I saw this meme the other day, that was like

A;"Do you think we should make 2a more clear?" B:"It says 'Shall Not Be Infringed' how much clearer can we get?"

Then a comment that said something like "When people asked Thomas Jefferson if they could buy cannons he said 'What am I your king? Do whatever you want'"

I have an honest question that I want to have a dialogue about. Cause I have been thinking about this for days and I need answers (Sorry this gets long but I ask you to read it if you are a staunch 2a person and give feedback)

How come people always ignore the "For the purposes of well regulated Militia" part?

How many children have to die before "well regulated" starts to matter? You would think it'd be one or like 10 but it's not. Since Columbine 169 children have died in school shootings so it's not that number either. Every time a school shooting happens the number of children you are hypothetically okay with dying gets a little higher. That's not counting the people who are killed in regular mass shootings, gang violence, who are injured, children and parents who are now traumatized for life. Just. Dead kids.

So my question to all the "Shall Not Be Infringed In Any Way" people is how many dead children is too many dead children to you personally? If it was your child would you change your mind then? Really honestly take a minute to think about it. If your child went to school and never came home (God forbid I pray that never happens), which is what these 169 children's parents experienced, would you still not put any effort into making sure no parent went through that again? Or is there no number too high? 10,000 children? 20k?

We are seeing more and more mass shooting committed with guns the guy got legally. No one (we'll probably someone but you get what I mean) wants to take away all guns. You can still have everything but this one specific type of gun.

So what's your number? Because the leading cause of death for children and teens in the US is gun violence and the number is only going up.

#and a broader question for anyone who will humor me #is there something in our culture or about how we are raising our young men #So that since 1982 #an 127 mass shootings have been committed by male shooters #Vs only 3 which have been committed by female shooters #it is a very stark percentage #less than 3% are women #what kind of message are we collectively sending that is causing so many men to do this #white makes are 32% of US Population But Commit 52% of mass shootings #this was all supured on cause i watched a heart wrentching video #of Anthony Padilla interviewing school shooting survivors #its a really good video i recommend it #if you read all the way to this point thank you!! i love you!!#💕💕💕💕#gun control

Zach is this guy she's #known for a while (like they make a point of *telling us* in one of the earliest scenes that Zach feels weird talking about her in the #detached way they may talk abt other people in their grade they barely know—because it's *different* since he and Josh *actually know her*#plus in the script [and it STILL COUNTS TO ME because she *starts* saying the line but just gets cut off by Dennis] Allison brings #up Zach & Josh having had a silly handshake since 7th grade ['oh god that used to make me pee!' <- girl why would u say that to him]#so it's like... these are kids who've known each other for years!) and he's got this obvious fucking crush on her (the hallway scene where #he is. blatantly staring and she catches him for a second) and the moment she decides to actually start pursuing him because SHE'S #got a crush on HIM too... he starts pulling away and acting erratic and sending her the most mixed signals in the fucking world.#and sheee THINKSSS ITS HERRR FAULT!!!!!!!! like. listen. this scene i giffed above? this is what she's fucking talking about later #when she jokes about not wanting to 'scare him off again'. like sure she says it like a joke but... uhm. i simply think there's #a certain amount of truth to it too—because he DID leave the party visibly freaked out! and i think it'd be perfectly believable for her #to think that it was at least partially HER pushing too hard that was causing him to withdraw/pull away from her. plus she blatantly says #she thinks she's the reason Josh & Zach are fighting. like. this poor girl is on the outskirts of a tragedy she'll probably NEVER know the #details of but she's seeing firsthand the impact it's having on Zach and... blaming herself... that's so fucking heartbreaking
