stop himself from wanting to rip his hair out or cry.
You were blaming yourself, for something that was all him.
"Y/n, of course not- you could never do anything wrong-"
"Then why are you ignoring me" Your tone might have seemed firm but he could tell the way your voice wavered.
You were hurt.
And it was all his fault.
He sighed and managed to meet your eyes again.
"Because I'm not good enough for you Y/n." You blinked.
"What?"
"I'm not good enough for you!" He lifted his voice a bit. "Y/n- you're- you're perfect. It's as if god had taken everything that's just perfect and made you- and then there's me, who is everything but perfect. A freak who was apparently meant to fall for someone he cannot have." He rambled. "Because Y/n" He looked into your eyes, a look so intense it almost gave you chills. "You're a queen, and I’m just your joker. And The Joker cannot fall in love with the queen of Gotham, she deserves Batman, the handsome Bruce Wayne. Not the madman."
You swallowed as you realized this was a love confession. Eddie was rambling on about how he reciprocated your feelings but thought you could never. How low he was talking about himself made your heart ache and anger bubble at the pit of your stomach for all those bullies at Hawkins high. Because your Eddie deserved the world, and he most definitely deserved someone like you. He even deserved the entire of Gotham to be at his feet.
"Harley Quinn is his queen." You took a step closer to him. "Her and the Joker made a pretty good pair the last time I checked."
Eddie felt the air pull out of his lungs as you spoke, his brain attempting to comprehend.
"What do you mean?" He breathed out, watching you get even closer to him.
"Let me be your Harley." You brushed his hand, making goosebumps travel up his arm. His fingers slowly interlaced with yours, eyes getting glossy. "I might be the Queen of Gotham, but I'm far from wanting a Batman."
Before he could blink again, you were already on your tip toes leaning in for a kiss. You were already lowering yourself back to your normal height before Eddie registered what happened.
But when he did, his lips were on yours again - chasing for the kiss he had been dying to steal from you.
Eddie thought his brain was overheating. Not even 10 minutes ago he thought every chance he had with you had been long gone, sunk deep into lovers lake with the other broken romances and unrequited loves.
But there he was, kissing the girl of his dreams in the middle of a school hallway.
"So, I'm really perfect?" You smirked as you pulled away from the kiss just for Eddie to chase your lips again, muttering 'Yes' in between kisses.
Eddie finally pulled away when the information had fully registered
"How in the world do you like me back?" He blinked in disbelief.
"Because you're perfect?" He shook his head no. "your perfect for me Eddie." you leaned in again. "Even if you don't believe it- you are"

just finished my binge of all three hobbit movies (again) and I can't stop thinking about writing a fic for lockwood x fem!reader where their relationship is kinda like Kili and Tauriel
(possible spoilers under the cut for both the hobbit and a brief mention of Bridgerton s2)
I don't want either of them to die, obviously (because even though Kili definitely dies and while Tauriel doesn't exist in the books it makes sense that she dies from heartbreak, and I think that's mentioned in lotr? but I can't remember), but mostly I got stuck on the conversation between Tauriel and Thranduil after the battle, and these two lines in particular:
"Why does it hurt so much?"
"Because it was real."
Okay first of all, Thranduil spent the entire trilogy telling Tauriel that she's both not good enough for Legolas (because of hierarchical views of elves) and also that what she feels for Kili isn't real, so for him to say those words has such an impact.
Second, I feel like those two lines are so Lockwood coded and I can't figure out why (they just are).
Maybe it's the fact that he tries to shut himself off to caring about people by not telling them things, because he doesn't want to let anybody close enough to leave him again like with his family.
Maybe it's the fact that Lockwood would absolutely want to know why love had to hurt so damn much, because there's already so much pain in the world so why should something so beautiful end the same way?
I also think that Lockwood would be the sort of person to pull an Anthony Bridgerton and not want to be the cause of that pain, therefore becoming somebody likeable but far away and out of reach. He would absolutely try and limit the amount of pain that he caused others, because he's been through so much himself that he would hate himself if he ever became the reason that they felt the same way he had.
I think there's something to write about the types of race that lockwood and reader would belong to, since Tauriel and Kili are of two races that despise each other (for anyone not familiar with Tolkien's works, when I say race I mean what they are as a species, e.g. elves, dwarves, men, etc.). Lockwood I'm torn about what race he would be. My initial instinct is to class him as an elf, since he has the face and charm for it, but I also think that elves try and avoid anything that will cause them harm (since it will kill them), whereas Lockwood actively throws himself into harm, both physically and emotionally, even if he tries to hide the emotional part (he's often unsuccessful). Similarly elves are wise beyond all others, and while Lockwood definitely has a brain and his wits about him, he can also be stunted by his emotions (just look at what happens when Lucy does anything). That makes me want to place him more in the race of men, since they share attributes with the elves in some ways, but allow emotion to control their lives more freely than elves appear to.
I have no idea if any of that last paragraph made sense (and I would like to make it known that I haven't read the Hobbit in a good few years, and this is based off of what I can remember from that and the films (which are different to the books)), but essentially what I'm trying to say is that Lockwood is either an elf or a human and I can't decide which, and the reader is of a race that despises his (because I think it works better). If they have a sort of star-crossed lovers theme going on, then it makes the impact of those two lines even stronger, because they were never meant to have it in the first place. (I have other thoughts on Romeo and Juliet so don't get me started)
They were born into species that hated each other because of a slight that happened in the past, and loved each other anyway, regardless of the consequences, and I think that there is something beautiful about that.
Say what you want about star-crossed lovers, if it's done correctly, then it's brilliant. Is it done too much? I don't know. But I want to write one anyway because Lockwood in Middle Earth is not something I was aware that I needed until this evening.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk guys (not that I'm entirely sure what the topic was other than lockwood in middle earth).

SO- I saw you wrote for Legolas (my fave elf boi) and you also do song fics, so I would like to request a Legolas x fem!witch!reader with 'Sparks Fly' by Taylor Swift. Reader has Scarlet Witch powers and the fic is set around the Hobbit rather than LOTR. hope this isn't too specific lol <3
Wait but I love the idea of a reader with wanda powers oMG- i also love the song choice. I literally analysed it for an English project LMAO-
~Sparks Fly~
Legolas x fem!witch!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Legolas and (Y/N) have always denied any romantic feelings between the two of them, but, alas, sparks fly.
Warnings: Mentions of killing, the elves being horrible to the dwarves, badly translated elvish, gets a bit steamy at the end but no smut :)
A/N: I love Legolas more than I love my own mother UM-
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The way you move is like a full on rainstorm And I'm a house of cards You're the kind of reckless that should send me running But I kinda know that I won't get far
"Morning (Y/N)."
"Morning Legolas, you on duty again?" The prince laughed. "Valar, no, I don't think my father wants me to be on duty ever again after we led the spiders straight into Mirkwood."
"In my defence, I did not think they could get through the door." He rolled his eyes, turning to look at you, and you glared right back. You enjoyed the friendship you had with Legolas, the bickering and the teasing felt comforting in some ways.
But your heart burned as bright as the flames of Mordor when he looked at you. When he smiled at you. When he was near you.
'Strange,' you thought to yourself, 'perhaps I have fallen ill'
And you stood there in front of me just Close enough to touch Close enough to hope you couldn't see What I was thinking of
He was one step away from you, it would only take you reaching your arm out to be able to touch his. But you didn't.
You had to get yourself out of that stupid, stupid mindset. Legolas was a prince. And you were no where near his level, being a previous member of Elrond's council at best. There was no chance.
He opened his mouth, his gaze still on you, before his name was called.
"My prince." Tauriel announced, running down the stairs, her auburn locks flying behind her. "There has been a report of more spiders in the forest, and sightings of other beings."
Then she left, her pace quick as her hands tightened over her daggers. You'd always liked Tauriel, and you admired her courage and boldness.
"Well," Legolas started, picking up his bow and slinging it over his shoulder. "You ready, little witch?"
You grinned, positioning your hands in front of your chest as a glowing red began spreading over your fingers, the energy building up inside you as your eyes turned the same crimson.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
Drop everything now Meet me in the pouring rain Kiss me on the sidewalk Take away the pain 'Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile
The spiders were easy to kill, they always were, or maybe you were just strong. Your brain spun as you shot energy blasts out of your hands, killing the arachnids within seconds.
Turns out, the 'other beings' that Tauriel had been talking about were dwarves. A whole company, 13 to be exact.
"(Y/N), thír an anuinad i aran will anír- na see.*" Legolas spoke firmly, his blue eyes settling on yours in a harsh glare. You knew he was just doing it to look intimidating, and that made you want to laugh.
"-O iór nin cóon."**
Get me with those green eyes, baby As the lights go down Gimme something that'll haunt me whenever you're not around 'Cause I see, sparks fly, when you smile
You walked around the group, fingers moving and stretching out slowly as they glowed a bright scarlet. You could tell just by looking at their faces that they were either fascinated or terrified.
Possibly both.
Every weapon or item of value they possessed, you sensed and pulled away via telekinesis, and tossed to the other elves with careless flicks of your wrist. You eventually stopped in front of the only blonde of the group, who seemed to own a lot more knives than anticipated.
"Ekor many kniveth kav othok zal?"*** You asked, speaking in his common tongue so he could understand you better.
"Tha guesth othok'll mer finduroz out darluroz"**** He responded with a wink, which earned him a harsh glare from both you and Legolas, who was standing behind you.
"(Y/N), follow." "Yes, my prince."
My mind forgets to remind me, you're a bad idea You touch me once and it's really something You find I'm even better than you, imagined I would be
"You've got leaves in your hair." Legolas shot you a look at your comment, before walking quicker to get ahead.
"What! Nobody else would tell you!" You summoned your red energy again and used it to levitate, flying over to where he was to keep up with his pace.
"Glenn- (Y/N)." You frowned at his harsh words and responded in Westron.
"I'm not going to go, Legolas-" "Im said glenn!" He was angry, that was for sure. His diamond eyes were blazing, hands curled into fists by his sides.
His next, and final, hiss of a comment brought a flood of tears rushing to your eyes.
