The Life Series thematically happens cycles upon cycles within itself. Each season is like a different part of a year like seasons ending on the very climatic Limited Life as its Summer.

[AUTUMN 3RD LIFE] While there aren't many interesting biomes in 3L that give it away, it's more about the progression of the Beginning as players are taken out of the comfort of their previous lives and all social constructs are thrown out the window and into the deep end. People make pretty bases, feel hesitant to steal, and build monopolies in a world that virtually does not have a currency - all because these are things the Hermits and Empires alike have been doing prior to the Life Series. It's Autumn because it's a learning experience, a transition period as the players grow more accustomed to these new customs in preparation for the extreme.

[WINTER LAST LIFE] HONESTLY the one I'm glad we all agree on, that server is SO #wintercore with so many horror elements. Deeeep alpine forests, winding rivers, tall snowy mountains it got all of them! The perfect winter sequel to 3rd Life and the one where the players (after being a part of 3L) are put the most on edge with the levels of betrayal and distrust the season had going on with the Bogeyman mechanic. People straight up start HUNTING each other for sport it's an example of the most dire of situations and I LOVE IT!

[SPRING DOUBLE LIFE] Much kinder than Last Life congratulations you have made it through the winter. Double Life is a season centred on relationships, about all the different types of love between players - if you live in the Northern Hemisphere spring happens during valentines. New bonds like in Spring are made here and old ones resurface and/or are broken in history of the previous seasons. Double Life is kind of like 3rd Life in the sense that people's relationships, and how they go about them are in influence to things that have happened in the past (previous seasons).

[SUMMER LIMITED LIFE] The final season of the First Cycle. The server has a WARM OCEAN biome. I really do wish mojang developed their beaches or the tropics better Limited Life would have been perfect with palm trees. I built a bit on the Limited Life world HERE and HERE It's about teamwork, fun and games - the tone Limited Life has in comparison to Last Life is its polar opposite in the way people trust in each other so much. Even the whole meaning of what it means to be Bogeyman here is flipped on its head it's treated as a gift. It comes perfectly after Double Life as the soulmates made in there (eg Boatboys, Ranchers, etc) continue from here. If anything it reminds me of the summer break before everyone gets back to work (Secret Life).

Side note: Secret Life Bit of a weird one honestly. It to me is the strangest out of the 5 like yeah it COULD be spring aesthetically because of the cherry trees, but it could also be autumn (thus the new cycle), the way it is handled so far is reminiscent of how things were in 3rd Life with everyone being so careful of their lives. Waiting for more sessions to come out to build more on this :]

maybe im not fit for rougelike games but like... idk. i feel like me and the fandom as a whole expected so much more from side order. i feel like if the game is gonna make you replay the same stuff over and over again it should atleast have a SOUL CRUSHING LITERARY MASTERPIECE TYPE OF LORE like OE and Alterna

when four is left out from the squidbeak splatoon they try to prove themselves by siding with marina with her project. it makes perfect sense. marina and four are both scared of being seperated by their loved ones. but four gets consumed by their anger and jealousy and goes full order mode LIKE DO YOU GUYS SEE MY VISION!!!! i will be forever mad that we didnt get this.

also why is murch out of all the chracters have a pallete??? why didnt they put in captain 3 or something????? sheldon i kinda understand since hes also kinda a part of the squidbeak splatoon BUT MURCH??? get the fuck out!!!

negative stuff aside tho. i love pearl and marina so much. THIS IS THE PEARLINA GAME GUYS!!!!! pearl literally mentions that marina and her sleep in the SAME BED???? marina is so autistic. my little autism creature. HELLO. so yes i somehow managed to win the game. and honestly. the final boss was pretty fun and everyone was so cute at the end omg... but i still think that side order is a bit underdevloped.... i dont even know if ill try to %100 is cuz playing it makes me SO STRESSFUL im glad i get to finish a run BUT i will definetly not be touching side order atleast for a while.... but despite i had plenty of stuff i didnt like in side order the ending managed to make me forget all that haha

Of course Jerome just loves corrupting sweet things that his mother thinks are just absolutely perfect and can do no wrong.

