Hi! I have a question. ACAB, obviously, but what about security companies? I have security lurking around my apartment complex, and I haven't seen or heard them do anything wrong, but I don't know if they fall under the c for ACAB, or if they're essentially mercenaries, or another third thing that might be acceptable. This goes for not just my apartment security, but concerts, festivals, Pride, etc. What are your thoughts?

I mean there are key power differences, at least in the U.S., between police officers and security guards. Security guards are paid less, have far fewer legal protections, often aren't allowed to carry guns, and are very often not unionized, etc. These are important things to keep in mind.

But in general, yes, ACAB includes security guards. They are the ones who will call the cops on you, they are not to be trusted, they are another group of people explicitly hired to protect the assets and interests of the ruling class, and they often have a cop mentality. I wouldn't call them mercenaries, as that's a whole other third thing, but they suck. And the companies themselves especially suck.