"A Im think cin'll rad- im am cín cóon, ú- cín mellon, witch." *
I'm on my guard for the rest of the world But with you I know its no good And I could wait patiently But I really wish you would
"Hey, Tauriel, wait up!" You called out, chasing after the redhead. She bowed her head lightly in an act of acknowledgement and respect, as did you.
"Do you know what's going on with the prince?"
She shook her head, her brows furrowing in confusion. "No, why?"
You sighed, running both of your hands through your hair before dragging them over your face. "He's been ignoring me ever since the dwarf incident," you gestured vaguely to the imprisoned dwarves around you, "he refuses to even look me in the eye these days."
The elleth noticed the slight droop of your eyelids as you told her, and she placed a careful hand on your shoulder. "Hey, everything will be alright."
You smiled at her, to which she happily returned.
"It's the Feast of Starlight tonight anyways, so you know what we should do?"
"What?" She leant in closer to you, her voice barely a whisper, "Make him pay for it."
Drop everything now Meet me in the pouring rain Kiss me on the sidewalk Take away the pain 'Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile
To say that (Y/N) (L/N) looked gorgeous would be an understatement, at least, that's what you were saying to yourself as you stared at your reflection.
While never one for extravagant clothing, you'd be lying if you didn't say that Tauriel was a genius when it came to picking dresses.
The midnight-blue silk covering your body was simply divine, and the skirt twirled beautifully around your ankles. You turned t Tauriel, who was still donning her guard uniform.
"Aren't you gonna wear something different?" She shrugged, "I've got to keep watch over the dwarves, unfortunately." "Ah yes, very unfortunate, you'll have to spend all evening with that young one, with the dark hair and dark eyes." Tauriel's cheeks flushed the same red as her hair. "Shut up, (L/N)."
"Tell me, was it his archery skills? Or the trousers comment?"
"I said shut up!" You laughed at the bright blush across her face.
"Kidding, kidding."
You fixed your hair and made your way to the door, before turning around to look Tauriel in the eye once more.
"Sort of." You ran out of the room before she could chase after you.
Get me with those green eyes, baby As the lights go down Gimme something that'll haunt me when you're not around 'Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile
The ball was, well, boring to say the least. Nobody danced with you, which was good, because you didn't actually like people all that much. But, alas, it was the final song of the night, and you supposed you should interact.
And that is when you saw Legolas rushing towards you, eyes trailing over your sapphire gown.
His bright eyes met yours and he held out a hand.
"A dance, m'lady?"
I run my fingers through your hair And watch the lights go wild Just keep on keeping your eyes on me It's just wrong enough to make it feel right.
"I'm a terrible dancer, Legolas, you know this." He let out a light chuckle as he spun you around. "Just shush and appreciate this for once."
"Says the one who's been ignoring me for the past three days."
His mouth formed a thin line, and he let out a sigh.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N), I was just…" "Just?" "Stressed, I suppose." You let out a fake gasp. "He admits it! Pray tell, dearest?"
The dance was nearing an end, and you were glad of it, but when Legolas kept hold of your arm and took you away to one of the hidden corridors, you couldn't help but comply.
The two of you walked in silence, arms still linked.
"I was stressed because I…" "Go on." "If you don't stop interrupting me I'll never tell you."
You caught his eye as you both laughed and you let him continue.
"I'm done hiding this."
He seemed almost shocked by your comment, and turned to face you.
And the next thing you knew, his arms were around your waist and your lips were pressed firmly against each other's.
And lead me up the staircase Won't you whisper soft and slow And I'm captivated by you baby Like a fireworks show
You pulled away for a few seconds, breathless in each other's holds.
"So I take it you love me too?" He pressed a gentle kiss to your collarbone.
"For ages."
You let out a half-hearted laugh. "Good, me too."
Drop everything now Meet me in the pouring rain Kiss me on the sidewalk Take away the pain 'Cause I see, sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those green eyes, baby As the lights go down Gimme something that'll haunt me when you're not around 'Cause I see, sparks fly, whenever you smile
Tauriel smirked upon seeing (Y/N) and Legolas run off in the direction of his room. Beneath her smile, she mumbled two words.
"Called it."
When sparks fly, oh baby smile, When sparks fly

Writer Asks
Thank you so much for tagging me @coraleethroughthelookingglass and @pursuitseternal <3
Answers under the cut!
1) How many works on AO3?
I only have 2 on ao3 because it's so much easier to post on tumblr? The tagging system still scares me lol. I have 17+ fics total (but apparently I forgot to tag at least two of them in my masterlist. oops)
2) what’s your AO3 word count?
ao3 word count: 2994
total word count: over 36k
3) What fandoms do you write for?
mostly Tolkien related: lotr/the hobbit/the silm/rings of power
4) what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Gonna go by notes on tumblr instead because I have more fics here! 1. Thranduil braiding Legolas' hair drabbles
2. Gain a Son (Theoden survives and meets Faramir AU)
3. Chapter 3 of The Great War (In case you're wondering why specifically this chapter; it is the smuttiest)
4. Chapter 1 of The Great War (ah yes, people had great expectations in my writing. back then. 6 months ago. sorry)
5. Chapter 5 of The Great War (The second smuttiest)
5) Do you respond to comments?
I try! I love interacting with people who read my fics and even take the time to comment <3
6) What fic did you write with the angstiest ending?
There's probably a few chapters of The Great War that have an angsty ending (brace yourselves, I'm gonna make Thranduil SUFFER) but I don't think I have an angsty standalone... (time to change that lol)
7) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Probably Arda University, my cute little LOTR college AU!! (read to find out why it's happy lmao)
8) do you get hate on fics?
Luckily not! I'm pretty sure one single hate comment would make me stop writing altogether. People who leave hate on fics are evil!!!!
9) do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes I do! Most notably I've done praise kink and breeding kink. I still have a bit of an explicit smut writing block? idk what's going on there
10) crossovers?
Best I can do is college AU! I have not done a crossover (yet?)
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No
12) have you had a fic translated?
No
13) have you ever co-written a fic?
No
14) What’s your all time favorite ship?
Can't say I have an all time favourite, but Eowyn X Faramir is up there!!!
15) what’s a Wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oh god. Really exposing myself here. The Thranduil/Feanor/Reader threesome will probably never be finished, but I wish I would.
16) what are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at darkness, despair, heartbreak and foreshadowing that is so blatantly obvious that I prolong everyone's suffering :)
17) what are your writing weaknesses?
I am rather new to writing so I probably have quite a few! I am not good at planning my chapters so the word count remains consistent (At least not in my current longfic). I take super long to write things??? And I don't think I'm very good at writing smut 🙃
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I throw in some Elvish or Black Speech every once in a while to mix things up! I'm not opposed to any language that makes sense and that I speak a reasonable amount of (like German or French)
19) First fandom you wrote for?
Rogue One. Was it Krennic Smut. Yes.
20) Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Once again, Arda University. It was super fun to write!!!! And I think it is a cute and fun little read :)
No pressure tagging: @thesolarangel @wordbunch @sotwk (hello new friend!) @niennawept and open tags of course!! <3 <3

Stay With Me- Chapter Two: Thoughts of Silver
Tumblr media
Other chapters:
Chapter 1: Don’t Let Me Fall
Chapter 3: Golden Sunlight Breaking Through The Clouds
Chapter 4: Shadowed By Demise
Description: So i decided that I would post this chapter early since I had the time and i was really excited about posting it.
The second chapter of my boromir x reader fic and now it turns into a bit of an aragorn x reader fic as well, AND a boromir x aragorn fic. I know. It’s a little confusing, but you’ll see eventually. In this chapter, Aragorn and Boromir have carried the unconscious reader to a tree away from the uruk-hai, and are trying to bring them round again. Legolas is in this too, very briefly. There’s a bit more fluff in this than the last chapter, so enjoy :)
Tropes: fluff, hurt to comfort
Warnings: Slight mention of blood
Length: 2k words (2,030 words)
Genre: LotR
Notes: (see end for notes)
Chapter: 2/4
Tumblr media
Boromir was gazing down at your numb, pale face as he and Aragorn carried you hastily away from the mass crowd of orcs, and he was met with the sight of your head rocking limply from side to side as he paced hurriedly away to an area of safety, and he quickly adjusted his arms to better support it. The dry brown leaves still fell to the floor, now tinted with a golden glow as the sun sank low beneath the canopy and cast light on the tips of the trees. But now, the leaves already on the forest floor were coated in blood, and though the sun was reaching it now, an even deeper shadow seemed to cover the forest than it had before the battle, when the sun was in. The ground was trampled, littered with dead uruks and their gruesome weapons. The pair of men stumbled a few times as their feet caught a limb of an orc or a discarded sword as they brought you to a quiet place under a tree, not too far that they were abandoning the fellowship, but far enough away that you would have a little time before the uruk-hai began their pursuit.
Your sense of touch came rushing back to your limbs long before you were able to see. You could feel as the two pairs of arms holding you at both ends of your body strengthened their grip in order to lower you gently to the floor. You thought you had your eyes open, or maybe you didn’t. Either way, you were staring into a void, stretching like a headband all the way around your skull. It almost felt like you had slipped away again, as you suddenly became aware that there was some form of soft cloth under your head now, perhaps a means of keeping the oxygen flowing from your heart to your brain, and your hands had been brought up to your chest, and another firm but gentle pair of hands were clasped on top of yours. Your eyes darted back and forth to try and see who they belonged to, but could only see a wall of darkness. And on the matter of the cloth under your head, Aragorn and Boromir had, in fact, been exchanging tips on situations like this in order to figure out how best to tend to you, and this was the winning decision, a suggestion of Aragorn’s, which Boromir had used in the past and therefore agreed with.
There was still no defining the line between dreams and reality. You thought you had been dreaming when you felt yourself racing across the forest floor, and you thought you were dreaming that Boromir was gently holding the sides of your face right this moment with his grazed yet warm hands as you tried to gain your vision back, dreaming that you were really his, for just a moment, and you let the dream go on. When in fact, as he and Aragorn crouched worriedly over you, the lord of Gondor truly was cupping your face softly with his hands, stroking your cheeks gently with his thumbs, watching as your eyelids fluttered shut at the sensation, and noticing the colour rush back to your cheeks almost instantly. That sight alone made him go a little red himself. You seemed to be battling to stay awake, and Boromir spoke kindly to you, letting you know that everything was all right.