I shall ramble more about one in particular under the cut🙃

(fair warning for incest and horny if it's not already obvious lol)

Give them like three or four years difference. Growing up, Jeremiah is the perfect son while Jerome is outcast and abused- except by his brother. Jeremiah (starting at only two years old) always hung on him, followed him around like a shadow even when Jerome snapped and hurt him. He'd cry, Jerome would get punished, and then Jeremiah was clinging onto him again with pitiful little apologies.

Eventually, Jerome gets used to it and secretly starts to like it. He does sometimes convince Jeremiah to cause trouble to watch him get punished. It backfired a lot.

Jeremiah, by five-years-old, when Jerome is forced to care for him 24/7, has taken on the task of protecting his big brother from the abuse. Whenever Jerome wants to do something he knows they shouldn't, he begs and begs him not to- if it doesn't work, he dives in right beside him. Still, he's hardly ever punished. The blame is always on Jerome. He's the older of the two and should know better. And he's always the one up to no good anyway, dragging his brother down with him. Jeremiah really ought to get away from him before he becomes just like Jerome.

The comments he overhears only make him cling to his brother more. He doesn't think Jerome is bad or stupid or anything the others say. When he got mean it was only to protect him, well...most of the time.

Jeremiah's ten when he finds out you're not supposed to kiss your brother on the mouth. But he likes to see Jerome smile afterwards, so he'll keep their secret.

Jeremiah's twelve when they move out of Haley's Circus and into Gotham. Uncle Zach finally scraped enough together to buy his own diner. And a smart boy like Jeremiah should really be in school where he can expand his knowledge and have a real chance at life (a real chance of making them money).

Jerome hates their apartment, hates being stuck in one place, hates that Jeremiah's at school or studying all the time now. One night, after Jeremiah's fallen asleep curled up against him, Jerome kisses his forehead and leaves without a word.

Jeremiah gets a postcard now and then, a gift on his birthday and Christmas, and nothing else. No letters or explanations or phone calls. Abandoned and alone, all he can do is listen to his mother's thanks for Jerome's absence and throw himself into his studies.

A few days before Christmas, seventeen now, Jeremiah receives another postcard. It's from Gotham. He goes to school, fidgety and in another world as he wonders if Jerome will visit him. Maybe he'd just run into him on the street, if he ever actually went anywhere other than school, the library once in a blue moon, and home.

Now either Jerome comes to pick him up from school or Jerome's waiting at home for him- either way, Jeremiah isn't sure if he wants to hug or slap him. Why not both tho honestly. He doesn't cling the way he did as a child- meaning literally hanging onto him- but he stays in his presence. And tries not to ogle him too much. Can't really help it tho and could you blame him? Jerome lounging back on the couch in a leather jacket with his T-shirt riding up, a cigarette in his mouth and those eyes almost always on Jeremiah like a predator watching its prey and he keeps touching him with his rough hands that could mark and bruise and hold him down and now he's twirling a knife around his fingers like he thinks he's some badass and he is really he's a dangerous predator and Jeremiah can't get enough

Jerome claims his top bunk again (that Jeremiah slept in until Jerome's scent faded and he hadn't touched it since). Jeremiah can't sleep, he just stares at the bunk above him wondering if Jerome was thinking of him too. How often had he thought of Jeremiah while he was gone? Was he even sorry he left without a goodbye? Did he even care that he broke Jeremiah's heart? Did he miss all their secret moments that Jeremiah hadn't been able to forget no matter how hard he tried because it fucking hurt so much why did Jerome leave why did he abandon him why didn't he take Jeremiah with him

Actually I think now would be a better time for Jerome to pick him up from school. Jerome's passed out when he leaves for school and he has a bit of a rough day, but then Jerome comes to get him and all the questions he's been stewing over just come spilling out until he's crying in Jerome's truck after beating on his shoulder for a few minutes.

