Note
okay so i'm thinking post!prison reid and reader break up bc he's not ready to be in a relationship after everything that happened in prison. they just don't get back together bc when spence is finally ready it's been a while and they both think it's too late and no one makes a move and they remain as friends UNTIL jj's love confession brings some feelings back onto the surface - reader finds out about it and (cue jeid and their weird, longing glances🥲) has a whole it's all really over moment and then there's distance between her and spencer until there's a confrontation about it and BAM a love confession and second chances😁😁
THIS IS SUCH A MESS but i hope you get my point</33
Um yeah so, absolutely. Some angst for you indeed. I love a convoluted and angsty fight, especially whenever someone is arguing in circles with someone else because they're both just so passionate but angry, anyways, heheh, enjoy!!
WC: 1.5k
TW: Arguing, mentions of violence, mentions of prison, mentions of guns, honestly if you watched CM then that is your TW.
“I just want to know why you’ve been so distant lately. I mean, this is the first time I’m speaking with you one on one in over a week, and it’s because I manage to catch you in the office at nine fucking pm Y/n.”
"So what do you want me to say, Spence? What could I possibly have to say to you? I'm pretty sure Jennifer said everything there is to say."
This caused Spencer to lose all of the oxygen in his body. It froze up. You weren’t supposed to know what JJ had said, no one was supposed to know what JJ had said.
You and Spencer were in the bullpen of the BAU. Luckily for both of you, since it was so late, no one else was there. Neither of you were extremely public when it came to your relationship, which meant neither of you would have chosen to have this conversation fight in a public place, but no one else was around.
I want you to say something you're afraid to say. Something you'd never tell anybody. And you better make it good. Cause if it's not, it's going to be the last thing you ever say. What's it gonna be?
“How did you know about that?” He whispered.
“JJ asked Garcia to go through the footage, apparently she wanted to make sure no one could ever access the audio from it.”
"Y/n I--" Spencer closed his eyes, his jaw set. He didn’t even know what to say at this point. You had both clearly made up your minds about this, yet neither of you wanted to see the carnage, the outcome of it all. So, instead, you chose to stand in the middle of the bullpen, fighting against one another.
Fighting for one another.
"I just don't understand why you're so upset about this."
“Spencer–you didn’t even tell me about it, I had to find out about it from Penelope, and who knows who else she told. You were afraid to tell me, yet that giant genius brain of yours can’t, oh I don't know, comprehend just a teeny tiny little bit why this makes me upset?" For the millionth time this evening, you scoffed.
Something you would never say aloud, not even to your partner. Your deepest, darkest secret. Impress me, or I'll kill him.
"Y/n--"
Spence, I've always loved you. I was just too scared to say it before, and now things are really just too complicated to say it now. I'm sorry, but you should know.
"Fuck Spencer I have been in love with you since I first fucking joined this team." You gasped out. The air around your head got thinner and felt dizzying like you were floating through the air now that this was off your chest. "And I loved you when you asked me on a date. I loved you through Emily's death. I loved you when you asked me to move in with you. I loved you through when Morgan left the team. I loved you through Hotch leaving. I loved you through fucking Cat Adams. I loved you even after I came home one night and you were making out with her against our fucking door. I loved you through every single case and every single flaw. I loved you when you fucking relapsed a few years ago. I even loved you when you went MIA for weeks and then found out you were in a fucking Prison. And I still fucking love you now. But, instead of being together, you asked for a break."
"That's not fair..." He whispered.
"What? Respecting you and your boundaries? Knowing that you needed time to readjust after you had been released, and believing in your promise that once you felt ready to try a relationship again you'd come to me and talk to me about it? And then watching as you fall for JJ all fucking over again? With your stupid fucking glances. This isn't a goddamn tv show Reid, I can see when you both stare at one another across the room, I can see it."
"We don't.."
"You do. You both do. And then, you tell me that Jennifer fucking Jareau is willing to make her last words the fact that she has always loved you and has always been in love with you, and you---" Your voice froze, the sound cutting out. You looked straight at Spencer, not caring about the tears running down your cheeks. You watched as his hand twitched up. When the two of you were dating, Spencer used to wipe away every single of your tears. But now he wouldn't even lift his hand.
"I--what."
You took another breath, trying to calm down, and really think through your words. "This woman who has been your best friend for over a decade just fucking confessed her love for you, in a life-or-death situation, and you're telling me, that she just fucking made it up, pulled it out of her ass, or at least is telling you that she did and now the two of you are going to act like everything is normal and okay?"
"Y/n..."
"You were in love with her for years Spencer. And now, all of a sudden she confesses her love to you, and that changes nothing?"
"No, Y/n, it doesn't. It changes nothing. Does it hurt a bit? Yes. Does it change the fact that I love you? No." Spencer was trying to keep his voice level, hoping you'll continue to match his volume since he didn't want anyone to potentially stumble by and hear your argument. His hand reached for your wrist, but you couldn't bear to feel his skin against yours.
This caused you to let out a water laugh, tears sliding into your mouth, ugly but pouring down your cheeks. A waterfall of grief in all of its rawest forms.
"You still love me."
"Why-Why is that funny."
"I have been waiting to hear those words since you walked out of that fucking prison and the first time I hear it in years, it's because you're trying to justify loving someone else."
"That's not true."
Make it a million and one, you scoffed.
"I have loved you since the moment you first walked through those doors. You were in a pale blue pair of pants, and a black sweater--I remember it because Emily complimented the pants. I spend my whole life loving you and manage to never fully give you every single piece of love I have because there's simply not enough time in the world. I would kill for you. I would go to prison all over again if it meant you would be okay in this world." Spencer ran a hand through his hair, his voice strained. But his eyes never left yours. "Last week, when that unsub had his gun against your head, I fired before he even spoke, not because I assessed it was the right time or whatever fucking excuse I gave to Emily. I fired that bullet because if you died in front of me, I'd......The only thing I was thinking about the entire fucking time JJ and I were stuck in that room was how the fuck I was going to be able to tell you I love you one last time because I wasn't fucking smart enough to take my chance and say it to you every single day."
Your chest was heaving, but you didn't move towards him. It didn't feel right, it didn't feel real.
Spencer was able to take your hand in his, enclosing it between both of his, trying to get you to look at him. "I should have told you the moment I was ready to try a relationship again, but I thought you...I thought you had moved on because I wasn't worth waiting for."
This caused you to laugh again, eyes red from crying. "Don't fucking start with that shit Spencer.''
"I'm telling the god's honest truth."
"I waited for you throughout all of Prison. I waited for you through Maeve. I am still pathetically standing right fucking in front of you, waiting for you to hopefully realize that you still love me."
He kissed your hand. "And I don't deserve you at all for it."
"Do you still love her?"
"Y/n."
"Answer the question, Spencer. Or I'm done. I-I can't do this any longer, watching you....the way she looks at you just--"
Spencer pulled you into his arms, enclosing your body in his arms and kissing the side of your head. "I have always, and will always, love you Y/n Y/l/n. And I want to spend the rest of our lives proving to you that I would choose you, I want you, over and over again."
“That’s not an answer Spencer.” You whispered, rigid in his arms.
“I-I.” He closed his eyes. “I did. And I still do love her, but not like that. I haven’t been i-in love with her since the moment you walked through those doors.”
Spencer felt the weight of your head against his shoulder as you finally conceded and hugged him back, tightly. “Let's go home.” He muttered into your head, waiting patiently for you to hum in agreement.
Neither of you moved though. You both stood there, locked eternally in the other’s embrace, enjoying the peace you felt for the moment, even though tomorrow was a new day, where you would have to sort through how you really felt about all of this.
But tonight, you stood with your arms around your love, forever.

So, I was having breakfast, and an idea popped into my head... HEAR ME OUT.
You are a spy. You work in an agency of spies and secret agents who sell the information they get. And it turns out that TF141 needed information for a mission, so Price sent Gaz and Soap after you guys.
And it also happens that the person with the information they need is you.
Gaz and Soap arrive at your secret base (which is underneath a clothing store... who would suspect? lol) and go to where you are. They ask for the information, but it turns out that as it was difficult information to obtain (you spent months undercover) and it is also very valuable information, so is very expensive. They are astonished by the price, and try to bargain with you, wanting to reduce the price even just a little.
But seeing these two cute soldiers in front of him begging for a discount made an idea pop into your mind. Half-price. They just have to pay half the price and do... another little thing.
Which is what they are doing now. You, pounding like there's no tomorrow into Gaz poor hole, who moans and cries with the pleasure you're giving, and Soap, lying next to you, with his ass in the air and with cum oozing out from his hole, passed out after you have used it first.
(i'm feeling silly:333)