“Y/n… stay with me, y/n. I’m here. It’s alright. Y/n. It’s okay. I’m here with you.” He thought he might not be giving you enough air, so he moved his hands from your face and back down to your own hands, that still lay on your chest. “Keep breathing. In… out. In… out.” You listened blissfully to his voice, and found that the oxygen was coming much more easily to your lungs now. You began do doubt if you were dreaming still, since Boromir’s voice no longer seemed so distant.
Aragorn simply stepped back, fully aware that Boromir was more suited with bringing you back round in comfort, and after you were conscious, he would help Boromir and get you back to your feet. But to his dismay, the horrible roars of the uruk-hai were growing increasingly close, and as he inspected the grim scrabble of grey, he noticed that they were nearly upon them. A few had even spotted the three of you now, and were lurching towards you mindlessly, and this was why Aragorn leapt to his feet and drew his sword. Boromir heard the scrape of the steel as it exited the sheath, and he turned to listen to Aragorn’s instructions.
“Should I help you fight them off for a while?” he asked. “That might give y/n a little time to come round.”
“Yes,” Aragorn replied. “But stick close to them.” And at that, Boromir took one last loving look at you and jumped up to stand beside Aragorn, the two of them a fearsome duo that no number of orcs could reckon with.
For the two men fought flawlessly together, and had spent many days training with each other, laughing and joking afterwards, with many friendly pats on the back. In fact, through the whole journey, they had made sure to sick close to each other, both dreading the idea of losing the other. And they stuck close to you too.
When Boromir had left your side to fight off the uruks, this had startled you a little, and you blinked a couple times, the black dots finally vanishing from your vision, the lens of reality shifting into focus again. You glanced around and took in your surroundings. A canopy of trees, patched with golden sunlight. Yes, that was familiar. The same brown leaves on the floor as before, only now, far in the distance, they were tipped with crimson. And there, facing the orcs, were Boromir and Aragorn, not far away from you. Waves of emotions pulsed through your heart at that sight. The first, a longing, as you laid eyes on the two who held a very special place in your heart, who were fighting to protect you in your time of need. The second, relief. You could see again, and with enough recovery, would be able to fight once more, and get to safety. Then, came the third.
Shame.
It was all too common in your heart these days. The same thing had happened again, and the two men now fought alone, putting themselves in danger, for you. If anything happened to them now, it would be your fault. You could see that they were being pushed back closer and closer to you by the orcs, but suddenly, arrows began to zoom through the air, sticking fast with a quick thump in the orcs that were causing the ranger and the steward’s son to struggle, and noticed Legolas atop a slope, killing off the uruk-hai that Aragorn and Boromir could not handle. This gave you some reassurance, knowing that they were receiving aid.
But then something behind Legolas caught his eye, and he dropped down the other side of the slope and was out of sight of the three of you. The arrows ceased. The orcs drew in again. The men began to tire. Aragorn, however, suddenly seemed to find a burst of strength within him, and lurched forward, dodging with ease and killing many more uruks than he had before. Boromir, however, was still growing tired.
“Boromir, look after y/n,” Aragorn said to him, and he spoke loud enough for you to hear. “You’re more experienced in these situations, and I think you deserve a quick rest.” He spoke so well, you thought. His tone. It was not uncertain, not meek, but not assertive either. He commanded others with such ease, and naturally, they obeyed, for he was not demanding. You began to understand now that eventually, no matter how hard he tried to avoid it, Aragorn would become king, for his words were lined with silk, strong silk that was hard to snap. His leadership was noble, and bravery high. You had often found yourself pondering over the dark-haired ranger, gazing at his stance, the lines of his mouth, his silver-blue eyes, and listening intently to his beautiful voice.
But something deep inside of you knew that, if presented with a choice between Boromir and Aragorn, you would leap into Boromir’s arms, for loving him seemed like it would be so much easier. But of course, you also often doubted that you would ever be presented with that choice, for how could either of them love you? And also, you thought of your observations of late, and remembered how, whenever the two of them spoke to each other, there was a sort of… knowing atmosphere around them, a flowing, silvery care when their hands rested upon each other’s shoulders, and you had often seen them near each other at times of rest. Every time Boromir was wounded, Aragorn would tend to him immediately, bringing out his finest skills as a ranger to ensure his recovery. And you often caught Boromir gazing curiously at Aragorn, perhaps dwelling how he really felt for the man, and admiring his looks, and his personality, just as you had. It twisted your heart, in more ways than one.
But there were secrets within Boromir’s heart that you had been too shy to guess at. Yes, Boromir had been contemplating feelings for Aragorn, you had guessed correctly, but he had been balancing these thoughts with feelings for you, too, your shining eyes, your soft hair, and your beautiful personality, the chemistry the two of you had, your laugh, your smile. My oh my, your smile, Boromir had often thought to himself. But you had indeed failed to see his admiration.
And Aragorn, too, had been battling feelings for both you and Boromir, though he, too, was more aware of his feelings for you. You fought so well, he thought. Spoke so beautifully. Laughed with such passion. You were gorgeous, they both thought. Oh yes, it was a heart-wrenching time for the three of you. If only each of you knew where your hearts truly lay. However, both the lord of Gondor and Isildur’s heir, deep deep down, felt more content when thinking about you. They, too, knew that you would be easier to love. And any other feelings were troubling, but welcome nonetheless.
But let us return to the present for now. Let us return back to the battle, and to Aragorn and Boromir’s conversation. Aragorn was now speaking more quietly to him, quiet enough that you could not hear over the clang of the battle. “Besides,” he continued from his previous instruction, “I think they would prefer to have you there, rather than me.” His voice was mingled with jealousy, over whom he was not sure, and Boromir picked up on it. “What makes you say that?” he said, looking at Aragorn with curiosity. “Like I said, you know this situations better than I do,” he replied, blocking an attack from an orc. “But that isn’t all…” A new group of Uruk-hai came crashing through the trees, and Aragorn knew that this wasn’t the place for that conversation. “I’ll talk to you about it once we’re safe. For now, we need to get out of here.” Now, he began to speak louder again, and still not rudely. “Try to get them up soon. It’s dangerous to rest here.” With the increased volume of his voice, these words reached your ears, and as they sunk in, you were hit with another dreadful wave of guilt and shame. You were a danger to the Fellowship. A shameful burden. You had thought this many times by now.
Boromir nodded slowly, only pondering what had been said previously for a moment, before directing his full attention to you.

Notes: this still isn’t finished by the way! Sorry if this chapter was a little more confusing than the last, but I wanted to try something interesting with the fic and i hope you all enjoyed it. Chapter three should be out sometime next week, probably Wednesday or Thursday. Also i decided to call this chapter Thoughts of Silver because to me whenever i think of boromir x aragorn, the colour I associate them with is silver. I don’t really know why. And silver is mentioned a few times in this so why not?

can (if you feel comfortable) you pls write a fellowship x human reader self harm comfort fic? maybe they see cuts/ scars and ask about it or question reader about blood or why they had to excuse themselves and then reader has to hide it from them more and they find out the reader has relapsed or something - whatever you feel comfortable with! I've been really struggling with this and it would comfort me lots - thank you!
Dear anon, first and foremost, let me tell you (quite seriously) that if you need someone to talk to, I am right here!
I am (unfortunately) not a stranger to the issue and I've done my best to be comforting, writing this at 2 o'clock in the morning because I didn't want to withhold what little measure of solace I might be able to give you for a second too long!
I am sorry if my own experiences (and my utter ignorance of the fellowship) might have skewed this a bit, I hope you can find some comfort in it nonetheless...
Please remember that you are loved and cherished and that I am your friend if ever you need one; I mean every word in my fic, come to me and we'll find other ways to deal with stuff than this, ok?
Lots of love and kisses...

Soul-scars
Words: 1,6 k
Characters: Fellowship x human reader
Warnings: TW self-harm, blood, hurt, hurt and comfort! Be advised!
As this is really sensitive, I've put the whole story under the cut!
AGAIN: TW SELF-HARM
You hated yourself. It was weak, it was stupid, it was despicable.
As the blood ran down your arms like mud, your tears finally dried up; eternally leaking, you felt as if a secret and shameful misery was festering inside your soul and only this – horrible and senseless as it was – could ease the pressure of the bubbling and churning pit of agony in you.
It felt dirty; nothing clean could ever come out of you and the sight of the oozing liquid – looking pitch black in the moonlight – filled you with deep shame.
When you returned to the company, you did your best to pretend that you had not spent the last few minutes frantically digging your dagger into your own skin and watching yourself bleed until the swelling of the indignant flesh had stemmed the trickling flow of impurity and frailty that you tried to hide.
“Are you alright?” Legolas looked up sharply; did he smell the blood? Could he hear your heart roar in your chest?
“I am quite…alright,” you used the same word, only it sounded feeble from your pale, cracked lips.
“You don’t look well,” Gimli agreed with his friend’s worries, “what is the matter?”
Automatically, you tried to turn away from their eyes; you could have dealt with anger, with suspicion, or even with outright pity, but they did not put themselves above you, no, they were worried about one of their own and their gazes expressed concern more than arrogant judgement or disgust.
“Walk with me,” Aragorn asked you gently, leading you back onto the path you had just emerged from.
“How can I help you?” he asked as if it was understood that he knew exactly what you had done.
“I don’t know what you mean,” you tried to deny what seemed so painfully obvious to the others.
Ever since that morning when you had dried your long-sleeved tunic at the edge of the water and everyone had seen the pale scars criss-crossing your arms, they knew; you trusted them with your life so you had decided that you might also entrust your deepest, darkest, dirtiest secret to them.