But of course Jerome missed him. He loved him so much and it hurt to leave, but he couldn't stay. He could barely support himself, how could he have supported Jeremiah too? He just needed to get on his own two feet and then come back to him. And how could he say goodbye to the only one he's ever loved? But of course he missed him, of course he loved him. Jeremiah's his little brother- he'd burn the whole world down for him.

And finally they have sappy, sniffly kisses that escalate into making out that escalates to grinding and marking and stripping-

Now they just have to hide all this from Lila and Uncle Zach during the break

(how that all would end, no idea, I just want them to sneak around having sex while Lila thinks Jeremiah is the pinnacle of purity but really he's a fallen angel corrupted by the lure of the devil)

I've been into the ARG/Unfiction genre since like. 2015. And literally I've understood the hype around almost every unfiction project to some degree, EXCEPT for Mandela catalogue. Like. I've never understood the hype. Maybe it's just because I found it to feel very formulaic but like. Some of the faces used for this that are meant to be slightly unsettling are just,, not perfectly proportional and are badly lit?? Like literally that's it. Like there are real people who look like that. Fix the lighting and it's just gonna look like your neighbor of something. It's not very scary

But also like, for real? On your points abt how the series itself gives off A Lot if proto-fascistic messaging,

when I first watched it I was like "oh! That's the point! This is abt how fascist governments use media like TV to influence and misinform the public in service to facism and paranoia. Like these doppelgangers aren't actually real! They're just made up boogiemen to incentivize the public to turn on their neighbors/to attack people who are disfigured or disabled" and I thought that I finally was maybe getting why people found it interesting and that I had judged it too harshly

And then it wasn't that and instead was like "yeah no. There IS a secret boogeyman group who aren't (side eye to that) who are gonna steal your children via television (even Bigger side eye), and nearly off of them are just like, slightly photoshopped pictures of Real People but now they're just disfigured/disabled/literally just slightly non proportional features

This series could be very cool, but its just a thematic mess and is (intentionally or not) communicating a lot of facistic/eugenic sentiments

whenever me & my friend talk about it we somehow manage to keep tripping into different kinds of bigotry!! we'll be talking about ableism and how Adam's arc is very similar to many changeling tropes, which were (and to some extent still are, see: Star Children/Indigo Children) often used to abuse neurodivergent or mentally ill/disabled children. and we'll realize that Adam arc ALSO mirrors the Tragic Mulatto storyline too and it's like wow!! Two in one! you've done it so bad!!

a lot of the issues with it are small little things that could be excused as a coincidence- EXCEPT THERE'S SO MANY LITTLE THINGS THAT IT BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE.

it's like- ok imagine this: you're having an interaction with someone and they do a microaggression at you, right? not outwardly bigoted, just kind of ignorant. and you're like, ok. fine. nobody is perfect, they probably didn't mean any harm. it's not worth kicking up a fuss about.

omg the fact that you don't hate Dumbledore with every fiber of your being is a breath of fresh air.

I see so many people bashing on him and acting like he is the worst character when voldemort and snape are literally right there. Yeah, he wasn't perfect, but like, he isn't responsible for every bad thing to have happened in the wizarding world, and to say that he is isn't accurate in the slightest.

I saw a short on youtube that showed all the characters in Harry Potter who had ever died, and said Dumbledore was the reason they all died, which is like.... again, not accurate.

People talk about how "he raised all of these characters to die" as if he saw James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Snape, Lily, Tonks, and everyone else in the mauraders fandom at age 12 and was like, "Yeah I'm totally going to raise these guys up only to make them join my secret society so I can have them all die!!:)" He never forced any of them into doing anything. Arguably, the only one he knew would die was Harry, and it wasn't like he was jumping for joy at that prospect. There are dozens of moments and actions he took to prevent the inevitable for as long as possible. There's literally an entire chapter in OOTP when he talks about his desire to do just that. And in HBP, he and Harry have an entire conversation about the fact that Harry would want to kill Voldemort regardless of whether he knew the prophecy or not.