GOD DAMN 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 RAHHHHHHHHH
:3 nsfw under the cut :3 small little drabble thing :3
Minors, fem aligned, no pronouns in bio, and ageless accounts. Please leave me alone, don’t interact with this post. I don’t want to see you in the notes, bc I will have to block!!
This information wasn't easy to get, months and months of playing a role. Almost losing yourself in the process, but ultimately, you are victorious and get your hands on the most valubale information in the world to date. The price of this information is practically impossible for even the richest of the richest to get their hands on it.
But then two soldiers arrive at your little clothing shop, walking in like they own the place. Confident, but oh so pretty soldiers, coming to you for that valuable piece of info.
When you tell them the price... Their skin pales as their eyes widen, lips parting slightly in shock as they process just how much they would need to pay you.
Surprisingly, it's the one with the brown eyes that pipes up.
"Surely there's a bargain we could make here? Anything that can halve the price?"
You smile, sending shivers down their spines as you slowly look them up and down.
"There is one way, if you're both really that desperate."
It doesn't take long for you to have them both shuddering, face down on your desk as they lay there side by side. Both hands with three fingers deep inside of them. The stranger you learned was named Gaz who whines after a particularly harsh graze across his prostate. Hole spasming as he cums on only your fingers, crying out as he shivers.
"You just relax now, alright? Time for Soap to have his turn." You hum, pulling your fingers from Gaz's hole. Tapping his hole teasingly, and eliciting a small moan from his spit slick lips.
You pull your fingers out of Soap, wetting your cock with the leftover lube still on your fingers. Lining up and tapping your cockhead on his hole, smiling at his low whine. You don't tease him for long, sinking into him slowly and groaning low in your throat.
And he's so pretty, mouth open as he pants. Drooling onto your desk from the pleasure, having lost embarrassment after the first three times he came on your fingers. Resting his cheek on your desk, eyes screwed shut as inch after inch glides into him. His walls loose and properly warmed up after making sure to have him speared on your fingers.
"Feels good, don't it?" You breathe, hips finally meeting his cheeks. Staying still and gently patting his hips, watching as another shudder runs through him as he nods. Wet tongue licking his lips as he opens his lidded eyes, looking at Gaz who's cock is rock hard even after just cumming. His eyes dark and wide as he watches how Soap shivers and whines while your cock slowly slides into him.
You had been staying still to let him adjust, but he weakly moves his hips back. Letting out a loud moan when you grip his flushed cock, tears building in his eyes as overstimulation hits. Moaning as you begin to thrust in and out, stroking him in time with your slow pace.
“You see that, Gaz? Poor thing feels so good, don’t you Soap?” You huff in amusement, angling your hips just so, and thrusting deep. Soap keens, arching his back as he sobs.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Soap cries out, your cock hitting his prostate each time you thrust back in. Fresh wave of tears streaming down his face as he moans, adding to the small puddle of drool on your desk. Your hand speeding up and making his body tense, thighs shaking as his end grows nearer and nearer.
You hiss when he clenches around you, moving your hand off his cock and grabbing his hips for purchase. Fucking into him harder, faster.
With a loud wail, he cums from your cock and pace alone. Eyes rolling back as you fill him up, slumping against your desk as you slowly pull out. Pink and gaping hole twitching as your spend slowly trickles out.
You watch for a moment, catching your breath before turning to Gaz. Who’s stroking himself, cheek pressed against the desk. Having watched you and Soap, staying in position like a good little soldier.
“You ready for me, soldier?” You smile, seeing as he shivers and nods. Whining when you spit on your fingers to quickly check his hole, still loose and warm from your previous ministrations.
Pulling your fingers out, you slick your cock with some lube. Stroking yourself to keep your cock hard, hissing through the sensitivity. Despite having just came, you start lining yourself up and tease your cock through Gaz’s cheeks. Pushing his cheeks together to create a slick glide, your tip catching on his rim and making him whimper.
“Fuck, you’re so pretty. Can’t tease you for long.” You growl, putting your bulbous cockhead right against his rim and slowly pushing in.
He gasps, his hand pulling off his cock so he can brace himself against the desk. Moaning high in his throat as he feels his walls adjust to your thick length. You can’t help yourself, such a pretty man underneath you, you need to mark him.
With your cock nestled deep inside of him, you lean down and begin to kiss and nip at his back. Tracing your hands on his sides, and smirking when he trembles.
By the time he’s moving against you, his back is a mess of bites and hickey’s. His cock straining and low whines escaping him, moaning as you begin to fuck into him. Hands on his hips as you rest your forehead on his back, hips a constant force as you thrust. Fat cock zoned in on his prostate, making him cry out.
Like he was made to take cock, his hands grip the edge of your desk and uses the leverage to push back against you. His back arching as a hoarse cry falls from his lips.
You growl, wrapping an arm around his chest and pulling him up from your desk. Putting your other hand on his cock as you pound away, relishing in his squeal at the angle change. Tears pricking at his eyes as he draws closer and closer to the edge.
“Go on pretty boy, be a good boy and cum for me.” You murmur, stroking him faster as you keep your thrusting fast and hard.
A few more pumps, and he cries out. Cumming all over your fist and squeezing your cock so tight it almost hurts, making you moan as you fill him up.
Gently, you lay him back down onto the desk. Letting him catch his breath as he trembles from the aftershocks. Shuddering as he feels your cum slowly trickle out of him.
You wait til Soap wakes up, having already helped Gaz dress Soap. Helping Gaz dress up right after and handing them both a water bottle. Pulling your own pants on as you smile at them, satisfaction clear on your face.
You tell them the info for free.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prompt: trick or treat (something sweet this way comes p.III) Pairing: marcus pike x f!Reader Word Count: 2,524 Warnings: barely beta'd is the name of the game, all mistakes are my own. mentions of baking, a tiny dash of spice, no spoilers here 💕 Summary: maplewood, a small town nestled in northern bc where people flock to see the changing blossom trees and celebrate the fall season. after losing your job you find yourself a part of the community which includes the towns baker who left a less than stellar impression on you. AO3: coming soon
A/N: It's here! The conclusion to this terribly sweet Marcus Pike story and my October prompts!
x. masterlist x. something sweet this way comes part I x. something sweet this way comes part II
Tumblr media
As October inched towards its end, the energy in Maplewood shifted towards an almost palpable excitement. Fairy lights had been strung up between the buildings, ghosts and witches dangled from the trees, and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes sat proudly in shop windows.
You had thrown yourself with full vigour into your job search, declaring that your sabbatical in Maplewood would need to come to an end at some point. So you’d dusted off your resume, worked on cover letters and created many alerts of vacancies between Toronto and Vancouver.
And then, the offer came. A job back in Toronto. On paper, it was everything you had been working towards: good pay, room for advancement, a chance to move back to the bustling metropolis you knew so well.
Just two months ago, you would have snatched it up without a second thought. But things had changed. Maplewood had seeped into your bones; the small-town charm, the sense of community, and the friendships you'd formed had given you a newfound perspective on what ‘home’ could mean.
Adding another layer to your already complicated emotional landscape, was Libby.
“You know,” she said one evening, “the tourism board has an opening. It's in digital marketing,” Libby continued as you both sat in the living room above the bookstore, you with a new mystery novel and her with a cup of herbal tea. “They're expanding their team, and I thought of you immediately. You'd be perfect for it.”
You looked up from your book, “That does sound interesting,” you admitted, your mind racing as you weighed the options.
“Just think about it,” Libby advised, noting your indecision. “You don't have to make up your mind right away.”
But time was not a luxury you had. The job in Toronto needed an answer soon, and the Trick or Treat Parade was just around the corner, a reminder that life in Maplewood moved at its own pace, whether you were ready or not.
And then there was Marcus.
Amidst the excitement for the end of the month Trick or Treat Parade, you had successfully managed to avoid Marcus for the most part since your stint at the bakery.
Whether by luck or meticulous planning, you had kept your interactions brief and formal, a kind of self-imposed exile to protect yourself from... well, you still weren't exactly sure what you were protecting yourself from.
It wasn’t without his efforts either - he’d turned up the afternoon of the Jack-o-Lantern hunt. Libby had been sitting at the counter when she’d glanced up at the store's window seeing Marcus look both ways before jogging across the street. Eyebrows raised, she turned to you, “Marcus is coming over. Do you want me to—”
“Yes,” you interrupted, not even needing to hear the rest, “Libby, you just have to promise me, if Marcus asks for me, say I'm not here, okay?”
Libby chuckled but nodded. “You got it.”
You retreated to the back of the shop, behind rows of bookshelves and out of sight. Moments later, you heard the chime of the front door bell, announcing Marcus' arrival.
“Hey Libby, is—ah, never mind,” Marcus started, seeming to catch himself mid-sentence.
“She's not here,” Libby confirmed, her voice carrying to your hiding spot. “Can I help you with something?”
“Ah, just wanted to drop these off,” Marcus replied. You could almost hear the crinkling of paper, imagining him setting down one of his signature boxes of baked goods on the counter. “For both of you. Consider it a thank you for the help last week.”
“Sure, I'll let her know,” Libby said, slightly hesitant, as if balancing on a tightrope of truth and discretion.
Just as you were thinking you might've pulled off the perfect vanishing act, you accidentally knocked over a stack of newly arrived books with a loud crash. You winced, cursing your clumsiness under your breath.
Back at the front of the store, Marcus raised an eyebrow. “What was that?”
Libby cleared her throat, a little flushed, “Oh, it must be the mice. I've been meaning to deal with that.”
Marcus' voice floated back, laced with a knowing skepticism. “Mice?”
“Uh huh,” Libby nodded.
He gave her a pointed look, “It sounds like a rather large mouse.”
Libby stuttered a response, “I mean, did you see that picture of that rat eating pizza in that New York subway?”
With a departing chime of the bell, Marcus finally left after his conversation with Libby finished, and you waited a full minute before emerging from your hiding spot, guilt written all over your face.
Libby looked at you, then at the box Marcus had left on the counter. “So, what gives? Why are we avoiding Marcus?”
You sighed, finally letting your guard down. “I almost kissed him.”
Libby's eyes widened, her expression shifting from surprise to excitement and then she let out made you wince, “I knew it! I knew you two would be good for each other.”
“Libby, it's complicated,” you said, hoping to dial down her enthusiasm a notch or two.
“What's so complicated?” She nudged the box toward you, lifting the lid to reveal an array of doughnuts and pastries, each more inviting than the last. “The guy leaves you doughnuts, and you're practically swooning. Sounds pretty straightforward to me.”
“It's not about the doughnuts, or the almost-kiss, or any of that,” you said, searching for the right words. "It's about me. I'm confused. I came here to escape my old life, remember? To take a break and figure things out. And suddenly, I'm considering jobs here, thinking about staying in Maplewood, and—”
“Marcus Pike.” Libby finished for you, her eyes softening.
“And Marcus Pike,” you conceded, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders as you admitted it out loud. “Everything was straightforward, come here and take a break, find a job and get back to life, and now? Now it’s like my compass is spinning in every direction and I have no clue what I’m doing.”
Libby moved closer, her eyes sincere. “Look, life doesn’t always fit into neat boxes, and that’s okay. Sometimes the messy parts are what leads us to the most beautiful things.”
“You’re such a romantic, you’ve been hanging around these books too long,” you said, half-teasing but also touched by her words.
“And you’re a realist,” she said with a grin, “That’s why we get along. But sometimes, realists need to let their guard down and see where life takes them,” she replied, pushing the box of pastries closer to you.
You picked one up and took a tentative bite, your thoughts swirling almost as much as the cinnamon in the pastry. As you chewed, you found yourself reflecting on Libby’s words. There was a truth to them that resonated deep within you.
“So, what’s your plan?” Libby finally asked after you’d savoured your bite.
“Plan? Who says I have a plan?” you retorted, a smile creeping onto your face.
“That’s the spirit,” Libby cheered, raising her tea cup in a mock toast.
You clinked your doughnut against her cup.
But as the evening wore on, and you found yourself scrolling through job listings again, your cursor hovered over the tab with the Maplewood tourism board job. What would it be like to build a life here? To become part of this community, to wake up every morning in this sleepy but charming town, and possibly, to explore what it and its residents had to offer?
Tumblr media
It was the night of the Trick or Treat parade in the town square.
The evening air was crisp, filled with the smell of autumn leaves and the sugary scent of candy. The Maplewood Town Square had been transformed into a wonderland of Halloween festivities, with strings of orange lights illuminating the dusk, and tables adorned with pumpkins and fall decorations. Kids in costumes scurried about, their laughter and the chatter of their parents filling the air.
You adjusted your witch's hat, the extent of your commitment to dressing up for the occasion. Libby, in contrast, had gone all out, embodying Where's Waldo with red-and-white stripes and a matching beanie. She looked at you and chuckled, "You could've tried a little harder than just a hat."
“I'm wearing all black. That counts for something,” you said, defending your minimalistic approach.
The two of you mingled through the crowd, stopping at various tables to admire the creativity of your neighbors. Your heart thumped a little harder when you saw Marcus’s booth up ahead. He was standing behind a table, handing out intricately designed Halloween sugar cookies to a line of eager children.
“I suppose,” Libby mused, her eyes scanning the crowd as she munched on a caramel apple.
You felt a flutter of nerves in your stomach. You'd run into Marcus a couple days earlier when you’d both awkwardly bumped into each other at the grocery store. Just when you thought you might be able to say something, Ella, who owned the diner, popped between the two of you, asking Marcus about his glazed doughnuts, and you'd taken that as your cue to leave, losing your nerve.
Since then, you'd been keeping an eye out for him but with the town's festivities in full swing for the end of the month it was one missed opportunity after the other and left you feeling that the universe seemed to be giving you every sign that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't meant to be.
And tonight seemed like it was going down the same road.
Marcus looked engrossed now in a conversation with another parent, and you felt that familiar tension creep back in. Just as you thought of moving on, he looked up, catching your eye. For a moment, it was as if the world paused, his gaze locking onto yours. Your heart picked up speed, a sense of anticipation rising.
And then someone screamed, which was followed by the sound of laughter.
All eyes snapped to the spectacle of the haunted house across the way, the moment shattered. When you looked back at Marcus, he was once again absorbed in his work, handing out cookies to a trio of young witches.
“Damn it,” you muttered under your breath.
Libby glanced at you, then over at Marcus surrounded by children eager to fill their bags with treats, “Come on,” she said softly as she hooked arms with you, “Let’s go get some hot cider.”
As the evening wore on, you felt a series of missed chances piling up. It was almost getting humorous.  Every time you managed to get close to Marcus's table, he, or you were pulled away—including Sarah, who’d shown up with her arm in a sling wanting to know about your week in the bakery, and then by the Mayor, who wanted to thank Marcus for his contribution to the event.
Finally, resigning yourself to another missed opportunity, you told yourself it was for the best. It was easier this way—easier to keep Marcus at a distance, safely contained within the realm of 'what could have been' rather than risk the messiness of 'what could be.'
As the clock neared the end of the evening, you and Libby began the trek back to her apartment above the bookstore. Libby looked at you, her expression thoughtful. “You know, sometimes when the universe gives you signs, it's not to deter you but to test how much you really want something—or someone.”
You paused, letting her words sink in. Maybe she was right. Maybe these obstacles weren't stop signs but hurdles, gauging whether you'd leap or turn back.
Once you were inside, you looked out the window across the street to Marcus's bakery, now dark but for a single light on in the back.
You didn’t stop to think it through.
Instead you grabbed your jacket, telling Libby to lock up and you'd be back and headed out the door.
As you stepped out into the cool night, a newfound resolve settled in. If the universe was testing you, then it was time to pass with flying colours. And with that, you walked towards the bakery, not knowing what awaited you but ready to find out.
Standing outside the bakery door you paused for a moment, if only to take a deep breath before you knocked the door, hoping it was loud enough to be heard out back.
You heard him shout from the back, “I've got nothing left Bill, Frank will have to go without!”
You knocked again.
When the sound of hurried footsteps drew nearer, Marcus appeared with a perturbed look until he saw you standing there. His eyes widened with surprise as he opened the door.
“Hey,” you said, your voice tinged with a nervous energy you couldn't quite suppress. “Do you have a minute?”
“Of course,” Marcus said, stepping back to let you in.
The bakery felt cozy, its lingering scent of baked goods filling the air as you stepped inside, closing the door behind you.
You hesitated, your gaze falling on the miniature decorative ghosts that decorated the now empty display case. “I think I owe you an apology,” you started.
“What for?”
You licked your lips nervously before turning back to him, “For avoiding you.”
He smiled knowingly, “I had noticed your lack of presence every time I happened to come into the bookstore. I think Libby was starting to run out reasons for your absence.”
You laughed, “Despite living and breathing books, surprisingly creativity is not always her strongest suit.”
“That it's not.”
You smiled and continued, “I guess…” you trailed off trying to find the words, “we almost kissed…” you stuttered, still trying to find the right words.
“And why would that be a reason to avoid me? It felt like you wanted to as much as I did?”
“I did,” you admitted, “but it was complicated.”
“Complicated?”
You chewed at your lip, “Because I've had an offer to take a job back in Toronto.”
“Oh,” the disappointment in his voice was impossible to miss.
“Yeah.”
“Congratulations,” he started, trying to sound more upbeat, “you've always said it was your plan.”
You paused, “Well, it was.”
He cocked an eyebrow in confusion, “Was?”
You offered him a bashful smile, “You're looking at the newest digital marketing coordinator for the Maplewood tourism board.”
“Congratulations again,” he laughed.
“Thank you.”
Another silence fell between you, the tension in the room palpable.
Marcus looked at you, his eyes full of something you couldn’t quite put your finger on, but it felt like hope. “So, where does that leave us?”
You took a step closer. “I think that leaves us at the beginning of something. Something I’m willing to explore, that is if you are?”
Marcus closed the gap, his hands finding your face, his touch warm and grounding. “Then let’s start at the beginning.”
As your lips met, it felt like the answer to an unspoken question, a missing piece slotting into place.
And as you kissed, soft and tentative, as if both of you were testing the waters, the uncertainties and what-ifs seemed to melt away, leaving only the palpable sense of a new chapter unfolding.