“Why would you hurt yourself?” Merry and Pippin had been horrified at the mere idea; to them, life was something wonderful that was to be enjoyed fully and pain was merely the price one had to pay. Never in a thousand years would they have wilfully harmed themselves if there was no fun to be had in return; moreover, they had been aghast at the thought that a dear friend of theirs was in such mental pain that they’d decide breaching the integrity of their own skin.
Sam had simply put a small vial into the palm of your hand with the whispered comment that a cut was but a cut until one got a nasty infection. He accepted that there were a million things in the world that he did not understand from the get-go, but Sam was fiercely loyal.
There was not a hurt that would go untended under his care and – no matter whether one had chosen one’s lot or not – he was not the kind of soul to deny anyone help, even if they had brought their fate upon themselves.
“You are precious,” Frodo had smiled sadly, “and it pains me to see that you’re not aware of it.” His tiny, sturdy hand – a hand that held the destiny of Middle-Earth – had closed around yours as if to stay it from inflicting further harm upon yourself.
“Battle-scars are battle-scars,” Boromir had shrugged awkwardly, “even if I cannot see the enemy, I can believe that it’s there and I am ready to fight it.”
With a small side-hug, he had pulled you closer and whispered: “Don’t let them know, but I have come to realise that these fellows might know a trick or two yet unknown to us ignorant humans; let’s pool our knowledge and resources to find a better way to fight and defeat whatever ails you.”
Just like Gimli, Boromir was a practical man, a warrior, a fighter, and a true friend; he had accepted that you were struggling and simply asked you to seek the council and solace of your friends before engaging in the same pig-headed way of dealing with things that had not led to any success this far.
“Oh,” Legolas’ eyes had been as deep as his native forest and almost as sad, “I have heard of souls flickering desperately before petering out; is that what is happening to you?”
You wished you could have said ‘no’, but you had shrugged sheepishly. How could you explain the pain raging inside your heart and soul to someone so pristinely pure and gentle as Legolas?
His was a long and blessed life, the integrity of his graceful body was a gift to be cherished and celebrated, and his people had much more experience with the rise and fall of empires, dynasties, and great hopes.
How could he ever fathom the petty, desperate, pitiful railing of a human soul against the profound unfairness of having so little time at your disposal and yet being denied a single drop of unadulterated happiness?
His life was song and prayer, yours was struggle and almost childish petulance at how much you wanted to live and how tired you were of trying to.
“I am sorry,” you sighed.
“Do not be sorry, my friend,” Aragorn gave you a gentle smile; always in-between, trying to do right by everyone and secretly afraid of failing, he might well have been the person who understood you the best.
“You do not owe us anything,” he went on softly, “the only person you might let down is yourself!”
“I am not the only person hurt though, am I?” you asked tonelessly, remembering Gandalf’s heartbroken expression when he saw scars so numerous, they would have brought great honour to many a seasoned warrior but that were so incongruous and cruel on the flawless skin of one so young and tender yet.
“We are worried about you,” Aragorn admitted, stopping under the wispy, comforting canopy of a large tree, “and it pains me to know that you’d not come to any of us for help and solace.”
“I did not want to bother you,” you whispered, ashamed of your relapse as much as of the wistful expression your weakness had brought into his gaze.
“One day,” he said, staring at the distant horizon, “they might write stories about us, and they’ll pick and choose the best attributes for their rhymes…but we, my friend, we are the chroniclers of our own story.”
He turned back to you, gripping both your shoulders in his broad, callused hands as he spoke insistently: “You are part of that story and I’d much rather you share the truth of it with us; let us keep note of your darkest nights, let us bear the brunt of your most violent storms, let us be there for you.”
“I…” you didn’t know what to say.
“You want to carve your pain into skin? Boromir can stomach pain, Legolas heals quickly, Gimli has tough skin, and I have suffered worse,” he smiled, baring his arm to you, “if you want to eternalise your struggle with blades on flesh, I offer you mine!”
“NO!” you cried, that was absurd, you’d never hurt a friend like that.
“Now you know how we might feel about this,” he said gently, careful not to press you too much, “we’ve talked about this, and you said that sometimes, the pressure gets too strong to withstand. Come to us! Do you think we are strangers to expectations and the crushing weight of the world on our shoulders? We can offer other ways of venting and you may try them all until we find one that works.”
You sighed deeply; he was right. From walks to songs, from cooking to sparring, from brooding silence to frantic babbling, they all had their way of dealing with the hell you had
fallen into and that nobody would make it out alive from if you failed in your quest.
“There are better things to do with blades – axes, knives, arrows, swords – than to hurt one of the most precious souls in this world,” Aragorn shook you lightly, “now go and let Sam look at it.”
That night, after healing salve had been spread on the new cuts, Legolas sat next to you as you drifted over into sleep.
“You might want to curse a dwarf,” he whispered with a small chuckle, “father says it helps.”
A second later, he added with another bell-like peal of laughter: “Father also likes wine. If Gimli was not a dwarf, I think their shared fondness of beverages and seeking someone to fight with, when under stress, would make for a fond friendship between those two.”
You did not truly know where he was going with this, but the sound of his voice was soothing and so, you let him talk you to sleep, smiling to yourself when his cool hand slipped into yours as if to tether you to the earthly plain.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, already half-asleep.
“You’re doing just fine,” he replied, having counted the days since the last occurrence and the one before and finding – much to his relief and satisfaction – that those breakdowns happened with decreasing frequency and lasted for a shorter period, “it will be alright. We all learn as we go, we all heal as we grow, and – as my mother used to say – it will all be well in the end, if it’s not, it only means it’s not yet the end.”
You wondered when Legolas had become so wise, but sleep pulled you under and – against all odds and your own expectations – you slept soundly and peacefully through the night

Even with Natasha’s excellent spy skills, it was proving difficult to keep hers and Y/N’s relationship a secret from the rest of their team. It wasn’t like they couldn’t tell them - they wanted to, but they hadn't yet for a couple of reasons. The first one being that they wanted to wait until their relationship was more serious and didn’t want the entire team knowing yet - it felt more special that way. However, their relationship was now more serious, and the second reason that they hadn’t told the Avengers yet was that they didn’t know how to tell them.
Natasha had opted for a more simpler reveal, wanting to just tell them casually, but she had to respect that Y/N had wanted to go all out for this. Especially since June was arriving soon and Y/N wanted to plan something special for Pride.
They were struggling with what that “something special” would be, though.
Y/N thought of throwing a party, then scratched that out and said dinner - but decided that was too simple - and next thought of telling everyone individually and telling them they couldn’t tell each other to see who’d let it slip first. Natasha had voted for that one and even proposed that they place bets on who’d break first. They were pretty much set on this, until something came up.
Everyone was hanging out in the living room: watching T.V, eating snacks, talking, etc. The only person that was missing was Tony, who promptly ran in seconds later with his iPad made by Stark Industries.
“Guys - guys, there’s a Pride event happening tomorrow!” He exclaimed with the biggest grin.
Sam paused from his epic ping pong battle with Bucky. “We know, Stark,” he said, cursing as he lost a round.
Tony scoffed. “Look,” he said, exasperated, and pointed to the tablet’s screen. The rest leaned forward and looked and, with squinted eyes, read an email to Tony and Steve about the Pride event’s organizers wanting the Avengers to come. “They want us to do something.”
Y/N immediately sat straight up with a dramatic gasp, her lips quickly looping into a smile. She locked eyes with Natasha, who raised an eyebrow at her. “Leave it to me. I have the perfect idea. Nat, will you help?” she said.
Natasha concealed her smirk, leaning back against the couch. She caught on, and could practically see the wheels turning in her girlfriend’s head. “Of course,” she replied.
It was set. Y/N and Natasha would take care of what the Avengers would do - but when Natasha asked Y/N about it, she admitted that she didn’t have an idea yet. All she knew was that that was how she wanted to reveal to her teammates that she and Natasha were dating, and the redheaded spy agreed.
When it came time for the parade, Y/N was biting her lip and not really talking much, just trying to take in her surroundings, as she still didn’t have an idea. Once her eyes soaked in the rainbow colored everything — the streets of NYC closed off, flags, signs, dancing, singing — it made everything 10x better. She felt at ease. At home.
The Avengers soon immersed themselves in the crowd. Talking with fans, signing autographs, posing for pictures. The entire team was decked out in rainbow and Pride gear. Face paint, dresses, shirts, all of it. Y/N even had her and Natasha’s flags tucked into her pocket.
The idea that she and Natasha needed to do something floated out of her mind, until she saw a band getting onto a built-in stage, beginning to play a song. Y/N grinned when she recognized it — “Not a Phase”.
As the song began, Y/N locked eyes with Natasha again as she finished signing a fan’s paper. They both grinned. Almost immediately, everyone began falling into a dance like second nature, and only Y/N could see that Natasha was mouthing the lyrics to her.
Y/N finally got an idea and walked over to Natasha, singing quietly, “At first I wasn’t sure of it, then I was just okay with it-” she continued singing as she grabbed Natasha’s hand and slowly led her onto the stage. “-I cannot get enough of it, now I love it.”
As the best dropped and the lead singer began with the “It’s not a phase,” line, Y/N cupped Natasha’s cheek and kissed her. Natasha immediately kissed her back and wrapped her arms around Y/N’s waist, one hand in her hair. She continued the kiss by dipping Y/N.
The crowd erupted in cheers - but even more so when they realized that the people kissing were two Avengers. The rest of the Avengers had turned their attention to the band when the music began, and their eyes were wide and jaw open to see two of their friends kissing.
After Y/N was dipped, she curled one leg around Natasha’s waist and Natasha hoisted her up, carrying her off the stage. On the sidewalk, Natasha put her down, where the Avengers shuffled towards to meet them.
“Was that your plan?” Steve asked with a smile, but still stunned.
Y/N nodded.
Wanda immediately squealed and hugged both of them, and the rest expressed their congratulations and support.
Y/N dug her and Natasha’s flags out of her pocket and showed them off before Natasha kissed her again, making everyone cheer once more.