I feel like people just want to blame Dumbledore for everything, which drives me insane because it erases the blame and mistakes of the people actually responsible for major events.

I know this was long, I'm sorry, haha. I just am so tired of seeing so much Dumbledore hate. Again, he isn't a perfect character in the slightest. But to claim that he's the worst character in the series is just plain stupid.

I'm really happy to find people who see what a big pile of bs Dumbledore bashing is...they can't even find a decent argument, too busy playing the blame game....what they don't realize is that blaming everything on Dumbledore undermines or downright denies the great sacrifices these people made and it was their decision to risk their lives for the good fight...but no, they were just Dumbledore's pawns and brainwashed to fight for him...I think they have the names mixed up, because it all sounds like Voldemort and his Death Eaters to me...And what exactly was Dumbledore trying to gain, he literally died..and not by accident...he carefully planed his death to get the most out of it in their favour, so he wasn't after the power and control...if he was, he could have had that before Voldemort wasn't even in the picture

Got back into Undertale (I blame Tiktok compilations on YT) Made my own versions for these 4 since they are my favs They are all pretty chill now that they left the underground 

We got: Blue, Cyan, Red and Bigs

Blue is the classic Sans we all know. He keeps secrets, has a lot on his mind but never lets it show. He’s a pretty neat person to be around.

Cyan is like Papyrus but also not. He is still himself after all. Yes he is exciteable and as enthusiastic as heck but he also knows a lot of stuff, more than most would think he knows (just like Pap I guess)

Red... is chill. Not perfect, no, by far not. He needed a LOT of time to become this chill. His AU was pretty rough after all, always having to be allert, having to fight for your life, literally. You’d be on edge too if you lived through that. So he’s had a rough start at first but luckily there was someone who shared in a similarly bad experience that could bond with him.

Bigs! His AU is pretty messed up let’s be honest. Once the Food thing happened the magic everyone used slowly corroded, corrupting all mosters and making them more monstrous. Lots of peeps fear Bigs when they meet him for the first time, for good reason, tho he has mellowed out a LOT, with the help of Red. Both went through hell for a while and share in the pain to lessen it.

Headcannons: -Red and Bigs trauma dump on each other pretty often, tho they never know they are doing that, they just think they are having a conversation Sometimes these conversations end in tears but they always feel better after so they aren’t likely to stop any time soon. -Red cooks. He taught himself and while he hid that while they were still underground (because doing stuff like that would have made others think he’s homely and that means weak) he now cooks for the others every now and again. -Bigs devours anything you give him but he will slow down and actually enjoy the food if the other Paps or Sanses made the food (especially Red) -Cyan and TalePap have Puzzle sessions that can go on for hours and they both love cooking together  -Blue was confused about the others at first but now he enjoys their company a lot and will actively go out of his way to spend time with them and their Paps -Cyan and Blue think that Red and Bigs deserve the world after what they went through and will help them with almost anything if it might help them recover

Lastly, the doodle showcases them on their afternoon nap Yes Bigs likes having Red flung over himself like that, makes ‘em both feel safe

I think one of the best meet cutes I've read in a historical ever is in Dreaming of You. Derek is very literally get his face slashed by a group of attackers paid by his ex lover (to ruin his looks of course) and Sara just walks up and shoots the guy attacking him in the throat and kills him. And as soon as she realizes who Derek is, as she's supporting him on the walk to the club, she's like "OH HELLO MR. CRAVEN MAY I SHADOW YOU FOR MY BOOK???" And he's like "... Jesus Christ".

Secrets of a Summer Night has a good one too, with Simon Hunt immediately getting under Annabelle's skin with that stolen kiss. Which Lisa has cut from recent editions, ugh. Lillian and Westcliff sorta have their meet cute in this one too. I believe they know each other beforehand, but him walking in on her playing rounders in her underwear and deciding to hate her Because Lust is so pivotal.