It was John's rare day of and we charished it with quality time and Netflix. That's when my phone rang. "Lopez-Evers? Hi mom what's up?" *over the phone* "Hi sweetie how you doing?" "What do you want mom?" "Can't a mother ask how her child is doing?" "She can but I know she wants something by her tone so spill it" "What do you know about secret relationships?" my heart sank "what would I know about that?" "We think Nolan is in one and you have the greatest skills to find out who it is." "Aren't you the detective?" "I can't spy on my co-worker" "so you want me to do it?" John looked at me with confusion and he picked me up and put me on his lap and nuzzled into my neck while I kept talking "Mom I love you but I won't Stalk your co-worker bc you want to know who he is dating, if you want to find out ask him yourself. Why don't you and dad throw a grill party or something then you could ask him, I can come to if you want, I mean it's springbreak so I have the next two weeks in LA." "okay I'm gonna tell your dad but please tell me what you find" "I won't find anything bc will not stalk Nolan end of discussion. Love you bye." John looked at me confused "why would you Stalk me?" "I will not Stalk you amor but I don't think this will be a secret much longer. My mom really wants to know who you date, maybe because you act differently." "So we are going to a grill party at your parents to find out I date you?" he asked amused "Yes precisely now if you don't stop with the little kisses I will drag you into the bedroom." I said and earned a mischievous grin from him "Oh well I do not mind" and kissed my neck harder until he hit my weak spot and I moaned. "John I swear to god~ christ that is good" he chuckled into my neck, turned me around and picked me up and carried me into the bedroom. "amor, as much as I would love doing that I have to get home and change." I was mad at myself for saying that. "You look beautiful all the time love" he said and kissed me. "thank you baby but I still have to change into something that isn't yours even if we get exposed today I still want to drag it out because as soon as my mother knows all hell will break lose and at least then she will have some alcohol in her system. " I said. "Alraight I will see you tonight but after that I will take out outfit and it will be in the corner of the room." "Okay sound perfect, I love you and I will see you at my parents." I gave him a quick kiss and walked out the house.
*Timeskip bc Idk what to write*
I was wearing something that will drive john insane bc the last time I wore it I couldn't walk the next day, that was fun explaining that to my professor when I couldn't stand for my presentation. I arrived and My Parents friend were already here but no John.
"I thought that whole thing was about Jo- Nolan, where is he?" I asked cursing myself for almost calling him John.
"He Texted me traffic is bad so he's running late." Lucy said. "What happened to your neck?" Harper asked with a smile "Got a Guy from LA?" "You have a boyfriend?" My mom asked in disbelief "I do and I wanna say imma kill him but I think you will take care of that." I said and the realisation hit Harper "No..." "Yes and I need you to not tell anyone okay" "Harper who is it?" My mother asked. "Oh you are going to figure that one out by yourself I am just gonna get popcorn and enjoy the show." she said and Lucy gave her a look of confusion then realisation and then shock in what my mother is going to do to him as soon as she finds out.
Nolan was enjoying a beer and a talk with my dad when my mother interrupted "Nolan question, do you know who my daughters boyfriend is?" She asked as if it was the most normal thing in the world John on the other hand was white as a ghost. "Why would I know that I barely see her I didn't even know she's here hi btw it's good to see you again, now I'm going to get a beer you want one?" He asked pointing at me "Yes I would love to and get my mother also one." Once John was gone a turned to my mom "Where is dad?" "Oh he is in the back Jard showing James his knew grill" My mum and Harper chuckled "What is it with Dads and Grills?" I that moment John came back and handed me mine and my mom's beer, when he handed me mine he said: "Here you go Honey-" That's when everyone froze. "Nolan, I am going to kill you!" "Oh God I would run amor" And with that John ran to the other guys and try to hide. We all started laughing.

When he woke up from his nap, it was to the sound of their voice. At first, he thought it was his mind playing tricks on him; giving him dreams that were too far out of his reach. Dreams spun of laughter that were far too sweet to ever be fully his. Mere fantasies that Leona couldn't even believe in, let alone grasp.
And it was annoying how often he found himself dreaming of them lately. Especially after this stupid, annoying task that the damn crow assigned them. So he grunted, pressing his eyes shut further; hoping that the image of them would finally disappear.
That was until he felt the tug on his leg,  "Leo~na? Are you still asleep? Geez, how did you even make it up there?"
Ah. That was the real them, wasn't it?
Weighted eyelids eased open, watching as they clambered up the tree to get to him. He made no attempt to move; keeping his tail as still as he could. Instead, he watched— thoroughly amused— as they huffed, finally managing to haul themself onto a nearby branch.
He chose that moment to finally speak, "Crewel's gonna flip if you get that dirty."
Their shoulders jolted, " Sevens– How long have you been awake for?"
"Just now," Leona yawned, giving his neck a stretch. "What're you doing here?" He watched with unease as they situated themself on the branch. He reached for his magic pen, just in case.
"I was looking for you," They chuckled lightly. "Vil-senpai was flipping his lid over you escaping while he wasn't looking. He asked me to look for you."
"And?" Leona had to thank Vil for this opportunity. It wasn't often that he got time alone with them. "Did he think a herbivore like you could take me back there?"
"Stop being childish," They tutted, and the decorations on their clothes clinked as they moved. "You know Vil-senpai's only being harsh because we don't have much time. And besides, you're the centerpiece of our show."
"Damn right I am," Leona said, infusing his words with arrogance as a ploy. "And this star needs some rest from that guy's tyranny."
"C'mon, I'll accompany you back and watch your practice," They bargained, holding out a hand. And Leona considered it for a moment. Having them there would be better than not having them there. But that kind of deal was too easy.
He raised a brow, "You think that's gonna work?"
"Mmm, Ruggie-senpai told me to try it out," There was a foolish smile on their face. It made Leona look away; frustrated from how unaware they were. "Guess he was wrong."
"'Course he was."
"So then how will I get this great and mighty Leona-sama back to the practice rooms?" A hand was placed exaggeratedly on their chin.
Leona jumped down before they could say another word. It was better to let them trip over themselves to think of how to repay him. After all, the person who wants something is always at a disadvantage. They just had more to lose.
He brushed off his pants, untangling the sash before sparing them a glance, "You coming?"
"Wh- it took me five minutes to get up here-! Hey, don't leave without me!" Leona paused. His sharp eyes didn't miss a glint in the grass, pocketing the item as he waited. His ears twitched slightly, making sure that they didn't just face-plant on the ground.
A moment later and they were next to him, complaining all the while, "Why are you suddenly...no, this is a good thing. But–"
"Just changed my mind," The corner of his lips twitched at their blatant disbelief. "What? Even stubborn lions can change their minds sometimes."
They made it into the hallways of Pomefiore before they spoke again, "I'm still trying to figure out your angle."
"There's no angle," Leona said, and their eyes narrowed at him like he was crazy.
"Ah wait," They stopped in their tracks, patting down their front. "I almost forgot about this." In their hands were the...weeds that Leona had in his hair. Crewel and Vil had called it an "avant-garde masterpiece of a hair accessory" but really, it looked like a weed to Leona.
"Go and sit," They tilted their head towards the throne in the center of the Pomefiore lounge.
He scoffed, "No way. There's literally a normal chair right there."
And him? Sitting on that shiny excuse of a throne? The very one Vil sat on? Definitely not. Even if a small part of him longed for a throne of his own, that...thing was no throne. It was a toy for make-believe at best.
They tugged at his arm, "Come on, I bet everyone wants to sit in that at least once." Their eyes met his; twinkling mischievously, "Are you scared someone will see? Everyone's at their clubs right now."
"Fucking– just...do it quick," He grumbled, settling onto the velvet plushness of the so-called throne.
His mouth pressed into a firm line as they drew closer, trepidation crawling under his skin. Their fingers brushed through his hair lightly at first. Then gaining confidence, till they were combing through the brown strands thoroughly.
As they leaned in closer, he watched as they eclipsed the brightness of the chandelier; basking him in their shadow. They were close enough that Leona could smell the scent of flowery perfume clinging onto their clothes; no doubt courtesy of Vil.
They weren't looking at him. No, they were far too focused on his hair. It was a good thing, really. Because if they were looking at him...well, Leona wouldn't know how they would react.
Emerald eyes traced over their features: the concentrated crease of their brows, the curve of their cheek, and the length of their nose. The slightest part of their lips, the slow rise and fall of their shoulders almost lulling him into a sense of calm. He clutched at the chair, trying to ward off his observations to no avail.
Sevens, he wanted to kiss them. So badly. But he couldn't. Not here, and definitely not now. And not when he knew there was a big chance that they would never see him the same.
Instead, he reached a hand up, brushing firmly at their shoulder. That caused them to flinch in surprise, their gaze finally meeting his. His lips parted; throat feeling oddly dry, "There was somethin' there."
"Oh," Their eyes darted to his hand and back. "I think that might be glitter. Grim spilled a whole bunch of it on me earlier."
"Glitter," He repeated. "That's why you're so...shiny." He tried to ignore the halo of light that wrapped around the crown of their head, making them a monarch in their own right. Even if all they ruled over was his heart.
"You say that like you aren't shining yourself, Mr. Centerpiece," There was one last touch to their hair before they finally pulled back. Leona breathed out a long sigh of relief. "And done. Now it doesn't look like you rolled around in the bushes."
"Hah. As if that guy won't grill me anyway for disappearing," He stood up, trying to get the feeling back in his fingers from how hard he was gripping the chair. "C'mon, lead the way."
"You say that like you haven't been going there every day for this past week." They say that. They say that and yet they still held his sleeve as they lead the way.
"'M not a kid, herbivore," Leona said, though he made no move to brush them off. Rather, he enjoyed the sight of them leading him for once.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm trying to make sure you don't decide to slip away again," They said as they reached the room. "Now go and accept your fate. Running away is futile at this point." He stepped in front of them, reluctant to enter the room.
"Hey," He waited till they were finally looking at him again. He wanted to say a simple 'thank you'. That was what you said to people who you wanted to thank, right?
But what came out instead was, "You almost lost this." He pulled out the thing he had pocketed earlier. One of their bracelets. He could hazard a guess as to how they dropped it; probably during their earlier tree climbing.
They searched their wrists, eyes wide, "That's...one of my bracelets."
"Good of you to notice," Leona slipped it onto his own wrist. "Come find me after my practice is over 'n I'll give it back. You owe me, alright herbivore?"
"So there was a catch," He heard them mutter to themself. "Bastard."
His tail was high in the air as he lumbered into the practice room from hell. Kalim was in the corner doing squats, for some reason. And Vil was focused on Jamil. Though he was sure that Vil didn't miss his entrance. Leona took his place near one of the windows, heaving a sigh as he cast a spell to fill the vases with water.
Well, he had to say it was worth the trouble this time. After he finished his laps and tuned in for a lecturing by Vil, he had a, mm, meeting with the herbivore. Their bracelet made a light clink as he started his first lap. Leona felt a smile slowly suffuse his usually-indifferent expression. Ah, he really couldn't wait after all.

aster comforting his sensitive girl is the cutest thing ever. i love when she gets more open in the relationship and straight up goes to him when she’s upset still she but more open where before she wanted till he came up to her. them at a friends house far away visiting maybe and her stomachs upset and poor baby just has soooo much anxiety and she goes up to him maybe he could tell she’s been off for a bit now and she goes up to him quietly cause she’s a little embarrassed contining on anothe💜
continued💜 but she’s to embarrassed for other people to know but she is desperate for his comfort maybe she had been taking a nap and she comes out of the room they are staying in and goes over to him and he looks up noticing her face and the way she pouts when she’s upset and he instantly concerned and she squeaks can you come to the wrong with me and he’s like ofc baby and when they get back to the room she’s instantly crying explaining how she doesn’t feel good and wants to go home 💜-
💜- and he’s just automatically sitting on the bed putting her on his lap while she stuffs her head in his neck for natural comfort and he tries to calm her down before they make a plan because he knows plans help her anxiety and he rubs her back you’re okay baby until she’s calmed down enough and he just validated her feelings while making a plan, so your tummy’s upset and you wanna go home but you feel bad leaving but are uncomfortable here and her fingers are between her teeth 💜💜-
💜💜- and she just nods and keeps getting teary and she explains how she feels bad but she wants to be in the comfort of their own home so obviously he wants to stay but a angry thought doesn’t even cross his mind and he gets her medicine and has her lay on the bed to try and nap while he packs up the room and goes downstairs to tell the friends and he’s road tripping them home soon enough and they get in their bed and she’s so much for comfortable 💜💜💜-
💜💜💜-and he’s so happy his baby is okay-ish now and he just lets her sleep on him and babies his sensitive girl because he knows her stomach may have not hurt that bad to leave but he know it was mostly overstimulation and being away from home that sent her overboard and he’s happy that he’s her ultimate comfort. sorry this was so long!
omg bestie:(((( first of all shes def still so shy telling him things like that but she also doesn't always wait for him to notice before saying anything esp if its bad enough:( but first of all him holding her on his lap and hes just petting her hair and like talking her through her feelings about it all like "youre uncomfortable and don't feel well but you don't want to be rude and ask to leave hm?" and she nods her head like a little whimpery and holding his hands :( and ofc he doesn't really want to leave his friends but he cares about her more than anything so ofc hes not upset getting ready to leave and him grabbing her some medicine for the drive home:( setting her up to relax and try to nap some while he packs up:( and his friends are always so understanding bc they can see that little dynamic between them that this is so much for him you know like shes So Much for him so its not a problem knowing that shes not feeling well and he wants to take her home to feel better:( but you saying hes her ultimate comfort:(((((( like im going to lose my mind bc youre so right:(((((((((((((( shes his sensitive girl and hes her favorite thing in the world to calm down with :(

Since badgers are considered 'bloodthirsty beasts' by cats, i wonder if TC saw white&birch's adoption of dovekit as them having a sort of dangerous 'pet'? what i mean is. how did the clan(s) react to dovekit- did they think shes just a dumb predator, that the adoption was just whitewings being a stupid shecat whos acting irrationally bc of her 'maternal instincts'? did they expect her to 'get over it' and realise dove is not, and never will be, her child?(they would be wrong obviously)
like. maybe other cats starter looking at white and birch with confusion/disappointment/distrust bc of their decision. and they treat it like a weird gimmick, a stupid experiment....... they dont expecut dovekit to learn clan culture and social cues and even how to speak- and then she does
does that make sense?? i have a very clear thought in my head but cant get it through rn
So to preface this, I came up with another little bit of lore to add onto: When WhiteWing gave birth, it was… An incredibly difficult one to say the least. Whether it was due to stress or some other problem, WhiteWing had lost the litter, all except for IvyKit. WhiteWing and BirchFall took the loss incredibly hard and clan mates would see either WhiteWing, BirchFall, or both laying around completely still, not wanting to eat or get up. Of course, with the clans being clans, they would still try to pry them to keep attending hunting patrols and border patrols and the likes (Remember, the clans do not let cats grieve, they expect them to immediately bounce back)
All until that day when Thunderclan attacked an area full of badgers. And as you may know, WhiteWing and BirchFall stumbled upon DoveKit and took her in out of pity and guilt, but also out of a sense of deep parental love. Yes, Of course, Thunderclan thought this adoption wouldn't be permanent, that the two mates would "Come to their senses" - as the cats stated - and realize that their choice was "Irrational and dictated by their grief of losing their other kittens". But that never happened. The clans don't see adoption as being a thing - Looking at Power of Three - so Thunderclan was vehement of their word that DoveKit would never be White+Birch's child. WhiteWing and BirchFall lost the trust of some of their clan mates that day, but that didn't matter to the two, they didn't care if a few hateful, close-minded cats didn't trust them anymore.
Some of the Thunderclan cats did treat the entire thing as some weird sort of gimmicky "experiment" and they treated DoveKit like a stupid beast, laughing at her for not being able to pick up on feline social cues or not being able to speak proper cat language. They are proven wrong later on of course, and they just brush it off like they didn't make an idiot out of themselves for mocking a baby's lack of proper verbal and physical communication. So yes, to answer the question, Thunderclan did see DoveKit as some dumb beast and saw WhiteWing and BirchFall as being idiots for their "irrational" decision to adopt the clan's greatest enemies into their care and that thought process kept going on strong even into DoveWing's warrior years up until she left Thunderclan. Despite all of that, DoveWing always had her supporters.