My heartbeat was wild and mostly erupting from my chest as the whole world around me seemed to quiet down. The mesh shirt I was wearing was already crumpled from all the times I had fiddled with it nervously. To be honest, could anyone really blame me? I have been obsessed with Måneskin for ages, and I finally get to see them live. A small, really pesky part of my brain kept bugging me. They would have no reason to like or notice you; why are you even here? Well, that definitely did not help the anxious feeling growing in my stomach.
Suddenly, the crowd erupted in cheers as four rock stars appeared on the stage.
And oh god what they were wearing. A certain blonde caught my attention, one who I was more than familiar with. Victoria strutted on the stage, her bass strap wrapped around her, as a small corset did nothing to cover her. Two black stripes of tape covered each of her boobs and she looked celestial. It was unfair to everyone else! How could she just look like that!?
“Is everyone ready?” Damiano’s strong voice sounded out of the speakers, earning an excited cheer from everyone.
As they started playing, I realised I was no longer anxious. Moving from side to side and jumping along with them, It felt as If the world stopped temporarily just for me to enjoy this moment. It was truly heaven, and their magnetic presence made it infinitely better.
“Now, for a fan favorite…” Damiano spoke into the mic, soon interrupted by the all too familiar notes of For Your Love. Oh god.
I couldn’t decide who to pay attention to; Ethan’s godly form playing the drums in a way I wished he would play my ass, Thomas’ talented fingers strumming the guitar chords, Damiano fucking the stage while singing or-
Oh.
I was one of the lucky ones who got to sit up front. So my view of Victoria was truly a dream come true. Her eyes were closed as she thrusted into the air, her hips moving with precision and skill, as she moved her head backwards in rhythm with the song. Two of her fingers were plucking the chords, clouding my mind with thoughts of what else she could do with them.
The whole song became a vivid fantasy for me, as I kept watching Victoria play, entranced by her sensuality. The song sadly came to a stop, and Damiano started speaking again. My lovely brain, however, could only gaze at Victoria, her wonderful top and fingers.
As If on cue, she knelt down right at the edge of the stage, and winked at me. Wait, she did what? My brain stopped functioning as I kept staring at her, eyes comically wide and mouth hanging open.
She smirked at my reaction, and motioned for me to come closer with her finger. A bodyguard came and opened the barrier, as I made my way through.
I was right in front of the stage, looking in her icy blue eyes. She leaned down and cupped my cheek, shaking it softly.
“Wanna stay here, cucciola?” She asked,  a sultry smile appearing on her face. I nodded eagerly, causing her to laugh, before returning to her band.
The rest of the concert managed to make me so wet I was convinced my knees would give in the second I would try to walk. Between Victoria grinding on the floor right in front of me, making sure to stare right in my eyes, Damiano jumping in the crowd and grabbing Thomas, as well as Ethan being an overall god-like presence.
It was, however, over, as soon as it started. My face fell as they all waved their goodbyes to the crowd, and I turned around, preparing to leave, but was soon interrupted by a guard.
“Miss De Angelis said that she would like you to go backstage.”
That was the second time the girl’s actions shocked me. I certainly hoped it wouldn’t be the last as I followed the guard to the back.
“Ah, there you are, cucciola!” Her raspy voice exclaimed, as she headed towards me and grabbed my waist, leading me towards a changing room before I could even mutter a word.
“You, I me- mean ...Why? Like… I just thi-I” Damn it, where was my wittiness when I needed it? If I wasn’t already blushing, I probably looked like a sweaty tomato right now.
“Oh darling, I suggest you figure out how to talk, so I’ll know how to please you later.” She murmured in my ear, my knees almost giving up at her words.
“Oh god, umm, I- hi.” I managed to let out. I’m so glad I could ramble about crystals for 3 hours but when It comes to basic greetings my mind just dips. Lovely.
“We have about 15 minutes before we need to leave.” She said, grabbing my body and pulling me right against her, softly nibbling on my neck.
“Considering the way you fucked the stage earlier, I think even 5 would suffice.” Ah yes, my brain was back. Temporarily, though, because Victoria’s hungry lips smashed into mine in a fraction of a second, quickly turning me around so I would be prompted against the wall.
We moved in sync as she sucked every breath out of me and explored my mouth with her tongue. She bit my lip hard, and licked the reddish spot which appeared, before moving onto my neck.
She sucked on every inch of my skin, leaving deep red marks in her wake, which would definitely be an interesting subject of discussion once I got home. I couldn’t help but let out the most pathetic whines, which only seemed to turn Victoria on more.
“So fucking desperate puppy. All I do is dance a little on stage and you’re already willing to be on your knees for me.” She purred right against my breast, earning a deep moan from my treacherous mouth,
“What can I say, I like being a good girl.”
Her mouth bit into the soft skin which was now exposed, as my poor shirt was laying on the floor, discarded seconds ago. I whimpered and bucked my hips into the air, whining even more at the realisation that there was nothing there.
“Please..” I begged, as she kept kissing and licking around my hardened buds, heating me up even more.
“Take your pants off, then” She instructed, and I did it in a heartbeat, the piece of clothing joining my shirt.
The last thing I saw was the blonde’s head lower , before her tongue finally gave me what I wanted. She swiped it deeply inside of me, humming at the liquids pouring from me. Moving to my clit, she started circling around it as one of her long fingers thrusted deep inside of me.
“Fuck… Victoria…”
She added another finger and quickened her pace, as I rapidly approached my edge. God, no one did it as well as her. She was getting rougher by the second, biting at my thighs and sucking hardly, until she heard my breath catch, before I erupted in a mess of loud moans and screams.
I came hard on her hand as she guided me down to the ground, licking the tears falling from my eyes.
“You really do like being a good girl.” She whispered, cupping my cheek and pressing a soft kiss on my puffy lips.
“Oh I can be bad too.” I smirked, watching as her eyes darkened.”
“How about you return to the hotel with me, and we can explore that talent too…”
***
More than half an hour had passed, and I was sitting in an Uber right next to Victoria. While the band packed up their stuff, I hung out on the stage, eating a popsicle Damiano had given me.
“Do you have to be anywhere early tomorrow?” Victoria’s voice interrupted my thoughts, softly grazing her fingers over my thighs.
“Like I wouldn’t cancel them for you.” I responded, earning a soft chuckle from her.
“Excellent. How about we talk a little then, hmm?” She asked, pulling me closer to her.
“About what?” I asked, clearly thinking of innocent topics.
“Which was your favourite part about how I fucked you backstage.”
Oh. My. God. At this point, my brain had stopped working so many times, I probably had approximately 2 brain cells left. And damn, I answered in a corresponding fashion.
“I must say I enjoyed the talking.”
Victoria laughed, a devilish grin forming on her face, as I bet her mind filled with the dirtiest ideas.
“I’ll take your word for it. I’ll make sure we’ll do just enough talking.”
“Wait no- You know, I really liked the cum part too.” I tried to save myself, because let’s be honest, If this woman was anything, it was a tease.
“Considering how loud you were moaning, I bet you were.” She purred again, dragging her fingers further up my thighs.
“Tell me, what did you fantasise about most while watching me play?”
My mind went blank, but not really, as the thought of her grinding on my face while practicing the bass made its way into my head. God, I was royally fucked.
“Tell me, pet.” She snarled against my neck, grabbing it roughly and bending me over.
Her hand wandered down to my ass, grabbing it roughly before slithering back around to my stomach, and pulling me up again.
“Practicing your bass on my face.” I moaned out, red and embarrassed.
“A lovely imagination you have. I’ll make sure to consult it more often.”
“That won’t work. It seems to go blank around you.”
Victoria smirked at my confession and pressed me down onto her lap, slowly working her way under my shirt.
“I really like this. Where did you get it?”
“My mom.”
“She wears this?”
Fuck. “Oh, you meant the shirt?”
Scoffing and rolling her eyes, she pulled the material up, and pressed a wet kiss to both of my breasts. Oh god, this girl would kill me.
“My special thanks to her. And also my apologies, because I’ll fuck you till you scream and cry tonight.”

Totally and Completely in Love {Legolas x Reader}
A.N: I’m extremely proud of this. I’ve worked on it for two weeks and just really love it. I think it’s actually my favorite thing I’ve ever written, so it would mean so much to me if you guys let me know what you think of it.
Requested by Anon on Tumblr: Hey! Can I request a Legolas x (human)reader where the reader is on the quest with the fellowship and she gets a really bad fever along the way (my idea was she passes out and Legolas carries her and takes care of her - but that's just an idea, you can make it any way you wish!) and while she's in fever shaking and high temperature she accidentally admits her feelings for Legolas not even knowing what she says cause she's so very ill. With lots of fluff along the way - fluff in your fics is just amazing 🥺 OH AND plus Aragorn who's shipping them the whole time like he always does! I was thinking about this for a long time and I just had to request it! Thank you so so so sooo muchh ❤️❤️❤️ Lots of love!
Word Count: 4, 318 ....oops. My bad.
Pairing: Legolas x Reader
Summary: You catch a cold and Legolas takes care of you.
Warnings: Swears, sickness/fever

Totally and Completely in Love
You dove under the water, probing with your hands until you hit what you thought was an ankle. Yanking it, you felt the person attached stumble and join you under the water. You came up for air, laughing to see Merry spluttering as he recovered from his sudden dunking.
Leaving Rivendell some days previously, you had been excited for the journey and adventure you were about to embark on. Now, though, you were starting to feel a little worse for wear. After spotting the small waterfall and pool it flowed into, you and the hobbits had begged Aragorn to stop early for the day, desperate to wash up. After a lot of begging, he had finally agreed, and here you were.
Aragorn had wanted to get a more thorough grasp of the terrain if you were to be camping here, and Legolas and Gimli had volunteered to join him. Aragorn had rolled his eyes, knowing that he would spend a lot of time breaking up arguments and friendly competitions between the two, but they left. (You fondly recalled the time when, after a long day of walking, the two had started a competition to find the most firewood. It had ended with them having a tug-of-war with a large log while the rest of the group rolled around laughing at them, which doubled when Aragorn chopped the log in half, causing them each to fall back on their asses.) While they scouted, Sam got a fire going, and Boromir and Gandalf did who knows what, you and the other three hobbits had decided to go wash your clothes. Merry and Pippin had quickly started a fight, however, and upon seeing them in the pool with the mist spraying into the air, creating rainbows, you had stripped down to your underthings and joined them, determined to win, while Frodo looked on and called out advice from a nearby rock. It was freezing, uncomfortably so, but it was worth it to be able to feel even a little bit clean again.