Something Spectacular by Alexis Hall has an amazing one for Peggy and Orfeo. Peggy is planning on trying to help her friend/ex get Orfeo's attention, and when she goes with said friend to an opera performance, Orfeo notices Peggy instead and zeroes in on her. And Peggy's friend had just said she'd heard Orfeo's singing voice made people come, and Peggy literally fainted when Orfeo sang because their voice was so beautiful. So when they're like "Hey I noticed you fainted" Peggy goes "I DIDN'T COME THO". It's definitely not a hate moment, but it's just such a good meet cute and I love this book so much.

Laura Kinsale writes really good meet cutes. in For My Lady's Heart, the hero and heroine meet when he's dropping his wife off at a convent (it's a lot) and the heroine, a married princess, sees him, accuses him of looking at her lustfully (he was) and then saves his ass and earns his blind devotion. Shadowheart features a heroine who gets ensnared by a seductive pirate guy and then he goes "LMAO FORCED MARRIAGE TIME". Flowers from the Storm has a Quaker heroine who meets a rake hero who does this whole seductive thing where he's like "let me describe your sexy face to your blind father". It's great.

Gotta love Lisa Valdez's Passion, where the hero and heroine meet and immediately have sex behind a screen at like, a world's fair.

Hotel of Secrets by Anna Biller has a great meet cute where the hero saves the heroine from getting hit by a carriage, and then they immediately annoy each other.

The Duke Gets Even is so so so good on this meet cute/hate thing. Nellie and Lockwood meet when he's swimming (for his health) in the ocean and she's swimming (naked) also in the ocean. He thinks she's a sexy mermaid, she flirts, they make out, she grabs his hair and realizes he's into giving and receiving pain, he tries to get her to have sex with him, she's like "meet me tomorrow night" and then the day after it's revealed that he's about to propose to hER BEST FRIEND. And then they loathe each other. The Bride Goes Rogue has this hate at first meeting thing too--the hero and heroine have been betrothed for years but never interact until she asks him when they're actually going to get married and he says NEVER ACTUALLY.

A Caribbean Heiress in Paris by Adriana Herrera has this. The heroine is a rum heiress who goes to sell her wares in Paris, and the hero is a Scottish whiskey guy. It's immediately like "competitive sparks" vibes, which turns into sexual tension, which turns into an orgasm on the Eiffel Tower.

The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes by Cat Sebastian--the hero and heroine actually meet over letter when he's trying to blackmail her. And then he falls in love with her over the verbal sparring, while she thinks he ain't shit. SO GOOD.

After Dark with the Duke by Julie Anne Long has a great setup where the stiff, war hero guy meets the scandalous much younger opera singer girl and looks down on her, leading to mutual enmity (and tension).

The Viscount and the Vixen by Lorraine Heath, where the hero marries the scammer heroine right after meeting her to save his dad from being scammed (it's a thing) so now they're legally bound and he hates her.

Thief of Shadows by Elizabeth Hoyt, where Isabel saves Winter while he's in a full vigilante outfit and is bleeding from a stab wound and he still manages to get visibly turned on by her wound care lmao.

The favourite Arcobaleno headcanon I have ever made is HCing Reborn as literally any nationality that is not Italian. I do not care for where, but I imagine this man wants to pretend to be the epitome of Italian Mafioso- born and raised praise the sweet motherland. But he has literally not stepped foot in the country before he was an adult, and it is his most deeply embarassing, closely guarded secret. He is very smart, well-researched and skilled with acting; he is literally the world's best, so he would be able to keep up a ruse. But I always imagine that Luce will know the moment they meet, and he could not face her for it for a while. (As a bonus, he grabbed/gaslit Colonnello-the-childhood-bff to futher his story lol).