20 questions for fic writers
Thank u to @read-and-write- @daisymae-12 @inexplicablymine @happiness-of-the-pursuit and @kiwiana-writes for the tags! :) I loved reading all of y'alls answers heheheheh
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
6 and i'm proud of each one even though this is somewhat of a small number
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
33,929
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Red, White and Royal Blue as of now - I would like to maybe write for Heartstopper one day but we shall see
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
You Came Out of Nowhere (And You Cut through All the Noise)
All of This Silence and Patience (Pining and Anticipation)
Far too Enamored to be Content Now
King of My Heart
Baby, You're Gonna Lose Your Own Game
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
YEAH ALWAYS! :) Comments are one of the top things that keep me motivated bc just knowing that ppl read my writing and like it enough to tell me? Yeah.... that's insane and they genuinely mean so much to me
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't think any of them do? If anything maybe my most recent one Help Me Hold On to You because it's more of a hopeful ending
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All of them do but a genuine happy ending that I adore and always makes me smile and giggle and kick my feet would have to be All of This Silence and Patience (Pining and Anticipation) (I honestly just love a great mutual pining reveal and the giddiness that comes with it)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No and thank goodness for that
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do indeed.... heheheheh - idk what to even say as for what kind but I will say that I am seemingly incapable of not adding a lot of feelings to my porn as of now (even my one quote unquote enemies fic had some internal what's going on feelings in there) y'all can ask @read-and-write-
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I don't
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of but I think it would be so epic
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not yet but me and @inexplicablymine have a very silly idea in the works that i'm very excited for
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oh goodness I have hyper fixated on many but I would honestly say FirstPrince and Narlie are pretty close to one another
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't want to say any of them bc I genuinely love all of the ideas that I have and I would love to see all of them get written
16. What are your writing strengths?
Prose and introspection seems to be my loves at the moment - I think I'm pretty great at writing very descriptively, using literary devices, and getting into character's minds
And feelings.... simp action for everyone all around (but I've also apparently made ppl cry so there's also that)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Maybe dialogue? I think it's just a part that I need to practice more so that I personally feel more confident in my ability to write it
Also (sorry if this sounds so faux interview of me) but I think I write too much sometimes maybe? Like I cannot find it in me to be succinct. I want to try to write fics that are more plot oriented and whatnot but I have to figure out how to not end up writing 8-10k for just one day/night first
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I'm not the most confident in my abilities to do so but @read-and-write- has helped me whenever I wanted to include spanish in my fics
I also like the idea of pet names in other languages so I would incorporate those too
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Red, White and Royal Blue
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
If I include two.... no I didn't (yeah I did) but I love them for seperate reasons
You Came Out of Nowhere (And You Cut through All the Noise) - It's just so so so so special to me. It's so soft and sweet and fluffy and I love writing flustered Henry and confident and snarky Alex and mutual pining and boys hiding in a small closet together and and and and (and I'm writing a 3+1 companion fic for this one soon too which I'm so excited for)
Help Me Hold On to You - My most recent fic. Hurt/comfort, very cathartic to write, genuinely means so much to me, I got to write so prosey and use all the literary devices that I wanted to use (the bees.... the bees) and get into my Alex's mind more and many people have sent me love for it which makes me incredibly happy
I had a lot of ppl tag me in this so let's see I'm going to tag @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @welcometololaland @hypnostheory @sherryvalli @tintagel-or-cockleshells @littlemisskittentoes @14carrotghoul @cricketnationrise and anyone else who wants to do it

17 and 25 for the weird questions 👀
Thanks for the ask! 17. Tell me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won't make it in the text. My current WIP actually does have quite a bit of history and humor to it. A year ago, after I finished writing "the bitter and the sweet," I was riding high on the thrill of a new hyperfixation and a 50k word story completed. I immediately decided I wanted to write another post-canon fic, this time from Dong-sik's POV, that might sort of mirror what happened in the bitter and the sweet - Dong-sik selling everything, leaving home, essentially running away. I came up with a concept and started writing it but for some reason or another, I couldn't put my finger on exactly what I wanted the story to be ABOUT. Not the setting or the endgame, but the emotional journey I was about to put him through. The WIP sat on the back burner with 1 chapter completed all year long until just recently when I picked it back up again and had a sudden burst of inspiration about what direction I wanted it to go. I don't like giving away a lot of details about my WIPs until I post them, so I'll just say this is a story about Joowon and Dongsik accidentally ending up doing home improvement together and Dongsik realizing along the way what he really wants and how to heal 💕 25. What weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story? Not sure if this is weird or hyper-specific, just a head-canon of mine, but I've always believed that despite being raised Catholic, Dong-sik has always been something of an atheist, and the reason he wasn't at his grandmother's funeral the day Yu-yeon disappeared, is that this grandmother (his dad's mom bc I do not get the sense that his mother is in That Much mourning either) was also very Catholic and kind of a huge, homophobic bitch that had Dongsik pegged as queer long ago. So of course he's skipping her wake to go play guitar lol I'm always curious about the Lee family because we only get bare-bones details for extended family members. You never see any of them again because, I'm assuming, they cut him off after the accusations/his parent's deaths. The reason he clings onto Sang-bae so hard, even though he was the one who arrested/beat Dongsik into confessing, is that he literally doesn't have any other family members left. Sang-bae is like a psuedo-father/grandfather/uncle/mentor all wrapped into one - then Dongsik loses him too :((( In my mind, this also explains his reluctance to let go of Jeong-je's friendship despite what he did. They were both growing up queer in a small town, the only people who knew the truth about each other, but sadly, a romance was not meant to be.
Send me a number from this ask game, Weird Questions for Writers, if you're up to it!