“Nice one, Y/N!” he cried out now, nodding his approval as you dunked Pippin. You ignored the fact that as a human, you had a size advantage over the small hobbits, and proceeded to do a victory lap in the water.
Swimming around, you admired the natural beauty that you had somehow stumbled upon. Small cliffs rose around you, about the height of a small oak tree, sheltering the little lagoon. The waterfall cascaded down the rocks into the pool of shimmering blue water, which filtered out between a small gap in the rocks, forming a river. The green leaves of the trees were reflected in the water, giving it a teal tint, and the sun made the grains in the rocks sparkle. All of this gave the small area a truly ethereal look.
You were suddenly startled from your reverie by two hobbit-sized shapes crashing into you from above. While you had been admiring the scenery, Merry and Pippin had climbed onto the rocks to ambush you. Forcing your head underwater, they giggled as you came back up, gasping. Their amusement quickly turned to fear as you turned to them with a devilish glint in your eyes. You tackled them and smirked as their faces turned to twin looks of outrage. “What was that for?”
“You guys jumped me! I did what I had to do.” You leaned back in the water, very pleased with yourself as you heard a stifled chuckle from the nearby rocks.
“Oh, you think that’s funny, do you, Frodo?” Pippin was advancing on him now, looking comically angry. Merry grabbed him and whispered something in his ear that you couldn’t quite hear. Pippin nodded, his face turning serious.
“We should go back to the campsite, see if there’s any food.” Merry was now climbing onto the shore and tucking his shirt into his wet trousers.
“You just want to steal some of Sam’s stew before everyone else!” Pippin elbowed him. “And what if I do?” Merry set off running towards the campsite, Pippin following him with a curse and a shout of, “Now he’ll eat it all and there’ll be none left for me!”
You made your way onto the shore a bit more sedately. Once out of the water, you began shivering and hastened to get redressed. Frodo had looked away, blushing, when you climbed out of the water, and you teased him. “C’mon Frodo, everything important is covered!”
This was true, you had kept your wrappings over your chest on, as well as your other undergarments. “Still,” the hobbit kept his eyes averted as you tugged your tunic over your head, lacing it as you spoke, “it’s not proper.” You shook your head at him in pretend exasperation. “I’m decent, let us go see if Merry really did eat all the stew.”
Sitting around the fire with your companions, you would have been quite content had you still not been so cold. Sam’s stew had warmed you for a little while, but now you were hunched over in your still-damp clothes, shivering. “Are you all right, Y/N?” Legolas looked down at you from his perch on the log next to you, concern in his eyes. “Yes,” you nodded, teeth chattering. “Just cold.”
“Well, maybe Legolas could warm you up?” Aragorn winked at you.
“No!” you cried, and then leaned over and punched Aragorn’s arm.
“Ow! What was that for?” he exclaimed, but you just sat back, pleased with yourself, yet still shivering.
Legolas looked uncertain for a second, then wrapped his arm around your shoulders, bringing you close to his warmth. You unconsciously pressed closer against him, drawn to the heat emanating from his body. As you did, he stiffened. He then jumped up, leaving you sitting there, confused as he made his way over to his pack. Grabbing something, he came back over and held it out to you.
“You’re freezing because your clothing is soaked!” He informed you and the group of this. “Yes, Legolas, I know. I’m the one wearing the soaked clothes.” You attempted to say this deadpan, but it was ruined by the clicking sound of your teeth chattering.
“Well, I was thinking- I don’t have pants that’ll fit you, but you can wear my tunic.” He blushed. “It might be a little large, but at least it’s dry.”
“Oh, no Legolas, I’m fine, really.” You didn’t want him to notice how you were nervously playing with your hair, something you always did when embarrassed.
“Really, Y/N. Take it.” He shook it at you, and, sighing, you stood and grabbed it out of his hand. “Thank you, Legolas.” You made your way to the edge of the campsite, grabbing a new set of wrappings for your breasts before disappearing into the forest to change.
Behind a tree, you lifted the damp tunic over your head and rewrapped your chest with practiced ease. You then pulled Legolas’ soft tunic on. It was rather large on you, falling a little lower on your legs than yours usually did. It hit your waist at a nice angle, however, accentuating it nicely. The real issue was the neckline. It had no laces and was much deeper than you usually wore, exposing a lot more skin than you were used to. After unsuccessfully trying to close the v-neck in some way, you gave up and just prayed no one would look too closely.
Walking back into the campsite, you draped your wet tunic over your pack, hoping it would dry overnight.
“I feel much warmer now, thank you.” You sat back down on the log next to Legolas. His eyes drifted across your body, taking in the sight of you in his clothes. “It looks good on you.” He blushed, and you tucked a piece of loose hair behind your ear, feeling rather pleased by the compliment.
“Hey, lovebirds!” came a shout from across the fire. Boromir was sitting with Merry and Pippin and was unwrapping something encased in leaves. You quickly scooched apart from Legolas, fidgeting, and craned your neck to see what Boromir had.
“What is that?” Legolas was just as curious, and just as embarrassed.
“While you were all off doing stuff earlier, I went and gathered some berries!” Boromir finished unwrapping them and held them up triumphantly. You could see strawberries and blueberries spilling out onto the leaves, and licked your lips in anticipation. After taking a few, Boromir passed the pouch around the fire, and everyone took a couple. You bit into a strawberry, savoring the sweetness.
“These are delicious, thank you, Boromir.” Aragorn was trying to speak around a mouthful of blueberries, which just caused the blue juice to run down his chin. Soon, you were all giggling at each other devouring the fruit, not caring if any got on your faces. Even Gandalf had a streak of blue running into his long grey beard, a fact that amused Pippin greatly. Finished, you leaned back with a sigh, patting your stomach with satisfaction.
“Thank you, Boromir. Truly, they were a wonderful treat.”
“Happy to, Y/N!” And indeed he did look pleased to see everyone enjoying something he had done for them.
You made your way down to the waterfall, this time accompanied by the whole Fellowship except Gandalf, who had stayed behind to tend the fire. You all splashed water on your faces to clean them of the sticky berry residue. You were careful to just get your face wet, not wanting to dampen Legolas’ tunic, but even with just your face you still got really cold again. Shivering, you turned and walked back to the campsite, admiring the stars shining above the foliage.
Reaching the campsite, you walked over to your bedroll and dragged it closer to the fire. Not so close that people would be worried, but close enough that you could hopefully soak up the meager warmth as the flames dwindled into embers overnight. You climbed in under your blanket and curled up in a ball to preserve as much body heat as possible. Lulled by the crackling of the fire and the soft murmurs of your friends getting ready for the night, you drifted off to sleep, grateful that you weren’t on the watch list that night.
“Y/N. Wake up, it’s time to go.” You were shaken awake the next morning by Legolas, who smiled at you fondly before moving on to help pack up. Stretching, you sat up and immediately recoiled. Your head hurt. And you were cold. And also somehow hot. And you felt a tad bit woozy. But you were fine, you didn’t want to hold up the journey, so you gathered the courage and emerged from your bedding, rolling it up and packing it away as you hissed in discomfort.
Walking across the campsite, your arm was grabbed by Aragorn, who pulled you off to the side. “Are you ok? You look out of sorts.” It was true, you were shaking a little bit with chills, but he didn’t need to know that.
“Oh, I’m completely fine, Aragorn. Don’t worry about me!” You faked a smile in an attempt to prove that you were, as you said, fine. Pulling your arm out of his grasp, you shouldered your pack and set off behind Boromir.
As the day went on, you felt fainter and fainter. One second you would feel like you were a furnace, the next you thought you’d never be warm again. It was taking all your energy to focus on simply putting one foot in front of the other, but you kept going, determined not to be the cause of any delays.
After you had stopped for lunch, Legolas drifted to the back of the group to walk with you. Noticing your shakiness earlier, he had decided to check on you.
“Are you alright, Y/N?” His gaze met yours, and the touching concern in his eyes almost made you stumble, although to be fair anything could have made you stumble, you were so tired at this point.
“Why does everyone keep asking me that? Seriously, Legolas, I’m fi-” Your body finally gave up on you, and you passed out. The elf was not expecting this and tried to catch you as you fell, succeeding only in slowing you down so that you hit the ground gently, cradled in his arms. Feeling your forehead, he sucked in a breath of shock.
“She’s burning up.” He informed the rest of the Fellowship, who were all gathered around the two of you like a bunch of concerned mother hens.
“We cannot stop yet.” Aragorn looked worried.
“I will carry Y/N until we camp for the night.” Boromir volunteered. Had you been conscious, you would have protested being carried at all. You wouldn’t have cared who you were carried by. But someone else did.
“No, Boromir. I’ll carry her.” With this Legolas scooped you into his arms, startling Boromir with his determination. Aragorn just smirked. “Let us continue, then.” And they set off, you in Legolas’ arms, head resting against his chest.
Legolas heard Pippin softly asking Aragorn questions as they moved. “I don’t understand, why did Y/N catch a cold but we did not?”
“Hobbits are hardier folk than us humans. You can withstand much harsher conditions. It is why I did not join you in the water, and I have elvish blood, so it would not have been as bad for me as it is for Y/N.” The elf secretly did not know much about humans and their sicknesses, so he found this explanation rather helpful.
Legolas kept looking down at you, marveling at how, even sick, you looked so peaceful. You wore a faint smile as if you were having a pleasant dream.
“Legolas?” You whispered, squirming in his arms. He jolted at the sound of his name coming out of your mouth.
“Y/N? Are you awake?” He brushed your hair out of your face and saw that your eyes were still closed. He figured it was just you having a dream about the Fellowship, his name just happened to be the one you mentioned. Then you spoke again.
“I love you, Legolas.” He stopped in shock as you shifted in his arms again.