It is immensely funny to me, and also canon does not strictly contest it as we do not know any acro's backgorund extensively.

but THEN reborn’s all dodgy about it so of course he actually becomes curious about it, and they end up in this cat and mouse dynamic where reborn unfortunately can’t kill him to make him stop until they’re done working together at the very least. and his only reprieve is that the other arco don’t give a shit about it (and luce keeps quiet about it) even if skull wastes no time sharing his suspicions with them, and just, you know, don’t believe him, and i’m thinking of viper specifically here who’d go “i’ve literally found with extreme difficulty multiple documents proving he is italian and was born in italy and lived his whole life in italy”, and they’re all forged of course, but they don’t know that.

and then reborn eventually DIES, and they want to be considerate and nice and bury him in his hometown or whatever, but then reborn’s “will” which he made sure they’d find just goes something like “i’ve literally never been italian a day in my life you fucking losers, here’s where i want to be buried instead, get it right”, and the arco just go “?????????” while skull goes “i KNEW it!!!!”, but also goes “???????” because THIS is what that was about??? wtf?????

Heyo so I say your severen birthday post and it got me thinking. So I went to Disney world for my birthday and I was thinking what if severen takes his mate and the gang to Disney 😭(at night of course) I can see Jess and sev eating a turkey leg and Caleb and Mae taking a romantic walk and diamond dragging homer to get photos 😭

I srsly love this I definitely don't watch Near Dark and think Disneyworld but it's so perfect bc they've lived so long you can't tell me they haven't been to an amusement park including disneyworld with how huge it is.

I bet ur b day was fun!!! I went to that place ONE time at 8 years old and it quite literally rained on my parade and some of the rides 🥲 It was thundering and cloudy during the wait for the haunted mansion which was my favorite so that was a neat memory tho. So if I'm rusty, srry I have vague memories there 😭

Severen Taking his S/O to Disneyworld

- For one, they definitely did not have money to go in, not even 80's money. They probably couldn't steal enough or didn't care to so they snuck in somehow (Severen is old af and probably knows a secret entrance from when it was first built.)

- Severen found a micky mouse hat with ears and wore it just to be goofy

- Speaking of goofy...Severen and Jesse scare the actors in costume there. Severen definitely took a picture with you but whispered some terrifying shit in Goofy's ear just to watch him try to run in those shoes (He laughed his ass off too.)

- You are so right!! Severen and Jesse are eating the most basic, filling foods. He may sample your dole whip or funnel cake but he rarely eats this type of human food and he's making it worth it by eating a huge turkey leg.

- You all definitely cut in line...Do you think SEVEREN is going to stand for an hour or more for rides??? He is finding a way in probably from killing and drinking a staff member and getting their key cards to use backdoors.

- Jesse and DB venture off to Epcot just to leisurely stroll around sample different foods and listen to music and dance together...They still get odd looks and creep everyone out. A child definitely cried when Jesse stared them down for staring at him first.

- Caleb and Mae are hand in hand in line to go on the haunted mansion (It's just so they can makeout in the cars after Mae gets 'scared'. They rarely get alone time in the group.)

- Homer goes off adventuring by himself (He just doesn't want anyone see him actually enjoy peter pans flight like a kid.)

- You and Sev go on an adventure. He is high energy, playful, adventurous and eager to do things so expect for him to ask you where to go but if you say 'it's up to you'...He is dragging you everywhere 🤣

- Severen's favorite rides are actual Rollercoasters that have his adrenaline pumping (Imagine if he's never been on one? He'd love it!) the crazier the better and that nut job is laughing his ass off while your screaming...This man would love Tower of Terror or Rock n Rollercoaster or even more 'tame' rides like ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter if he got to see it before it closed

- He does enjoy more lowkey rides though like a ferris wheel or haunted mansion if it involves you cuddle up to him but please do not take him on its a small world he will complain the entire time and if he's got that damn song stuck in his head; he's blaming you ☠️

- Homer loves it bc even tho he wants to be perceived as an adult; this is the one place he goes and being a kid actually gets him better treatment than everyone else in the group.

- Mae loves talking to the princesses and Caleb loves the rides he rode as a kid before Sarah was even born like Space Mountain or Pirates of the Caribbean

- DB loves the family time you all rarely get often going your seperate ways to feed everynight

- You all meet back up at least an hour before it closes to spend that 'family time' together.

