From: Rea Vorte <[email protected]>  To: Untitled Mail Group (DO NOT USE) Date: XX/XX/2022 Subject: Flashing images?  So, since VM1 has absolutely crashed, and since we can’t figure out exactly what we’re going to do to fix it, I figured this might be a good time to bring something up. 

About a week or so before VM1 virus locked Paula’s computer, whenever I was gathering data sometimes the VM would flicker? I don’t really know how to describe it honestly. One second, it’d be running through like normal, and if you blinked you’d miss it. Sometimes it’d just flash with a black screen. 

The best way I could describe it is like sometimes when you open the save bar after Entity AF191[...] is deleted, and sometimes there’s that flash of Entity A5814 [...] that lasts for less than 2 seconds. If you saw it, you couldn’t understand what you saw, and if you blinked or looked away, you’d have no idea it was even there.

Originally, I just thought it was MES’ computers acting up, we all know how old these computers are. I didn’t think to report anything (sorry Paula...) since I figured the screens were finally on their downfall and were just struggling to handle VM1. It didn’t help that all I could see was a black screen, no random image, no nothing. 

Well, the day before the lock happened, the flickers were getting really bad, and it was getting pretty annoying. At that point I considered the possibility that it wasn’t the computers failing, and rather, some kind of message from VM1, so I did the best I could and managed to access some old screen recording software from the computers, and recorded and waited. This is what I was able to find. (Image attached at bottom of email.) I swear to god I can see something in the image. It looks like a smudge, but I swear I see something, and I need to make sure I’m not going crazy. Every time I try to manipulate the image, nothing about it changes. It’s odd. If anyone finds some sort of image, or some weird message in it, let me know ASAP. This is starting to keep me up at night.