“You love me too? That’s good.” You sighed, wiggling your nose in that cute way Legolas liked, head still resting against his chest.
The elf, meanwhile, was standing there. Dumbstruck, with you fast asleep in his arms, he stood there until an unsuspecting Gimli crashed into him from behind.
“Lad! Yeh don’t just stop in the middle of the path! Keep moving!”
Legolas was still too shocked to come up with a retort, so he silently stepped to the side, letting the dwarf pass. Aragorn was next but paused to get Legolas to keep walking. “Legolas. What is wrong? Do you grow weary of carrying Y/N?”
“No!” The elf turned away from Aragorn, fearing that the man would insist on taking you.
Aragorn backed up a step, hands in the air. “Very well then. If you are not tired, why are you so on edge?”
“Y/N was talking in her sleep.”
“So? What does that have to do with yo- Legolas, why are you blushing?!” The ranger looked very amused by the flushed elf. “What, exactly, did she say?”
“She, um, well- she said she loved me.” Legolas was trying very hard not to meet Aragorn’s eyes.
Meanwhile, Aragorn had a shit-eating grin on his face. “Well, that is wonderful news! Now the two of you can stop the ridiculous flirting and pining.”
“Aragorn- you do not think she could have meant it?” Legolas was now looking at his friend, and Aragorn could see the beginnings of hope in his eyes.
“Of course she meant it! She was having a dream, about you, and told you she loved you. How could it be any clearer?”
“Well, that’s just it. It was a dream. It probably did not mean anything.” As Legolas spoke, Aragorn saw him convince himself that it was not true. “Legolas.” The blond turned his head and looked Aragorn in the eyes.
“I believe that Y/N means what she said in that dream. I have seen it in the way she acts with you. If you do not, then I cannot convince you. But I will say- ask her about it when she wakes up. Just mention the dream.”
With that Aragorn sped up, leaving a conflicted, confused, and still blushing Legolas walking slowly at the back of the group.
“I think you should tell her,” came a voice from down near his elbow. Legolas’ gaze drifted down to focus on Merry, who had somehow appeared next to him while he was lost in thought. “Tell her what?” The elf tried to deny everything, but Merry wasn’t having it.
“Tell her that you love her!” The hobbit looked so earnest that Legolas couldn’t help but listen to him. Merry continued, “I know if I loved someone, I’d want them to know. Not even because we could lose our lives at any moment, just because I think they deserve it. It’s like in the old stories Mr. Bilbo used to tell. She deserves to know you love her, Legolas. Tell her before it’s too late.”
Struck by the serious set of the hobbit’s face, and emotions in his eyes, Legolas nodded. “All right then. I guess I’ll ask her tonight.” He looked nervous, but then his eyes drifted down to look upon your sleeping form, cradled in his arms, and his face softened.
“Don’t let Boromir or Gimli see you looking at her like that, though- they’ll think you’ve gone soft!” And with that, Merry bounded back up to walk with Pippin.
Legolas was again by himself (well, not entirely, you were still there, but that might not count because you were unconscious), left to mull over his thoughts. He had been bluffing with Merry, he was most certainly not going to ask you about your feelings for him that night, but reflecting on the hobbit’s words something struck him. You were all on a perilous quest, it would be better for you to know now. And he could just ask you about your dream, inquire after your sleep. He didn’t have to confess to anything unless you did- which he was sure wasn’t going to happen, who could love him? But it did sound like a decent plan, so he decided to go through with it.
Just as that thought of resolve crossed his brain, you stirred. Opening your eyes, you gazed blearily at the world around you until your gaze came to rest on the face above you.
Blinking, it came into focus. “Legolas? What- why are you carrying me? What happened?”
“You fainted, Y/N. We think you have a fever, you must have caught a cold from swimming yesterday.” He was still walking as he spoke.
“Ok. Well, thank you for carrying me. I can walk now.”
When he didn’t, you asked again. “I’m fine, Legolas. Really, put me down.”
He still refused to do so.
“Put me down, Legolas!”
Finally, he answered. “I will not. I will carry you until we camp tonight.”
Overhearing him, Aragorn called out back to you. “Well, it’s a good thing we just found a place to camp!”
“Frodo, would you mind grabbing me Y/N’s pack from Aragorn and just spreading out her bedroll so she can rest?” Legolas was walking over to a spot he thought you would like as he spoke. Frodo came over with your bedroll, laying it out on a nice, flat area of ground. As pleased as you were, you still had to protest.
“I do not need rest, Legolas. What I need is for you to put me down!”
Sensing that perhaps it was just best to do as you said, the elf gently eased you to your feet. The second you were standing, you started to feel dizzy, and the chills came back. You fell back into Legolas’ waiting arms, too tired to stand.
“Okay, fine, maybe I do need to rest.” You yawned as he lowered you onto your bedroll, tucking the blankets in around you. “But I don’t want to be here, away from everyone. Carry me over to sit around the fire.” You made a regal face as Legolas picked you back up. The fire was crackling in the center of the small clearing, and everyone else was gathered around as Sam served supper.
“So demanding,” he muttered under his breath, jokingly. “Oh!” You were playfully offended.
He set you down, wrapping your blanket around your shoulders before settling next to you. Sam passed you a bowl of stew, and you inhaled the scent of it.
“Rabbit and potato tonight?” You could always guess what was in it.
“How do you guess right every time?” Pippin was amazed.
“I guess I just have a refined, expert sense of smell, you declared and dug into the delicious stew.
Sighing, you placed your bowl on the ground, empty, and leaned into Legolas’ side. He stiffened, surprised, before wrapping his arm around your shoulders and drawing you closer to him.
“How are you feeling?”
“Better, thank you. Still tired, but I’m not as cold.”
He nodded and looked back at your companions around the fire. Who, in fact, were all staring at the two of you. Again. You scooched away from the elf, realized just how cold it was away from his arms, and promptly moved back closer to him, burying your face in his chest to titters from the group around you.
“Oh, shut up.” You didn’t care, Legolas was warm and you were cold, it was as simple as that. Nothing else. Or at least, that was what you were telling yourself.
Later that night, after you had wobbled back over to your bedroll with the help of Merry and Pippin each propping you up on one side, you lay there, unable to sleep. You didn’t understand why- you were very tired, you just couldn’t sleep. Your tossing and turning must have caught the attention of the person, or rather, elf, on watch, as he came over and sat down next to you.
“Are you okay?” He looked worried.
“Fine. I just can't seem to fall asleep.” You sat up, now at eye level with the blond archer.
“Ah. Well, unfortunately, I do not know how to get you to sleep, but I can keep you company if that is all right.” You nodded, and the two of you sat there, looking up at the stars glowing in the sky, framed like a portrait by the foliage of the trees surrounding the clearing.
After a while, he spoke again. “Y/N, can I ask you something?”
You nodded.
“What were you dreaming about earlier?”
You tucked your hair behind your ear, embarrassed as you recalled the dream from earlier where you and Legolas had fallen in love. Deciding that denial was the best course of action here, you spoke. “I did not dream.”
“Y/N. You were talking in your sleep.”
Uh oh.
“What did I say?”
Now he was blushing. You internally prepared yourself for whatever embarrassing thing he was about to say, ready to deny your feelings.
“You, um… well, you said you loved me.”
You wouldn’t meet his eyes. “I’m so sorry, Legolas. It was just a silly, dream, it meant nothing, I don’t feel that way about you at all…” Babbling, your eyes went back to his face, unprepared for the depth of disappointment in his eyes and the sadness written there.
“You truly do not feel like that?”
After seeing his face, feeling the emotion conveyed in his voice, a small flame of hope lit in your chest. Taking a deep breath, you decided to be brave.
You took his hand, entwining your fingers with his as you took a deep breath. “I lied, Legolas. I love you.”
You saw the shock on his face. “It’s ok if you don’t feel the same, we can never speak of it again. We can go back to normal, this doesn’t have to be a big deal.” Your babbling was cut off by the elf.
“Y/N. I love you. Totally and completely, with every fiber of my being, I love you.”
Shyly, you reached your hand out and brushed his cheek.
“Really?”
“Really.”
“That’s good.”
He laughed. “You said that after I told you in your dream!”
“I did?”
He nodded. “Now, let’s see if you can get some sleep. It’s late.”
He moved so that you were between his legs, head resting on his chest as he leaned up against a rock. You snuggled in close, and he began rubbing circles on your shoulder. He began to softly hum, a tune you did not recognize but liked just the same. Lulled by his soft voice and the motions of his hands, you drifted into a deep, wonderful sleep.
Legolas sat there, you in his arms, marveling at the turn of events. A movement from Aragorn’s bedroll startled him, but he made sure not to wake you up. The ranger sat up, facing him.
“I told you so.” Aragorn winked at him, looking mightily pleased with himself.
“Well, now that you’re awake, you might as well begin your shift of watch!” Legolas looked triumphant and watched as the ranger sighed and rose, moving over to sit on a boulder that overlooked the whole camp.
“Get some sleep, Legolas,” Aragorn advised.
Careful to not wake you, Legolas moved so that he was lying next to you, arm wrapped around your waist and chin resting just above your head. He sighed and felt himself slowly drift off to join you, his beloved, in the land of sleep.

Informalities - Éomer x reader
Tumblr media
Request:  “Eomer x reader fic where the reader is from our world and Eomer listens to the stories the reader says of our world and he thinks that it is a grand place and so when they are finally getting together, Eomer feels kind of insecure cuz he feels he'll never live up to the reader's "standards" and the reader says that they are insecure because he is a prince and she has nothing"

Warnings: mention of battles and death, about 2,200 words
A/N: Hoppy Easter lads and lasses, we are back from a many month writing hiatus. Hope y’all enjoy, I’m glad to be here :)
You genuinely had no idea how you’d ended up in Middle Earth.
It was one of those fever dream situations - one moment you were falling asleep in your own bed, and the next you were waking up at the bottom of a tree, surrounded by many bearded and concerned looking men.
Of course you’d been startled and so, so confused, but it had only taken you a few moments to recognize the characters from one of your favorite stories, and then you’d fully accepted your new reality.