Can I request one where it’s post tfatws and zemo somehow breaks out of the wakandan jail and is back and he texts reader (Steve is Y/N’s older brother and she is also a supersoldier and married to Bucky) on a burner phone and she’s very secretive and one night she meets Zemo in a closed off diner and stuff and they discuss something his new plan to take down and expose the power broker (Bucky and Sam don’t know it’s Sharon) and when she leaves she runs into Bucky on the street but he can’t see her face because she’s wearing this and it’s very dark so they start to fight but she gets away and Bucky notices that the moves seem familiar. The next day, he asks her where she went last night because she came back late and she lies and so the next night, they fight the power broker’s men and she’s not in her regular fighting outfit she’s wearing this and zemo is hiding and later when Bucky sees the figure getting away he runs after it and shoots a bullet to the sky to stop the person. She realizes that this is where he finds out and she can’t do anything so she turns back and when she does removes the hood, it reveals it’s her and he is betrayed and thinking she’s working with zemo to bring back the winter soldier but she was only trying to take down the power broker with angst and fluffy ending plz 😁❤️
Hi! I absolutely LOVED your request so much!! I've been working on it for so long bc I wanted it to be perfect. I don't know if it is, but it's as close as I can get🤷🏻‍♀️ Also it's kind of long bc I tried to eplain a little the reasons behind reader's actions I got carried away. I hope you like it and and that it comes close to what you had in mind
Summary: Zemo contacts you after escaping from prison because he wants you to help him stop the Power Broker. You thought he was crazy for thinking you would be willing to join him, but when he brought up the fact that it was a dangerous mission you had no choice but to accept his offer. You hated Zemo, but you weren't willing to lose Bucky. He was the last family you had left.
Warnings: established relationship (Bucky and reader are married), angst, reader lies to Bucky, Zemo being a little shit and getting in everybody's heads, Bucky’s insecurities, ends in fluff. Also reader is Steve's younger sister and a super soldier
English is not my first language
Word count: 9400+
Notes: there's surprisingly more Zemo in this than I initially anticipated. Apparently i find him to be an interesting and fun character to write, so sorry about that
Between Us || Bucky Barnes x Rogers!Reader
You should have known something bad was going to happen. Usually fate didn't let you enjoy many peaceful moments. It didn't care that you had earned your vacation or that you and Bucky were planning that romantic getaway since your wedding. No, fate only cared about making you run from one problem to another without giving you a break. Your whole life had been like that, so when you heard Bucky's phone ringing you knew your vacation was over before he even answered the call.
What you didn't expect was to see all glimpse of happiness leave your husband's face as soon as the voice on the other line spoke. His expression became serious, raising your concern. He ended the call after exchanging a couple of words that didn't give you much information, and let out a frustrated sigh, throwing the phone on the bed. You got up, approaching him with concern to ask him what had happened.
"Zemo escaped."
Your vacation was over as soon as those words came out of Bucky's mouth. You quickly packed up your things and hopped on the first plane back home, where you contacted Sam before settling comfortably back into your house. He was already working with the Dora Milaje to find Zemo and bring him back to prison so he gave you a brief summary of what they knew. They didn't have many leads, just a vague theory about how he had escaped, but that was it. Zemo hadn't left any trace or clue as to where he was headed. So you spent the last few weeks stuck watching security camera footage waiting for facial recognition software to find him somewhere.
"I never should have helped him escape." Bucky muttered in frustration as he watched the live feed from one of the security cameras located near one of the properties Zemo owned in the area. His eyes were glued to the screen, but you didn't need to see them to know they were filled with guilt and regret. Zemo could get inside Bucky's head in a way that very few people could. And now he was letting the situation cloud his judgment, finding a way to blame himself for Zemo's escape even though he had nothing to do with it. So you stepped in to stop his thoughts from spiraling out of control.
"Stop that, Buck. This is not your fault." You reassured him in a soft voice, turning his chair around to force him to look at you.
"Yeah well, I helped him escape the first time. He spent how long in that German prison? And he never tried anything... And now he spends a couple months in Wakanda and he escapes! Makes me think that maybe he liked the freedom I gave him a little too much."
"It doesn't make any sense." You spoke in a contemplative tone. "You said it yourself, he was locked up for a long time and he never tried anything. So why now?"
"Because he's insane and I showed him how to do it."
"No, there's gotta be more to it. There's something we are not seeing. This feels too random to be Zemo."
"What do you mean?" Bucky looked at you with confusion, his eyes full of curiosity.
"I mean Zemo works with a moral code, a very fucked up one, but a moral code at last. All he does has a purpose. Using you to destroy the avengers, helping us stop Karli and the rest of the super soldiers... So what is his plan now?"
"What you're trying to say is that we should try to figure out what his plan is in order to catch him?" Bucky said more as a question than a statement. You nodded.
"I mean, I think it's very unlikely that he escaped just because he was bored. It's Zemo! There's always something more with him." You had no idea what he might be up to, but you were sure he was up to something. That just was the kind of person Zemo was. "I think that's our best plan to catch him."
After discussing the situation for a while, Bucky left the room to call Sam and tell him about your ideas and theories. You took advantage of the moment to get up and stretch your legs, approaching the coffee pot to pour your second cup of coffee of the morning. You hadn't slept well the night before and you would need to have your energy and cognitive abilities functioning properly if you wanted to make progress on the case.
Your phone began to vibrate and you pulled it out of your pocket as you took a sip of your hot coffee without giving the matter much thought. You expected to find some unimportant notification or an email that you didn't have time to respond to. However, when you read the content of the text message glowing on your screen you almost dropped the cup of coffee from your hands. It was a rather cryptic message from an unknown number, but you were sure you knew who had sent it.
Hello, my darling.
We should talk.
Meet me at midnight and come alone.
The message had a location attached to it at the end, with no name or personal details to give you any clues as to who the sender was or to whom it was addressed. But you didn't need any details to know who it was from.
My darling.
That was not a message that you had received by mistake, nor was it a joke. No. That was a message that Zemo had sent specifically to you. You were sure of it. No one else called you that way. You didn't know exactly why he did it, you suspected it had something to do with his obsession with annoying Bucky. He knew you hated it when he called you that and that's why he had used it in the message. He knew you would recognize it immediately.
It was a stupid move. Escaping from jail just to contact you and give you his location and the time he would be there. You didn't understand the logic behind his action. What did he think would happen? There was no way you would listen to him. You would attend his meeting, only accompanied by Sam, Bucky and all the Dora Milaje if that was what you had to do to catch him and put him back in jail.
However, you thought it would be a good idea to play along. You were pretty sure that Zemo had communicated with you using a burner phone, so there wasn't any point in tracking him down. But maybe if you got him to talk you would get some details that might help you understand the situation a little better.
What makes you think you can trust me?
You wrote after contemplating your options for a moment. You were trying to provoke him, to bait him into talking without being too obvious. You thought it would be best to proceed with caution, to react defensively instead of agreeing to his demands immediately to make it seem more credible. Zemo knew very well that you didn't like him and he didn't like you either. As a super soldier, you represented everything he hated. But he was still communicating with you and you wanted to understand why.
Time seemed to freeze as you waited for an answer. Your eyes stayed glued to the screen as you bit the skin on the inside of your cheek. The seconds ticked and you started to worry by the lack of an answer so you threw the phone on the table in frustration, thinking that maybe Zemo had already thrown the phone away to avoid being traced.
But then the device vibrated again. And nothing in the world could have prepared you for the words you read when you unlocked your phone.
Sharon is the Power Broker.
The world around you began to spin as you read the message over and over again, hoping that somehow the words in it would change. It couldn't be true. You refused to believe it. She had helped you escape after the Sokovia Accords, turning against the government she worked for you. She had risked her life by helping you stop Karli and the Flag Smashers. Sharon had saved your life on countless occasions and you refused to believe that someone like her was capable of the acts attributed to the Power Broker.
But then the cynical voice inside your head reminded you that Sharon had spent a lot of time alone in Madripoor. Years in which you hadn't had contact with her, so you didn't really know what had become of her life. She seemed to have managed quite well. And yes, it was largely because she had become a smuggler of stolen art, but there was a big difference between that and being a mob boss, wasn't there? Still, that voice in your head couldn't help but wonder if it was possible that Sharon was capable of something like that.
"No, there's no way..." You muttered to yourself in an attempt to quiet that annoying voice. That was probably all part of Zemo's plan, whatever it was. He was messing with you because that's what he did best. He is an expert in the art of manipulation and you couldn't let him into your mind. You couldn't let him win.
However, when Bucky came back into the room you didn't mention anything about Zemo's message or his accusations about Sharon. So on some level he had already won, you just weren't ready to admit it yet.
Tumblr media
Lying in the darkness of your room you continued to mentally debate what you should do. The meeting with Zemo was in an hour and you still hadn't decided what course of action to take. You wanted to tell Bucky, explain the situation and go with him to find Zemo to settle everything once and for all. But seeing him sleeping so peacefully next to you, you weren’t able to wake him up. He looked so calm with his eyes closed and his hair all messy on the pillow. It wasn't so common for him to sleep so peacefully. His dreams were usually plagued with horrible memories of his past life that haunted him in the form of nightmares.
He needed a good night's rest, he deserved that peace and quiet and you didn't want to be the one to interrupt it. Just as you didn't want to be the one to inform him that there was a small possibility that Sharon was the Power Broker. You knew he would blame himself for it like he did with everything. Because in his mind he was the reason Sharon had had to escape to Madripoor and live among criminals until he eventually became one. And you didn't want to bring him that kind of pain, at least not until you found out the truth.
Looking at Bucky's beautiful face you realized what you had to do. Leaning over him, you placed a soft kiss on his forehead, feeling the weight of guilt on your chest. ‘It's for the best.’ A voice in your mind repeated over and over as you got out of bed. You grabbed some clothes from the closet before heading for the door, opting to change your attire in a place where the noise of your movements couldn't wake Bucky.
Before leaving you turned to observe the relaxed figure of your husband in bed, moving slightly to adjust his position as he slept. "It's for the best." You whispered into the darkness before leaving the room, closing the door carefully behind you.
You quickly changed out of your pajamas into a more appropriate outfit. You decided it would be better not to wear your usual suit to avoid being recognized, so you opted for a black outfit that gave you incredible mobility while helping you stay hidden in the darkness of the night. You laced up your combat boots and pulled up the hood of your suit, hiding your identity behind the fabric, before grabbing your gun and heading out of your house.
As you drove to the location Zemo had sent you, you adjusted the details of your plan. You were not going to work with him. You didn't care if his words were true, he belonged in prison. But you figured it wouldn't hurt to talk to him a little before you arrested him, find out what he knew to deduce if it was just a bunch of lies or if he was really telling the truth. It was a big accusation he was making against Sharon and you couldn't just ignore it. So you decided it would be best to talk to him to draw your own conclusions. After all, Sharon was your friend and deserved the benefit of the doubt.
There was nothing you wanted more than for Zemo to be lying, but deep down you knew there was a possibility that it was all true. As much as it pained you to admit it, him breaking out of prison to deal with the Power Broker sounded reasonable. It fit his moral code and you feared it might be that missing piece of information you had been looking for all along.
When you arrived at your destination you were surprised to find that it was a well-maintained building. Due to his status as a fugitive you expected Zemo to have arranged to meet you in some abandoned shed in the middle of nowhere, but you should have figured it would be the opposite. That was not Zemo's style, he liked luxury and the finer things in life. He was a Baron after all, that was the life he was used to.
You checked the perimeter before entering, looking for any signs that would alert you that you were walking into a trap. The streets were empty so a guard or sniper would have easily stood out. Finding nothing suspicious, you knocked on the door while praying you had made the right decision.
The large doors opened, revealing the face of an elderly man on the other side. It was the same man who had greeted you on Zemo's private jet when you helped him escape from prison the first time. He smiled kindly at you and led the way to his employer. You walked down the hallway cautiously, resting your hand on the gun secured to your waist in case you needed it.
"What the hell is this place?"
The room at the end of the hallway was much larger than you had expected. It was decorated with expensive looking paintings and vases. In the center was a long wooden table that looked like something out of a fairytale princess's castle. On it rested a variety of plates filled with food. And at the head of the table, seated as if on a throne, was Zemo.
"Ah, my darling, you made it!" He exclaimed, looking up from his plate to glance at you. "Do you like it? It's one of the several properties I own in the area." He explained simply, wiping the corners of his lips with a cloth napkin that rested in his lap.
"We didn't know about this one." You muttered, momentarily distracted by your surroundings.
"I was counting on that," he said with a smile. "Please, sit down, darling. I hope you don't mind that I started without you." He added, gesturing toward the food on his plate. "I couldn't help myself, prison food does not compare to these delicacies."
You watched him from the doorway with slightly raised eyebrows, surprised by his casual tone. Zemo continued eating as if nothing was wrong, as if he was sure that you were no danger to him. That bothered you. You weren't there to play games, you were there to arrest him and get the information you needed. He thought he had you trapped under his web of lies and manipulation, but he didn't and you made sure to let him know it.
"Get up, Zemo. You're coming with me." It wasn't a request, it was a statement reinforced by the gun you had taken out of its holster and held in your hands, pointing in his direction. Zemo looked at you with amusement in his eyes and continued eating, not at all concerned about your threatening pose.
"Relax, my darling. There is no need for violence."
"I'm not here to play, Zemo. You are going back to prison." You took a couple of steps forward, approaching him hoping that your insistence would make him realize that things wouldn't go his way this time.
"We can talk about this." Zemo spoke in a soft tone, finally letting go of his fork and focusing all of his attention on you. "Remember, I'm on your side."
"No you're not. We are not partners, I'm not working with you!"
"Yet you are here all alone, just like I asked." You opened your mouth to respond, but closed it a second later. He was right and you hated it. Zemo smiled triumphantly and you began to think that maybe you hadn't made the right decision after all. "You need me to stop the Power Broker... To stop Sharon from hurting more people."
"How do I know this isn't another one of your tricks?"
"All the information I have on Sharon is in that file." Zemo pointed to a rather bulky folder resting on the other end of the table, right in front of your eyes. "Go ahead, read it. You'll see I'm being completely honest with you, my darling."
Your eyes traveled from the folder to Zemo and back to the folder, trying to decide what to do. You had gone there with the goal of getting that information and Zemo didn't seem to be ready to escape from there the moment you let your guard down. You'd be quick, flip through the files, see what he had to offer and in the end arrest him anyway. What could go wrong?
You lowered your gun with some hesitation and slowly approached the table. Your fingers lingered over the folder for a moment as you gathered the courage to face the information it contained. Letting out a sigh, you opened it, scanning the pages carefully.
It was too much to take in, the confirmation that Sharon was indeed the Power Broker evident on every page of that file. You felt overwhelmed, the world around you spinning as your brain struggled to process the information.
"How did you get all this? You were in prison." You spoke, dropping into the chair closest to you. You didn't trust your legs to support your body for much longer.
"I had some help. Old contacts, people who owed me favors... I was able to reach out to them before I was taken and sent to Wakanda."
"So that's how you escaped? With their help."
"I can neither confirm nor deny the involvement of any of my associates in my escape from prison." He said in his characteristic cryptic tone, making you roll your eyes.
"Yeah, sure you can't." You mumbled to yourself, returning your attention to the papers in front of you. You read every word in that file several times in an attempt to convince yourself of its validity. It was hard to believe, but Zemo was telling the truth and he had the evidence to prove it. You closed the file folder in frustration, letting out a sigh as you leaned against the back of the chair.
"And what's your great plan to stop the Power Broker? Because I assume you have one."
"You are correct, my darling." He smiled at you as he placed the glass of wine he had previously brought to his lips back on the table. "But you don't have to worry about it. You don't have to know all the details, I just need you to be ready to fight whenever I tell you to."
"No way!" You weren't going to work with Zemo, much less without knowing the details of his plan. You weren't going to let him turn you into his personal thug. "No, I can't do this. You're going back to jail."
"It's in your best interest that I take care of this, Y/N. Who else is going to do it if not me?"
"I'll tell Sam and we'll figure something out."
"It's too risky." Zemo interrupted you, raising his voice slightly. All of a sudden the expression on his face, which was previously relaxed and amused, changed to a serious one. "Sharon is his friend. Sam cares about her, but the Power Broker only cares about money and power. Sharon won't hesitate to eliminate him if she needs to, and she will use Sam's feelings against him."
"No... There has to be another way."
"There is none. Sam and Bucky are too weak to do what needs to be done. They'll let their feelings cloud their judgment and we can't afford that. Sharon is dangerous and if we want to stop her we need to be as ruthless as her."
"No. No way." You jumped up from your chair, refusing to listen to any more words coming out of Zemo's mouth. He couldn't be right, could he?
Maybe he was right when he said that Sam and Bucky would let their feelings cloud their minds, but that was normal. Finding out that Sharon, someone they thought was an ally, a friend, was actually one of the biggest criminals out there was pretty wild news. You expected them not to believe you at first because you yourself had had trouble processing the situation even after reading the incriminating files. But that wasn't reason enough for you to go behind their backs, let alone join Zemo of all people. Maybe it would take a while, but you were sure you could convince Sam and Bucky to investigate Sharon. And then together you could come up with a plan to stop her.
"Let me ask you this." Zemo's voice stopped your nervous pacing, circling the room as your mind worked faster than normal to come to a decision. "Would you rather fight one of the most dangerous criminals out there with me, someone you don't care if lives or dies, or with the little family you have left?"
You looked at Zemo with a frown. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"Things can go wrong very easily and very fast. And when that happens blood will be spilled. Are you sure you want it to be the blood of the only family you have left now that Steve is gone?"
You wanted to tell Zemo that he was being dramatic. Assure him that Sam and Bucky could watch their backs and that he was just saying that to scare you. But you weren't able to formulate a word because a lump formed in your throat as a voice in your mind began to wonder if Zemo was right. You knew the Power Broker was dangerous from everything you had read about it. And Sharon had been able to keep her alter ego a secret all this time, helping you under the guise that you were friends when she had only done so out of convenience. She was a highly intelligent and skilled woman and you honestly didn't know what to expect from her.
The only thing you knew for sure was that you were not willing to lose Sam or Bucky because of her. They were the only family you had left. In a world that was still foreign to you, they were the only thing that felt normal, familiar, comforting. Especially Bucky, whom you not only loved with all your heart, but also knew since you were a child. They were your support, the ones who kept you afloat even in your worst moments. Steve's departure hurt a little less with them by your side. You still missed your brother, but Sam's friendship and Bucky's unconditional love helped you get up in the mornings. Honestly, you didn't know if you would be able to go on if something bad happened to them, much less knowing that there was something you could have done to prevent it.
Zemo watched you closely, waiting for an answer. Even though he was sure he had convinced you he still wanted to hear you say it. You wanted to slap the expression of victory off his face, but you restrained yourself. The truth was that you were more angry with yourself than with him. You hated yourself for letting him get inside your head. You knew he was manipulating you and yet you let him continue. And now it was too late to turn back. You were completely screwed.
"Fine, I'm in." You said through your teeth. "What's the plan?"
Zemo didn't tell you much since he was in the early stages of planning. He only told you that for the time being your role was to be the brute force he needed to fight his way through the Power Broker's many allies. That wouldn't be a difficult task for you since you were a highly trained super soldier. Zemo mentioned to you that he would soon need you for a mission—something to do with getting specific information about Sharon and her routine—, but he didn't give you many details. He only asked you to act carefully around her and to find out as much as you could without being obvious, using her friendship as an advantage. He assured you that when he needed you he would call you and explain all the details and you didn't bother to press him for more information. You knew it would be useless, Zemo loved mystery and secrecy.
When you finally parted ways after discussing the central points of your new partnership, you made your way back to your car. You had parked it a couple of blocks away so as not to arouse suspicion in case things went wrong. And you were thankful you had done so as soon as you turned on your phone and saw the messages from Bucky. Apparently one of the security cameras in the area had captured Zemo's image. And now your husband was heading there to inspect the place in hopes of catching him, sending you the location in case you got to see the message in time.
"Fuck fuck fuck" you muttered under your breath, adjusting your hood as you quickened your pace. Seeing the time Bucky had sent you those messages and taking into account the time it had taken you to drive there, you figured he was probably already in the area. You should have figured something would go wrong. Fate and luck had never been on your side.
You walked through the dark streets with caution, remaining in a state of constant vigilance. It was late so there weren't many people on the street, something that was both good and bad. On the one hand, it was good because it allowed you to have a clear view of your surroundings and therefore distinguish anyone approaching you. But on the other hand, it was bad because it meant that you couldn't run away as easily if someone did indeed approach you. So you had to keep an eye out for any sign that someone else was nearby so you could hide and escape without being seen.
Your heart was beating fast, a lethal mix of nerves and adrenaline coursing through your veins. You picked up your pace, desperate to get to your car. You were getting closer and for a moment you really believed you could escape from there without any problems. But then a figure appeared in your field of vision. A familiar figure walking directly towards you.
"Shit!" You exclaimed in a whisper, recognizing Bucky just a few meters away. You immediately turned around and started walking in the opposite direction, praying he hadn't seen you. You scanned your surroundings for an escape route and found an alley a couple of meters away that could help you lose him. You headed towards that place, crossing the street without bothering to look sideways. However, you barely made it a couple of steps before you heard Bucky's voice behind you, shouting for you to stop.
You decided then that it wasn't worth keeping a low profile and started running. You were fast, the serum coursing through your veins giving you superhuman agility. But to your bad luck, Bucky was as fast as you, catching you in a matter of seconds. His hand closed over your arm in a tight grip, trying to force you to turn around. You pushed him off and continued on your way. You really didn't want to fight him, not only because you loved him and hurting him pained you, but also because as soon as you got into physical combat he would realize that you were not a normal person. You had super strength just like him and there weren't many people like you around so you were afraid he would find out about you.
However, when Bucky insisted you had no choice but to respond. He grabbed your arm again, only this time he managed to turn you over. You were thankful for the darkness of the street and for your choice of outfit since it helped you keep your identity a secret even when Bucky was looking you straight in the face. But since he couldn't make out your face under your hood he thought you were someone working for Zemo, so he didn't hesitate to raise his fist and aim it at you. Luckily you were able to dodge it, that punch and the rest of the attacks he tried to throw at you.
Soon the two of you were involved in a kind of dance, a choreography in which he tried to get closer to you while you did your best to avoid him. It was very similar to the routines you followed when you practiced at the gym. So much so that Bucky couldn't help but think that his opponent's moves looked familiar.
He failed to land any of his punches on you. You had excellent reflexes and knew his fighting strategy all too well. You were able to predict his moves before he made them. He had only come close to hitting you once, but at the last moment you were able to stop his fist, capturing it in your hand. Bucky looked at you with surprise, recognizing at that moment that he was probably dealing with someone with powers. Since your secret was already out in the open you took advantage of the grip you had on him to push him with force, effectively throwing him away from you. You tried to measure your strength, using enough to throw him back a couple of feet, but not so much that he immediately realized you were another super soldier, though at this point you didn't know if that would make a difference. Bucky stumbled from the surprising force of your shove and fell on his back, giving you enough time to scurry down the alley and disappear into the darkness of the night.
Tumblr media
"Did you see their face?" Sam asked Bucky, concerned to hear about this new mystery person his friend had confronted the night before.
"No, it was dark and they had a hood covering their face." The super soldier replied, struggling to remember every detail of the fight.
"How do we know it wasn't Zemo then?" IYou interjected, hoping that Bucky would not be able to read in your eyes the guilt you felt for hiding things from him.
'It's for the best.'
"Because Zemo is not that strong or fast." Bucky kept to himself the detail that there was something familiar about the way his opponent moved. He didn't see the point in sharing that observation, it would only confuse you as much as it confused him. He decided it would be better for him to investigate that clue on his own. "Where were you last night by the way?"
Bucky's question took you by surprise. You expected to have to explain your absence at that time of night, but you didn't expect him to ask you about it at that moment. You wondered if perhaps he was suspicious of you. "Oh I couldn't sleep so I went for a drive to clear my head." You excused, hoping Bucky would believe you and not continue to press the issue. "I'm sorry I wasn't there."
Bucky's eyes scanned your expression for longer than necessary. For a moment you thought he had figured out you were lying. After all, he knew you too well and was more than capable of reading your thoughts with a single glance at your face. Your mind began to prepare a bunch of excuses for when he would accuse you of something, determined to keep your activities secret. But to your luck Bucky wasn't able to say anything because Sam interrupted him.
"Is there anything else that you remember about this mystery person?" He intervened before the conversation went off the rails.
"No." Bucky muttered, reluctantly looking away from your face.
"Okay so what are we thinking? Another super soldier? Or maybe someone with powers?"
"I don't know, Sam. If that's the case then are we sure this person is working with Zemo? It doesn't sound like him." You reasoned, hoping to throw them off the trail. It was a valid question, after all, Zemo wasn't the type of person to form alliances with superheroes.
"They were in the same area where a security camera captured Zemo's image. I think it's safe to assume they're working together."
"But he hates superheroes and all the super soldiers are dead." You persisted, praying that you didn't sound so obvious. Your argument was well founded. In the time you had spent with Zemo he had not ceased to mention how much he hated the existence of superheroes. It was one of the reasons you had been so surprised that he had sought your help. So it was logical to find it strange that he was working with one now. You knew that, yet your nerves made you think you were being too obvious.
"That we know of." Sam said. "Maybe the Power Broker has one super soldier running around that we don't know about."
Bucky, who had stood silently staring at you, noticed the way your whole body tensed at the mention of the Power Broker. He thought it was strange, but decided not to say anything about it. "Besides, he needed to escape somehow, right? He could have joined forces with someone he hates out of necessity." He theorized and you wanted to scream at how close he was to the truth. You hadn't helped him escape from prison, but you had joined forces even though you hated each other because it was the only option you had left.
"So we think he's working with the Power Broker now?" You asked, feigning confusion. "How? He was in a prison in Wakanda, far away from Madripoor."
"I don't know. Maybe he made a deal with him before getting caught. Don't forget he was alone for a while before I got to him." Bucky said. As much as he was wrong about the Power Broker connection you thought it was a pretty logical reasoning that answered the riddle of how he had escaped. Well, at least part of it.
"We need to go back  and analyze everything that happened during the time we were with Zemo. There's gotta be something we missed that's useful now." Sam instructed and that's exactly what you did for the rest of the day.
You compiled a list of known criminals that you knew had some remote connection to Zemo. Some of them had possible connections to the Power Broker as well, so you focused your attention on them first, tracking them down and analyzing every bit of information you had on them.
It was a difficult job given that they were good at staying in the shadows, avoiding the authorities. Sam had to call several contacts, but by the end of the day you were able to gather enough information on your suspects. You still didn't know if or how any of them had actually helped Zemo—or how they had done it—, but it was a start. Your list had several promising names that you hoped might shed some light on the mechanics behind Zemo's escape.
However, as relevant and important as some of the information was, you couldn't help but feel guilty not telling them what you knew. Sam and Bucky were theorizing about who among all of them could be their mystery person without knowing it was you. You had to fight the urge to confess the truth to them on several occasions, reminding yourself how dangerous it was to confront the Power Broker. You needed to protect them from Sharon and from themselves. You couldn't lose them.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the vibration of your phone in your pocket. You picked it up not expecting to find any important notifications. It was too fast for Zemo to communicate with you again. While talking the night before he had implied that he wouldn't need you for the time being. However, the message from an unknown number flashing on your screen told you otherwise.
Change of plans. I need you here in two hours.
Don't be late, my darling.
When you looked up from your phone you met Bucky's eyes, who was analyzing your expression with curiosity. You locked the screen and hid the device back in your pocket defensively even though you knew he wasn't able to see anything at the distance he was at.
"Everything alright?" Bucky asked, drawing the attention of Sam who looked away from the computer to you.
"Yeah, it's just my friend Lizzie... She messaged me saying she needs to talk." You lied, invoking the name of one of the doctors on the Avenger's tower medical team who had become your best friend over the years. "Is it okay if I at least call her to see what she needs?"
"Go talk to her, Y/N." Sam allowed you, believing your little lie. "We can handle this. You have done enough already, you deserve a break."
"Thank you, Sam. I'll be back as soon as I can." You thanked him as you gathered your things. "Keep me posted, okay?"
The last thing you heard before you left the room was Bucky's complaining about how he too deserved a break.