- Severen or Jesse or both know the most unsettling deaths and secrets about the place and Severen points out "Oh some girl was crushed between those two walls" too casually. Severen acted like he was going to jump in the water on Jungle Cruise claiming there's actual alligators and when you told him "Nuh uh" he was going to prove it. You just about yanked him off his feet to sit back down

- Everyone argues over what the last 'family' attraction should be

- If it involves shooting and competition tho? Every single one of them from Jesse to Caleb is having a blast

- You probably convince them to go on splash mountain just for the picture at the end. Sadly someone had to sit out (Jesse or DB for sure) So in order: Jesse or DB in the back, Homer, You, Guess Who, Mae, Caleb 😭

- You are so right DB is dragging Homer to take photos like the Mom she is 🥰

- You all stay to watch some fireworks but sneak back out halfway through before everyone else starts leaving

- The night is young and you all go get ACTUAL nourishment with blood but it's a fun time and you all have souvenirs from pics to merchandise

OKAY IM ACTUALLY GONNA POST MY OPINIONS ON THE NEW ONE PIECE

TLDR: VERY VERY VERY GOOD JUST FEW DISLIKES

SO first I'm gonna talk about what I didn't like so I can end with the good stuff, cause I do think it was really good! And I actually do hope for more! Also these are subject to change as I just watched all the eps and once with friends and we excitedly talked over quite a bit of it plus it was a bit of a blur

OKAY first problem I had was there didn't feel like there was a really good stand up moment for us usopp in syrup village arc, in the original he had that moment where he was getting torn to shreds literally brought to the brink of death, and he still kept standing up to defend Kaya and the village, and it didn't feel like he got that moment at all really, which was both strange and sad to me, plus with no Jango he didn't get to save the day at all (also mini add on, I agree with moon paws post, with merry dead it felt really weird to just leave Kaya on her own, especially since we didn't meet anyone else in the village like the kids)

The next thing is, well, while I actually liked a lot of the changes they made from the source material (especially in syrup village, despite my major complaint with it) a LOT of the changes made to Arlong Park I really didn't like. The village not knowing her secret, showing her fight with belimeir before literally any other part of their relationship, some of the Fishman stuff, and a few others I can't think of rn, idk I feel like this arc hurt the most from not getting enough time yknow? Like I really didn't feel the emotional impact I felt from originally reading and watching this arc (aqlso another mini add on is no hatchi which was surprising)

One neutral thing before we get into the good is tho there was a lot of fun and silliness, at times this felt like a gritty reboot with the gore and killing and cutting of comic relief characters, part of that I liked and part I didn't, and I know it comes from not having enough time and not having as much suspension of disbelief to play with with it being live action

OKAY NOW TO GUSH ABOUT THE GOOD!!! First is the AMAZING fucking sets and costumes and casting!!! All of the places felt unique and true to their source, the world felt amazing and colorful, with the only thing I can compare it to being speed racer live action movie (tho it wasn't quite that colorful), the costumes were all so fun to see the characters in, and all the actors did so well! I think just about every character we all had a moment where we went "wow [insert characters actor here] is SOO good!" All their interactions were so perfect too! Ugh! Amazing!

And this is rare but most of the changes to the source material I actually really enjoyed! All the added stuff with garp and koby and helmepo was really really good character work, and good showing of the navy system and values and the worldview of the individuals within it. The changes to sanjis character I actually really liked, where he's a bit warmer, and not a sex pest but just more a sap I thought was done really well, along with all the zoro sanji interaction. I thought a lot of the syrup village changes were really well done, as much as I like Jango the cat brothers actually worked really well, and I ADORED the interactions with the crew and Kaya and I fucking ate up the scene where they're getting chased around by Kuro. I'm sad the kreig pirates got phased out but I did enjoy their fight with Hawkeye a lot, and I understand why they did what they did. All the changes to the characters also felt natural and they still felt like themselves yknow? OH ALSO all the buggy stuff was so good!!! Having his head along was so perfect and fun! It was just amazing, amazing show everyone involved should be proud!!