By the time you first encountered the fellowship, they had already lost Gandalf at Moria and passed through the realm of Lothlorien. They were traveling in their fancy elvish boats when they’d spotted you from the river. You were extremely grateful for that - who knows what would’ve happened if the Uruk-hai tracking them had found you first.
Boromir and Gimli were quite intimidated by your presence, having been brought up in traditions that designated men for warrior roles. Aragorn and Legolas were much more accepting (female elves were just as badass as any male elf or man, and both of them knew that). The hobbits had all taken an immediate liking to you, and you’d been devastated to lose them during the Uruk ambush. Of course, this only gave you a stronger drive to track them into Rohan with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli.
It was there that you met Éomer for the first time, after his riders surrounded your small group of assumed invaders.
He was handsome, there was no denying that, and you found his decision to protect Rohan even in exile extremely brave. He’d been startled by your presence (a group including a dwarf, an elf, AND a woman must’ve been an oddity for him), and thus had talked primarily with Aragorn, but you could not shake the way his eyes locked with yours as he offered you his condolences about Merry and Pippin.
You figured you’d never see the handsome blonde again, glumly complaining to Gimli about it several times throughout Rohan.
Thus, you’d been overjoyed when he arrived at the Battle of Helm’s Deep - half because he was saving your asses from almost certain death, and half because you’d get to see his face and hear his voice again.
You followed Aragorn after the battle, searching for Gandalf in the celebrating crowd. It did not take long, with his bright white robes being quite easy to pick out.
“Gandalf!” you screamed gleefully, weaving between the people around you to get to the smiling wizard.
“It is good to see you, (Y/n),” he said as you embraced him.
“Oh, it’s even better to see you,” you said.
“I have to agree with (Y/n),” Aragorn said from behind you. You pulled back, allowing Gandalf time to greet your friend, and quickly caught sight of a familiar face.
He had been laughing with some other men when his gaze fell on you, eyes locking with yours for the second time. You smiled a bit and offered an awkward wave, face flushing as he flashed you a smile.
“Ah, (Y/n), this is Lord Éomer, current heir to the throne of Rohan,” Gandalf said, noticing the two of you staring at each other.
“We’ve met before,” he said, walking towards you
“Indeed we have,” you replied as he stopped just in front of you. “It is a pleasure to meet you, oh-future-king,” you said, bowing a bit.
You could hear Aragorn slap his forehead from behind you and grinned.
“She’s not from around here, so do forgive her manners,” Aragorn said.
“Or lack thereof,” you added, straightening yourself once more and looking at Éomer’s amused face.
“I appreciate the informality,” Éomer grinned. You spun around and pointed at Aragorn.
“See? Someone appreciates me,” you accused.
You were extremely happy to meet Éomer. It’s not that you didn’t adore Aragorn and Legolas and Gimli, but they were also the only people you’d been around for quite a while. It was exciting to make a new friend, especially one so handsome and charismatic.
The two of you spent the entire ride to Isengard delving into each other’s lives, from childhoods to secret fears to favorite foods. Obviously, the two of you had led quite different lives, and he was fascinated by the world you had come from.
“These cars you speak of, are they like horses?” he asked.
“No, they’re much faster,” you replied. “They’re more like a carriage, since they have space for several people inside.”
“But it moves without a horse?”
“Yup!”
“Who steers in then?”
You were grinning ear to ear at the look of bewilderment on his face.
“One of the people inside,” you answered. “There’s a wheel to control which direction you go and pedals on the floor to control the speed.”
“That sounds terribly complicated,” Éomer said, brows furrowing.
“It’s not too bad,” you said, “I was even pretty good at it.”
Éomer shot you an alarmed look.
“You used to steer these...these things?” he asked incredulously. You laughed and nodded. “You have to be taught how to do it,” you explained. “It’s not like they throw you into it without any preparation.”
“It still sounds extremely dangerous,” he decided.
“I did break my arm in a crash once,” you said thoughtfully. He gasped.
“You can crash them?”
Éomer had quickly become one of your favorite people, which only made the continuous battles over the fate of Middle Earth even more stressful. You were terrified he would ride into a fight and never return, and even more terrified of what that meant.
You’d searched for him for hours after the Battle for Minas Tirith, heart growing more and more heavy as you continued. Every person you asked had no idea where he was, and by the time you returned to the White City, your hands were shaking with anxiety. Finding him outside of the makeshift infirmary that had been set up was the most relieving moment of your entire life.
You had gasped the moment you caught sight of his all too familiar golden hair, letting out a desperate sob as his eyes met yours, him rushing over to you and wrapping you in his arms. Your embrace was filled with all the emotions both of you were too terrified to say aloud.
“I thought you were dead,” you murmured into his chest, eyes wet and lips trembling.
“It will take far more than a few Oliphaunts to kill me,” he whispered, pressing his lips to the top of your head.
You wanted nothing more than to tell him in that moment how much you loved him, but decided against it. You knew the fighting was not over, the last thing you needed was for him to be distracted by you during battle and find himself impaled with some pointy object. If you both lived to the end of this, you would tell him then.
But then you were too scared to do it.
Of course you had won - the ring had been destroyed, Aragorn had led the crusade against the forces of Mordor, and Gondor was preparing to crown its long lost king. Everyone was staying in Minas Tirith until the coronation, but then everyone was leaving. All your friends would be heading home, but you did not have one of those here in Middle Earth.
Aragorn had already offered you a place in Gondor’s leadership, and thus a permanent residence with him, and the hobbits were more than happy to escort you back to the Shire with them, but you knew both of these options would separate you from the one person you wanted to be with.
All you wanted was to follow Éomer back to Edoras, but you were unsure if that would be best for him. He was about to be crowned king of Rohan, and probably had many ladies of Rohan’s nobility lined up to rule with him. It was selfish for you to think you had any right to his heart, especially when his duties and responsibilities were so much more important than an outspoken, title-less woman.
So you distanced yourself from him. You avoided him whenever possible, taking the longest routes you could to dinners and meetings. You tried not to be affected by his desperate gaze, or the way he called for you as you rushed out of a room. It hurt you more than anything, but you knew it would be better for him in the long run. You succeeded with your plan until the night before Aragorn’s coronation.
You’d been walking home from dinner (a huge, pre-celebration feast that qualified as a celebration itself) through an old, twisty corridor. You opened the door to your room only to see Eomer sitting on your bed, a worried look on his face.
You jumped slightly, startled by his presence.
“What are you doing in here?” you said breathlessly. “This is totally an invasion of my privacy and absolutely uncalled for at such a late hour, you almost gave me a heart attack-”
“Forgive me,” he interrupted, standing up from the bed, eyes fixated on you. You both stood there in silence for some time, the closest you’d been to each other for the first time in days.
“I missed you,” he murmured finally. “You’ve been avoiding me.”
You looked down at your feet and nodded. You did not want to see the look of betrayal that he was undoubtedly wearing.
“Why?” he whispered. You winced at the sound of hurt in his voice.
“You would not understand Éomer, but I promise it was in your best interest,” you replied.
“You are my best friend, (Y/n), how could ignoring me benefit me?” he asked incredulously. You looked up at him, trying to ignore the tears beginning to form in your eyes.
“Éomer-”
“Please,” he cut you off desperately, slowly walking towards you. “I have missed you more than you could possibly imagine.” “That is the issue,” you whispered, closing your eyes to avoid looking at him.
“How is that an issue?” he begged.
“Because you are about to be a king,” you shouted, eyes still closed. “And you will leave after tomorrow with everyone else, back to Edoras, where new responsibilities will be awaiting you and demanding your attention.”
“How does that have anything to do with you?” he asked, voice sounding a lot closer than before. You gulped, sensing him right in front of you.
“I would be a distraction,” you replied meekly. Éomer did not reply, but instead reached to grab your hands with his own, you gasping as he pulled you into his chest.
“(Y/n), you are not a distraction, how could you-”
“I do not want you to leave me here,” you interrupted, resting your forehead against him. “I am so scared I’ll never see you again, but your life is about to be so much more important than me.”
“I do not want to leave you here,” he said, wrapping his arms around your back. “I want you to come with me. You’re my best friend, how could I abandon you?”
“That’s exactly the problem,” you whispered, “even if I were physically with you, that would not stop me from...from…”
You stopped and bit your lip, terrified of the confession about to pour out of you. Éomer moved his hand below your chin, tilting your head up to face him.
“Stop you from what?” he whispered intensely, eyes searching your face desperately. You exhaled breathily.
“I love you, Éomer,” you said softly, watching as his expression softened. “So, so much.”
He blinked once, twice, registering what you had just said, and smiled, leaning down to rest his forehead against yours.
“I love you more than anyone, (Y/n),” he murmured.
“But, surely there are women back in Rohan who are far more suitable for-”
“(Y/n),” Éomer said seriously, pulling away to look you in the eyes once more. “I have the power to be with whomever I choose.”
“But why would you choose me?” you asked meekly. Éomer chuckled, brushing a stray bit of hair out of your face and tucking it behind your ear tenderly. You leaned into his hand slightly, relishing in the way he cupped your face.
“I was more nervous that you wouldn’t choose me,” he admitted. You look at him in confusion.
“How could I not choose you?” you asked.
“You’re much more interesting than I am,” he shrugged. “You come from a world that is so much more exciting than mine, and the last thing I want is for you to settle for me.”
“Éomer, you stab people with swords and ride horses all day. And live in a castle. That is insanely cool,” you grinned, wrapping your arms around his midsection. “Of course I choose you.”
“And I choose you,” he murmured, pulling you closer to him. “Please come home with me.”
“Yes,” you whispered, nodding fervently. “Yes, please.”
Éomer grinned, tilting your face up to his once more and leaning down to kiss you. Your heart leaped, hand reaching up to grab the back of his head to intensify the kiss. He moaned softly, bending down to pick you up and twirling you around. You giggled and pressed your nose against his.
“I’m thinking we make my coronation far less formal than Aragorn’s,” Éomer said, “as much as I’ve been loving these dinners, I don’t think I could stand hosting them.”
“You know I’m fantastic at informalities,” you replied.