"You need to be more careful!" You exclaimed in a raised tone as soon as you had Zemo in front of you. "A security camera caught your image not far from where we met last night and Bucky almost caught me."
"Did he?" Zemo spoke in a calm tone as if he did not understand the gravity of the situation.
"No, but I had to fight him and now he thinks you're working with the Power Broker."
"Then there's nothing to worry about." The calmness in his voice irritated you to the point of having to clench your fists at the sides of your body to avoid hitting him in the middle of the face.
"Easy for you to say, you're not the one that has to lie to him."
Zemo approached you with slow but confident steps. He stopped when he found himself a couple of inches away from you, completely invading your personal space. He looked at you with his head slightly tilted to the side, studying your expression to guess your thoughts. You remained firm in your place, maintaining eye contact to show him that he didn't intimidate you.
"Remember why we are doing this, Y/N." He spoke in a soft but firm tone that radiated authority. "We take down the Power Broker while your lovely husband and best friend stay safe, far away from danger. Your lies are for the greater good."
"I know." You rolled your eyes. "You don't have to do this shit with me, I'm not going to tell them. I'm just saying... It feels wrong to lie to them."
"You'll forget all about it once you return home to your beloved Bucky after defeating Sharon." Zemo offered you a smile before walking away from you, giving you back your personal space. "Now let's get to work."
Zemo explained the mission carefully. Apparently he had learned of the whereabouts of a guy who worked for the Power Broker. He was a low-level criminal, but he believed he had relevant information about Sharon's plans. So your job was to help Zemo get to him. According to what he had told you, the guy had more security than usual, which was not only suspicious but also made your job more difficult. You would have to be very careful if you wanted to get to him, but you were confident that wouldn't be a problem.
"What happens when we get to him?" You asked him while discussing the mission. "How are we gonna make him talk?"
"You worry about getting us inside and leave the rest to me. I'll get him talking." You didn't like the way Zemo said that, but it was too late to question it now. You had gotten yourself into this mess and you had to see it through to the end. Otherwise, the lies you had told Bucky would be for nothing.
Although the situation got you thinking about Sharon's future. So far there had only been talk of 'stopping' the Power Broker without really specifying what that entailed. You had a pretty clear idea of what Zemo meant when he talked about 'stopping' Sharon, though. For him there was a very easy way to deal with people like her, but you were beginning to question if that was really the end you wanted for her. You knew it was the quickest and safest solution, the only one that would assure you of putting an end to her and her plans without any of your loved ones getting hurt. Honestly, you were a little tired of fighting, of losing people, but you weren't sure you had what it took to go through with Zemo's plans. After all, Sharon had been your friend at one time.
You shook your head to clear your mind of those thoughts. You didn't have time to question things now, though you knew it was something you would have to reflect on eventually. For the moment your priority was to fight the Power Broker's men who were protecting the criminal they needed to capture.
Taking out the outside guards hadn't been as difficult as you thought it would be. You insisted on handling it alone since Zemo wanted to kill them in cold blood. You knew they were criminals and probably didn't deserve your sympathy, but letting him just kill them didn't sit well with you. Things got more complicated when they entered the building. There were more guards who weren't able to get out of the way and a fight broke out. The sound of gunshots and punches were all you could hear as you worked with Zemo to make your way to your target. Despite how badly you got along and how much you disapproved of some of his methods, you made a good pair in combat. He had your back and you had his.
You managed to get rid of most of the Power Broker's men in a matter of seconds. You thought you had a good chance of winning the battle and getting to the target before he managed to escape. But then a door opened and from the other side appeared Sam and Bucky, who were immediately attacked by the thugs. Amidst the chaos of the fight they were able to find you in the sea of people. Your eyes—which luckily for you were covered by your outfit— focused on Bucky's for a moment, before turning to Zemo.
"We need to go. Now!" You exclaimed in the middle of the fight, pushing Zemo towards the exit.
"No! We need to get to him!" He resisted, pulling out a gun and shooting a man who was approaching to attack you from behind. "We can use them as a distraction." He added, referring to Sam and Bucky fighting the Power Broker's men. You rolled your eyes, irritated with Zemo, and used your strength to push him to safety, away from the fight and the intense gaze of your friends.
"Sam and Bucky are here for you, not him. They'll get to you before we have the chance to find this dude." You explained, grabbing Zemo by the shoulders in the hope of bringing him to his senses. "We need to leave." You didn't wait to hear his protests, dragging him away from the fight in search of a way out.
The place was a hellhole, nothing more than a dirty old warehouse in the middle of nowhere. However, you were surprised to walk through a door and find an area that functioned as a parking lot for a variety of cars. You instructed Zemo to get into the vehicle closest to you and start it while you watched the door, making sure no one had followed you there. The plan was to use it to escape from there as quickly as possible, more concerned about not getting caught than completing the mission. You would find other opportunities to get information about the Power Broker as long as you managed to get out of there unharmed.
Although apparently luck was not on your side that day—was it ever?—, because before you could do anything, Bucky entered the room. He shouted for you to stop while pointing the gun he held in his hands at you. You knew that the reasonable thing to do was to obey his orders, but you still tried to escape. However, when Bucky fired into the air you froze in place, realizing the seriousness of the situation.
You quickly came to the conclusion that you had no escape. Bucky had caught you and was ready to shoot you to prevent you from escaping again. If you wanted to save yours and Zemo's life, you had no choice but to surrender and confess the truth.
Putting your hands up in the air, you slowly turned around to face Bucky. He was pointing his gun at you, watching you menacingly. It was strange to look into his eyes and not find the love and warmth you always saw in them. You hated it. You hated to be seen as a criminal, an enemy when you weren't one. You were his wife, the love of his life, and you were teaming up with Zemo to protect him. You were doing this for love, so why did Bucky seem so hurt when he recognized your voice?
It was then that you realized what a big mistake you had made.
"Don't shoot!" You warned, seeing the confusion on Bucky's face at the sound of your voice. You brought your hands up to your hood, slowly pulling it back to expose your face to your husband. He looked at you with a mixture of shock, confusion and betrayal in his eyes. Shame came over you, settling in your stomach in the form of a knot. You wanted to look away, the pain in Bucky's eyes was almost impossible to bear, but you fought to maintain eye contact. It was the least you could do at that moment.
"Y/N... W-what are you doing here with him?" Bucky asked, pointing his gun at Zemo, who watched the scene silently, waiting for the right moment to escape.
"Bucky..." You began in a soft tone, looking for the right words to explain the situation you had gotten yourself into. "This is not what it looks like. I-"
"Not what it looks like?" He interrupted you, repeating your words in disbelief. "So you are not helping Zemo right now? Because that's exactly what it looks like to me."
"I am helping Zemo." You confessed with a sigh, finding no point in continuing to lie. "But it's not what it looks like, okay? If you let me explain..."
"We've been looking for him and all this time you knew where he was and you didn't tell us!"
"No no no" you repeated, desperate to make Bucky understand the reasons behind your actions. You approached him taking a couple of steps in his direction, and he instinctively pointed his gun at you. You stopped for a second, your heart breaking as you realized he saw you as a threat at that moment. You saw the surprise in his eyes as well and decided to continue walking towards him, confident that he wouldn't hurt you. Once in front of him, you placed your hands on his gun to encourage him to lower it.
"Zemo contacted me yesterday and I went to see him, but it's not what you think." You explained once he lowered the gun.
"So it was you last night." It wasn't a question, but you nodded anyway. "Why? Why would you do this? Why wouldn't you tell me the truth?" Bucky's voice sounded broken and you knew he was holding back tears. The knot in your stomach tightened and a wave of guilt washed over you.
"I'm sorry, Buck. It's complicated. I didn't mean to lie to you at first but I just-"
"Why would you choose to work with him? Why didn't you tell me?" He interrupted you. It was as if he was thinking out loud, as if his brain had forgotten how to use his inner voice. "Is he trying to bring back the Winter Soldier? Is that why you were being so secretive about this?" Bucky knew that the accusation was far-fetched, but he wasn't thinking straight and his brain seemed to have lost its filter.
"What? No!" You were shocked by his words, hurt that even for a moment he was capable of considering the idea that you could do such a thing to him. You had seen him suffer for the Winter Soldier. You still did when at night the memories of his past haunted him in the form of nightmares. You had watched him fight for his freedom from Hydra's control, sticking with him through every part of the process. Now that he was finally free you would never think of imprisoning him like that again. "Bucky I would never..."
"Then why?!" He exclaimed, raising his voice. He was not angry, but confused and hurt. His eyes begged you for an explanation that made sense and you found no strength in your heart to keep hiding the truth from him.
"Sharon is the Power Broker." You let out with a sigh of defeat, watching Bucky's expression contract with confusion. "It's true. I didn't want to believe it at first, but it's true. Zemo contacted me because he needs my help to stop her and I agreed to work with him because I didn't want to lose you." You ended up with a broken voice, tears threatening to escape your eyes.
"What?" Bucky looked at you with a frown although both his voice and expression were much softer than mere seconds ago.
"She's dangerous, Bucky. All those who confronted her ended up dead. And now that she's back home she's more powerful than she has ever been. I didn't tell you any of this because I didn't want to drag you and Sam into this... because I couldn't bear the thought of losing someone else... of losing you."
"Hey, you're not gonna lose me." Bucky mumbled, taking your face in his hands and wiping the tears that fell down your cheeks with his thumbs. "You're not gonna lose me, doll. I'm right here. I'm always going to be right here by your side." His voice was soft, trying to inspire calmness through tone, but it only made a new wave of tears roll down your cheeks. You cried because the assurance in his voice comforted you but also because you knew they were empty promises. No one's life was guaranteed and Bucky, just like anyone else, could die at any moment, leaving you alone in an empty world without his smile.
"I know lying to you was wrong and I know I probably let Zemo get inside my head, but I couldn't stop thinking about you getting hurt. I accepted his offer because I thought it was going to be easier working with him since I don't care if he lives or dies." You explained your reasoning between sobs and sniffles. "I know I was wrong and I'm sorry. But I did it to protect you because I love you, Buck. And I could never do anything to hurt you. Never." You insisted, referring to the accusations he had made minutes before.
"Shit, doll. I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say those things. I know you would never hurt me. I just... I wasn't thinking straight." Bucky apologized, ashamed that he was capable of insinuating something so horrible. He knew you loved him, knew you wanted nothing more than his happiness. You had stood by him in his worst times, supported him even when he wasn't sure he deserved it. You were the love of his life and he didn't understand how he had let his mind lead him to think something so horrible. "You know that Zemo gets into my head. I saw him and I saw you and my brain just stopped working."
"It's okay, I'm not mad." You told him with a weak smile, resting your hands over his hands that still rested delicately on your cheeks. "I lied to you and you had all the rights to be upset. I just wanted to make sure you knew I could never do something like that to you. I love you with all my heart, Bucky. You are my family, my home. I want nothing more than your happiness and wellbeing."
"I know, doll. I love you too. So, so much. I can't even put it into words." He confessed, leaning down to rest his forehead on yours. It was such a simple but intimate gesture that it sent a wave of comforting warmth through your body. "I'm sorry, doll." He whispered against your lips.
"I'm sorry too." You responded before closing the short distance between you, bringing your lips together in a delicate kiss. Bucky reciprocated immediately, using his grip on your cheeks to tilt your face to deepen the kiss further, effectively showing you how sorry he was. You did your best to follow his lead, hoping that he too would be able to feel everything you felt for him on your lips.
The world around you ceased to exist for a moment. Zemo, the Power Broker and all your problems disappeared from your mind as you melted in the arms of the love of your life, your soulmate. In that moment you were reminded once again that all you needed to be okay was to have Bucky by your side. He was your rock, your lifeline, the only one whose mere presence was able to clear the fog that clouded your mind and make the sun come out. He was your everything, your whole life. You decided at that moment that you would never again let anything come between you, whether it was Zemo, the Power Broker or death itself.
"Thank you for your help, Bucky. I couldn't have done it without you."Sam's irritated voice interrupted you, forcing you to pull away. When you turned around you noticed that he was accompanied by Zemo, who was handcuffed. You looked at him in confusion, wondering when he had gotten out of there and how he had managed to do so without alerting you. "What is she doing here?"
You and Bucky shared a look. He nodded his head slightly, encouraging you to speak. You let out a long sigh before returning your gaze to your friend's confused face. It was time to come clean.

B, C, K, N, P, S ❤️️
Ooooh... I really had to think about some of these.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
I feel like often I haven't considered a pairing until I read a fic that does it really well or that gives me a premise I can get behind, but the only time someone, as in another person specifically talking to me, changed my mind was when a friend from one fandom suggested I might enjoy a fic from a different fandom we were both in… so I read an FMA Ed/Roy mpreg fic that I would not have otherwise given the time of day to… and I really enjoyed it ngl.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Sesshomaru/Kagome from the Inuyasha fandom. I do not understand why this pairing was so popular. If you want to hook Sesshomaru up with a human woman, Sango is standing right there ffs, she is such a better choice, lmao. I don't really get Reylo either, and there are plenty of other het ships that just make me scratch my head.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Wesley Wyndam-Price from Buffy/Angel. I love this man, and I love his development from someone who has no idea what the fuck is actually going on, to developing both physical and interpersonal competence, to finding a real family, to losing it through accidentally following some bad advice and betraying everyone, to finding love, to losing everything. His devotion to Fred makes a primordial, demonic, god-being care enough to help the protagonists fight an overwhelming army. I mean come on. This might be the one character I really did not mind at all that Whedon killed, because I felt like he had done everything and achieved everything he could possibly achieve and there was nowhere else for him to go. Perfection💔don't tell me anything about the comics i don't care
N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
For the fandom of Stargate in general…
More alien headcanons!! There are some really great people writing some fantastic fics for the Wraith, so I'm going to complain specifically about how I want more fics and HC for the Nakai and Ursini in SGU. Also the Reol from SG1 ("The Fifth Man”) have SUCH potential, I want to see more of them!!
I would love to see more SGU people in SGA plots, if that makes sense. (I have a fic where Sheppard gets booted as military Commander, and I'm thinking of replacing him with Telford. 🤔)
more crossover ideas in general, within the Stargate brand. What if Vala and Cam came to visit Atlantis while Sam was there?  What if the whole gateing-through-the-sun-time-warp thing sent Rush to Pegasus instead and he ran into Todd? What if “Rising” was actually “Solitudes” and Sheppard and O'Neill are the ones trapped under a bunch of ice when their chopper puts down unexpectedly to dodge the drone?  (I just think it would be neat.🙂)
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
The last question had a 3 in it so my brain stuck on that track and I came up with 3 SGU AUs I'd like to see
The Lucian Alliance doesn't attack as they're dialing Destiny in ep 1 and even though they have to evacuate bc the planet's about to explode, everyone who doesn't want to go through the gate can beam up to Carter’s ship and evac to Earth. So it's a tense situation but there's enough time and focus that Telford and O'Neill get to send the “right people team" that they wanted to send. I wonder who that was? Presumably this team was already on Icarus base, it just contained fewer civilians. I'd like to see them not do any better, or mess up in different ways.
Everything happens the same, but Camille is more assertive sooner and gets Young and Rush to stop being such dicks to each other, and everyone has a more mentally healthy experience.
When I first read the title of the s1 finale “Incursion,” I thought it was going to be about the Nakai returning. So, an AU where that happens, OR both the Nakai and the Lucian Alliance show up to invade Destiny on the same day and everything is chaos ❤️
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)
Wow, I really don't know if I can answer this… I feel like everything I think about the characters is my headcanon to an extent? And what I canon in my head changes for every fic. I think I HC the Wraith as being a lot more into casual touch than they are shown in canon, that just jumps to mind. (But like, there's not much to them, socially, in canon, so it's really all hc, and I don't think I can list all the backstory/society I've made up for them across several fics.) Narrow the question down a bit and I can maybe do better.😂
Thanks for the ask! 💖
Ask game!

wild blue yonder thoughts
(initial live watch and next day rewatch)
live
- the very beginning for a second was giving me ascension of the cybermen vibes, like bright, green, really calm idk
- not sure if the newton stuff was funny or cringe
- all that happening bc donna spilt some coffee is so dumb 😭 like okay the tardis is weak as fuck
- the amount of cgi was mildly off-putting at times but also like obviously a corridor like that would need to be in large part cgi
- 14 may have just meant newton was good looking generally and also his 'is that who I am now' comment was probs more of a 'oh am I the kind of person to find ppl attractive/be open about it' rather than a 'do I fancy men now' moment (tho donna assuming it was kinda funny) but also I'm hoping 14 being kinda openly attracted to men is a sign for what 15 is gonna be like. like let's keep it going and have a male love interest.........?
- fake donna and fake 14 were so creepy like I stg right as fake 14 showed up to the way it was shot made me feel weird bc it just wasn't showing him and I was like well show him then and then it did and I was like oh he's normal okay but then it went down hill fr dt was v creepy
- the long ass arms and stuff was simultaneously unserious and creepy as fuck
- flux and timeless child mention ahhhhh I kinda am obsessed with it and I really hope it's a sign that rtd is gonna explore it a bit more (which based on xmas special info he seemingly is). I love the way it ended with 13 but there's defo room there to explore more about how the doctor really feels about it all and accepting it. bc it's one thing to decide you don't want the memories but it's another to actually come to terms with it all
- the vibes were kinda midnight-y, like monsters impersonating and tryna copy someone and replace them yknow
- wilf <333333
- I'm writing this up right after it ended and I haven't looked at what other ppl thought and I didn't type up my thoughts as I was watching so I probs forgot a ton of stuff that I had opinions on but anyways. I cheered
rewatch
- ppl getting mad that isaac newton isn't white is so predictable like omg I couldn't imagine giving a fuck. that scene is defo cringe tho but it's fine. I like the 'have you got the controls set to famous' line
- the tardis playing that song is so funny like she looooves the drama tbh
- I hope the mavity thing continues for a long time but I don't want it to get mentioned every episode bc that'll get old very quick
- 14 acknowledging that newton was hot and then being like 'is that was I do now' is defo a him being like oh do I notice attractiveness and be open about it now situation and not an oh am I gay now situation bc the doctor has BEEN fancying men. and it fits with the moments from the star beast where he says he loves people and is like oh do I say that now
- the let's go and kick it's ass line, and the way it's shot idk, is not very good
- seeing the outside of the ship was sooo weat/tdf vibes
- the doctor joking around with donna about dying is my fave I miss the doctor being like this fr (that's NOT a chib diss)
- the timeless child and flux mentions and the doctor finally being open with someone but then it ends up not actually being donna oh I'm gonna lose my whole mind I'm so obsessed with that scene and then meanwhile donna figures out she's with the fake doctor like the genius she is
- and THEN the doctor's little tantrum that I and most others was clowning on before the ep came out but actually it ends up being kinda harrowing liiiiike woah
- obsessed with the scene where they're separated by the glass wall
- fake donna in the tardis and real donna stuck out there.. ctate actor of all time
- I really did think for a second that donna was gonna die on first watch and how wild would that have been especially if the doctor didn't end up noticing fake donna and we were stuck with her for the giggle. probably woulda been a nightmare tbh so I'm glad it didn't happen but also idk
- donna saying the doctor timed getting back to avoid the awkward convo makes me think of all the times chib had shit happen to avoid having the doctor and (usually) yaz complete a convo, it used to drive me crazy it was so annoying
- wilf <33333
- I kinda wish we saw the toymaker in the background during all that drama that was going on at the end

Not SnC related, but what are your thoughts on Matt Rife? Last I checked, Sam still followed him on IG 🤷🏼‍♀️
matt rife is a very interesting person lol
i never really saw him blow up on tiktok (or at least on my fyp) but i had heard about him and some of the thirst edits that had been shared about him. and i knew overall that a lot of ppl, women mostly, found him hot.
what i find the most fascinating about him is how much of a case study he really is for confidence and how important that can be to the success or downfall of a person.
(this became so long i'm sorry lol)
so idk if it's true that he got surgery done to make his face look more manly. i know he admitted to the veneers, i believe, but they wouldn't have changed up his face that much. so... i'm gonna believe the possible filler allegations lol
i think one of the reasons why things kinda fell off for him is bc he wasn't confident in himself whatsoever, and then like most men who feel like shit, he took it out on women.
bc let me tell you a little something about myself: i have been plus size my entire life. came out the womb with thunder thighs. not even joking about that. for years, and i mean years, i legit thought if i could just be skinny, i'll be happy. if i could just look like what ppl want me to look like, i'll feel better about myself. and it took til i was about 25ish to finally realize being skinny was NEVER gonna make me magically like myself. i had lost weight before, 40 pounds one time, 60 pounds another. but it never made me like myself. sure, i guess i felt better in the moment. but the quiet would set back in, and i would go back to shitting on myself.
losing weight and getting down to the "correct" size was never going to happen. i was never gonna be satisfied. bc at the end of the day, i still hated myself. i still deeply thought i was ugly. i could lose 100s of pounds and still think i wasn't good enough. not to mention, i wanted to be known for more than just my weight. i was a whole person, regardless of my size.
and i think matt kinda had a similar thing happen.
i think he always had an issue with himself, his face particularly. and while, yeah - plenty of ppl thought he was kinda funny - he wasn't conventionally attractive (in his own eyes and to others). so he felt like no one cared about him. so he figured, if i could just get hot, ppl will care about me and my comedy.
but the exact opposite happened. he changed up his face, got it to match the portrait in his mind of what he "deserved" to look like, but he never worked on himself internally. he never fixed the broken parts of himself. so when suddenly, all of these women are giving him attention - it almost proved the little voice in the back of his head "see, all they did care about was my looks. i got held back in life bc i was ugly". even tho reality is, that's not what happened. he felt like shit about himself, ppl don't naturally gravitate towards unconfident ppl. if you don't like yourself, a lot of ppl will take advantage of that. that's just life.
and not only was that little voice proven "right", all anyone could talk about anymore was his looks (tho he also played a huge role in that). when all he wanted was to be known for was his comedy. but he thought the reason he wasn't succeeding was bc of his looks.
when in actuality, he just... wasn't funny. or really, wasn't as funny as he thought he was.
this all being said, if he actually worked on himself internally, he wouldn't have gotten himself into this mess. do i think he's funny? eh, i guess. but like any man, him make "women kitchen = funny" jokes really puts a damper on the a, being funny aspect he takes pride in and b, being attractive. i feel like a lot of men don't realize how quickly they self sabotage their own happiness by HATING ON THE GENDER THEY ARE ATTRACTED TO.
and sam following him... honestly, i wouldn't be surprised if he only follows him bc matt is friends with elton and they're all on somewhat decent terms again.
quick note to matt: hating on astrology is really dumb, coming from the dude that has gone ghost hunting and believes. babe, you might think i'm weird bc i believe in planets and their alignment meaning something, but you're scared of something that isn't even tangible.... at least i know the planets actually fucking exist.
(i also believe in ghosts, but at least i don't pretend to be on a high horse about it)
also talking about a partner's nether regions and saying how they are unattractive to you IS CRAZY when i know dicks 9 times out of 10 literally look like shriveled up limp mini hot dogs.......... you have a lot of room to be talking, my guy.

OKAY BUT IZOU IS 100% PURPOSEFULLY A LITTLE SHIT I can just picture him being amused in the beginning but then losing his patience bc NOTHING is happening the two brothers are content to play the long game and slowly win you over since they don't want to pressure you! and that's no fun to izou
so he works on sending luffy/ace/thatch at convenient times to interrupt and if it was anyone besides sabo/marco they prolly wouldn't catch on but those two are smart and sly on their own so they maybe originally think it's the other one before discussing it. It's not like they're on bad terms they're aware what the other is doing and maybe they've snuck themselves out onto a 'date' the other had but they're both mature adults so there's really no hostility there, just some brotherly competition. so they work out that it's izou somehow, maybe izou is very very subtly flirting on his own where they can see, but you're definitely oblivious bc he's VERY subtle about it
and I can picture them confonting him about it and him being like what? if you don't hurry up someone else will snatch the little flower up and arrange her beautifully
OKAY also agree that they would eavesdrop. my brain said no earlier when I said vent trope but nah, sabo would give zero shits and be at that door. imagine yall had something going on earlier with a few drinkies and you're just a littleeeee tipsy too when ace comes to ask you what's up so you maybe give him way more details than he asked for and they both hear the whole thing (and ace definitely needs another drink after that)
thatch being the oblivious tip offer is so funny bc he means well and it's so cute I can see thatch casually talking marco up to you too and it's not like them going to thatch's bar would be TOTALLYYYYY creepy like they could just play it off as they came to see thatch! no idea you were there!
yes the 'soft around me then scary dangerous around threats' is such a good trope omg I love it like you've seen all of them playfully mad at ribbing between brothers but the actual anger is blowing your mind!!! (and it's kinda hot lolol)
okay but yes to mafia au (and heheheh hotel with marco and sabo >>) but imagine they were kinda in that world to begin with (maybe not mafia but connected enough to know who's who and have strong connections/money) and another reason you're such good friends with ace besides the punch first mantra is that you're both a little dumb like he tried to bring it up at some point, thought you understood, and maybe you said something like 'i don't need to know details' (bc you thought it was something wayyyyy different) and so when you went to move in they asked ace if you were aware of whatever and he was like yes! but she doesn't want details! and they start explaining it after and it's like ????? excuse me WHAT idk just a dumb misunderstanding bc you and ace are just a little dumb together especially and you're sitting there like oh… they have a really big, nice house and oh all have nice cars and wait how did you not notice this before
lmao and imagine the hotel shower looks like the one in your dream so there goes into that train of thought as you're trying to calm down from everything else and man did they look hot when they were mad >>
quin you fed my brain and now it's going in overdrive oh my god I can't get it out of my head help I'm so sorry I typed so much at you T_______T
DO NOT APOLOGIZE - Omfg this was AMAZING to read - you are killing me in the best way. I love it. I want to write it. I want to just line up espresso shots and stay up all night and not sleep and just WRITE THIS because it is just getting more and more amazing the more we talk about it.
Mafia-ish AU - Maybe the Edward Family did start below board. Made some nice money from it now and then transitioned to actual legal activities. Sure there's still some shady connections in there, you can't shake them entirely, debts owed and all that. But legal enough that the marines who harass them aren't going to get any where.
Sabo's a lawyer, part of Dragon's firm, and half his job is dealing with the red tape the Government dogs insist on throwing at the family business, that has truly and honestly gone from Family to family.
Marco's effectively the CEO of the company, Pops stepped down and retired after shifting everything over to a legit business. Thatch had the bar as a front originally, but had effectively shifted it into a lucrative business before the rest of the family business shifted over. (Izou's the CFO, Ace works in the mail room, but he is learning the ropes for the entire business, and will spend 1-2 years in just about every role in the company so he can learn logistics hands on).
The family's not that long removed from things either, maybe five years. Maybe somewhere between 10 and five, like, just enough to be honestly legit, but not so much that they've gone soft by any stretch of the word.
Shanks is still mafia, and I think friends with enough of the Edward Boys that there's some amicable exchange of information between them. He keeps them in the loop, they set up some shell corps for him. There's real animosity with Kaido and Big Mom though, but most of that might not even come into play with the story.
I LOVE the hotel shower being like the one in the dream, and you over-shared details with Ace, so Sabo and Marco both know. Know in that "Oh what an interesting shower, wouldn't you say so?" kind of way.
Oh but man - word gets out, the Edward Boys have a weakness™ - you'd have to be hella dumb to take that risk, or crazy powerful, or just plain crazy.
At some point you learn that the brothers aren't blood related - and that's one of those "I should've known" moments, cause everyone looks so different, and it was a Family™ and not even an adopted family, and gods alive Sabo isn't even Marco's brother, he's Ace's and something about sake, and Luffy, and don't think too hard on it, how did that dream go again?

since those pictures yesterday i have had one thought and one only: threesome with vern & woozi. smth about that wall-lean has me in a literal chokehold and i think it’s the idea of vernon trying to be the big man, acting cocky and hard and losing it, becoming the whiniest, lip-biting sub the second you start bouncing on his cock??? woozi crowding behind u with That MFing smirk on his face, kissing all over ur neck and shoulders touching you everywhere he can while he waits for his turn??? i am not okay???? how could they put me through this im going out of my MIND😭😭 -🍿 x
good lord popcorn anon, are u sure ur popcorn? u should be called poppedpussy anon or smthn bc DAMN [laugh im funny]
okay so, imagining vernon as someone who really does think he's like, the big man you need. he would both love and hate the embarrassment of buckling in on himself the second he sees you naked in front of him, turning into the whining loser he is on the inside.
like when you actually sink down on him, he would be fucking gone, entirely giving himself up to you. all of this would lead woozi, the tiniest bitch in the room to take on the role of "big man".
he would do that fucking smirk, kissing against you, holding your waist and helping you torture vernon half to death with your pussy before whispering things to you like, "don't worry, when he's done i'll take good care of you"
switch!reader activate.
once vernon actually does finish, out of breath and lying spent like not even a foot away from you, he watches as woozi does exactly what he wanted to do. the best part is when woozi starts talking to him like, "this is how you're supposed to do it, by the way. look at her, she's gone."
and when he looks at you, noting how your jaw is slack and your eyes are barely able to open, he groans and hopes that you give him another chance. not even realizing that maybe you love that he's submissive, and you also love that somehow, woozi came out of nowhere with the ability to make you submit to him.

Hey Dani. I have a few questions. Feel free to not answer any of them.
I love lbaf for a lot of reasons but the most important one is how much the Clave has progressed. I like that none of the changes are unrealistic and can totally happen. This makes me really excited to see how Alec's Clave has evolved. I don't think it's such a stretch to imagine that at same point they'll make laws like the child protection law and even the one against hate speech. Although i have a hard time picturing shadowhunters going to mundane institutions and pursuing mundane jobs. What changes do you think we'll get to see in twp?
I love runes. It's one of the things I adore about the shadow world. My favourite rune is The Alliance rune. Even the idea of it makes me really happy. Another favorite is the Stamina rune bc of the malec scene in Paris. What are some of your favourite runes? Also i'm really curious about the birth control rune and the alarm rune that clary came up with in tlbotw.
In case it's not been clear I'm incapable of doing anything w/o thinking about malec. So i wondered what if like Other Max there was an Other Magnus too. I'm pretty sure Alec wouldn't mind that but what do you think Magnus will feel? (I know this is very ooc for Magnus but still)
The show has a lot of flaws but the one thing i really like was some of the sets. Magnus' loft was very on point and really matched his personality (it would have been even cooler if he changed the theme like he does in the books) . So was the institute's Training Room and how it looked from the outside. I also liked Jade Wolf, Hunter's Moon and Simon and Jordan's apartment. The first time we got to see Alicante in s3 was also really amazing. It felt very isolated and shadowhuntery. No wonder shadowhunters are so elitist.
Anyway love you. i'm really sick but i hope you have a great day
Oh noooo. I hope you are feeling better, Yana 🥺🥺🥺
I think we won't see a lot of changes in TWP. Their focus would be more on running the clave-in-exile and possibly getting Idris back (and dealing with Janus lol). But because the Clave is in Exile and heavily reliant on the mundane world (as opposed to Idris) I think they will definitely learn to rely a little bit more on mundane technology and medicine. But only a little time has passed since TDA (2 or 3 years?) so again, the changes will be quite limited. But I agree with you that it's not impossible to imagine the Clave changing in the long run (a very long run, as you know with lbaf, because good leadership doesn't always translate to good governance)
I love runes too! The Alliance rune is also amazing! I personally love the Iratze, parabatai rune, fearless, enlighten and calm anger runes :) (i want all of them tattooed on me oof)
This is a tricky question. If we are simply talking about Magnus meeting the future version of himself, I can see him having a laugh out of it and being very curious (i think i wrote a fic? I'm pretty sure i did) But if we are talking about someone similar to Other Max (someone darker and someone unhinged and someone who has been hurt a lot) I think Magnus will be scared of Other Magnus. Because we know, from what happened in Thule (even in tlbotw), Magnus does not want to become evil and he does not want to lose his kindness. So, I think he'd be terrified to meet Other Magnus (i actually have a fic idea for this and have had it for a long time but I am not emotionally prepared to write it lol)
I LOVED THE SETS TOO. I liked the Seelie Realm too. And yes, anyone who lives in a land of magic will definitely be arrogant hehe.
